Accurately characterizing intrinsic stellar photometric noise induced by stellar astrophysics, such as stellar activity, granulation, and oscillations, is of crucial importance for detecting transiting exoplanets. In this study, we investigate the relation between the intrinsic stellar photometric noise, as quantified by the Kepler rrmsCDPP measurement, and the level of stellar chromospheric activity, as indicated by the S-index of Ca II HK lines derived from the LAMOST spectra. Our results reveal a clear positive correlation between S-index and rrmsCDPP, and the correlation becomes more significant at higher activity levels and on longer timescales. We have therefore built an empirical relation between rrmsCDPP and S-index as well as Teff, logg, [Fe/H], and apparent magnitude with the XGBoost regression algorithm, using the LAMOST-Kepler common star sample as the training set. This method achieves a precision of ~20 ppm for inferring the intrinsic noise from the S-index and other stellar labels on a 6-hour integration duration. We have applied this empirical relation to the full LAMOST DR7 spectra database, and obtained the intrinsic noise predictions for 1,358,275 stars. The empirical relations between rotation period, chromospheric activity, and age can be used to estimate stellar age. To calibrate these relations, we present a catalog, including the masses and ages of 52,321 FGK dwarfs, 47,489 chromospheric activity index $logR^{+}_{HK}$, 6,077 rotation period $P_{rot}$ and variability amplitude $S_{ph}$, based on data from LAMOST DR7, Kepler and Gaia DR3. We find a pronounced correlation among $P_{rot}$, age, and [Fe/H] throughout the main-sequence phase for F dwarfs. However, the decrease of $logR^{+}_{HK}$ over time is not significant except for those with [Fe/H] $<$ $-$0.1. For G dwarfs, both $P_{rot}$ and $logR^{+}_{HK}$ are reliable age probes in the ranges $\sim$ 2-11 Gyr and $\sim$ 2-13 Gyr, respectively. K dwarfs exhibit a prominent decrease in $logR^{+}_{HK}$ within the age range of $\sim$ 3-13 Gyr when the relation of $P_{rot}-\tau$ is invalid. These relations are very important for promptly estimating the age of a vast number of stars, thus serving as a powerful tool in advancing the fields of exoplanet properties, stellar evolution, and Galactic-archaeology.

Based on all 2-minute cadence $TESS$ light curves from Sector 1 to 60, we provide a catalog of 8,651 solar-like oscillators, including frequency at maximum power ($\nu_{\rm max}$, with its median precision, $\sigma$=5.39\%), large frequency separation ($\Delta\nu$, $\sigma$=6.22\%), seismically derived masses, radii, and surface gravity. In this sample, we have detected 2,173 new oscillators and added 4,373 new $\Delta\nu$ measurements. Our seismic parameters are consistent with those from $Kepler$, $K2$, and previous $TESS$ data. The median fractional residual in $\nu_{\rm max}$ is $1.63\%$ with a scatter of $14.75\%$, and in $\Delta\nu$ it is $0.11\%$ with a scatter of $10.76\%$. We have detected 476 solar-like oscillators with $\nu_{\rm max}$ exceeding the $Nyquist$ frequency of $Kepler$ long-cadence data during the evolutionary phases of sub-giant and the base of the red-giant branch, which provide a valuable resource for understanding angular momentum transport.

