Background Arterial enhancement fraction of residual tumor (AEF-RT) has been recently reported as a potential prognostic predictor for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treated with drug-eluting beads transarterial chemoembolization (DEB-TACE). We aim to establish a prognostic model including AEF-RT for predicting progression-free survival (PFS) in HCC patients after DEB-TACE. Methods The Cox model for PFS was derived in a training cohort (n = 56) and tested in a temporal validation cohort (n = 55). Model performance was assessed using the concordance index (C-index) and integrated Brier score (IBS) and was compared with existing prognostic models. Results The final model, termed ADMN, incorporated AEF-RT, Diameter, Margin appearance, and Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio. High-risk patients defined by ADMN had 3.92 times greater progression risk than low-risk ones in the training cohort (p p = 0.005). The C-index of ADMN was significantly higher than that of other models in the training cohort (0.76) and remained numerically higher in the validation cohort (0.71). The ADMN model manifested the lowest IBS at 6 and 12 months in the training cohort. Although the IBS at 6 and 12 months remained at a satisfactorily low level in the validation cohort, there was no superiority of ADMN IBS over other prognostic models at 12 months. Conclusion The ADMN model enabled progression risk stratification and individualized estimation of PFS in HCC patients undergoing DEB-TACE and yielded better performance than existing models. Further external validation with a larger sample size is required.

Microgravity is an ecological factor that affects the environment of the body. In this study, quantitative isobaric labeling (tandem mass tag) method was used to study the changes in human gastric mucosal cells under simulated microgravity for the first time. Comparative proteomic analysis identified 394 (202 upregulated and 192 downregulated) and 542 (286 upregulated and 256 downregulated) proteins differentially regulated by simulated microgravity after 3 and 7 days, respectively. Then the identified proteins were subjected to Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analyses for further exploration. The results of the analysis showed that the ribosomes of gastric mucosal cells were significantly impacted after exposure to simulated microgravity for 3 days, and the cells appeared to be in a state of stress and inflammation. Exposure to simulated microgravity for 7 days significantly affected the mitochondria of the cells, oxidative stress became more evident, while inflammation and weakened connections were observed in the cells. The results of this study highlighted the temporal response trend of gastric mucosal cells to the stressor of microgravity at the two time points of 3 and 7 days. These findings will provide insights into the development of methods to protect the gastric mucosa during space flight.

Background:. Reports evaluating the efficacy of transcranial sonography (TCS) for the differential diagnosis of Parkinson disease (PD) and other movement disorders in China are scarce. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the application of TCS for the differential diagnosis of PD, multiple system atrophy (MSA), progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), and essential tremor (ET) in Chinese individuals. Methods:. From 2017 to 2019, 500 inpatients treated at the Department of Dyskinesia, Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University underwent routine transcranial ultrasound examination. The cross-sections at the midbrain and thalamus levels were scanned, and the incidence rates of substantia nigra (SN) positivity and the incidence rates of lenticular hyperechoic area were recorded. The echo of the SN was manually measured. Results:. Of the 500 patients, 125 were excluded due to poor signal in temporal window sound transmission. Among the 375 individuals with good temporal window sound transmission, 200 were diagnosed with PD, 90 with ET, 50 with MSA, and 35 with PSP. The incidence rates of SN positivity differed significantly among the four patient groups (χ2 = 121.061, P 0.017). Conclusion:. SN positivity could effectively differentiate PD from ET, PSP, and MSA in a Chinese population.

The incidence of stomach diseases is very high, which has a significant impact on human health. Damaged gastric mucosa is more vulnerable to injury, leading to bleeding and perforation, which eventually aggravates the primary disease. Therefore, the protection of gastric mucosa is crucial. However, existing drugs that protect gastric mucosa can cause nonnegligible side effects, such as hepatic inflammation, nephritis, hypoacidity, impotence, osteoporotic bone fracture, and hypergastrinemia. Autophagy, as a major intracellular lysosome-dependent degradation process, plays a key role in maintaining intracellular homeostasis and resisting environmental pressure, which may be a potential therapeutic target for protecting gastric mucosa. Recent studies have demonstrated that autophagy played a dual role when gastric mucosa exposed to biological and chemical factors. More indepth studies are needed on the protective effect of autophagy in gastric mucosa. In this review, we focus on the mechanisms and the dual role of various biological and chemical factors regulating autophagy, such as Helicobacter pylori, virus, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. And we summarize the pathophysiological properties and pharmacological strategies for the protection of gastric mucosa through autophagy.

