Abstract It is of critical importance to address energy poverty in rural areas if inclusive prosperity is to be achieved. Digital finance offers new opportunities to alleviate energy poverty in these regions. However, previous studies have mainly focused on the impact of digital finance on poverty, neglecting research on its impact in rural areas and on specific forms of poverty. This study aims to fill this gap by investigating the impact of digital finance on rural energy poverty. The period 2011–2021 was selected as the observation period, with 31 provinces serving as the study objects. The fixed effects model was employed to investigate the impact of digital finance on rural energy poverty, while exploring the mediating effect. The results indicate that digital finance alleviates the level of rural energy poverty, and this conclusion remains valid following a series of robustness tests. Furthermore, digital finance can indirectly alleviate rural energy poverty through technological innovation and agricultural entrepreneurship activities. Further research indicates that the impact of digital finance on rural energy poverty is more pronounced in regions with abundant human capital, robust government intervention, and minimal urban–rural disparities. This study extends the theoretical support for digital finance to indirectly support rural energy to alleviate poverty. Likewise, this finding provides a new perspective for the government and relevant departments to improve the welfare of residents and alleviate rural energy poverty.

Abstract Background Cis-regulatory elements (CREs) play a pivotal role in gene expression regulation, allowing cells to serve diverse functions and respond to external stimuli. Understanding CREs is essential for personalized medicine and disease research, as an increasing number of genetic variants associated with phenotypes and diseases overlap with CREs. However, existing databases often focus on subsets of regulatory elements and present each identified instance of element individually, confounding the effort to obtain a comprehensive view. To address this gap, we have created CREdb, a comprehensive database with over 10 million human regulatory elements across 1,058 cell types and 315 tissues harmonized from different data sources. We curated and aligned the cell types and tissues to standard ontologies for efficient data query. Results Data from 11 sources were curated and mapped to standard ontological terms. 11,223,434 combined elements are present in the final database, and these were merged into 5,666,240 consensus elements representing the combined ranges of the individual elements informed by their overlap. Each consensus element contains curated metadata including the number of elements supporting it and a hash linking to the source databases. The inferred activity of each consensus element in various cell-type and tissue context is also provided. Examples presented here show the potential utility of CREdb in annotating non-coding genetic variants and informing chromatin accessibility profiling analysis. Conclusions We developed CREdb, a comprehensive database of CREs, to simplify the analysis of CREs by providing a unified framework for researchers. CREdb compiles consensus ranges for each element by integrating the information from all instances identified across various source databases. This unified database facilitates the functional annotation of non-coding genetic variants and complements chromatin accessibility profiling analysis. CREdb will serve as an important resource in expanding our knowledge of the epigenome and its role in human diseases.

Abstract Background The caregiver contribution to self-care plays an important role in improving the health outcomes of chronic patients, which needs urgent attention. However, it has been hindered by the lack of a tailored instrument that assesses the caregiver contribution to self-care of stroke. Objectives To test the psychometric characteristics of the caregiver contribution to self-care of stroke Inventory (CC-SCSI) in health care practice. Methods Participants were recruited in Henan Province from March 2021 to October 2022, utilizing a multicenter stratified sampling approach. A 23-item self-report CC-SCSI with 3 separate scales measuring caregiver contribution to self-care maintenance of stroke, caregiver contribution to self-care monitoring of stroke and caregiver contribution to self-care management of stroke was tested for validity through discriminant validity, confirmatory factor analysis, concurrent validity and convergent validity. The reliability was tested by Cronbach’s α coefficient and test-retest reliability. Qualitative data were analysed using thematic analysis. A STROBE checklist was used. Results The three scales of the CC-SCSI exhibited good discriminant validity. Confirmatory factor analysis supported the three-factor structure of the Caregiver Contribution to Stroke Self-Care Maintenance and Management scales and the one-factor structure of the Caregiver Contribution to Stroke Self-Care Monitoring scale. The moderate correlation between the CC-SCSI and the Self-Care of Stroke Inventory indicated acceptable concurrent validity. The moderate correlation between the CC-SCSI and the Caregiver Contribution to Self-Care of Chronic Illness Inventory indicated acceptable convergent validity. Cronbach’s αs for the Caregiver Contribution to Self-Care Maintenance, Self-Care Monitoring, and Self-Care Management scales ranged from 0.876 to 0.974. Abstract Background Small intestinal monomorphic–epitheliotropic intestinal T-cell lymphoma (MEITL) is a rare aggressive T-cell lymphoma originating in the gastrointestinal tract. This study aimed to investigate the clinicopathological features, immunophenotypes, and molecular genetic changes of MEITL. Methods The clinicopathological data for three patients with surgically resected MEITL of the small intestine were collected. Next, immunohistochemical labeling, Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) in situ hybridization, assessment of clonal rearrangement of T-cell receptor (TCR) genes, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) were performed. Results Of the three patients, two were male and one was female, with ages of 61, 67, and 73 years, respectively. Clinical manifestations were predominantly abdominal pain and distension. Histopathology revealed infiltrative growth of small-to-medium-sized lymphocytes with a consistent morphology between the intestinal walls, accompanied by an obvious pro-epithelial phenomenon. The expression of CD3, CD8, CD43, CD56, TIA-1, CD103, H3K36me3, and Bcl-2 was detected, and the Ki-67 proliferation index ranged from 50% to 80%. All three patients tested negative for EBER. However, monoclonal rearrangement of the TCR gene was detected in them. NGS testing showed a JAK3 mutation in all three cases. Further, STAT5B, SETD2, and TP53 mutations were each observed in two cases, and a BCOR mutation was found in one case. All patients were treated with chemotherapy after surgery. Two patients died 7 and 15 month post-operation, and one patient survived for 5 months of follow-up. Conclusions Our findings demonstrate that mutations in JAK3 and STAT5B of the JAK/STAT pathway and inactivation of the oncogene SETD2 markedly contribute to the lymphomagenesis of MEITL.

