Abstract

The electrical, optical, and magneto-optical properties of La0.69Ba0.31MnO3-delta thin films with a Curie temperature near room temperature are studied. It is shown that in the region of the phase transition there is a sharp change in the behavior of the temperature dependences of the electrical resistance and optical transparency of the films, which is associated with the insulator-metal transition. In a narrow temperature region near the transition, a change in the external magnetic field leads to the appearance of negative magnetoresistance and magnetotransmission of unpolarized light in the spectral range from 1 to 12 μm. It is shown that the effect of magnetic transmission (magnetoabsorption) in films is mainly due to the contribution of free charge carriers. The magnetic transmission spectra are sensitive to the magnetic and electronic inhomogeneities of the films. Abstract

A new emerging branch of spintronics – strain-magnetooptics has been created due to a direct observation of correlation between magnetoelastic properties and absorption of unpo-larized light in the infrared range in CoFe2O4 single crystals with high magnetostriction. Abstract

Dendroflora of Molodejney’ park of Dnipropetrovsk has been analysed. Species structure of the park is presented by 3912 plant exemplars belonging to the 44 species from 21 families. The dominant arboreal species are Robinia pseudoacacia L., Ulmus laevis Pall. and Acer platanoides L. Introduced arboreal plants are 56,10% compared to their total amount. Half of the identified species originate from North America. The families are usually represented by 1-3 species. The leading families are Rosaceae (6 species), Salicaceae (5 species), Cupressaceae (4 species).By relatively to moisture greater amount of plants plantations is xerophytes (28,42%) and xeromesophytes (33,48%), that corresponds the arid conditions of northern steppes of Ukraine; to soil fertility – megatrophes (51,99%), that demonstrates the need for feeding of plants during the growing season and strict selection range in the conditions of reconstruction; to irradiation – heliophilous (56,31%), but some light-loving plants from the beginning were planted near the trees that have reached the first magnitude, and were under the tent crowns of these trees. By level to the resistance to anthropogenic pollution of about half of the trees of the park are resistant and relatively resistant species. Analysis of the ratio of high resistant, resistant, low resistant and non-resistant species indicates that during the laying of the park was not considered the closeness of the territory of Western industrial unit, which is a significant source of pollution. By phytosanitary condition of about half of all plantations (46,83%) belongs to the second category – the weakening. This is mainly copies of Ligustrum vulgare L., Juglans regia L., Acer platanoides L., Spiraea ´ vanhouttei L. etc. No indications of damage are found only 11,94% of the plants.The deadwood of the current year is 1,8% and the deadwood of previous years is 0,7%. The most common injuries were found are drying branches, outgrowths, frost fissures, entomophages destructions., Проведено аналіз дендрофлори насаджень Молодіжного парку м. Дніпропетровськ. Видовий склад парку представлений 3912 екз. рослин, які належать до 44 видів. Домінуючими деревними породами є робінія звичайна, в’яз гладкий і клен гостролистий. Інтродуковані види складають 56,10% від загальної кількості, половина з яких походять з Північної Америки. Родини представлені 1-3 видами, за винятком родин Кипарисові, Розові, Вербові. За відношенням до вологи більшу кількість насаджень парку складають ксерофіти і ксеромезофіти, до родючості ґрунту – мегатрофи, до освітлення – світлолюбні. За ступенем стійкості до антропогенного забруднення близько половини дерев парку відноситься до стійких і відносно стійких видів. Встановлено неповну відповідність асортименту деревної рослинності абіотичним і антропогенним чинникам, що існують на дослідній території. За фітосанітарним станом біля половини всіх насаджень (46,83%) належить до другої категорії – ослаблені. Без ознак пошкодження виявлено лише 11,94% рослин.