We present the discoveries of two giant planets orbiting the red giant branch (RGB) star HD 112570 and the red clump (RC) star HD 154391, based on the radial velocity (RV) measurements from Xinglong station and Okayama Astrophysical Observatory (OAO). Spectroscopic and asteroseismic analyses suggest that HD 112570 has a mass of $1.15\pm0.12\,M_{\odot}$, a radius of $9.85\pm0.23\,R_{\odot}$, a metallicity [Fe/H] of $-0.46\pm0.1$ and a ${\rm log}\,g$ of $2.47\pm0.1$. With the joint analysis of RV and Hipparcos-Gaia astrometry, we obtain a dynamical mass of $M_{\rm p}={3.42}_{-0.84}^{+1.4}\ M_{\rm Jup}$, a period of $P={2615}_{-77}^{+85}$ days and a moderate eccentricity of $e={0.20}_{-0.14}^{+0.16}$ for the Jovian planet HD 112570 b. For HD 154391, it has a mass of $2.07\pm0.03\,M_{\odot}$, a radius of $8.56\pm0.05\,R_{\odot}$, a metallicity [Fe/H] of $0.07\pm0.1$ and a ${\rm log}\,g$ of $2.86\pm0.1$. The super-Jupiter HD 154391 b has a mass of $M_{\rm p}={9.1}_{-1.9}^{+2.8}\ M_{\rm Jup}$, a period of $P={5163}_{-57}^{+60}$ days and an eccentricity of $e={0.20}_{-0.04}^{+0.04}$. We found HD 154391 b has one of the longest orbital period among those ever discovered orbiting evolved stars, which may provide a valuable case in our understanding of planetary formation at wider orbits. Moreover, while a mass gap at $4\,M_{\rm Jup}$ seems to be present in the population of giant stars, there appears to be no significant differences in the distribution of metallicity among giant planets with masses above or below this threshold. Blue large-amplitude pulsators (BLAPs) are hot low-mass stars which show large-amplitude light variations likely due to radial oscillations driven by iron-group opacities. Period changes provide evidence of both secular contraction and expansion amongst the class. Various formation histories have been proposed, but none are completely satisfactory. \citet{Zhang2017} proposed that the merger of a helium core white dwarf with a low-mass main-sequence star (HeWD+MS) can lead to the formation of some classes of hot subdwarf. We have analyzed these HeWD+MS merger models in more detail. Between helium-shell ignition and full helium-core burning, the models pass through the volume of luminosity -- gravity-- temperature space occupied by BLAPs. Periods of expansion and contraction associated with helium-shell flashes can account for the observed rates of period change. The Milky Way has undergone significant transformations in its early history, characterised by violent mergers and the accretion of satellite galaxies. Among these events, the infall of the satellite galaxy Gaia-Enceladus/Sausage is recognised as the last major merger event, fundamentally altering the evolution of the Milky Way and shaping its chemo-dynamical structure. However, recent observational evidence suggests that the Milky Way remains undergone notable events of star formation in the past 4 Gyr, which is thought to be triggered by the perturbations from Sagittarius dwarf galaxy (Sgr). Here we report chemical signatures of the Sgr accretion event in the past 4 Gyr, using the [Fe/H] and [O/Fe] ratios in the thin disc, which is reported for the first time. It reveals that the previously discovered V-shape structure of age-[Fe/H] relation varies across different Galactic locations and has rich substructures. Interestingly, we discover a discontinuous structure at z$_{\rm max}$ $<$ 0.3 kpc, interrupted by a recent burst of star formation from 4 Gyr to 2 Gyr ago. In this episode, we find a significant rise in oxygen abundance leading to a distinct [O/Fe] gradient, contributing to the formation of young O-rich stars. Combined with the simulated star formation history and chemical abundance of Sgr, we suggest that the Sgr is an important actor in the discontinuous chemical evolution of the Milky Way disc., Comment: 17 pages, 15 figures. Varying oxygen abundance could impact the modeling-inferred ages. This work aims to estimate the ages of dwarfs considering observed oxygen abundance. To characterize 67,503 LAMOST and 4,006 GALAH FGK-type dwarf stars, we construct a grid of stellar models which take into account oxygen abundance as an independent model input. Compared with ages determined with commonly-used $\alpha$-enhanced models, we find a difference of $\sim$9% on average when the observed oxygen abundance is considered. The age differences between the two types of models are correlated to [Fe/H] and [O/$\alpha$], and they are relatively significant on stars with [Fe/H] $\lesssim$ -0.6 dex. Generally, varying 0.2 dex in [O/$\alpha$] will alter the age estimates of metal-rich (-0.2 $<$ [Fe/H] $<$ 0.2) stars by $\sim$10%, and relatively metal-poor (-1 $<$ [Fe/H] $<$ -0.2) stars by $\sim$15%. Of the low-O stars with [Fe/H] $<$ 0.1 dex and [O/$\alpha$] $\sim$ -0.2 dex, many have fractional age differences of $\geq$ 10%, and even reach up to 27%. The fractional age difference of high-O stars with [O/$\alpha$] $\sim$ 0.4 dex reaches up to -33% to -42% at [Fe/H] $\lesssim$ -0.6 dex. We also analyze the chemical properties of these stars. We find a decreasing trend of [Fe/H] with age from 7.5-9 Gyr to 5-6.5 Gyr for the stars from the LAMOST and GALAH. This paper reports estimated stellar parameters of 1,153 Kepler red giant branch stars determined with asteroseismic modeling. We use radial-mode oscillation frequencies, gravity-mode period spacings, Gaia luminosities, and spectroscopic data to characterize these stars. Compared with previous studies, we find that the two additional observed constraints, i.e., the gravity-mode period spacing and luminosity, significantly improve the precision of fundamental stellar parameters. The typical uncertainties are 2.9% for the mass, 11% for the age, 1.0% for the radius, 0.0039 dex for the surface gravity, and 0.5\% for the helium core mass, making this the best-characterized large sample of red-giant stars available to date. With better characterizations for these red giants, we recalibrate the seismic scaling relations and study the surface term on the red-giant branch. Main Sequence Turn-off stars (MSTO) and subgiant stars are good tracers of galactic populations. We present a study of 41,034 MSTO and subgiant stars from the GALAH survey. Using a grid of stellar models that accounts for the variation of O abundances, we determine their ages with a median age uncertainty of $\sim$9.4 per cent. Our analysis reveals that the ages of high-O stars based on O-enhanced models (OEM models) are smaller than those determined with $\alpha$-enhanced models, resulting in a mean fractional age difference of -5.3 per cent at [O/$\alpha$] = 0.2 and -11.0 per cent at [O/$\alpha$] = 0.4. This age difference significantly impacts the age distribution of thick disc and halo stars, leading to a steeper downward trend in the [Fe/H]-age plane from 8 Gyr to 14 Gyr, indicating a shorter formation time-scale and a faster chemical-enhanced history for these populations. We confirm the V-shape of the normalized age-metallicity distribution $p$($\tau$$\mid$[Fe/H]) of thin disc stars, which is presumably a consequence of the second gas infall. Additionally, we find that the halo stars in our sample can be divided into two sequences, a metal-rich sequence (Splash stars) and a metal-poor sequence (accreted stars), with the Splash stars predominantly older than 9 Gyr and the accreted halo stars older than 10 Gyr. Finally, we observe two distinct sequences in the relations between various chemical abundances and age for disc stars, namely a young sequence with ages $<$ $\sim$8 Gyr and an old sequence with ages $>$ $\sim$8 Gyr., Comment: 11 pages, 12 figures

With the calculated guiding center radius $R_{guiding}$ and birth radius $R_{birth}$, we investigate the role of radial migration on the description of lithium evolution in the Galactic disk based on the upper envelope of the A(Li) vs. [Fe/H] diagram. Using migration distances, we find that stars in the solar neighborhood are born at different locations in the galactic disk, and cannot all be explained by models of chemical evolution in the solar neighborhood. It is found that the upper envelope of the A(Li) vs. [Fe/H] diagram varies significantly with $R_{birth}$, which explains the decrease of Li for super-metal-rich (SMR) stars because they are non-young stars born in the inner disk. The upper envelope of Li-$R_{birth}$ plane fits very well with chemical evolution models by Grisoni et al. for $R_{birth} = 7 - 12$ kpc, outside which young stars generally lack sufficient time to migrate to the solar neighborhood. For stars born in the solar neighborhood, the young open clusters and the upper envelope of field stars with age $<$ 3 Gyr fit well with theoretical prediction. We find that calculations using stars with ages less than 3 Gyr are necessary to obtain an undepleted Li upper envelope, and that stars with solar age (around 4.5 Gyr) have depleted around 0.3 dex from the original value based on the chemical evolution model of Grisoni et al., Comment: 7 pages, 5 figures, accepted for publication in MNRAS