[Objective] In view of the increasing number of large-scale transfer stations in urban rail transit, which are characterized by deep burial depth, intensive personnel, limited escape and rescue sites, the difficulty and pressure of emergency and disaster prevention is very prominent. It is necessary to design the emergency and disaster prevention for such type of stations. [Method] With Optics Valley Plaza Complex in Wuhan as a practical case, the disaster characteristics faced by the large-scale transfer station are analyzed from five key aspects i.e. fire prevention, large passenger flow prevention, flood prevention, terrorist attack prevention and emergency epidemic protection. Solutions to the different types of disasters are proposed in combination with scheme design, simulation, calculation and analysis. [Result & Conclusion] Using open building layout and run-through pedestrian traffic layer, and setting up quasi-safety areas with natural smoke exhaust and sunken square are the effective fire prevention measures for the large underground space under difficult conditions. Analyzing the peak passenger flow based on the characteristics of the station, classifying the users of different types and in different periods, and setting up relatively independent and less crossover flow lines are the ways to effectively prevent large passenger flow. In addition to conventional flood prevention measures, strengthening hard isolation measures from surrounding underground spaces, such as adding flood doors, is a necessary means of flood prevention. Keeping the station clear, evacuating passengers quickly, and avoiding passengers′ stagnation can effectively prevent terrorist attacks. In response to sudden epidemics, daily prevention and control management should be strictly implemented in accordance with China′s relevant national regulations, and general or larger epidemic response measures should be taken in a timely manner.

Abstract Target detection based on hyperspectral images refers to the integrated use of spatial information and spectral information to accomplish the task of localization and identification of targets. There are two main methods for hyperspectral target detection: supervised and unsupervised methods. Supervision method refers to the use of spectral differences between the target to be tested and the surrounding background to identify the target when the target spectrum is known. In ideal situations, supervised object detection algorithms perform better than unsupervised algorithms. However, the current supervised object detection algorithms mainly have two problems: firstly, the impact of uncertainty in the ground object spectrum, and secondly, the universality of the algorithm is poor. A hyperspectral target detection framework based on 3D–2D CNN and transfer learning was proposed to solve the problems of traditional supervised methods. This method first extracts multi-scale spectral information and then preprocesses hyperspectral images using multiple spectral similarity measures. This method not only extracts spectral features in advance, but also eliminates the influence of complex environments to a certain extent. The preprocessed feature maps are used as input for 3D–2D CNN to deeply learn the features of the target, and then, the softmax method is used to output and obtain the detection results. The framework draws on the ideas of integrated learning and transfer learning, solves the spectral uncertainty problem with the combined similarity measure and depth feature extraction network, and solves the problem of poor robustness of traditional algorithms by model migration and parameter sharing. The area under the ROC curve of the proposed method has been increased to over 0.99 in experiments on both publicly available remote sensing hyperspectral images and measured land-based hyperspectral images. The availability and stability of the proposed method have been demonstrated through experiments. A feasible approach has been provided for the development and application of specific target detection technology in hyperspectral images under different backgrounds in the future.

The coordinated development of green finance and technological innovation is a key driver of China's high-quality economic growth and therefore deserves close attention. But are green finance and technological innovation really coordinated? This study establishes a coordinating coupling system to link green finance and technological innovation. 2010–2021 is chosen as the observation period, and 31 provinces in China are selected for study. This paper uses the coupling coordination model to investigate the development of the coupling coordination of technological innovation and green finance, and discusses its spatial distribution by the Moran index. The results show that, overall, the degree of coupling coordination between green finance and technological innovation shows a consistent upward trend. The trend is particularly strong in the East. Moreover, the coordination coupling between green finance and technological innovation has the spatial effect. And it shows a binary characteristic, with a decreasing trend observed from coastal to inland regions. These results remained valid after replacing weight matrix and sample size.The above findings have important policy implications for optimising the synergistic development of green finance and technological innovation and achieving high-quality economic development.

Purpose: This study evaluated the first clinical implementation of daily iterative cone beam computed tomography (iCBCT)-guided online adaptive radiation therapy (oART) in the postoperative treatment of endometrial and cervical cancer. Methods and Materials: Seventeen consecutive patients treated with daily iCBCT-guided oART were enrolled in this prospective study, with a reduced uniform 3-dimensional PTV margin of 5 mm. Treatment plans were designed to deliver 45 or 50.4 Gy in 1.8 Gy daily fractions to PTV. Pre- and posttreatment ultrasound and iCBCT scans were performed to record intrafractional bladder and rectal volume changes. The accuracy of contouring, oART procedure time, dosimetric outcomes, and acute toxicity were evaluated. Results: The average time from first iCBCT acquisition to completion of treatment was 22 minutes and 26 seconds. During this period, bladder volume increased by 44 cm3 using iCBCT contouring, whereas rectal volume remained stable (62.9 cm3 pretreatment vs 61.9 cm3 posttreatment). A total of 91.6% of influencers and 88.1% of CTVs required no or minor edits. The adapted plan was selected in all (434) fractions and significantly improved the dosimetry coverage for CTV and PTV, especially the vaginal PTV coverage by nearly 7% (P < .05). The adapted bladder Dmean was 104.61 cGy, and the rectum Dmean was 123.67 cGy, significantly lower than the scheduled plan of 108.24 and 128.19 cGy, respectively. The bone marrow and femur head left and right dosimetry were also improved with adaptation. Grade 2 acute gastrointestinal and genitourinary toxicities were 24% and 0, respectively. There was a grade 3 acute toxicity of decreased white blood cell count in 1 patient. Conclusions: Daily oART was associated with favorable dosimetry improvement and low acute toxicity, supporting its safety and efficacy for postoperative treatment of endometrial and cervical cancer. These results need to be validated in a larger prospective randomized controlled cohort.