Background: Closed reduction and internal fixation with intramedullary nails for intertrochanteric fractures have been widely accepted, We should focus on how to avoid the displacement of lesser trochanter in unstable intertrochanteric fractures.Methods: We developed a lesser trochanteric reduction fixator for intertrochanteric fractures via fixing the lesser trochanter by combining the loop plate through the fixator after the reduction by the reducer.Results: The postoperative Harris hip score of patients treated with lesser trochanteric reduction was higher, which indicated that the lesser trochanteric reduction had positive impacts on the rehabilitation of the hip joint after surgery and could significantly improve the quality of life of patients.Conclusions: The treatment of intertrochanteric fractures, we fully realize the significance of trochanteric reduction and fixation, namely the reconstruction of structures under pressure. As long as the general condition of patients is suitable and they allow receiving surgery, the fixation would be performed on the main fracture end and the lesser trochanter would be reduced and fixed at the same time.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess the impact of oversizing in thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) on early and long-term survival and major adverse events in patients with uncomplicated type B aortic dissection (TBAD). Methods: Between January 2010 and December 2018, 226 patients who were diagnosed with uncomplicated TBAD and received TEVAR were analyzed retrospectively. The patients were divided into ≤5% oversizing (n=153) and >5% oversizing (n=73) groups. Primary end points were all-cause and aortic-related mortalities. Secondary end points were procedure-related complications, including retrograde type A aortic dissection (RTAD), endoleak, distal stent-induced new entry (SINE), and late reintervention. All-cause and aortic-related mortalities were assessed using the Kaplan-Meier survival method, while procedure-related complications were evaluated using a competing risk model with all-cause death as a competing risk. Results: Mean oversizing was 2.1%±1.5% in the ≤5% oversizing group and 9.6%±4.1% in the >5% oversizing group. Differences in the 30-day mortality and adverse events between the 2 groups were statistically insignificant. The freedom from all-cause mortality was comparable between the ≤5% oversizing group and the >5% oversizing group (≤5%: 93.3% at 5 years, >5%: 92.3% at 5 years, p=0.957). No significant difference was observed between both groups in the freedom from aortic-related mortality (≤5%: 95.0% at 5 years, >5%: 96.7% at 5 years, p=0.928). However, the competing risk analyses revealed that the cumulative incidence of RTAD was statistically significantly greater in the >5% oversizing group than in the ≤5% oversizing group (≤5%: 1(0.7%) at 5 years, >5%: 6(6.9%) at 5 years, p=0.007). All RTADs occurred within a year of TEVAR. The differences in the cumulative incidences of type I endoleak, distal SINE, and late reintervention were not significant between the 2 groups. Conclusion: The differences in the 5-year all-cause mortality and aortic-related mortality between patients with uncomplicated TBAD who received TEVAR with ≤5% oversizing and those who got TEVAR with >5% oversizing were insignificant. However, oversizing >5% was considerably associated with an increased risk of RTAD within a year of TEVAR, suggesting that oversizing ≤5% may be the appropriate size for TEVAR in patients with uncomplicated TBAD. Clinical Impact For patients with uncomplicated TBAD, choosing oversizing ≤5% in endovascular treatment is beneficial to reduce the risk of postoperative retrograde type A aortic dissection. This finding provides a basis for stent size selection in endovascular repair. In addition, one year after TEVAR is the main time period for postoperative retrograde type A aortic dissection, and attention should be paid to the management and follow-up of this period.

Due to problems in manufacturing process and forging technology, some of the workpieces production in the workshop have defects, which affects the ornamental value and utility of the workpieces. At present, the detection of workpiece defects is still mainly relying on manual detection, which consumes human resources and has a high detection error rate. To solve the above problems, deep learning is used to improve the detection of workpiece defects and reduce the cost of workpiece production. This article uses Faster R-CNN1 as the basic architecture and integrates Resnet502 as the backbone network. In addition, Deformable Convolutional Networks3 is introduced to extract defect features of different forms, and the multi-scale transformation problem is solved through Feature Pyramid Networks4. Comparing with YOLOv35, Faster R-CNN, Mask R-CNN6 and other models, the results show that the mAP of the object detection model based on Faster R-CNN is 89.21%, the detection effect is the best, and it can meet the actual production needs.

