The production of tomatoes from seedlings is safer, fruiting and harvesting occur earlier, and due to the more uniform distribution of plants in the field, the fruits formed are larger and more uniform. Various substrates from own production and substrates from industrial production are used for cultivation. The research was conducted in a greenhouse, at the location of Gornji Lukavac, Gradačac. The aim of this study was to determine the influence of different substrates on germination, vegetative growth and yield of tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum). For the purposes of this research, four nutrient substrates were used: Potgrond H, own compost, sand-soil mixture in a ratio of 1: 1, and lumbri humus. The research was conducted during 2021. The seeds first germinated in the soil substrate: sand (1: 1), the best marketable fruits were on lumbra humus.

Rootstocks of the genus Pyrus are easily adapted to climatic conditions and such trees are more resistant to Erwinia amylovora, but they also have disadvantages because these trees are more lush and difficult to grow in dense composition. The production of pears in a dense composition is a tendency of intensive pear production, and quince rootstocks are used for this purpose, because it is easier to control the height of the stem. The increase in the density of the composition in pear orchards is directly related to the use of vegetative rootstocks of less lushness, such as rootstocks of the genus Cydonia sp.The research included five autochthonous pear varieties: Takiša, Jeribasma, Šećerka, Karamut i Huseinbegovača. The tests were performed at the location Voćni rasadnik, Špionica, City Srebrenik, Tuzla Canton, Bosnia and Herzegovina, during the vegetation of 2021. Morphometric analyzes were performed on a sample of 30 seedlings for each pear variety. Average results are presented using MS Excel software packages. Seedlings of grafted varieties on the basis of diameter did not meet the conditions of marketing, while on the basis of vegetative growth, three varieties met the conditions of marketing of planting material. The research was conducted within the project number 02 / 9-712-1-5-4 / 21. Grafted autochthonous varieties in the year of grafting showed extremely good adhesion with the vegetative rootstock BA-29, but did not have a good diameter. Due to the possibility of remanence, it is necessary to continue research after planting seedlings in plantations.

Organic agriculture is increasingly present on farms in response to environmental pollution and food safety. However, organic farmers have a big production risk due to frequent plant diseases. This research was conducted to compare the influence of preparations for plant protection allowed in organic agriculture and phytopharmaceutical preparations which are used in conventional agriculture and observe their effect in regulation of pests and diseases in tomato and cucumber production in an open field. The research included the tomato variety „Oxheart“, and the cucumber variety „Long green“. The time of research was four months from planting to harvest (period: May 2020. – August 2020.) until more than 70% of vegetation was completed. The tests were performed at a location in the rural part of the town of Živinice (Tupković) in an open field with an altitude of 250 m, during the vegetation period of 2020. The tests were performed on two separate plots. The plot where phytopharmaceutical (conventional) preparations were used, was physically separated from the plot where preparations allowed in organic agriculture were used. Temperature measurement was performed using a TFA Dostmann thermometer (-25ºC to + 50ºC) and it was set at a height of 2 meters in the open field. The amount of rainfall was monitored with the TFA Dostmann rain gauge. In the tests with organic plant protection, the nettle solution and preparation with active substance Bacillus thuringiensis for pests was used, and for plant diseases, the milk+soda solution and copper-oxide were used. In the tests with conventional protection, preparations with active substances acetamiprid and imidacloprid for pests were used, and the diseases were treated with mancozeb+copper and metalaxyl-M+mancozeb. After treatments, the onset of diseases was monitored. To conclude, the conventional insecticides gave better results in the regulation of pests in comparison to organic preparations, and in the case of organic preparations, the nettle solution had a better effect. Plant protection with copper-oxide gave the same results as using conventional preparations in disease regulation. This shows that plant protection is possible in organic production, but preparations must be applied more often and in a timely manner.