The fascial space of the oral and maxillofacial region contains loose connective tissues, which possess weak anti-infection ability and are often prone to infection, leading to acute suppurative inflammation and sepsis through blood. Although antibiotic use can reduce the probability of bacterial infections, owing to the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, the search for new antimicrobial drugs is imminent. Herein, we report a metal–organic framework (MOF) antibacterial material designed and synthesized with gallium (Ga) as the central atom, which possesses significant antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant effects. Our data suggested that GA-based MOFs (Ga–MOFs; 1 μg/mL) could sufficiently kill Porphyromonas gingivalis, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Staphylococcus aureus. Ga–MOFs exhibited a bactericidal effect against these three pathogens by disrupting biofilm formation, exopolysaccharide production, and bacterial membrane integrity. In addition, we found that 1 μg/mL of Ga–MOFs was not cytotoxic to human oral epithelial cell (HOEC) lines and it significantly reduced the adhesion of the three pathogens to HOEC. Ga–MOFs protect macrophages from excessive oxidative stress by scavenging excess intracellular reactive oxygen species and upregulating antioxidant gene levels, thereby enhancing cellular antioxidant defense. In addition, Ga–MOFs can promote the transformation of macrophages from the proinflammatory phenotype to the anti-inflammatory phenotype, thereby protecting oral health. Herein, novel Ga–MOF materials were chemically synthesized for therapeutic applications in oral infections, which provides new ideas for the development of novel nonantibiotic drugs to accelerate patient recovery.

Cases of mixed neuroendocrine-non-neuroendocrine neoplasms (MiNENs) of the urinary system are rare, and reports of primary MiNENs in the ureter are lacking. Herein, we present the case of a 71-year-old man who presented with painless gross hematuria and weight loss. Contrast-enhanced abdominal computed tomography (CT) revealed a tumor, comprising small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (SCNEC) and adenocarcinomatous components, attached to the ureter. The SCNEC components were strongly positive for synaptophysin, CD56 and INSM1 and adenocarcinomatous components were strongly positive for CDX2 and cytokeratin 20, respectively. Four weeks post-surgery, the patient received four cycles of cisplatin-based chemotherapy; the 7-month follow-up CT confirmed that he was healthy without disease recurrence. The occurrence of MiNEN in the ureter with SCNEC and adenocarcinomatous components is extremely rare, wherein histopathological and immunohistochemical features aid in the diagnosis MiNEN. With its aggressive nature, MiNEN can only be effectively treated by early diagnosis and radical surgery.

Abstract T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) is an aggressive subtype of ALL characterized by its high heterogeneity and unfavorable clinical features. Despite improved insights in genetic and epigenetic landscapes of T-ALL, the molecular mechanisms that drive malignant T-cell development remain unclear. BTB and CNC homology 2 (BACH2) is a lymphoid-specific transcription repressor recognized as a tumor suppressor in B-cell malignancies, but little is known about its function and regulatory network in T-ALL. Here we found extremely low levels of BACH2 in T-ALL clinical samples and cell lines compared to normal T cells. Overexpression of BACH2 in T-ALL cells not only induced cell growth retardation but also inhibited cancer progression and infiltration in xenografts. Further RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) analysis revealed significant alterations in regulation of defense and immune responses in T-ALL cells upon BACH2 overexpression. Strikingly, CD28 and CD40LG, two essential stimulatory molecules on T cells, were for the first time identified as novel downstream targets repressed by BACH2 in T-ALL cells. Interestingly, both CD28 and CD40LG were indispensable for T-ALL survival, since largely or completely silencing CD28 and CD40LG led to rapid cell death, whereas partial knockdown of them resulted in cell-cycle arrest and enhanced apoptosis. More importantly, BACH2-mediated CD28 and CD40LG signals contributed to cell migration and dissemination of T-ALL cells to the bone marrow, thus adding a new layer to the BACH2-mediated tumor immunoregulation in T-cell malignancies.

Parallel computing is a common method to accelerate remote sensing image processing. This article briefly describes six commonly used interpolation functions and studies three commonly used parallel computing methods of the corresponding nine interpolation algorithms in remote sensing image processing. First, two kinds of general parallel interpolation algorithms (for CPU and GPU, respectively) are designed. Then, in two typical application scenarios (data-intensive and computing-intensive), four computing methods (one serial method and three parallel methods) of these interpolation algorithms are tested. Finally, the acceleration effects of all parallel algorithms are compared and analyzed. On the whole, the acceleration effect of the parallel interpolation algorithm is better in computer-intensive scenario. In CPU-oriented methods, the speedup of all parallel interpolation algorithms mainly depends on the number of physical cores of CPU, whereas in GPU-oriented methods, a speedup is greatly affected by the computation complexity of an algorithm and the application scenario. GPU has a better acceleration effect on the interpolation algorithms with bigger computation complexity and has more advantages in the computing-intensive scenarios. In most cases, GPU-based interpolation is ideal for efficient interpolation.