Recently, CHIME/FRB project published its first fast radio burst (FRB) catalog (hereafter, Catalog 1), which totally contains 536 unique bursts. With the help of the latest set of FRBs in this large-size catalog, we aim to investigate the dispersion measure (DM) or redshift ($z$) distribution of the FRB population, and solution of this problem could be used to clarify the question of FRB origin. In this study, we adopted the M\&E 2018 model, to fit the observed $z$ distribution of FRBs in Catalog 1. In the M\&E 2018 model, we are mostly interested in the $\Phi(z)$ function, i.e., number of bursts per proper time per comoving volume, which is represented by the star formation rate (SFR) with a power-law index $n$. Our estimated value of $n$ is $0.0_{-0.0}^{+0.6}$ ($0.0_{-0.0}^{+2.1}$) at the 68 (95) per cent confidence level, implying that the FRB population evolves with redshift consistent with, or faster than, the SFR. We propose to develop a wide-field and ultra-high-precision photometric survey mission, temporarily named "Earth 2.0 (ET)". This mission is designed to measure, for the first time, the occurrence rate and the orbital distributions of Earth-sized planets. ET consists of seven 30cm telescopes, to be launched to the Earth-Sun's L2 point. Six of these are transit telescopes with a field of view of 500 square degrees. Staring in the direction that encompasses the original Kepler field for four continuous years, this monitoring will return tens of thousands of transiting planets, including the elusive Earth twins orbiting solar-type stars. The seventh telescope is a 30cm microlensing telescope that will monitor an area of 4 square degrees toward the galactic bulge. This, combined with simultaneous ground-based KMTNet observations, will measure masses for hundreds of long-period and free-floating planets. Together, the transit and the microlensing telescopes will revolutionize our understandings of terrestrial planets across a large swath of orbital distances and free space. Asteroseismology has become widely accepted as a benchmark for accurate and precise fundamental stellar properties. It can therefore be used to validate and calibrate stellar parameters derived from other approaches. Meanwhile, one can leverage large-volume surveys in photometry, spectroscopy, and astrometry to infer stellar parameters over a wide range of evolutionary stages, independently of asteroseismology. Our pipeline, SEDEX, compares the spectral energy distribution predicted by the MARCS and BOSZ model spectra with 32 photometric bandpasses, combining data from 9 major, large-volume photometric surveys. We restrict the analysis to targets with available spectroscopy from the APOGEE, GALAH, and RAVE surveys to lift the temperature-extinction degeneracy. The cross-survey atmospheric parameter and uncertainty estimates are homogenized with artificial neural networks. Validation of our results with CHARA interferometry, HST CALSPEC spectrophotometry, and asteroseismology, shows that we achieve high precision and accuracy. We present a catalog of improved interstellar extinction ($\sigma_{A_V} \simeq$ 0.14 mag) and stellar radii ($\sigma_R/R \simeq$ 7.4\%) for $\sim$1.5 million stars in the low- to high-extinction ($A_V \lesssim 6 $ mag) fields observed by the spectroscopic surveys. We derive global extinctions for 184 Gaia DR2 open clusters, and confirm the differential extinction in NGC 6791 and NGC 6819 that have been subject to extensive asteroseismic analysis. Furthermore, we report 36,854 double-lined spectroscopic main-sequence binary candidates. A star expands to become a red giant when it has fused all the hydrogen in its core into helium. If the star is in a binary system, its envelope can overflow onto its companion or be ejected into space, leaving a hot core and potentially forming a subdwarf-B star. However, most red giants that have partially transferred envelopes in this way remain cool on the surface and are almost indistinguishable from those that have not. Among $\sim$7000 helium-burning red giants observed by NASA's Kepler mission, we use asteroseismology to identify two classes of stars that must have undergone dramatic mass loss, presumably due to stripping in binary interactions. The first class comprises about 7 underluminous stars with smaller helium-burning cores than their single-star counterparts. Theoretical models show that these small cores imply the stars had much larger masses when ascending the red giant branch. The second class consists of 32 red giants with masses down to 0.5 M$_\odot$, whose implied ages would exceed the age of the universe had no mass loss occurred. The Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST), also known as the Guoshoujing Telescope, is a major national scientific facility for astronomical research located in Xinglong, China. Beginning with a pilot survey in 2011, LAMOST has been surveying the night sky for more than 10 years. The LAMOST survey covers various objects in the Universe, from normal stars to peculiar ones, from the Milky Way to other galaxies, and from stellar black holes and their companions to quasars that ignite ancient galaxies. Until the latest data release 8, the LAMOST survey has released spectra for more than 10 million stars, ~220,000 galaxies, and ~71,000 quasars. With this largest celestial spectra database ever constructed, LAMOST has helped astronomers to deepen their understanding of the Universe, especially for our Milky Way galaxy and the millions of stars within it. In this article, we briefly review the characteristics, observations, and scientific achievements of LAMOST. Main sequence turn-off (MSTO) stars are good tracers of Galactic populations since their ages can be reliably estimated from atmospheric parameters. Based on the GALAH survey, we use the Yale Rotation Evolution Code to determine ages of 2926 MSTO stars with mean age uncertainty $\sim$10\% considering the variation of C and O abundances. Ages of CO-poor stars are systematically affected by $\sim$10\% due to the C and O abundances, globally shifting to $\sim$0.5 Gyr older compared to the results using solar metal-mixture. Of the stars with \mbox{[Fe/H] $\sim$0.3-0.5} or \mbox{[O/Fe]~$\leq$~-0.25}, many have fractional age differences~$\geq$~20\%, and even reach up to 36\%. The age-metallicity relation appears to possibly exist two distinct sequences: a young sequence of stars with age mostly $<$ 7 Gyr, and a relatively older sequence of stars with age mostly $>$ 7 Gyr, overlapping at 5 Gyr $\leq$~age~$\leq$ 7 Gyr. Moreover, the trends of abundances to age ratios show two corresponding sequences, especially in [O/Fe]-age plane. We also find that [Y/Mg] is a good chemical clock in disk populations. The young sequence and the old sequence can not be separated based on chemistry or kinematics, therefore stellar age is an important parameter to distinguish these two sequences in our sample., Comment: 15 pages, 13 figures, accepted for publication in ApJ