As the development of deep learning, the accuracy and speed of object detection tasks are constantly improved, and more and more neural network models meet the needs of object detection. Many network models provide a new possibility for workpiece detection in factory workshops. However, the existing object detection model has the problems of large parameters, slow running speed and high memory consumption, which makes it difficult to be applied to the actual workshop production scene. In order to solve the above problems, based on the research of network model compression and acceleration algorithm, this paper optimizes the classical mobile Mobilenet-yolov3 network by quantification and pruning, and makes experimental analysis and comparison with existing result. The experimental results show that using the same workpiece data set, the new model can get the same effect in F1 score and accuracy rate as the original model, and also slightly improve the recall rate. Compared with the original model, the computational complexity and model size and the Flops (forward inference speed) are greatly reduced.

Aims To retrospectively compare the efficacy of transcatheter chemoembolization (TACE) plus percutaneous radiofrequency ablation (PRFA) (hereafter, TACE + PRFA) and laparoscopic radiofrequency ablation (LRFA) in the treatment of inoperable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods From July 2014 to December 2017, 132 consecutive patients with inoperable HCC were treated with TACE + PRFA (n = 86) or LRFA (n = 46). Overall survival (OS) and recurrence-free survival (RFS) were analyzed using log-rank test and Cox regression analysis. Propensity score matched (PSM) analyses based on patient and tumor characteristics were also conducted. Additionally, we performed exploratory analyses to determine the effectiveness of TACE + PRFA and LRFA in clinically relevant subsets. Results The baseline characteristics of TACE + PRFA patients displayed relatively inferior liver status and a higher rate of BCLC-B disease. In this paper, a new sinusoidal cascade chaotic map model is proposed, which constructs chaotic system by sinusoidal cascade of two identical 1D chaotic maps. This model can generate 1D chaotic system with wider parameter range and wider chaotic region. To verify its application in image encryption, a chaotic image encryption algorithm based on spiral traversal and finite field bidirectional diffusion is proposed. The pseudo-random sequences generated by three kinds of 1D chaotic maps improved by the sinusoidal cascade chaotic map model are used as the ciphers of the cryptosystem. Among them, SHA-256, SHA-512 and plain image are combined to generate the initial value of the system. The experimental results and security analysis show that the encryption algorithm designed in this paper can effectively resist exhaustive attack, differential attack, noise attack and so on, and the proposed model has superior performance in encryption speed and security.

We investigated the risk factors for distal stent graft-induced new entry (dSINE) after thoracic endovascular aortic repair for patients with uncomplicated type B aortic dissection (TBAD) and reported the outcomes of using a tapered stent graft and dSINE reintervention.A total of 226 patients with uncomplicated TBAD who had undergone thoracic endovascular aortic repair between January 2010 and December 2018 were analyzed retrospectively. The global features of the thoracic aorta and the local features of the proximal and distal landing zones were evaluated and compared between the dSINE and non-dSINE groups. A multivariate Cox model was used to identify the independent risk factors for dSINE. The cumulative incidence of reintervention was estimated using competing risk models.After a median follow-up of 4.6 years, 16 patients (7.1%) had developed dSINE. Multivariable Cox regression analysis demonstrated that a type III aortic arch, decreased angle, increased distal oversizing, and increased distal mismatch ratio were significant risk factors for dSINE. Of the patients with tapered stent grafts, five with a ≤4-mm taper had developed dSINE. However, no dSINE was seen in the4-mm taper group (P = .024). Reintervention was performed for 7 of the 16 patients with dSINE (43.8%). The mean time from the initial detection of dSINE to reintervention was 6.43 ± 4.62 months. The competing risk analyses showed that the cumulative incidence of reintervention in the dSINE group at 1, 3, and 5 years was 25.0%, 37.5%, and 43.5%, respectively.A type III aortic arch, excessive distal oversizing and mismatch ratio, and severe angulation were associated with dSINE in patients with uncomplicated TBAD. The use of a tapered stent graft with a4-mm taper could help prevent dSINE in patients with a high taper ratio. Aggressive reintervention was associated with favorable long-term outcomes for patients with progressive dSINE.