The source area of the Yellow River (SAYR), located above the Huangheyan hydrological station, is important for ecological preservation and water source conservation in the Yellow River Basin. In this area, the impact of water conservation projects on the hydrology and the ecological environment is pivotal in protecting water resources and alpine vegetation ecosystems. This study investigates the impact of the Yellow River Source Hydropower Station on the runoff and ecological evolution of the SAYR, along with the underlying mechanism, using extensive datasets encompassing long-term meteorological, hydrological and remote sensing data from various time periods. Results show that, over the long term, precipitation is the primary factor driving runoff variations in the SAYR. Nevertheless, from 1990 to 2020, there is a notably inconsistent relationship between precipitation and runoff. After the completion of the Yellow River Source Hydropower Station in 2001, the water level of Eling Lake experienced and elevation of 2–3 m, leading to a gradual recovery of runoff. In addition, the basin's water balance shifted from a negative to a positive equilibrium, oscillating with changes in lake water levels. Consequently, the overflow zone of the Tangchama alluvial–proluvial fan in the upper reaches of the lakeshore shifted by 500 m, and marsh wetlands expanded by 20.78 km2. The increased storage of lakes and groundwater in the SAYR is the key controlling factor for the runoff recovery, changes in the basin's water balance, and enhancements in lakeshore vegetation ecology. Under the geological background of the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau's upliftment and intensified upstream river erosion, the basin experienced a substantial water imbalance due to declining discharge base levels, which is the most critical factor behind runoff attenuation in the SAYR towards the end of the 20th century. The construction of the hydropower station objectively raised the drainage base level of the basin, thereby positively contributing to the preservation of water balance, runoff stability, and the enhancement of swamps and wetlands along the lakeshore.

Abstract In land-based spectral imaging, the spectra of ground objects are inevitably affected by the imaging conditions (weather conditions, atmospheric conditions, light conditions, zenith and azimuth angle conditions) and spatial distribution of targets, leading to uncertainties featured by “same object different spectrum”. That is, the spectrum of a ground object may change within a certain range under different imaging conditions. Traditional target detection (TD) methods are mainly based on similarity measurements and do not fully account for the spectral uncertainties. These detection methods are prone to false detections or missed detections. Therefore, reducing the impact of spectral uncertainties on TD is an important research topic in hyperspectral imaging. In this paper, we first review traditional TD methods and compare their principles and characteristics. It is found that the spectral correlation angle (SCA) method has good adaptability in land-based imaging. The shortcoming of the SCA method that it cannot reflect the local spectrum characteristics, is also analyzed. As the effect of spectral uncertainties cannot be completely overcome by the SCA method, a new similarity measurement method, the weighted spectral correlation angle (WSCA) method, is proposed. It can reduce the influence of spectral uncertainties on TD by increasing the weight of particular bands. Finally, we use two sets of experiments to analyze the effect of the WSCA method on TD. Its performance in overcoming spectral uncertainties caused by variations in imaging conditions or uneven spatial distributions of targets is tested. The results show that the WSCA method can effectively reduce the influence of spectral uncertainties and obtain a good detection result. Graphical Abstract

Abstract Background The rapid reproduction of malaria parasites requires proper iron uptake. However, the process of iron absorption by parasites is rarely studied. Divalent metal transporter (DMT1) is a critical iron transporter responsible for uptaking iron. A homolog of human DMT1 exists in the malaria parasite genome, which in Plasmodium yoelii is hereafter named PyDMT1. Results PyDMT1 knockout appears to be lethal. Surprisingly, despite dwelling in an iron-rich environment, the parasite cannot afford to lose even partial expression of PyDMT1; PyDMT1 hypomorphs were associated with severe growth defects and quick loss of pathogenicity. Iron supplementation could completely suppress the defect of the PyDMT1 hypomorph during in vitro culturing. Genetic manipulation through host ferritin (Fth1) knockout to increase intracellular iron levels enforced significant growth inhibition in vivo on the normal parasites but not the mutant. In vitro culturing with isolated ferritin knockout mouse erythrocytes completely rescued PyDMT1-hypomorph parasites. Conclusion A critical iron requirement of malaria parasites at the blood stage as mediated by this newly identified iron importer PyDMT1, and the iron homeostasis in malarial parasites is finely tuned. Tipping the iron balance between the parasite and host will efficiently kill the pathogenicity of the parasite. Lastly, PyDMT1 hypomorph parasites were less sensitive to the action of artemisinin.

Extracting precise geographical information from the textual content, referred to as toponym recognition, is fundamental in geographical information retrieval and crucial in a plethora of spatial analyses, e.g. mining location-based information from social media, news reports, and surveys for various applications. However, the performance of existing toponym recognition methods and tools is deficient in supporting tasks that rely on extracting fine-grained geographic information from texts, e.g. locating people sending help requests with addresses through social media during disasters. The emerging pretrained language models have revolutionized natural language processing and understanding by machines, offering a promising pathway to optimize toponym recognition to underpin practical applications. In this paper, TopoBERT, a uniquely designed toponym recognition module based on a one-dimensional Convolutional Neural Network (CNN1D) and Bidirectional Encoder Representation from Transformers (BERT), is proposed and fine-tuned. Three datasets are leveraged to tune the hyperparameters and discover the best strategy to train the model. Another seven datasets are used to evaluate the performance. TopoBERT achieves state-of-the-art performance (average f1-score = 0.854) compared to the seven baseline models. It is encapsulated into easy-to-use python scripts and can be seamlessly applied to diverse toponym recognition tasks without additional training.