29. Influence of soil moisture level on metabolism of non-structural carbohydrates in Quercus roburleaves.

Abstract

The long-term increases in average temperature and intensification of droughts which characterise the current state of the Earth’s climate system have a negative impact on forest ecosystems and can lead to a decrease in their area and deterioration of the living conditions of their components. In the conditions of the Ukrainian Steppe an important environmental, antierosion, water-protective and soil-protective role belongs to the ravine forests. The most valuable component of the ravine forests is presented by natural populations of common oak (Quercus robur L.), which are able to tolerate the arid climate typical of the steppe region. But with global warming, the endurance of this species is changing. It is believed that a significant role in plant adaptation to drought and high temperatures may belong to non-structural carbohydrates. Therefore, it is important to study changes in the concentration of these substances in the leaves of this leading species under the action of adverse hydrothermal conditions. The article analyzes the content and dynamics of soluble sugars (glucose, fructose, sucrose) and starch in the leaves of Quercus robur L. under different forest growth conditions of the ravine forest (hygromesophilic (CL2–3), mesoxerophilic (CL1) and xerophilic (CL0)). The research was conducted in the forest in the Viyskove area (steppe zone of Ukraine) in the thalweg and at different levels of slope of southern exposure. Content of glucose, fructose, sugar and starch in Quercus roburleaves was determined. It was found that when exposed to high temperatures and increasing water stress during the vegetation period in xerophilic (CL0–1) and mesoxerophilic (CL1) forest growth conditions, the concentration of both glucose and sucrose in the leaves of Q. robur increases and it becomes much higher than in conditions of more optimal water supply. At the same time, the disaccharide content increases more significantly than that of monosaccharide. The greatest amount of these sugars is observed in the driest months (July, August), when conditions for providing plants with water are the most stressful. When water stress grows the increase in concentration of glucose and sucrose is correlated with reduction of starch content. It has been found that the concentration of fructose in Q. robur leaves in droughty conditions of growing was comparable to more favourable conditions of moisture. In September, there is a decline in the content of all forms of non-structural carbohydrates in the leaves of plants of all variants compared to the previous month, especially in conditions of adverse water supply. Therefore, forest growth conditions do not affect the nature of the dynamics of soluble sugars and starch in the leaves of Q.robur, although they change their quantitative indicators. Based on the protective function of sugars under the action of stressors on plants, we can assume that in conditions of significant lack of moisture in the soil their accumulation in the leaves in areas with mesoxerophilic and xerophilic hygrotopes plays an important role in increasing Q. robur drought resistance. Abstract

Рассмотрено применение устройства ввода-вывода RL-88AC для автоматизации физических экспериментов. Реализована возможность формирования необходимых сигналов управления и записи данных в ПК по 8 каналам. Осуществлена автоматизация экспериментов по регистрации спектра масс, вольт-амперных характеристик, предпробойных процессов на поверхности изоляторов. Реализована система автоматизации измерений рентгеновского фотоэлектронного спектрометра. Оригинальное программное обеспечение для каждой задачи написано на языке VBA в среде MS Excel. Applications of input-output device RL-88AC for physical experiments automation are considered. This device allows the formation of necessary control signals and provides data registration by PC up to 8 channels. The automation of experiments with registration of massspectra, volt-ampere characteristics and pre-breakdown insulator surface processes has been carried out. The measurement system for X-ray photoelectron spectrometer has been realized. The original software using VBA for MS Excel has been developed for every task. 44. Magnetoreflection and magnetooptical Kerr effect in La2/3Ba1/3MnO3films at room temperature

Abstract

Results of studies of magnetooptical Kerr effect and magnetoreflection of natural light in La2/3Ba1/3MnO3/SrTiO3films of different thickness are presented. The Kerr effect was shown to be the most prominent in visible and near IR range; magnetoreflection was found to achieve its maximum of about 10% in the mid-IR range near the room temperature. Physical mechanisms defining the value and sign of the effects and the influence of the thin-film state on the magnetooptical properties are discussed. Magnetoreflection is estimated in the framework of the magnetorefractive effect theory.

Abstract

Twenty-five children aged 2-14 years with isolated and combined craniocerebral injury were examined. Some of them underwent urgent neurosurgical interventions. Mechanical injury and intervention were regarded as aggressive factors. The basic methods were indirect calorimetry and intravenous prolonged glucose and fat tolerance test. The results indicate that in general, the intensity of basal metabolism and the ratio of oxidized energy substrates in children with craniocerebral injury correspond to the course of standard postaggressive reaction. Time course of changes in RQ, structure and share of basic energy substrates in the total energy produced confirm a general biological regularity of postaggressive metabolism: fat is oxidized predominantly during the initial period, while on day 5 inversion of fat and glucose oxidation values is observed.