In recent years, using Internet of Things (IoT) technology to build the intelligent functions in the Smart Grid has become one of the key development strategies of China State Grid Corporation. As a fundamental technology building block to IoT, wireless sensor network (WSN) technology faces greater technical challenges in power grids than in most of other domains. In the harsh deployment environment of a power grid, satisfying requirements such as low power consumption, good transmission coverage and high reliability are the key focuses for the WSN design. This paper presents our WSN design techniques that address the requirements for Smart Grid facilities. We demonstrate our WSN design in the supporting system of the LingZhou HVDC converter station with over 1600 wireless sensors installed. Our WSN system not only makes the converter station smarter, but also significantly reduce the cost of the installation and maintenance of the supporting system of the station.

Triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) can convert mechanical energy into electrical energy and has been regarded as a promising portable power source. However, the low output power restricts TENG’s applications in energy harvesters and sensors. Herein, we developed an effective way of increasing TENG’s output power by combining ferroelectricity and conduction of the triboelectric materials. For this purpose, a conductive interlayer modulated ferroelectric nanocomposite was used as the negative triboelectric material. Compared with the conventional ferroelectric nanocomposites based TENG, the transferred triboelectric charge density of the conductive interlayer modulated ferroelectric nanocomposite based TENG can reach 105.70 μC m−2 from 17.50 μC m−2, while the output power density increases to 7.21 W m−2 from 0.11 W m−2. The boosted output performance can be attributed to the existence of a conductive intermediate layer in the negative triboelectric material, which induces charge trapping and enhances ferroelectric polarization of the nanocomposites. Apart from being used as wearable energy harvesters, the TENG device also exhibits a promising application in parachuting surveillance for preventing potential injuries. Furthermore, TENG device has numerous possible application scenarios for future airborne troops. This work provides a brand-new strategy for enhancing contact electrification, showing strong potential in design of high output TENGs.

[Objective] In order to deal with the difficulty of choosing suitable colleges to fill in the report in a short time after Chinese candidates take the college entrance examination, the SVR-based combination prediction model was used to solve the problem. [Process and method] By collating and analyzing the enrollment data of Henan Province's colleges in the past years and the college entrance examination data of Henan candidates, combined with college application strategies and support vector machine regression combined forecasting models, it is possible to reasonably predict each institution minimum admission line. To explain the implementation of this model, an example of Henan Province's college admissions was used. [Results] The analysis of the examples shows that compared with the linear regression model, the gray prediction (GM) model, and the difficulty coefficient method prediction model, the combined prediction model can effectively improve the prediction accuracy. [Conclusion] The SVR-based combination prediction model can provide candidates with key reference information, thereby effectively solving the problem of candidates choosing a college.

Background Weightlessness is a component of the complex space environment. It exerts adverse effects on the human body, and may pose unknown challenges to the implementation of space missions. The regular function of the digestive system is an important checkpoint for astronauts to conduct missions. Simulated microgravity can recreate the changes experienced by the human body in a weightless environment in space to a certain extent, providing technical support for the exploration of its mechanism and a practical method for other scientific research. Methods and materials In the present study, we reviewed and discussed the latest research on the effects of weightlessness or simulated microgravity on the digestive system, as well as the current challenges and future expectations for progress in medical science and further space exploration. Results A series of studies have investigated the effects of weightlessness on the human digestive system. On one hand, weightlessness and the changing space environment may exert certain adverse effects on the human body. Studies based on cells or animals have demonstrated the complex effects on the human digestive system in response to weightlessness. On the other hand, a microgravity environment also facilitates the ideation of novel concepts for research in the domain of life science. Conclusion The effects of weightlessness on the digestive system are considerably complicated. The emergence of methods that help simulate a weightless environment provides a more convenient alternative for assessing the impact and the mechanism underlying the effect of weightlessness on the human body. In addition, the simulated microgravity environment facilitates the ideation of novel concepts for application in regenerative medicine and other fields of life science.