The paper presents a correction to the scaling relations for red-giant stars using model-based masses and radii. We measure radial-mode frequencies from Kepler observations for 3,642 solar-like oscillators on the red-giant branch and use them to characterise the stars with the grid-based modeling. We determine fundamental stellar parameters with good precision: the typical uncertainty is 4.5% for mass, 16% for age, 0.006 dex for surface gravity, and 1.7% for radius. We also achieve good accuracy for estimated masses and radii, based on comparing with those determined for eclipsing binaries. We find a systematic offset of ~15% in mass and ~7% in radius between the modeling solutions and the scaling relations. Further investigation indicates that these offsets are mainly caused by a systematic bias in the Delta nu scaling relation: the original scaling relation underestimates Delta nu value by ~4%, on average, and it is important to correct for the surface term in the calibration. We find no significant offset in the nu_max scaling relation, although a clear metallicity dependence is seen and we suggest including a metallicity term in the formulae. From Oct. 2019 to Apr. 2020, LAMOST performs a time-domain spectroscopic survey of four $K$2 plates with both low- and med-resolution observations. The low-resolution spectroscopic survey gains 282 exposures ($\approx$46.6 hours) over 25 nights, yielding a total of about 767,000 spectra, and the med-resolution survey takes 177 exposures ($\approx$49.1 hours) over 27 nights, collecting about 478,000 spectra. More than 70%/50% of low-resolution/med-resolution spectra have signal-to-noise ratio higher than 10. We determine stellar parameters (e.g., $T_{\rm eff}$, log$g$, [Fe/H]) and radial velocity (RV) with different methods, including LASP, DD-Payne, and SLAM. In general, these parameter estimations from different methods show good agreement, and the stellar parameter values are consistent with those of APOGEE. We use the $Gaia$ DR2 RV data to calculate a median RV zero point (RVZP) for each spectrograph exposure by exposure, and the RVZP-corrected RVs agree well with the APOGEE data. The stellar evolutionary and spectroscopic masses are estimated based on the stellar parameters, multi-band magnitudes, distances and extinction values. Finally, we construct a binary catalog including about 2700 candidates by analyzing their light curves, fitting the RV data, calculating the binarity parameters from med-resolution spectra, and cross-matching the spatially resolved binary catalog from $Gaia$ EDR3. Mapping lithium evolution for evolved stars will provide restrictions and constraints on the fundamental stellar interior physical processes, which further shed light on our understanding of the theory of stellar structure and evolution. Based on a sample of 1,848 giants with known evolutionary phases and lithium abundances from the LAMOST-\kepler{} and LAMOST-\emph{K}2 fields, we construct mass-radius diagrams to characterize the evolutionary features of lithium. The stars at red giant branch (RGB) phase show natural depletion along with their stellar evolution, particularly, there is no obvious crowd stars with anomalously high Li abundances near the bump. Most of the low-mass stars reaching their zero-age sequence of core-helium-burning (ZAHeB) have Li abundances around $\sim1.0$\,dex, which show an increase of Li abundance by $\sim0.6$\,dex compared to the stars above the bump of RGB. This suggests the helium flash can be responsible for moderate Li production. While for super Li-rich stars, some special mechanisms should be considered during helium flash. Other scenarios, such as merger, could also be interpretations given the Li-rich stars can be found at anytime during the steady state phase of core He-burning. We investigate the stellar kinematics of the Galactic disc in 7 $<$ $R$ $<$ 13\,kpc using a sample of 118\,945 red giant branch (RGB) stars from LAMOST and Gaia. We characterize the median, dispersion and skewness of the distributions of the 3D stellar velocities, actions and orbital parameters across the age-metallicity and the disc $R$ -- $Z$ plane. Our results reveal abundant but clear stellar kinematic patterns and structures in the age -- metallicity and the disc $R$ -- $Z$ plane. The most prominent feature is the strong variations of the velocity, action, and orbital parameter distributions from the young, metal-rich thin disc to the old, metal-poor thick disc, a number of smaller-scale structures -- such as velocity streams, north-south asymmetries, and kinematic features of spiral arms -- are clearly revealed. Particularly, the skewness of $V_{\phi}$ and $J_{\phi}$ reveals a new substructure at $R\simeq12$\,kpc and $Z\simeq0$\,kpc, possibly related to dynamical effects of spiral arms in the outer disc. We further study the stellar migration through analysing the stellar orbital parameters and stellar birth radii. The results suggest that the thick disc stars near the solar radii and beyond are mostly migrated from the inner disc of $R\sim4 - 6$\,kpc due to their highly eccentrical orbits. Stellar migration due to dynamical processes with angular momentum transfer (churning) are prominent for both the old, metal-rich stars (outward migrators) and the young metal-poor stars (inward migrators). The spatial distribution in the $R$ -- $Z$ plane for the inward migrators born at a Galactocentric radius of $>$12\,kpc show clear age stratifications, possibly an evidence that these inward migrators are consequences of splashes triggered by merger events of satellite galaxies that have been lasted in the past few giga years., Comment: 19 pages, 18 figures, Accepted by MNRAS