Plantation cultivation of grafted walnuts in Bosnia and Herzegovina did not exist until 6 years ago. Walnut seedlings (Juglans regia L) were mainly planted, which showed all the shortcomings related to the trees obtained from the seeds. In the last 5 years, there has been interest in planting grafted walnuts, so in this regard there was a need for controlled introduction of varieties suitable for this area. Research was conducted during 2020 - 2021 at four walnut tree cultivars, Chandler, Franquette, Fernor i Fernette. The aim of the research is to determine how certain varieties behave in agroecological conditions of the Majevica region and on that basis to give a proposal of the best variety for further spread in the area of this region. The research was conducted within the project number 02 / 9-712-1-5-3 / 21. The research was carried out at the Skakava Gornja site at an altitude of 192 m with a southwestern exposure (plot I) and a northeastern exposure at 172 m above sea level (plot II), with a terrain slope of 8%. The research related to vegetative growth included counting and measuring the average, then the minimum and maximum growth during two years. Yield monitoring included counting and measuring fruit number, average fruit size and calculating average yield. Generally the Chandler and Franquette varieties planted on the I plot had a stronger growth. Taking into account the vegetative growth, the number and size of fruits as well as the yield in the observed period, the Chandler and Franquette varieties are recommended for further expansion.

Cement dust is created as a by-product during the production of cement, and in its composition it contains high concentrations of calcium oxide (CaO), potassium oxide (K2O) and other important micro and macro elements. Due to its composition, it is suitable for correcting the pH of the soil, as well as for the uptake of essential elements by plants. The ability to accumulate essential and non-essential heavy metals also depends on the cultivated plant species, and vegetables show the greatest affinity for these elements. The application of cement dust as a soil additive used to improve the physico-chemical soil properties is examined in the paper. After the addition, the soil was mechanically cultivated and planting of the vegetable crop tomato was carried out. The content of essential elements and heavy metals was determined in the soil, cement dust, and tomato fruits grown on soil with and without the addition of cement dust. Due to the high pH value, high conductivity as well as the high content of CaO, it is very important to examine in real conditions how the addition of cement dust to the soil affects the formation of micro and macro elements as well as the content of heavy metals when growing tomatoes. The results showed that the cement kiln dust is an effective addition to the soil because it is a source of calcium, potassium and other essential elements without affecting the loss of quality or contamination with heavy metals during production.

UDK: 634.2:574.4]:502(497.6 “Konjuh“) The area of the protected landscape "Konjuh" is distinguished by quality forest ecosystems, featuring diverse fruit-bearing forest species, which contributes to the conservation of biodiversity of the protected landscape "Konjuh". The aim of the paper is to assess the state of biodiversity of fruit-bearing species in the forest ecosystems of the study area, with the emphasis on determining the genus richness as a basis for conservation (in/ex situ), breeding and economic use. During the vegetation season in 2015 and 2016, several relevés (phytosociological plot) were made in the Protected Landscape "Konjuh". The results of the research indicate the high level of variability for most of the species according to characteristics of biology, pomology, and ecology. The fruit trees, like the noble hardwood, are wild cherry, (Prunus avium L.), wild pear (Pyrus communis L.), wild apples (Malus sylvestris Mill.), Breccia (Torminalis clusii M. Roem.), Sorbus aria L. et all, Wild cherry, Vrapcarka (Prunus avium L.) is the most famous forest fruit grower, occurs as a single tree or in smaller groups (Noćajević, 2009). The benefits of fruit-bearing forest species are emphasized in the bloom and the fruiting time, when "decorated" forest provide a rich bee pasture and feeding nutriment for forest fauna (Orešković et al. 2006). Fruit-bearing Forest species are significant as the genera of the varieties and as a basis for the grafting for high-grade varieties. Also, they are important for humans from the aspect of ecology, nutrition, dietotherapy, pharmacology and bioenergy balance.