The supra-permafrost water is a vital water source to support the ecosystem and an important link in maintaining the hydrothermal cycle in the permafrost area. Under the intensification of climate change, scientific understanding of the effect of permafrost degradation on the supra-permafrost water is of great significance to water resources and ecological protection. Focusing on the hydrological effects of permafrost degradation in the source areas of the Yellow River, this study analyzed the degradation characteristics of permafrost, and revealed the response of the depth of groundwater level and recharge process of the supra-permafrost water to the permafrost degradation, on the basis of the temperature and moisture content of frozen soil at typical monitoring points and the runoff change at the Huangheyan Hydrologic Station. The results show that the average temperature increased 0.42 °C at the 0−2.4 m profile of the monitoring point from 2010 to 2020. The depth of the upper interface of the permafrost reduced from 2.1m to 2.5 m, with an average decrease rate of 4cm/a. After 2018, the depth of supra-permafrost water level reduced from less than 0.9 m to 0.9−1.8 m. The permafros degradation led to the runoff process in the melting period of active layer (May−October) being advanced, the ratio of extreme value being reduced，and the runoff hydrograph in January being more prominent. Ground temperature is the dominant factor in controlling the changes of depth of the supra-permafrost water. Under the condition of warm and humid climate change, Permafrost degradation would change the dynamic characteristics of the water above the frozen layer and its hydraulic relationship with surface water, affecting the hydrological and ecological processes in the source area of the Yellow River.

To address global climate change and achieve high-quality development, China has to reach carbon peaking and carbon neutrality targets as objective requirements. Based on data from 30 Chinese provinces from 2011 to 2021, this study used a two-factor fixed effects and a mechanism model to test the effects and mechanisms of digital finance on carbon performance. The findings imply that the development of digital finance has a nonlinear effect of the ''first inhibit, then promote'' principle on carbon performance. Meanwhile, both the coverage breadth and usage depth of digital finance have a more significant impact on carbon performance. Digital financing can improve regional carbon performance through green technology innovation, industrial upgrades, and energy structure optimization. In addition, this effect exhibited significant heterogeneity. Specifically, the higher the level of marketization and the lower the urban–rural income gap, the more significant the nonlinear effect. The eastern region has the advantage of being rich in resources and technology, and the effect in the eastern region is more obvious compared to central and western regions. Therefore, China should accelerate the integration of financial services with modern digital technologies to achieve low-carbon development based on local conditions.

This paper introduces a novel approach to attain the shot-noise limit in laser frequency-shift feedback (LFSF) imaging systems by employing a polarization-modulated optical loop. Compared to the traditional LFSF imaging system, the proposed system effectively eliminates detrimental parasitic feedback signals, enhancing both the signal-to-noise ratio and the response range of the LFSF imaging system. Specifically, in the polarization-modulated optical loop, only the measurement light propagating through the loop undergoes efficient modulation, while the parasitic feedback light experiences high-frequency modulation beyond the bandwidth of the photodetector. Experimental findings demonstrate the superiority of our proposed system over traditional LFSF imaging systems in the insensitivity of parasitic feedback, showcasing a higher signal-to-noise ratio and response range. Moreover, the proposed system achieved a distinctive polarization imaging technique, which exhibits the capability to discern and analyze the distinct specular reflection and depolarized scattering components in the measurement light, thus providing more comprehensive target information.

The Weihe Basin, located in central China, stands out for its significant earthquake activity while concurrently harboring promising geothermal reservoirs. The potential association between these two geological occurrences and the underlying mechanisms remain enigmatic. Here, we compile a catalog of historic earthquakes, total strain data, data related to crustal mantle structure, surface heat flow data, and heat production data of the rocks in the Weihe Basin. Our aim is to unveil the intricate interplay among the occurrence of earthquakes, tectonic activity, and the genesis of geothermal resources. Our findings reveal that earthquake activity in the Weihe Basin is regulated by the responses of faults or fractures intricately influenced by regional tectonics. These tectonic processes are responsible for the formation of favorable geothermal resources beneath the basin. We propose there is a weak zone beneath the basin, which is controlled by a combination of tectonic processes and the flow of the asthenosphere. We finally establish a comprehensive model to visualize the genesis of the occurrence of earthquakes and the formation of geothermal resources. These results have important guiding significance for future research endeavors in the realms of both geothermal exploration and earthquake investigations within the Weihe Basin.

Objective: Ferritin, the principal iron storage protein, is essential to iron homeostasis. How iron homeostasis affects the adipose tissue is not well understood. We investigated the role of ferritin heavy chain in adipocytes in energy metabolism. Methods: We generated adipocyte-specific ferritin heavy chain (Fth, also known as Fth1) knockout mice, herein referred to as FthAKO. These mice were analyzed for iron homeostasis, oxidative stress, mitochondrial biogenesis and activity, adaptive thermogenesis, insulin sensitivity, and metabolic measurements. Mouse embryonic fibroblasts and primary mouse adipocytes were used for in vitro experiments. Results: In FthAKO mice, the adipose iron homeostasis was disrupted, accompanied by elevated expression of adipokines, dramatically induced heme oxygenase 1(Hmox1) expression, and a notable decrease in the mitochondrial ROS level. Cytosolic ROS elevation in the adipose tissue of FthAKO mice was very mild, and we only observed this in the brown adipose tissue (BAT) but not in the white adipose tissue (WAT). FthAKO mice presented an altered metabolic profile and showed increased insulin sensitivity, glucose tolerance, and improved adaptive thermogenesis. Interestingly, loss of ferritin resulted in enhanced mitochondrial respiration capacity and a preference for lipid metabolism. Conclusions: These findings indicate that ferritin in adipocytes is indispensable to intracellular iron homeostasis and regulates systemic lipid and glucose metabolism.