Identifying the angular degrees $l$ of oscillation modes is essential for asteroseismology and depends on visual tagging before fitting power spectra in a so-called peakbagging analysis. In oscillating subgiants, radial ($l$= 0) mode frequencies distributed linearly in frequency, while non-radial ($l$ >= 1) modes are p-g mixed modes that having a complex distribution in frequency, which increased the difficulty of identifying $l$. In this study, we trained a 1D convolutional neural network to perform this task using smoothed oscillation spectra. Mass loss by red giants is an important process to understand the final stages of stellar evolution and the chemical enrichment of the interstellar medium. Mass-loss rates are thought to be controlled by pulsation-enhanced dust-driven outflows. Here we investigate the relationships between mass loss, pulsations, and radiation, using 3213 luminous Kepler red giants and 135000 ASAS-SN semiregulars and Miras. Mass-loss rates are traced by infrared colours using 2MASS and WISE and by observed-to-model WISE fluxes, and are also estimated using dust mass-loss rates from literature assuming a typical gas-to-dust mass ratio of 400. To specify the pulsations, we extract the period and height of the highest peak in the power spectrum of oscillation. Absolute magnitudes are obtained from the 2MASS Ks band and the Gaia DR2 parallaxes. Our results follow. (i) Substantial mass loss sets in at pulsation periods above ~60 and ~100 days, corresponding to Asymptotic-Giant-Branch stars at the base of the period-luminosity sequences C' and C. (ii) The mass-loss rate starts to rapidly increase in semiregulars for which the luminosity is just above the Red-Giant-Branch tip and gradually plateaus to a level similar to that of Miras. (iii) The mass-loss rates in Miras do not depend on luminosity, consistent with pulsation-enhanced dust-driven winds. (iv) The accumulated mass loss on the Red Giant Branch consistent with asteroseismic predictions reduces the masses of red-clump stars by 6.3%, less than the typical uncertainty on their asteroseismic masses. The change of sound speed has been found at the base of the convection during the solar cycles, which can be used to constrain the solar internal magnetic field. We aim to check whether the magnetic field generated by the solar dynamo can lead to the cyclic variation of the sound speed detected through helioseismology. The basic configuration of magnetic field in the solar interior was obtained by using a Babcock-Leighton (BL) type flux transport dynamo. We reconstructed one-dimensional solar models by assimilating magnetic field generated by an established dynamo and examined their influences on the structural variables. The results show that magnetic field generated by the dynamo is able to cause noticeable change of the sound speed profile at the base of the convective zone during a solar cycle. Detailed features of this theoretical prediction are also similar to those of the helioseismic results in solar cycle 23 by adjusting the free parameters of the dynamo model., Comment: accepted for publication in RAA (Res. RV variable stars are important in astrophysics. The Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) spectroscopic survey has provided ~ 6.5 million stellar spectra in its Data Release 4 (DR4). During the survey, ~ 4.7 million unique sources were targeted and ~ 1 million stars observed repeatedly. The probabilities of stars being RV variables are estimated by comparing the observed radial velocity variations with the simulated ones. We build a catalog of 80,702 RV variable candidates with probability greater than 0.60 by analyzing the duplicate-observed multi-epoch sources covered by the LAMOST DR4. Simulations and cross-identifications show that the purity of the catalog is higher than 80%. The catalog consists of 77% binary systems and 7% pulsating stars as well as 16% pollution by single stars. 3,138 RV variables are classified through cross-identifications with published results in literatures. By using the 3,138 sources common to both LAMOST and a collection of published RV variable catalogs we are able to analyze LAMOST's RV variable detection rate. The efficiency of the method adopted in this work relies not only on the sampling frequency of observations but also periods and amplitudes of RV variables. With the progress of LAMOST, Gaia and other surveys, more and more RV variables would will be confirmed and classified. This catalog is valuable for other large-scale surveys, especially for RV variable searches. The presence of mixed modes makes subgiants excellent targets for asteroseismology, providing a probe for the internal structure of stars. Here we study 36 \emph{Kepler} subgiants with solar-like oscillations and report their oscillation mode parameters. We performed a so-called peakbagging exercise, i.e. estimating oscillation mode frequencies, linewidths, and amplitudes with a power spectrum model, fitted in the Bayesian framework and sampled with a Markov Chain Monte Carlo algorithm. The uncertainties of the mode frequencies have a median value of 0.180 $\mu$Hz. We obtained seismic parameters from the peakbagging, analysed their correlation with stellar parameters, and examined against scaling relations. The behaviour of seismic parameters (e.g. $\Delta\nu$, $\nu_{\rm max}$, $\epsilon_p$) is in general consistent with theoretical predictions. We presented the observational p--g diagrams: $\gamma_1$--$\Delta\nu$ for early subgiants and $\Delta\Pi_1$--$\Delta\nu$ for late subgiants, and demonstrate their capability to estimate stellar mass. We also found a $\log g$ dependence on the linewidths and a mass dependence on the oscillation amplitudes and the widths of oscillation excess. Obtaining measurements of chromospheric and photometric activity of stars with near-solar fundamental parameters and rotation periods is important for a better understanding of solar-stellar connection. We select a sample of 2603 stars with near-solar fundamental parameters from the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST)-Kepler field and use LAMOST spectra to measure their chromospheric activity and Kepler light curves to measure their photospheric activity (i.e., the amplitude of the photometric variability). While the rotation periods of 1556 of these stars could not be measured due to the low amplitude of the photometric variability and highly irregular temporal profile of light curves, 254 stars were further identified as having near-solar rotation periods. We show that stars with near-solar rotation periods have chromospheric activities that are systematically higher than stars with undetected rotation periods. Furthermore, while the solar level of photospheric and chromospheric activity appears to be typical for stars with undetected rotation periods, the Sun appears to be less active than most stars with near-solar rotation periods (both in terms of photospheric and chromospheric activity)., Comment: 7 pages, 6 figures

Monitoring chromospheric and photospheric indexes of magnetic activity can provide valuable information, especially the interaction between different parts of the atmosphere and their response to magnetic fields. We extract chromospheric indexes, S and Rhk+, for 59,816 stars from LAMOST spectra in the LAMOST-Kepler program, and photospheric index, Reff, for 5575 stars from Kepler light curves. The log Reff shows positive correlation with log Rhk+. We estimate the power-law indexes between Reff and Rhk+ for F-, G-, and K-type stars, respectively. We also confirm the dependence of both chromospheric and photospheric activity on stellar rotation. Ca II H and K emissions and photospheric variations generally decrease with increasing rotation periods for stars with rotation periods exceeding a few days. The power-law indexes in exponential decay regimes show different characteristics in the two activity-rotation relations. The updated largest sample including the activity proxies and reported rotation periods provides more information to understand the magnetic activity for cool stars., Comment: 8 pages,7 figures

The formation histories of lithium-rich and carbon-rich red giants are not yet understood. It has been proposed that the merger of a helium-core white dwarf with a red giant branch star might provide a solution. We have computed an extended grid of post-merger evolution models and combined these with predictions of binary star population synthesis. The results strongly support the proposal that the merger of a helium white dwarf with a red giant branch star can provide the progenitors of both lithium-rich red clump stars and early-R carbon stars. The distribution of post-merger models in $T_{\rm eff}$, $\log g$, $\log L$, the surface abundances of lithium and carbon, and the predicted space densities agree well with the observed distributions of these parameters for Li-rich and early-R stars in the Galaxy., Comment: 14 pages, 19 figues, accepted to ApJ

We present a catalog of stellar age and mass estimates for a sample of 640\,986 red giant branch (RGB) stars of the Galactic disk from the LAMOST Galactic Spectroscopic Survey (DR4). The RGB stars are distinguished from the red clump stars utilizing period spacing derived from the spectra with a machine learning method based on kernel principal component analysis (KPCA). Cross-validation suggests our method is capable of distinguishing RC from RGB stars with only 2 per cent contamination rate for stars with signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) higher than 50. The age and mass of these RGB stars are determined from their LAMOST spectra with KPCA method by taking the LAMOST - $Kepler$ giant stars having asteroseismic parameters and the LAMOST-TGAS sub-giant stars based on isochrones as training sets. Examinations suggest that the age and mass estimates of our RGB sample stars with SNR $>$ 30 have a median error of 30 per cent and 10 per cent, respectively. Stellar ages are found to exhibit positive vertical and negative radial gradients across the disk, and the age structure of the disk is strongly flared across the whole disk of $6