Pear as a fruit species has a special place because of its quality characteristic. The fact that about 20,000 pear seedlings are considered to be sold annually in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which are autochthonous or spontaneously expanded varieties, also speaks in favor. The main goal of this research is to analyze the genetic variability of nine autochthonous pear varieties in Tuzla Canton, Bosnia and Herzegovina to enable the conservation and expansion of existing genetic resources. The study included nine autochthonous pear varieties. Samples of young leaves were collected on the following localities: the town of Srebrenik, the town of Gradačac, the municipality of Čelić-Tuzla Canton, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the spring 2019. To determine genetic diversity, 12 SSR (Simple Sequence Repeats) markers were genotyped. There were no cases of synonyms or homonyms in the analyzed set. Each of the nine tested varieties represents a unique genotype. Autochthonous pear cultivars analyzed in this paper represent an interesting genetic resource, with useful agronomic traits that can be used in future cultivation.

Organic food production contributes to the preservation of human health, preservation and protection of the environment and increase of soil fertility, reduction of all forms of pollution as a consequence of intensive agricultural production and animal husbandry. Hence by purchasing products that carry the label organic product consumers indirectly affect the protection and preservation of the environment Organic food is food that is worth investing in due to the smaller amount of harmful substances in the products. Cornel cherry (Cornus mas L.) is one of the most suitable species for organic production. It is adaptable to various abiotic factors and is resistant to numerous pests and diseases. Aims: The aim of the study was to select promising dogwood phenotypes from the natural population for further reproduction by grafting. Study Design: The subject of the research was selected 6 self-growing dogwoods from a rural area. Place and Duration of Study: Samples of fruit were collected at the site of Ćehaje, City of Srebrenik,Tuzla Canton, BiH in the spring of 2019. Methodology: In order to determine the best traits, the measurement of physical quantities, determination of coefficients of variation and analysis of chemical characteristics of dogwood fruits harvested from trees of 6 wild phenotypes marked as DKA1, DKA2, DKA3, DKA4, DKA5 and DKA6 were performed. Results: Based on the analyzed indicators, the DKA6 phenotype showed the best results.

Aims: The basic precondition for apple breeding is the genetic diversity of varieties, which implies a large number of different, positive genes that enable adaptation to different weather conditions, resistance to new diseases and pests. One of the reliable sources of genetic diversity are indigenous varieties of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Their genetic identification is the first step in a process that has as its ultimate goal the collection of genetic material. The main goal of this research is to analyze the genetic variability of five indigenous varieties of apple in Tuzla Canton, Bosnia and Herzegovina in terms of contributing to the management of conservation and expansion of existing genetic resources, spreading this material through registered nurseries. Study Design: The research included fiveautochthonous apple varieties: "Ovčji nos“ “Dobrić“, "Šarenika“, "Rančica“ and "Petrovača“. Place and Duration of Study: Samples of young leaves were collected at the site of Donji Moranjci, City of Srebrenik,Tuzla Canton, Bosnia and Herzegovina in the spring of 2019. Methodology: In order to determine the genetic diversity of five indigenous apple varieties were genotyped ten SSR(Simple Sequence Repeats) markers. Results: No cases of synonyms or homonyms were found within the analyzed set.The results of the study indicate a pronounced differentiation, ie all five examined varieties represent unique genotypes. Conclusion: The examined sets of genotypes possess significant genetic variability, which is important especially when we consider that a relatively small number of samples have been analyzed.

In recent years, the topic of sustainability of return has been topical. A significant number, if not the vast majority, are in fact returnees to rural areas in the wider area of ​​Bosnia and Herzegovina. There are many objective reasons why this is so, but in this paper we will deal with the perspectives of sustainable return on the example of the region "Srednje Podrinje". Animal production imposes itself as the simplest form of production in order to engage existing resources owned by returnees, primarily land. However, one of the problems faced by the inhabitants of rural areas is the lack of knowledge about the markets for agricultural products, in connection with their chances but also threats.