Abstract Background Primary adenoid cystic carcinoma (AdCC) of the tracheobronchial tree is very rare with a high risk for recurrence and metastasis. The diagnosis of AdCC by histologic and immunohistochemical means has been well studied clinically. However, the identification of AdCC by cytologic features remains elusive due to the atypical features the cancer presents. This study aimed to describe the cytologic features of AdCC by using bronchial brushing, which could aid in distinguishing AdCC from other pulmonary carcinomas. Methods The cytopathological features of bronchial brushing smears collected from seven cases were histologically diagnosed as AdCC. The defined cytologic features, which could potentially be diagnostic, were systemically analyzed. Results Four out of the seven cytologic cases were inconcordance with the histologic diagnosis and cytologically classified as positive for malignant cells, small cell carcinoma, or atypical cells. Three cases showed a characteristic adenoid structure and magenta stroma forming globule, which was distinguished from the four cases. Cytologically, the above mentioned three cases were uniform with relatively small bland nuclei and little cytoplasm. In this study, only one case showed atypical polygonal medium-sized cells with conspicuous nucleoli. Conclusions Unlike fine-needle aspiration cytology, magenta stroma globules might offer an alternate clue for cytodiagnosis of AdCC clinically. Bronchial brushings cytology was more present in bland uniform cells with high nuclear to cytoplasmic ratios and background mucoid substance. More cases should be collected and confirmed using histopathology with careful film reading to reduce the rate of misdiagnosis.

Abstract Introduction The objective of the present study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of MP-AzeFlu nasal spray in comparison to commercially available azelastine hydrochloride and fluticasone propionate sprays in Chinese patients with moderate-to-severe allergic rhinitis (AR). Methods We conducted a 14-day multicenter, randomized, double-blind, active controlled prospective clinical study in adult and adolescent patients with AR, who had moderate-to-severe symptoms. The primary efficacy endpoint was the change from baseline in combined 12-h reflective total nasal symptom score (rTNSS) (morning [AM] + afternoon [PM]). The safety profile of the study medications was assessed through the recording, reporting, and analysis of baseline medical conditions, adverse events (AEs), vital signs, and focused nasal examination. Three hundred patients per treatment group were randomized, which led to a total sample size estimation of 900 patients. Abstract Objective Although several mucosal flap techniques have been reported to improve the outcomes in Draf IIb and Draf III procedures, there is scant knowledge on frontal ostium neo‐osteogenesis after reconstruction with mucosa flap. This study evaluates the potential benefits of mucosa flaps on frontal ostium neo‐osteogenesis after frontal sinus drill‐out procedures. Methods Forty‐three patients who underwent extended Draf IIb and Draf III were enrolled. Among them, 20 patients had frontal neo‐ostium (FNO) reconstructed by mucosal flap (group A), and 23 patients did not have neo‐ostium reconstruction (group B). The cross‐sectional area of FNO, frontonasal bone, and the amount of frontal neo‐osteogenesis (FNOG) were measured with OsiriX®. Purpose: The aim of this study was to explore the relationship between non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and the two blood inflammatory markers including the systemic immune-inflammation (SII) index, and the system inflammation response index (SIRI). Methods: The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data between the year of 2017–2018 was used for this cross-sectional study. In order to analyze the association of SII index, and SIRI and risk of NAFLD, we used multivariable logistic regression models, restricted cubic spline (RCS) plot, and subgroup analysis to analyze the data. Results: In total, there were 1,199 individuals who participated in the survey. As shown by the RCS plot, SII index, and SIRI were linked with NAFLD risk in a U-shaped pattern. With regard to known confounding variables, when comparing the lowest quartile, the odds ratio with 95 % confidence interval for prevalence of NAFLD across the quartiles of SII index and SIRI were (0.89 (0.57, 1.41), 0.56 (0.35, 0.89) and 1.01 (0.64, 1.59)), and (0.77 (0.48, 1.23), 0.79 (0.50, 1.24) and 0.94 (0.60, 1.47)), respectively. Additionally, SII index, and SIRI and NAFLD risk also were U-curve correlated among the participants in age ≥60 years, female, without hypertension, and BMI of ≥30 kg/m2. Conclusions: There was a U-shaped association of SII index and SIRI with prevalence of NAFLD, indicating that SII index and SIRI should be monitored dynamically.

Introduction: The effective and persistent suppression of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in patients with chronic HBV infection (CHB) is considered to be a promising approach to achieve a functional cure of hepatitis B. In our previous study, we found that the antibody E6F6 can clear HBsAg through FcγR-mediated phagocytosis, and its humanized form (huE6F6 antibody) is expected to be a new tool for the treatment of CHB. Previous studies have shown that the glycosylation of Fc segments affects the binding of antibodies to FcγR and thus affects the biological activity of antibodies in vivo.Methods: To further improve the therapeutic potential of huE6F6, in this study, we defucosylated huE6F6 (huE6F6-fuc-), preliminarily explored the developability of this molecule, and studied the therapeutic potential of this molecule and its underlying mechanism in vitro and in vivo models.Results: huE6F6-fuc- has desirable physicochemical properties. Compared with huE6F6-wt, huE6F6-fuc- administration resulted in a stronger viral clearance in vivo. Meanwhile, huE6F6-fuc- keep a similar neutralization activity and binding activity to huE6F6-wt in vitro. Immunological analyses suggested that huE6F6-fuc- exhibited enhanced binding to hCD32b and hCD16b, which mainly contributed to its enhanced therapeutic activity in vivo.Conclusions: In summary, the huE6F6-fuc- molecule that was developed in this study, which has desirable developability, can clear HBsAg more efficiently in vivo, providing a promising treatment for CHB patients. Our study provides new guidance for antibody engineering in other disease fields.