We present optical and ultraviolet observations of nearby type Ic supernova SN 2017ein as well as detailed analysis of its progenitor properties from both the early-time observations and the prediscovery Hubble Space Telescope (HST) images. The optical light curves started from within one day to $\sim$275 days after explosion, and optical spectra range from $\sim$2 days to $\sim$90 days after explosion. Compared to other normal SNe Ic like SN 2007gr and SN 2013ge, \mbox{SN 2017ein} seems to have more prominent C{\footnotesize II} absorption and higher expansion velocities in early phases, suggestive of relatively lower ejecta mass. The earliest photometry obtained for \mbox{SN 2017ein} show indications of shock cooling. The best-fit obtained by including a shock cooling component gives an estimate of the envelope mass as $\sim$0.02 M$_{\odot}$ and stellar radius as 8$\pm$4 R$_{\odot}$. Examining the pre-explosion images taken with the HST WFPC2, we find that the SN position coincides with a luminous and blue point-like source, with an extinction-corrected absolute magnitude of M$_V$$\sim$$-$8.2 mag and M$_I$$\sim$$-$7.7 mag.Comparisons of the observations to the theoretical models indicate that the counterpart source was either a single WR star or a binary with whose members had high initial masses, or a young compact star cluster. Stellar systems composed of single, double, triple or high-order systems are rightfully regarded as the fundamental building blocks of the Milky Way. Binary stars play an important role in formation and evolution of the Galaxy. Through comparing the radial velocity variations from multi-epoch observations, we analyze the binary fraction of dwarf stars observed with the LAMOST. Effects of different model assumptions such as orbital period distributions on the estimate of binary fractions, are investigated. The results based on log-normal distribution of orbital periods reproduce the previous complete analyses better than the power-law distribution. We find that the binary fraction increases with $T_{\rm eff}$ and decreases with [Fe/H]. We first investigate the relation between $\alpha$-elements and binary fraction in such a large sample as the LAMOST. The old stars with high [$\alpha$/Fe] dominate higher binary fraction than young stars with low [$\alpha$/Fe]. At the same mass, former forming stars possess a higher binary fraction than newly forming ones, which may be related with the evolution of the Galaxy., Comment: 13 pages, 11 figures, RAA accepted

We analyze an asteroseismic binary system: KIC 7107778, a non-eclipsing, unresolved target, with solar-like oscillations in both components. We used \emph{Kepler} short cadence time series spanning nearly two years to obtain the power spectrum. Oscillation mode parameters were determined using Bayesian inference and a nested sampling Monte Carlo algorithm with the \texttt{DIAMONDS} package. The power profiles of the two components fully overlap, indicating their close similarity. We modelled the two stars with \texttt{MESA} and calculated oscillation frequencies with \texttt{GYRE}. Stellar fundamental parameters (mass, radius and age) were estimated by grid modelling with atmospheric parameters and the oscillation frequencies of $l=0,2$ modes as constraints. Most $l=1$ mixed modes were identified with models searched using a bisection method. Stellar parameters for the two sub-giant stars are: $M_A=1.42\pm0.06$ $M_{\astrosun}$, $M_B=1.39\pm0.03$ $M_{\astrosun}$, $R_A=2.93\pm0.05$ $R_{\astrosun}$, $R_B=2.76\pm0.04$ $R_{\astrosun}$, $t_A=3.32\pm0.54$ Gyr and $t_B=3.51\pm0.33$ Gyr. The mass difference of the system is $\sim$1\%. The results confirm their simultaneous birth and evolution, as is expected from binary formation. KIC 7107778 comprises almost identical twins, and is the first asteroseismic sub-giant binary to be detected., Comment: 13 pages, 8 figures

Most close double helium white dwarfs will merge within a Hubble time due to orbital decay by gravitational-wave radiation. However, a significant fraction with low mass ratios will survive for a long time as a consequence of stable mass transfer. Such stable mass transfer between two helium white dwarfs (HeWD) provides one channel for the production of AM\,CVn binary stars. In previous calculations of double HeWD progenitors, the accreting HeWD was treated as a point mass. We have computed the evolution of 16 double HeWD models in order to investigate the consequences of treating the detailed evolution of both components. We find that the boundary between binaries having stable and unstable mass transfer is slightly modified by this approach. By comparing with observed periods and mass ratios, we redetermine masses of eight known AM\,CVn stars by our double HeWDs channel, i.e. HM\,Cnc, AM CVn, V406\,Hya, J0926, J1240, GP\,Com, Gaia14aae and V396\,Hya. We propose that central spikes in the triple-peaked emission spectra of J1240, GP\,Com and V396\,Hya and the surface abundance ratios of N/C/O in GP\,Com can be explained by the stable double HeWD channel. Obtaining accurate and precise masses and ages for large numbers of giant stars is of great importance for unraveling the assemblage history of the Galaxy. In this paper, we estimate masses and ages of 6940 red giant branch (RGB) stars with asteroseismic parameters deduced from \emph{Kepler} photometry and stellar atmospheric parameters derived from LAMOST spectra. The typical uncertainties of mass is a few per cent, and that of age is $\sim$\,20 per cent. The sample stars reveal two separate sequences in the age -- [$\alpha$/Fe] relation -- a high--$\alpha$ sequence with stars older than $\sim$\,8\,Gyr and a low--$\alpha$ sequence composed of stars with ages ranging from younger than 1\,Gyr to older than 11\,Gyr. We further investigate the feasibility of deducing ages and masses directly from LAMOST spectra with a machine learning method based on kernel based principal component analysis, taking a sub-sample of these RGB stars as a training data set. We demonstrate that ages thus derived achieve an accuracy of $\sim$\,24 per cent. We also explored the feasibility of estimating ages and masses based on the spectroscopically measured carbon and nitrogen abundances. It is not known how single white dwarfs with masses less than 0.5Msolar -- low-mass white dwarfs -- are formed. One way in which such a white dwarf might be formed is after the merger of a helium-core white dwarf with a main-sequence star that produces a red giant branch star and fails to ignite helium. We use a stellar-evolution code to compute models of the remnants of these mergers and find a relation between the pre-merger masses and the final white dwarf mass. Combining our results with a model population, we predict that the mass distribution of single low-mass white dwarfs formed through this channel spans the range 0.37 to 0.5Msolar and peaks between 0.45 and 0.46Msolar. Helium white dwarf--main-sequence star mergers can also lead to the formation of single helium white dwarfs with masses up to 0.51Msolar. In our model the Galactic formation rate of single low-mass white dwarfs through this channel is about 8.7X10^-3yr^-1. Comparing our models with observations, we find that the majority of single low-mass white dwarfs (<0.5Msolar) are formed from helium white dwarf--main-sequence star mergers, at a rate which is about $2$ per cent of the total white dwarf formation rate., Comment: 6 pages, 7 figures, MNRAS accepted, in press