The return of refugees and internally displaced persons is an activity in which all individuals are provided with the opportunity to return voluntarily, safely and with dignity to their homes that they had to leave during the conflict. Even after more than a decade, the problem of refugees and internally displaced persons is generally very topical [1]. Even eighteen years after the war, there are still many problems related to IDPs. It’s not just the return process that’s problematic. Displaced persons face various challenges related to access to employment, public services, education and infrastructure [2]. In Bosnia and Herzegovina (hereinafter BiH), during the 1992-1995 war, 2.2 million people were forced to flee their homes [3]. Upon return, returnees should seek restitution or compensation and should receive strong reintegration and rehabilitation support to build a livelihood and contribute to long-term economic and political development. Safe and voluntary return includes a guarantee of return choices and security for those who choose to return. The aim of the study was to examine the views of returnees on the problems in society faced by the population / returnees in three different time periods, in 1992, after return and today, to improve the conditions for sustainable return. Unemployment is ranked in the top three as the most significant problem of the population returning to their homes. The justice system, the problem of minorities, public funding, security, the slow EU accession process and climate change are not considered by returnees as significant problems for sustainable return.

Srebrenica, this small town in the northeastern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been described for centuries as a picturesque place, rich in healing waters, ores, and diverse cultural heritage. Today, Srebrenica is a symbol of suffering and suffering, but also of missed opportunities for the renewal of life and economy in this area. In the work we present, we deal with potentials that can renew life in the Srebrenica area. Thanks to its unique and very abundant natural resources, Srebrenica has been inhabited since ancient times, presumably since the Illyrians. Guber mineral water was used as a medicine for the treatment of skin diseases even before the arrival of the Romans in this area. The first written traces of mineral springs near Srebrenica were made by the Turkish travel writer Evlija Čelebija in the 17th century, traveling through BiH, and the Austro-Hungarians bottled the mineral water of the Spa "Guber" and sold it throughout the monarchy ("Guber-voda"). Mineral water has been bottled and exported since 1887. In 1886, the first scientific research of mineral springs was carried out in the area of the municipality of Srebrenica, when Viennese researchers recorded the existence of 48 mineral springs. Special attention of the Austro-Hungarian researcher prof. Dr. Ernes Ludwig was attracted by water from the source of the Velikog or Crni Guber, whose analysis was an excellent combination of minerals for the treatment of anemia. In 1956, the Federal Ministry of Health of the SFRY and the Federal Institute of Medicines Commissions from Belgrade declared Crni Guber water a medicine. Thus, Crni Guber water is the only water that has been declared a medicine in the former Yugoslavia. In the pre-war period, the total annual income of Banja Guber ranged from 1,200,000 to 1,500,000 US dollars. The company operated successfully until the last war in which, due to the war, there was a complete or partial destruction of certain facilities. The aim of this paper is to determine the potential impact of Srebrenica medicinal water resources on the development of tourism, agriculture and economy. Development of health tourism, increase of accommodation capacities, integration of agricultural producers and other activities enables rural development. By increasing the number of newly employed workers, household budgets, but also the overall economic development of Srebrenica, water could renew life in this area again.

In every country around the world, phytopathogenic fungi cause enormus economic damage. With the growth of the human population, the agricultural production has significantly increased in monoculture, which caused enlarged development of phytopathogenic fungi on crops, orchard et cetera. Over time phytopathogenic fungi developed resistance on standard agricultural agents. Because of this, it is necessary to find new ways in battle against these kinds of fungi.The experimental part of this paper covers usage of propolis solutions in battle against of the occurrence and development of phytopathogenic fungi Plasmoparaviticola and Taphrinadeformans in in vivo conditions on the grapevine (lat. Vitisvinifera) and peach (lat. Prunuspersica). The aim of the study is to determine, with all necessary measurements like pruning, fertilizing, irrigation, time of application of the solution and weather forecast,possibility ofusage propolis in influence on the occurrence and development of phytopathogenic fungi.In recent years, great efforts have been made to introduce natural disease control agents, such as propolis extract in alcohol and aqueous solution to reduce certain growth of phytopathogenic fungi in organic agriculture which can increase sustainable agricultural production.