Abstract In traditional two‐dimensional space object detection, it is believed that ‘objects with similar shapes belong to the same type’, making it difficult to distinguish true and false targets. In order to improve the efficiency of real object localization and detection, a specific target localization and authenticity recognition method (STLAR) based on joint spatial and spectral information is proposed. Firstly, the ground imaging spectrometer is utilized to obtain hyperspectral image data of the area to be measured. Then use a spatial object detection model to frame specific targets. Finally, compare the similarity between specific targets detected in space and prior spectral information. The experimental results successfully completed the task of target localization and recognition of authenticity. The proposed method can simultaneously solve the problems of spectral dimension detection or spatial dimension detection, providing new ideas for future rapid localization and recognition of specific targets.

ABSTRACTWith the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the emergence of various SARS-CoV-2 variants, a comprehensive evaluation of long-term efficacy of antibody response in convalescent individuals is urgently needed. Several longitudinal studies had reported the antibody dynamics after SARS-CoV-2 acute infection, but the follow-up was mostly limited to 1 year or 18 months at the maximum. In this study, we investigated the durability, potency, and susceptibility to immune evasion of SARS-CoV-2-specific antibody in COVID-19 convalescents for 2 years after discharge. These results showed the persistent antibody-dependent immunity could protect against the WT and Delta variant to some extent. However, the Omicron variants (BA.1, BA.2, and BA.4/5) largely escaped this preexisting immunity in recovered individuals. Furthermore, we revealed that inactivated vaccines (BBIBP-CorV, CoronaVac, or KCONVAC) could improve the plasma neutralization and help to maintain the broadly neutralizing antibodies at a certain level. Notably, with the time-dependent decline of antibody, 1-dose or 2-dose vaccination strategy seemed not to be enough to provide immune protection against the emerging variants. Overall, these results facilitated our understanding of SARS-CoV-2-induced antibody memory, contributing to the development of immunization strategy against SARS-CoV-2 variants for such a large number of COVID-19 survivors.

Emission trading policies can provide environmental incentives for businesses, leading to a reduction in pollution emissions and promoting sustainable environmental development. Previous research indicated the significant impact of market-based environmental regulations on emission reduction by businesses, however, there is a lack of in-depth examination from the perspective of overall corporate management efficiency. In this study, we conducted research using the 2007 SO 2 emission trading pilot program as a quasi-natural experiment to investigate the mechanisms and effects of emission trading systems on corporate resource allocation efficiency. The study found that the implementation of emission trading systems significantly improves corporate resource allocation efficiency. Furthermore, through market regulation and administrative supervision mechanisms, corporate resource allocation efficiency can be further enhanced. However, emission trading systems have heterogeneous effects on resource allocation efficiency, with a stronger promotion effect on optimizing resource allocation in cases of greater financing constraints and higher levels of corporate governance. This study provides important policy insights for further promoting market-based environmental regulation reforms and improving corporate resource allocation efficiency.

Abstract Background Ossifying fibroma of the paranasal sinuses and skull base in paediatric patients is difficult to operate and can recur easily after surgery. This study aimed to analyse factors associated with recurrence after transnasal endoscopic resection of ossifying fibroma in paediatric patients. Methods This retrospective observational study included 34 patients under 17 years of age who underwent transnasal endoscopic resection of ossifying fibroma of the paranasal sinuses and skull base from 2005 to 2021 at a single tertiary medical centre. Clinical indicators such as age; surgical history; pathological type; intraoperative bleeding; and orbit, anterior skull base, sphenoid bone, sella turcica, clivus, or frontal sinus involvement were subjected to univariate analysis using the χ2 test, to investigate whether any of these factors affected recurrence. Results All 34 patients underwent transnasal endoscopic resection. The follow-up period was 6–120 months (mean: 48.0 months). Five patients experienced local recurrence during the follow-up period (14.7%). Results of χ2 tests indicated that a history of previous surgery, the amount of intraoperative bleeding, and sphenoid and/or sella turcica and clivus involvement were significantly associated with recurrence (P 0.05). Conclusions The increased risk of recurrence after transnasal endoscopic resection of nasal–skull base ossifying fibroma should be considered during endoscopic surgery in paediatric patients with a history of previous surgery, intraoperative bleeding tendency, and sphenoid and/or sella turcica and clivus involvement. These patients require careful postoperative follow-up.

In this paper, the evolution of the γ′ and η phases of new Ni–Co-based superalloy with different Nb contents was investigated using a combination of thermodynamic calculations and high-throughput selective laser melting (SLM). Thermodynamic calculations show that the increase of Nb content lowered the solubility temperature of the γ′ phase and caused the precipitation of the η phase. The alloys with the Nb gradient content prepared by SLM during aging at 800 °C for 100h indicated that the maximum volume fraction and size of the γ′ phase reach the maximum at 3.0–3.5% Nb. The elongated η phases enrichment in Ni, Ti, and Nb atoms precipitate for the Nb content higher than 2.2% Nb and prefer to grow longitudinally at the expense of the γ′ precipitates. Combining the influence of the Al/(Nb + Ta + Ti) ratio on the η precipitates, the addition of Nb content in the Ni–Co-based superalloys is less than 2.2%, which increases the high-temperature yield strength and tensile strength.