High precision and long-lasting \emph{Kepler} data enabled us to estimate stellar properties with asteroseismology as an accurate tool. We performed asteroseismic analysis on six solar-like stars observed by the \emph{Kepler} mission: KIC 6064910, KIC 6766513, KIC 7107778, KIC 10079226, KIC 10147635 and KIC 12069127. The extraction of seismic information includes two parts. First, we obtained two global asteroseismic parameters, mean large separation $\Delta\nu$ and frequency of maximum power $\nu_{\rm{max}}$, with autocorrelation function and collapsed autocorrelation function. Second, we extracted individual oscillation modes $\nu_{nl}$ with low-$l$ degree using a least-squares fit. Stellar grid models were built with Yale Rotating Stellar Evolution Code (YREC) to analyze stellar properties. They covered the range of $M=0.8\sim1.8$ $M_{\odot}$ with a step of 0.02 $M_{\odot}$ and $\rm{[Fe/H]}=-0.3\sim0.4$ $\rm{dex}$ with a step of 0.1 $\rm{dex}$. We used a Bayesian approach to estimate stellar fundamental parameters of the six stars, under the constraints of asteroseismic parameters ($\Delta\nu$, $\nu_{\rm{max}}$) and non-asteroseismic parameters ($T_{\rm{eff}}$, $\rm{[Fe/H]}$). We discover that the six targets include five sub-giant stars with $1.2\sim1.5$ $M_{\odot}$ and one main-sequence star with $1.08M_{\odot}$, and with ages in the range of $3\sim5$ $\rm{Gyr}$., Comment: Language improved

It is predicted that orbital decay by gravitational-wave radiation and tidal interaction will cause some close-binary stars to merge within a Hubble time. The merger of a helium-core white dwarf with a main-sequence star can produce a red giant branch star that has a low-mass hydrogen envelope when helium is ignited and thus become a hot subdwarf. Because detailed calculations have not been made, we compute post-merger models with a stellar evolution code. We find the evolutionary paths available to merger remnants and find the pre-merger conditions that lead to the formation of hot subdwarfs. We find that some such mergers result in the formation of stars with intermediate helium-rich surfaces. These stars later develop helium-poor surfaces owing to diffusion. Combining our results with a model population and comparing to observed stars, we find that some observed intermediate helium-rich hot subdwarfs can be explained as the remnants of the mergers of helium-core white dwarfs with low-mass main-sequence stars., Comment: 10 pages, 13 figures, accepted for publication in ApJ

Main sequence turn-off (MSTO) stars have advantages as indicators of Galactic evolution since their ages could be robustly estimated from atmospheric parameters. Hundreds of thousands of MSTO stars have been selected from the LAMOST Galactic sur- vey to study the evolution of the Galaxy, and it is vital to derive accurate stellar parameters. In this work, we select 150 MSTO star candidates from the MSTO stars sample of Xiang that have asteroseismic parameters and determine accurate stellar parameters for these stars combing the asteroseismic parameters deduced from the Kepler photometry and atmospheric parameters deduced from the LAMOST spectra.With this sample, we examine the age deter- mination as well as the contamination rate of the MSTO stars sample. A comparison of age between this work and Xiang shows a mean difference of 0.53 Gyr (7%) and a dispersion of 2.71 Gyr (28%). The results show that 79 of the candidates are MSTO stars, while the others are contaminations from either main sequence or sub-giant stars. The contamination rate for the oldest stars is much higher than that for the younger stars. The main cause for the high contamination rate is found to be the relatively large systematic bias in the LAMOST surface gravity estimates., Comment: accepted by RAA

We analysed solar-like oscillations in 1523 $\textit{Kepler}$ red giants which have previously been misclassified as subgiants, with predicted $\nu_{\rm max}$ values (based on the Kepler Input Catalogue) between 280$\mu$Hz to 700$\mu$Hz. We report the discovery of 626 new oscillating red giants in our sample, in addition to 897 oscillators that were previously characterized by Hekker et al. (2011) from one quarter of $\textit{Kepler}$ data. Our sample increases the known number of oscillating low-luminosity red giants by $26\%$ (up to $\sim$ 1900 stars). About three quarters of our sample are classified as ascending red-giant-branch stars, while the remainder are red-clump stars. A novel scheme was applied to determine $\Delta \nu$ for 108 stars with $\nu_{\rm max}$ close to the Nyquist frequency (240$\mu$Hz < $\nu_{\rm max}$ < 320$\mu$Hz). Additionally, we identified 47 stars oscillating in the super-Nyquist frequency regime, up to 387$\mu$Hz, using long-cadence light curves. We show that the misclassifications are most likely due to large uncertainties in KIC surface gravities, and do not result from the absence of broadband colors or from different physical properties such as reddening, spatial distribution, mass or metallicity. The ratios $r_{01}$ and $r_{10}$ of small to large separations of KIC 2837475 primarily exhibit an increase behavior in the observed frequency range. The calculations indicate that only the models with overshooting parameter $\delta_{\rm ov}$ between approximately 1.2 and 1.6 can reproduce the observed ratios $r_{01}$ and $r_{10}$ of KIC 2837475. The ratios $r_{01}$ and $r_{10}$ of the frequency separations of p-modes with inner turning points that are located in the overshooting region of convective core can exhibit an increase behavior. The frequencies of the modes that can reach the overshooting region decrease with the increase in $\delta_{\rm ov}$. Thus the ratio distributions are more sensitive to $\delta_{\rm ov}$ than to other parameters. The increase behavior of the KIC 2837475 ratios results from a direct effect of the overshooting of convective core. The characteristic of the ratios provides a strict constraint on stellar models. Observational constraints point to a star with $M=1.490\pm0.018$ $M_{\odot}$, $R=1.67\pm0.01$ $R_{\odot}$, age $=2.8\pm0.4$ Gyr, and $1.2\lesssim$ $\delta_{\rm ov}$ $\lesssim1.6$ for KIC 2837475., Comment: Accepted for publication in MNRAS. 9 pages, 10 figures. Asteroseismology provides a powerful way to constrain stellar parameters. Solar-like oscillations have been observed on subgiant stars with the \emph{Kepler\/} mission. The continuous and high-precision time series enables us to carry out a detailed asteroseismic study for these stars. We carry out data processing of two subgiants of spectral type G: KIC 6442183 and KIC 11137075 observed with the \emph{Kepler} mission, and perform seismic analysis for the two evolved stars. We estimate the values of global asteroseismic parameters: $\Delta\nu=64.9\pm 0.2 $ $\mu$Hz and $\nu_{\rm max}=1225 \pm 17$ $\mu$Hz for KIC 6442183, $\Delta\nu=65.5\pm 0.2 $ $\mu$Hz and $\nu_{\rm max}=1171 \pm 8$ $\mu$Hz for KIC 11137075, respectively. In addition, we extract the individual mode frequencies of the two stars. We compare stellar models and observations, including mode frequencies and mode inertias. The mode inertias of mixed modes, which are sensitive to the stellar interior, are used to constrain stellar models. We define a quantity $d\nu_{\rm m-p}$ that measures the difference between the mixed modes and the expected pure pressure modes, which is related to the inertia ratio of mixed modes to radial modes. Asteroseismic together with spectroscopic constraints provide the estimations of the stellar parameters: $M = 1.04_{-0.04}^{+0.01} M_{\odot}$, $R = 1.66_{-0.02}^{+0.01} R_{\odot}$ and $t=8.65_{-0.06}^{+1.12}$ Gyr for KIC 6442183, and $M = 1.00_{-0.01}^{+0.01} M_{\odot}$, $R = 1.63_{-0.01}^{+0.01} R_{\odot}$ and $t=10.36_{-0.20}^{+0.01}$ Gyr for KIC 11137075. The oscillations of the solar-like star HD 49933 have been observed thoroughly by CoRot. Two dozens of frequency shifts, which are closely related with the change in magnetic activity, have been measured. To explore the effects of the magnetic activity on the frequency shifts, we calculate frequency shifts for the radial and $l = 1$ p-modes of HD 49933 with the general variational method, which evaluates the shifts using a spatial integral of the product of a kernel and some sources. The theoretical frequency shifts well reproduce the observation. The magnitudes and positions of the sources are determined according to the $\chi^2$ criterion. We predict the source that contributes to both $l = 0$ and $l = 1$ modes is located at $0.48 - 0.62$Mm below the stellar surface. In addition, based on the assumption that $A_{0}$ is proportional to the change in the MgII activity index $\Delta{i}_{MgII}$, we obtained that the change of MgII index between minimum and maximum of HD 49933 cycle period is about 0.665. The magnitude of the frequency shifts compared to the Sun already told us that HD 49933 is much more active than the Sun, which is further confirmed in this paper. Furthermore, our calculation on the frequency shifts of $l = 1$ modes indicates the variation of turbulent velocity in the stellar convective zone may be an important source for the $l = 1$ shifts., Comment: 10 pages, 3 figures, article

