The Solar Upper Transition Region Imager (SUTRI) onboard the Space Advanced Technology demonstration satellite (SATech-01), which was launched to a sun-synchronous orbit at a height of 500 km in July 2022, aims to test the on-orbit performance of our newly developed Sc-Si multi-layer reflecting mirror and the 2kx2k EUV CMOS imaging camera and to take full-disk solar images at the Ne VII 46.5 nm spectral line with a filter width of 3 nm. SUTRI employs a Ritchey-Chretien optical system with an aperture of 18 cm. The on-orbit observations show that SUTRI images have a field of view of 41.6'x41.6' and a moderate spatial resolution of 8" without an image stabilization system. The normal cadence of SUTRI images is 30 s and the solar observation time is about 16 hours each day because the earth eclipse time accounts for about 1/3 of SATech-01's orbit period. Approximately 15 GB data is acquired each day and made available online after processing. SUTRI images are valuable as the Ne VII 46.5 nm line is formed at a temperature regime of 0.5 MK in the solar atmosphere, which has rarely been sampled by existing solar imagers. SUTRI observations will establish connections between structures in the lower solar atmosphere and corona, and advance our understanding of various types of solar activity such as flares, filament eruptions, coronal jets and coronal mass ejections., Comment: 29pages,16figures

Thanks to its very large collecting area, good spectral resolution and unprecedented polarimetry capabilities, eXTP will explore the properties of matter and the propagation of light in the most extreme conditions found in the Universe. eXTP will, in addition, be a powerful X-ray observatory. The mission will continuously monitor the X-ray sky, and will enable multiwavelength and multi-messenger studies. - Abstract
The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission (eXTP) is a flagship observatory for X-ray timing, spectroscopy and polarimetry developed by an International Consortium. Thanks to its very large collecting area, good spectral resolution and unprecedented polarimetry capabilities, eXTP will explore the properties of matter and the propagation of light in the most extreme conditions found in the Universe. eXTP will, in addition, be a powerful X-ray observatory. The mission will continuously monitor the X-ray sky, and will enable multiwavelength and multi-messenger studies. The mission is currently in phase B, which will be completed in the middle of 2022.

This paper addresses issues relevant to thruster-aided deployment of spin-stabilized tethered formations in a circular orbit. The dynamics of the tethered formation are first established by treating the parent satellite as a finite-sized body with respect to its spinning motion. To achieve the minimum-power trajectories for formation deployment, the optimal deployment problem is analytically formulated using Pontryagin’s minimum principle. Physical constraints on tether tension, thrust amplitude, and libration angle are also considered. To handle nonlinearities, the problem is solved numerically using a direct method based on the Gauss pseudospectral approach, in which the optimal deployment profiles are obtained and all of the solutions are proven to be within a feasible range. Finally, based on a variety of simulations, the optimal solution’s sensitivity to certain parameters is also analyzed.

A spacecraft performing unknown maneuvers significantly increases the probability of a collision between spacecraft with neighboring orbits. Traditional orbit determination filters cannot robustly cope with unknown maneuvers. To track non-cooperative, unknowingly maneuvering spacecraft, a novel variable structure estimator is proposed based on the input compensation to a normal filter. We develop an observer to estimate the unknown maneuver and then analyze the estimated maneuver performance based on error propagation. Once the maneuver detector declares the occurrence of an unknown maneuver, the estimated maneuver is fed to an extended Kalman filter as compensation, which enables the estimator to work adaptively. Finally, a series of numerical simulations are carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed variable structure estimator, and the estimation performances in the cases of constant and time-varying maneuvers are analyzed based on the simulation results.

This paper presents a novel constrained Kalman filter framework for autonomous orbit determination. By using Lagrangian multiplier techniques, the conserved terms of orbit motion are incorporated into the estimation routines to reconstruct the Kalman filter, and then the orthogonal and multipartial-norm-constrained Kalman filters are developed for the satellite in circular orbit and eccentric ones, respectively. Finally, scenarios of both circular and eccentric orbits with unknown measurement bias are simulated by using the proposed constrained Kalman filter; the simulation results show that the estimation accuracy is significantly improved after introducing the conservative terms as constraint.

- Abstract
The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry Observatory (eXTP) is a flagship international collaboration mission led by Chinese Academy of Sciences, with a large contribution from more than 20 European institutes. eXTP mission is designed to study the equation of state of ultra-dense matter under extreme conditions of strong density, gravity and magnetic field. The satellite carries four main instruments, including the Spectroscopy Focusing Array (SFA), the Large Area Detector (LAD), the Polarimetry Focusing array (PFA) and the Wide Field Monitor (WFM), enabling simultaneous spectral-timing-polarimetry studies of celestial sources in the energy range from 0.5-30 keV. The satellite will fly at a near-zero-inclination Low Earth Orbit, and is featured with long-time steady high-precision coaxial pointing, near realtime burst alert distribution, and follow-up maneuver capabilities. This paper describes the primary mission requirements and constraints, and presents an overall mission analysis including orbit analysis, pointing strategy, and board-ground communications, etc. The preliminary design of eXTP satellite is also introduced, including satellite overall configuration, observation modes, avionics architecture and development plan.

In this paper, we studied the attitude dynamics and control problem of a tethered space robot system, which are perturbed by a librational tether. First, the dynamics of the platform is developed with considering the librational tether. Secondly, a nonlinear disturbance observer is proposed based on attitude rate observations. Finally, a robust attitude controller is developed by using the disturbance observer an a PD controller, and the advantages from the proposed controller is demonstrated by numerical simulations.

The Large Area Detector (LAD) is the high-throughput, spectral-timing instrument onboard the eXTP mission, a flagship mission of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the China National Space Administration, with a large European participation coordinated by Italy and Spain. The eXTP mission is currently performing its phase B study, with a target launch at the end-2027. The eXTP scientific payload includes four instruments (SFA, PFA, LAD and WFM) offering unprecedented simultaneous wide-band X-ray timing and polarimetry sensitivity. The LAD instrument is based on the design originally proposed for the LOFT mission. It envisages a deployed 3.2 m2 effective area in the 2-30 keV energy range, achieved through the technology of the large-area Silicon Drift Detectors - offering a spectral resolution of up to 200 eV FWHM at 6 keV - and of capillary plate collimators - limiting the field of view to about 1 degree. In this paper we will provide an overview of the LAD instrument design, its current status of development and anticipated performance.