Pepper (Capsicum anuum L.) is a one-year-oldr plant from theSolanaceaefamily.Due to its long vegetation (April to November) it represents the most profitable vegetable culture in greenhouses and is one of the most represented crops in the greenhouse production of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Pepper as a year-round culture has several ways of growing. The experimental part of the work was carried out in the Plant nursery Ltd Tuzla, with the aim of growing three different pepper hybrids on three different growing forms and determining which hybrid is best suited for a particular cultivation in terms of the number, size and quality of the fruits, ie. the yield of the plant and the speed of frut maturation. The tested pepper hybrids (´Vedrana F1´, ´Blondy F1´ i ´Bobita F1´) responded in various ways to the removal of offshoots and thus to the formation of different growing forms. The pruning of plants into a growing form with three trees accelerated the development of fruits in the hybrids 'Blondy F1' and 'Bobita F1'. Hibrid 'Vedrana F1' had slower growth than the other two hybrids during the experiment. The pruning of the plants also affected the weight of the fruit, so the heaviest fruits of the hybrid 'Vedrana F1' were in the growing form 3V, the 'Blondy F1' in the growing form 1V, while the hybrid 'Bobita F1' had the heaviest fruit in the 2V growing form. The growing form of the plants also affected the share of market and non-market fruits.

Indigenous fruit varieties are the wealth and natural resource of every country. Their importance is reflected, in addition to economic and biological, through the growing consumer interest in consuming fruits produced without the use of chemicals. Proper and accurate identification and preservation of valuable assortment has resulted in studies of the physicochemical and pomological properties of the fruits of ten pear varieties and their comparison with standard varieties. The usable value of pear fruits is multiple. It is used for liqueurs, vinegar, fruit salads, jams, jam, as dried fruit. The aim of the study is to determine the pomological and chemical properties of indigenous pear varieties and their comparison with standard pear varieties grown in northern Bosnia. The size of the fruit was quite different in the tested varieties and ranged from very small to extremely large fruits with the content of total acids slightly lower than the standard varieties. The research was supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Science as part of a scientific research project entitled "Investigation of phenological and pomological characteristics of indigenous pear varieties in north-eastern Bosnia".

Aim: The aim of this paper is to determine agroeconomic effects of intensifying the cultivation of fruits and the introduction of new technologies in fruit production. Methods: The project involved 150 farmers. The implementation of the projects took three years. Throughout the project, continuous theoretical training was provided in the form of lectures and presentations, as well as practical training of individuals and groups of 15-20 farmers. Results: Gradacac area (Bosnia and Herzegovina) has favorable conditions for intensive cultivation of canopy fruit. In addition to the favorable agro-environmental conditions and many unemployed people as well as the tradition of fruit cultivation, they encouraged the Lutheran World Federation -LWF to implement project of intensive fruit farming. The economy of canopy fruit production is conditioned by many factors: the choice of variety, rootstock, training system and location, moreover the intensity of application of agro and pomotechnical treatments, production costs and market price. Intensive fruit production has its specific features and large investments, but as a result it can be said that it is economically viable. The project organized for the first time in this area continuous education and long-term monitoring, introduced new grounds, a new training system and maintaining orchards. Conclusion: It is very important to note that for the Municipality of Gradacac the inflow of funds of over BAM 2 million is enabled every year during the period of full fruiting.