The frequency ratios and of HD 49933 exhibit an increase at high frequencies. This behavior also exists in the ratios of other stars, which is considered to result from the low signal-to-noise ratio and the larger line width at the high-frequency end and could not be predicted by stellar models in previous work. Our calculations show that the behavior not only can be reproduced by stellar models, but can be predicted by asymptotic formulas of the ratios. The frequency ratios of the Sun, too, can be reproduced well by the asymptotic formulas. The increased behavior derives from the fact that the gradient of mean molecular weight at the bottom of the radiative region hinders the propagation of p-modes, while the hindrance does not exist in the convective core. This behavior should exist in the ratios of stars with a large convective core. The characteristic of the ratios at high frequencies provides a strict constraint on stellar models and aids in determining the size of the convective core and the extent of overshooting. Observational constraints point to a star with $M=1.28\pm0.01 M_{\odot}$, $R=1.458\pm0.005 R_{\odot}$, $t=1.83\pm0.1$ Gyr, $r_{cc}=0.16\pm0.02 R_{\odot}$, $\alpha=1.85\pm0.05$, and $\delta_{ov}=0.6\pm0.2$ for HD 49933., Comment: Accepted for publication in ApJ. The double or extended main-sequence turnoffs (MSTOs) in the color-magnitude diagram (CMD) of intermediate-age massive star clusters in the Large Magellanic Cloud are generally interpreted as age spreads of a few hundred Myr. However, such age spreads do not exist in younger clusters (i.e., 40-300 Myr), which challenges this interpretation. The effects of rotation on the MSTOs of star clusters have been studied in previous works, but the results obtained are conflicting. Compared with previous works, we consider the effects of rotation on the MS lifetime of stars. Our calculations show that rotating models have a fainter and redder MSTO with respect to non-rotating counterparts with ages between about 0.8 and 2.2 Gyr, but have a brighter and bluer MSTO when age is larger than 2.4 Gyr. The spread of the MSTO caused by a typical rotation rate is equivalent to the effect of an age spread of about 200 Myr. Rotation could lead to the double or extended MSTOs in the CMD of the star clusters with ages between about 0.8 and 2.2 Gyr. However, the extension is not significant; and it does not even exist in younger clusters. If the efficiency of the mixing were high enough, the effects of the mixing would counteract the effect of the centrifugal support in the late stage of evolution; and the rotationally induced extension would disappear in the old intermediate-age star clusters; but younger clusters would have an extended MSTO. It was found that the equatorial velocity of A-type stars undergoes an acceleration in the first third of the main sequence (MS) stage, but the velocity decreases as if the stars were not undergoing any redistribution of angular momentum in the external layers in the last stage of the MS phase. Our calculations show that the acceleration and the decrease of the equatorial velocity can be reproduced by the evolution of the differential rotation zero-age MS model with the angular momentum transport caused by hydrodynamic instabilities during the MS stage. The acceleration results from the fact that the angular momentum stored in the interiors of the stars is transported outwards. In the last stage, the core and the radiative envelope are uncoupling, and the rotation of the envelope is a quasi-solid rotation; the uncoupling and the expansion of the envelope lead to that the decrease of the equatorial velocity approximately follows the slope for the change in the equatorial velocity of the model without any redistribution of angular momentum. When the fractional age 0.3 $\lesssim\mathrm{t/t_{MS}}\lesssim$ 0.5, the equatorial velocity remains almost constant for the stars whose central density increases with age in the early stage of the MS phase, while the velocity decreases with age for the stars whose central density decreases with age in the early stage of the MS phase., Comment: Accepted for publication in ApJL. 8 pagers, 5 figures

We calculated a grid of evolutionary tracks of rotating models with masses between 1.0 and 3.0 $M_{\odot}$ and a resolution $\delta M \leq 0.02$ $M_{\odot}$, which can be used to study the effects of rotation on stellar evolutions and on the characteristics of star clusters. The value of $\sim$2.05 $M_{\odot}$ is a critical mass for the effects of rotation on stellar structure and evolution. For stars with $M >$ 2.05 $M_{\odot}$, rotation leads to an increase in the convective core and prolongs the lifetime of main sequence (MS); rotating models evolve slower than non-rotating ones; the effects of rotation on the evolution of these stars are similar to those of convective core overshooting. However for stars with 1.1 $< M/M_{\odot}<$ 2.05, rotation results in a decrease in the convective core and shortens the lifetime of MS; rotating models evolve faster than non-rotating ones. When the mass is located in the range of $\sim$1.7 - 2.0 $M_{\odot}$, the mixing caused by rotationally induced instabilities is not efficient; the hydrostatic effects dominate the effect on the evolution of these stars. For the models with masses between about 1.6 and 2.0 $M_{\odot}$, rotating models always exhibit lower effective temperatures than non-rotating ones at the same age during the MS stage. For a given age, the lower the mass, the smaller the change in the effective temperature.