The understanding into the pathogenesis and treatment of gastric cancer has improved in recent years; however, a number of limitations have delayed the development of effective treatment. Cancer cells can undergo glycolysis and inhibit oxidative phosphorylation in the presence of oxygen (Warburg effect). Previous studies have demonstrated that a rotary cell culture system (RCCS) can induce glycolytic metabolism. In addition, the potential of regulating cancer cells by targeting their metabolites has led to the rapid development of metabolomics. In the present study, human HGC-27 gastric cancer cells were cultured in a RCCS bioreactor, simulating weightlessness. Subsequently, liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry was used to examine the effects of simulated microgravity (SMG) on the metabolism of HGC-27 cells. A total of 67 differentially regulated metabolites were identified, including upregulated and downregulated metabolites. Compared with the normal gravity group, phosphatidyl ethanolamine, phosphatidyl choline, arachidonic acid and sphinganine were significantly upregulated in SMG conditions, whereas sphingomyelin, phosphatidyl serine, phosphatidic acid, L-proline, creatine, pantothenic acid, oxidized glutathione, adenosine diphosphate and adenosine triphosphate were significantly downregulated. The Human Metabolome Database compound analysis revealed that lipids and lipid-like metabolites were primarily affected in an SMG environment in the present study. Overall, the findings of the present study may aid our understanding of gastric cancer by identifying the underlying mechanisms of metabolism of the disease under SMG.

Osteoarthritis is a common type of degenerative joint disease. Inflammation-related chondrocyte senescence plays a major role in the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis. Omentin-1 is a newly identified anti-inflammatory adipokine involved in lipid metabolism. In this study, we examined the biological function of omentin-1 in cultured chondrocytes. The presence of omentin-1 potently suppresses IL-1β-induced cellular senescence as revealed by staining with senescence-associated beta-galactosidase (SA-β-Gal). At the cellular level, omentin-1 attenuates IL-1β-induced G1 phase cell-cycle arrest. Mechanistically, we demonstrate that omentin-1 reduced IL-1β-induced expression of senescent factors including caveolin-1, p21, and PAI-1 as well as p53 acetylation through ameliorating SIRT1 reduction. Notably, silencing of SIRT1 abolishes IL-1β-induced senescence along with the induction of p21 and PAI-1, suggesting that the action of omentin-1 in chondrocytes is dependent on SIRT1. Collectively, our results revealed the molecular mechanism through which the adipokine omentin-1 exerts a beneficial effect, thereby protecting chondrocytes from senescence. Thus, omentin-1 could have clinical implication in the treatment of osteoarthritis.

Introduction The Adult Neurodevelopmental Service in Singapore is the first service of its kind in South-East Asia for adults with intellectual disability (ID) and/or autism spectrum disorder (ASD). However, few studies have documented and compared the sociodemographic characteristics and clinical needs of this subpopulation group. Methods Initial assessments conducted from 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2016 were retrospectively reviewed for this descriptive study. Results A total of 272 patients were included in the study (mean age 28.3 ± 11.5; 200 males, 72 females). Adults with ID comprised the largest percentage (52.9%), followed by those with ASD (30.2%), and then those with co-occurring ASD and ID (16.9%). The ASD subgroup had the highest proportion of individuals with employment, postsecondary school education, functional capabilities, and a psychiatric disorder. In comparison, adults with only ID and adults with co-occurring ASD and ID shared similar lower levels of education and employment, and had a higher proportion of individuals with epilepsy and aggressive behavior. Discussion In this study, adults with ASD had a unique social profile with different clinical needs compared to adults with only ID or to adults with co-occurring ASD and ID. Adults with only ID and those with co-occurring ASD shared many of the same social characteristics and high clinical needs. The analysis of these profiles will be useful in developing services that better meet the needs of this complex group.

According to the partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) score plot, a VIP 1 and P 0.05 were obtained for the 57 different metabolites, of which 23 molecules were significantly downregulated and 34 were significantly upregulated in simulated microgravity (SMG) group. These results showed that SMG has a significant impact on different pathways, and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis indicated that multiple pathways were involved, mainly the amino acid metabolism pathway, lipid metabolism pathway, membrane transport pathway, and cell growth and death pathways. Thus, the metabolic profile of EpSCs was changed under SMG. Exploring the metabolic profile of EpSCs would be helpful to further understand the growth characteristics of EpSCs under SMG, which will provide a new approach to explore the metabolomics mechanism of stress injury and repair trauma under SMG.