The study included 30 autochthonous pears with analysis of the following parameters: blooming time, fruit ripening time, fruit weight, fruit height, fruit width, fruit index, fruit juice length, pH value of juice, total acidity mmol / 100 g, total acidity (%), pectin substances % Ca-pectate, raw fiber %, vitamin C mg / 100 g, natural invert sugar%, total invert sugar %, total phenol mg / 100 g fruit, soluble dry substance (° Brix).The aim of the research is to study the phenological and pomological characteristics of a detailed description of autochthonous varieties and to make chemical analysis of the fruit of a recommendation on the value of the fruit of the most interesting autochthonous pears in north-eastern Bosnia. This would at the same time create preconditions for recording these varieties on the sort list of Bosnia and Herzegovina and their further reproduction and marketing.The fruits of domestic varieties are seldom available. Given the opinion that domestic varieties are more resistant to diseases and some pests, they do not require a large number of chemical treatments and require no intensive care can be more easily adapted to organic cultivation, which is a trend in fruit productionThe differences in the blooming dynamics of autochthonous varieties of BiH indicate that this is an important detail that must be take care when expanding them, that is, introducing them into plantation cultivation and selecting pollinator varieties. The obtained values of soluble dry matter for all tested pear varieties (except Kajzerica kasna 9.75 Brix) had a value greater than 10.0˚ Brix, and according to this parameter, are suitable for marketing and processing according to the current legislation. The native varieties examined in this paper had values from 0.10 to 0.58% from the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the tested varieties were not supplied with Ca-pectate. Based on the average content of vitamin C in the fruit of the pear, it can be concluded that the tested autochthonous and domestic varieties have an extremely good content of vitamin C, 15 out of 20 varieties have a higher content of vitamin C than the average or 75%. Research has been supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Science within the framework of a scientific research project entitled "Investigating the phenological and pompological characteristics of indigenous pears in Northeast Bosnia".

Organic farming takes up more and more areas in agricultural production. It is based on the principles of preserving human and animal health and maintaining the balance in agrobiocenosis and therefore prohibits the use of a majority of water-soluble mineral fertilizers and phytopharmaceuticals of chemical origin (except those from the list of allowed products). In ecological farming of plums, optimization of fertilization is very important, which must comply with ecological principles and regulations which included fertilization with a relatively narrow range of allowed organic fertilizers (manure, compost, manure, slurry, peat, guano, sawdust) and mineral additives (calcium carbonate, crude phosphates, basic slag, raw potassium salt, potassium sulphate, gypsum, wood ash, calcium chloride, sodium chloride, etc.). Nutrition methods in organic plum production are different from nutrition in conventional production, primarily due to a limited selection of available fertilizers, and the most important difference is the inability to use water-soluble individual and complex fertilizers. It is precisely for this reason that in organic agriculture, the emphasis on maintaining humidity, optimum pH and soil moisture is considerably more important than necessary prerequisites for sufficient availability of nutrients in the soil.

Introduction:Autochthonous apple cultivars are present in the life of the population of almost every country. They have economic imporance, especially in the nourishment of the population, as well as very valuable genetic material in breeding process. There is little literature based on scientific methods related to the description of these varieties. Mostly the descriptions of local apple varieties are given through folk tales and poems. Task of the paper: The aim of this research is the description of autochthonous apple cultivars and creation of preconditions for their registration and their placing in the Bosnian and Herzegovina's list of culti-vars. Results and discussion: Varieties of apples covered by this work were monitored for two years in an ex situ collection of autochthonous apple cultivars in Špionica, municipality of Srebrenik. The description of fruits is given through the following parameters: fruit weight, axis height and diameter, fruit index, length of fruit stalk, depth of calix end and firmness of fruits. The results are statistically processed and presented in tables and graphs. Conclusion: Due to the diversity of the pomological characteristics of autochthonous apple cultivars, their quality and purpose of fruits and because of the longevity that is result of their resistance to unfavorable abiotic and biotic factors of growing, they represent a real small treasure because they are a source of genetic diversity and a factor of biodiversity.

Acid reaction and nutritional imbalances, mainly low levels of plant available phosphorus (P) are often limiting factors of soil fertility in Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H). The aim of this study was testing the impact of ameliorative P fertilization on soil properties and status of maize and wheat on acid soil (pH in 1n KCl: 4.0) of Tuzla Canton in B&H. The experiment of increasing rates of P fertilization has been started in spring of 2013. The experiment was conducted by randomized complete block design in four replicates (basic plot 63 m2 ). Monoammonium phosphate (12% N + 52% P2O5) was added to standard fertilization (kg ha-1: 150 N + 50 P2O5 + 50 K2O) in amounts as follows (P2O5 kg ha-1): 75, 475, 875, 1275 and 1675. In the next two years only standard fertilization was applied for crop rotation maize (2013) – maize (2014: crop was complete damaged by flood) – winter wheat (2014/2015). By increasing P rates the contents of mobile P were increased from 7.66 mg P2O5 100 g-1 to 20.10 mg P2O5 100 g-1 or 2.6 times. Also, maize yields were considerably increased up to 17%. (6.68 and 7.82 t ha-1, for control and the highest rate of applied P, respectively). Yield of wheat was significantly increased by P fertilization up to 14% (4.35 and 5.02 t ha-1, for control and the highest P rate respectively). However, for significant improvement of baking quality parameters (protein, wet gluten and sedimentation) the lowest P rate in level 475 kg P ha-1 was sufficient.

The aim of this study was to test the impact of monthly precipitation and temperature regimes on winter wheat yields in Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H) for the last 15-year period (2000-2014) with an emphasis on its administrative parts Federation of B&H (FB&H) and Tuzla Canton (TC: from 2005-2014 period). Winter wheat is an important field crop in B&H, but yields are low, (average of 3.24 t ha-1) with very high variation among years (from 2.26 to 3.92 t ha-1). We estimated that yield differences are mainly due to weather variability. Average temperature in Tuzla (October-June) was 8.3°C in the last 15 years or 0.9°C higher than the 1 961-1990 and 1925- 1940 averagesPrecipitation close to the 30-year average (663 mm, 642 mm and 636 mm) and their balanced monthly distribution characterized three growing seasons favorable for wheat (2007/2008, 2008/2009 and 2012/2013, respectively). Also, the temperature regime was without excessive cold or warm periods in these years. Under these conditions, wheat yields were considerably higher (3.7, 3.8 and 3.9 t ha-1, respectively) than in three estimated unfavorable years (2002/2003, 2009/2010 and 2013/2014 with 2.3, 2.7 and 2.9 t ha-1, respectively). Weather deviations as either drought or excessive precipitation in combination with high temperatures characterized estimated less favorable years. Tuzla Canton had about 5% of the national wheat harvested area, whereas yields were somewhat higher compared to the country average. Although it is evident that yields of wheat and weather conditions in B&H are very different between years, by performing simple correlation analysis there was found a minimal connection of precipitation and temperature with yields. Significant negative correlations were found only in level TC between yields and monthly values of precipitation in April (-0.88**), May (-0.70**) and total precipitation (-0.73**). Also, significant positive correlations were found between April (0.76**) and May (0.62*) temperature and yields.

Pomological characterisation of pears of the so-called “Lubenicarka” (watermelon pear) group has been based on three genotypes identified in numerous vegetative progeny as part of the native assortment of Bosnia and Herzegovina. “Krupna Lubenicarka” (common watermelon pear) variety was recommended for the expansion of production at the beginning of the XX century, and there were two more genotypes (“Crna Lubenicarka” (black watermelon pear) and “Bijela Lubenicarka” (white watermelon pear)) that were listed under the common name of “Lubenicarka”. The research results show that “Krupna Lubenicarka” variety has vegetative progeny characterised by stable pomological features which clearly and reliably determine this variety. “Crna” and “Bijela Lubenicarka” genotypes are characterised by certain pomological distinctions that clearly make them different, but also by some similarities, whose variability raises up the question of their reliable pomological and genetic characterisation. Morphometric analyses of the fruit and leaf of “Krupna Lubenicarka” variety and “Crna” and “Bijela Lubenicarka” genotypes represent their first pomological characterisation that can be adopted as a reliable foundation for collecting, further pomological studies and genetic characterisation.