Nanocomposites consisting of a flexible piezoelectric polymer and a reinforcing phase have shown great potential for constructing high-performance piezoelectric nanogenerators (PENGs). However, the weak interface and poor dispersion of piezoelectric reinforcing phase significantly impair the electromechanical properties (e.g., effective stress/strain, piezoelectric coefficients) of the nanocomposites, thus severely restricting the performance enhancement of the PENGs. In this study, we hydrothermally synthesized the piezoelectric reinforcing phase of BaTiO3 nanowires, and grafted a layer of high-modulus polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) onto the nanowire surface via surface-initiated polymerization. The PMMA coating layer forms a strong interface between BaTiO3 nanowires and the polymer matrix [i.e., poly(vinylidenefluoride-co-trifluoroethylene)], which efficiently improves dispersion of the BaTiO3 nanowires and stress transfer at the interface, therefore resulting in an enhanced output performance in the fibrous nanocomposite PENGs. The output voltage and current of the PMMA encapsulated BaTiO3 (PMMA@BaTiO3) nanowires-based PENG can reach to 12.6 V and 1.30 μA, with a maximum output power of 4.25 μW, which is 2.2 times and 7.6 times higher than the PENG with unmodified BaTiO3 nanowires and the PENG without BaTiO3 nanowires, respectively. Furthermore, the flexible PENG exhibits great stability that could continuously generate stable electrical pulses for 6000 cycles without any decline. This study provides a feasible approach of interface tailoring for achieving high-performance piezoelectric nanocomposite and shows the promising potential of the fibrous nanocomposites in biomechanical energy harvesters and smart wearable sensors.

Synthetic goethite (FeOOH), magnesium oxide (MgO), and cerium oxide (CeO2) were used as catalysts to enhance the ozonation of filtered raw river water. The UV absorbance (at 254 nm), dissolved organic carbon (DOC), molecular weight distribution (MWD), and also excitation–emission matrix fluorescence (EEM) changes of the filtered water were evaluated before and after catalytic ozonation and single ozonation to compare the degradation efficiency of natural organic matter (NOM) in the filtered water among the systems. The results showed that CeO2 catalytic ozonation performed best on UV254 removal. The addition of tert-butanol (TBA) in the systems had less effect on the removal of UV254, indicating that UV254 removal mainly resulted from direct oxidation. The mineralization of NOM in the filtered water by FeOOH catalytic ozonation and MgO catalytic ozonation was significantly better than that of single ozonation and CeO2 catalytic ozonation. DOC removal depended on hydroxyl radical (HO˙) formation, which could also be verified by the changes of MWD. From the results of EEM, both fulvic acid and humic acid were oxidized effectively during catalytic ozonation and single ozonation while some differences among the systems emerged due to the different degradation mechanisms. Humic acid was oxidized followed by fulvic acid in single ozonation while they were oxidized simultaneously in the catalytic ozonation. Catalytic ozonation in the presence of MgO and FeOOH could oxidize humic acid and fulvic acid effectively due to the formation of HO˙. CeO2 catalytic ozonation would reduce fulvic acid, which was rich in carboxylate more effectively than humic acid mainly through complexation. In brief, catalytic ozonation would shorten the reaction time and also increase the mineralization of organic matter in the filtered water compared with single ozonation. This study has a certain reference value for practical application of catalytic ozonation in the water treatment plants.

This study examined validity of the CY-BOCS (Children’s Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale) and its clinical utility as an assessment tool in a Singapore clinical sample. It also examined correlates between the CY-BOCS and other measures of psychological impairment, anxiety and depression. Sample: A parent-child paired sample of fifty-eight children/adolescents (8 - 18 years old) diagnosed with OCD and sixty of their parents were recruited from the Child Guidance Clinic. All children and adolescents had a principal diagnosis of OCD according to DSM-IV-TR criteria. Instruments: The CY-BOCS, the Child Behaviour Checklist, the Computerised Diagnostic Interview Schedule for children were completed by the parents. The Multidimensional Anxiety Scale for children and the Asian Children Depression Scale were administered to the children. In addition, the Clinical Global Impression -Severity Scale was completed by the clinician. Results showed that the CY-BOCS demonstrated good convergent validity with a measure of global psychological impairment, and reasonable divergent validity with measures of anxiety and depression. The obsession and compulsion severity scales of the CY-BOCS demonstrated good to excellent internal reliability and showed strongly positive and statistically significant correlations with relevant variables in conceptually correct directions. The CY-BOCS is a clinically useful tool for assessment of the degree of impairment and stress in Singaporean child and adolescent patients diagnosed as suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

There should be confusion about diagnosis and treatment for multiple segments cervical myelopathy in some respects. The author reviewed the literature and combined with clinical experience, proposed a new classification for cervical myelopathy according to responsibility segment areas, which dividing into single segment,double segments (continues or jumping type), multi-segment (≥ three segments). The responsible segments determination is the premise of diagnosis and also a key to determine surgical decompression segment. Decompression only according to imaging was not desirable, surgical segment should mainly relies on clinical, imaging, electrophysiological and comprehensive analysis to avoid surgery range expansion. Surgical approach and procedures are still the focus and hotspot of cervical myelopathy treatment, and no treatment standards and corresponding guidelines to consult. The author proposes that surgical approach should advocate the individual, and surgical procedure should follow simple instead of complicate, anterior and posterior combined decompression is not necessary in most cases, and anterior and posterior fixation are not need.

a b s t r a c t The adsorption behavior of activated carbon fibers (ACFs) modified by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method on methylene blue (MB) was investigated in details. The Brunauer-Emmet-Teller (BET) surface area analysis, scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis were employed to characterize the samples. The results showed that the pore size of the ACFs had a significant change after CVD modification. In addition, it was found that carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were well distributed on the surface of ACFs. FTIR analysis for mod- ified ACFs after adsorption showed intensity changes of absorption peaks, in comparison to that before adsorption. The adsorption capacity at equilibrium increased with the increase of pH. Moreover, attempts were made to fit the isothermal data using Langmuir and Freundlich equations. The results manifested that the experimental data were well fitted by Freundlich equation. Furthermore, the adsorption kinet- ics was analyzed by pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order and intra-particle diffusion models. The results demonstrated that the kinetic data were well described by pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The adsorption rate was controlled by intra-particle diffusion and film diffusion and thermodynamic parameters includingG, � H andS were also determined. This showed that the adsorption process was a spontaneous, endothermic and increasing randomness process. The calculated Ea was 28.33 kJ/mol, indicating that the adsorption could be a physisorption process. © 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

With the surface movement observation data derived from subcritical mining, Matlab curve fitting is applied to calculate predicting parameters of the probability integral method. Other conditions kept unchangeable, the size of the working face is extended to achieve full exploitation degree. The displacement and horizontal strain values are calculated by use of the probability integral method, and the subsidence, slope, curvature, horizontal strain curves are generated, thus, the displacement angles of strata under the condition of critical mining are consequently inversed. It is of theoretical significance and of practical value for delimiting the damaged scope and designing the protection pillar size reasonably.

To enhance the effective of the land in mining subsidence areas, realize the development of new rural construction and urbanization. According to the geological and mining conditions, the scale, shape and regularity of the potential crack areas in the coal goafs, separated overburden strata, and the influencing factors which affect the deformation foundation of architecture and stability are studied. Probability integral method is used to establish the further deformations formula of the building foundations in mining subsidence areas. The monitoring data from the ground observation stations are used to invert the further deformation predicting parameters, the surface further deformations of each coal goafs, and the whole surface’s further deformations are calculated by the superposition method. The foundation further deformations, geological structures, etc, are comprehensively taken into consideration. The stability of the building foundations in mining subsidence area are analyzed and evaluated. Research results are very valuable to process, design, and plan the foundations of the buildings in coal mining subsidence areas.

It is difficult to accurately calculate the predicting parameters of surface displacement of mining subsidence. Based on the measured data of the ground movement observation station in North China, The probability integral method is taken as mathematical model of Surface movement parameters fitting, the curve-fitting of the measured data is carried out by using Matlab’s efficient data processing and mapping function, thus it becomes easy to obtain accurate predicting parameters of mining subsidence. By comparing the measured data with the curve-fitting results, the research shows that the fitting results based on Matlab is more accurate, and meet the requirements of practical engineering. It is important and practically significant to improve the predicting accuracy of mining subsidence, give scientific and rational guidance to mining under the buildings, railways and water bodies.