In a tritium-breeding blanket of a fusion reaction, helium, used as a tritium-purging gas, will purge the tritium breeder pebble beds to extract the tritium in blanket. The purge gas flow characteristics will affect the tritium extraction efficiency. The effect of the fixed wall on the pebble packing structures and purge gas flow characteristics was investigated by combining the discrete element method (DEM) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method. The results indicate that the fixed wall leads to a regular packing of the pebbles adjacent to the fixed wall in association with drastic fluctuations in the porosity of the pebble bed, which can affect the purge gas flow behaviors. Further analyses of helium flow behaviors show that the helium pressure in the pebble bed decreases in a linear manner along the flow direction, whereas the pressure drop gradient of helium increases gradually with an increase in the packing factor. The reduction in porosity in the pebble bed leads to a notable escalation in helium flow velocity. Concerning the direction perpendicular to the helium gas flow, the evolution of the cut-plane averaged velocity of helium is similar to that of the porosity, except in the region immediately adjacent to the wall. The pressure drop and flow characteristics obtained in this study can serve as input for the thermohydraulic analysis of the tritium blowing systems in the tritium-breeding blanket of a fusion reactor.

The flow characteristics of purge gas helium in the pebble bed of the tritium breeding blanket are important in analyzing the tritium purging process and optimizing the design of the solid breeder blanket. Therefore, the flow characteristics of helium gas in randomly packed pebble beds are investigated experimentally with a focus on the analysis of the pressure loss distribution. The results show that gas velocity, bed dimension, and pebble diameters have an obvious influence on the helium flow characteristics in pebble beds. With the increase in the inlet helium gas velocity, the pressure drop gradient of helium in the pebble bed gradually increased. With increases in the pebble bed dimension, the pressure drop gradient of helium in the pebble bed gradually increased. With the increase in the pebble diameter, the pressure drop gradient gradually decreased. In addition, the effect of temperature on the pressure drop of helium in the pebble bed was also preliminarily investigated. The pressure drop gradient of the helium through the pebble bed obviously increased with the increase in the helium and the bed temperature. The experimentally obtained pressure loss characteristics can be used for the validation of the simulation of a blanket pebble bed and as input parameters in the thermo-hydraulic analysis of solid-tritium breeder blankets.

Fully Ceramic Microencapsulated (FCM) fuel is emerging advanced fuel material for the future nuclear reactors. The fuel pellet in the FCM fuel is composed of matrix and a large number of TRistructural-ISOtopic (TRISO) fuel particles which are randomly dispersed in the SiC matrix. The minimum layer thickness in a TRISO fuel particle is on the order of 10−5 m, and the length of the FCM pellet is on the order of 10−2 m. Hence, the heat transfer in the FCM pellet is a multi-scale phenomenon. In this study, three multi-scale heat conduction models including the Multi-region Layered (ML) model, Multi-region Non-layered (MN) model and Homogeneous model for FCM pellet were constructed. In the ML model, the random distributed TRISO fuel particles and coating layers are completely built. While the TRISO fuel particles with coating layers are homogenized in the MN model and the whole fuel pellet is taken as the homogenous material in the Homogeneous model.Taking the results by the ML model as the benchmark, the abilities of the MN model and Homogenous model to predict the maximum and average temperature were discussed. It was found that the MN model and the Homogenous model greatly underestimate the temperature of TRISO fuel particles. The reason is mainly that the conventional equivalent thermal conductivity (ETC) models do not take the internal heat source into account and are not suitable for the TRISO fuel particle. Then the improved ETCs considering internal heat source were derived. With the improved ETCs, the MN model is able to capture the peak temperature as well as the average temperature at a wide range of the linear powers (165 W/cm∼ 415 W/cm) and the packing fractions (20%–50%). With the improved ETCs, the Homogenous model is better to predict the average temperature at different linear powers and packing fractions, and able to predict the peak temperature at high packing fractions (45%–50%).

Based on the slice theory and numerical calculation methods, the time varying meshing stiffness (TVMS) calculation method of the gear pair was constructed for the helical gear pair of a electric continuously variable transmission (ECVT), and the TVMS of the helical gear were calculated under different constant and time-varying torque in this study. The obtained stiffness values were introduced into the established dynamics model of helical gear system, and the influence of changed TVMS, resulting from the variable speed and torque, on the nonlinear dynamic characteristics of gear pair was analyzed using the Runge-Kutta method. The results show that the proposed TVMS calculation method is very effective in computing the TVMS of helical gear pair under time-varying condition. The TVMS and dynamic transmission error (DTE) increase as the torque increase, and vice versa. Meanwhile, the system exhibits a diverse range of periodic, sub-harmonic, and chaotic behaviors at high speed and at low speed when torque is low, whereas not appear at steady high torque under low speed range. This study offers a method for gaining the TVMS of helical gear pair to analyze the dynamic characteristics of gear pair under actual working condition, and the influence of torque that change with the speed ratio on the dynamic performance of a gear system should be considered in the industrial applications.

Abstract RNA aptamers provide useful biological probes and therapeutic agents. New methodologies to screen RNA aptamers will be valuable by complementing the traditional Systematic Evolution of Ligands by Exponential Enrichment (SELEX). Meanwhile, repurposing clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/CRISPR associated systems (Cas) has expanded their utility far beyond their native nuclease function. Here, CRISmers, a CRISPR/Cas‐based novel screening system for RNA aptamers based on binding to a chosen protein of interest in a cellular context, is presented. Using CRISmers, aptamers are identified specifically targeting the receptor binding domain (RBD) of the spike glycoprotein of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2). Two aptamer leads enable sensitive detection and potent neutralization of SARS‐CoV‐2 Delta and Omicron variants in vitro. Intranasal administration of one aptamer, further modified with 2’‐fluoro pyrimidines (2’‐F), 2’‐O‐methyl purines (2’‐O), and conjugation with both cholesterol and polyethylene glycol of 40 kDa (PEG40K), achieves effective prophylactic and therapeutic antiviral activity against live Omicron BA.2 variants in vivo. The study concludes by demonstrating the robustness, consistency, and potential broad utility of CRISmers using two newly identified aptamers but switching CRISPR, selection marker, and host species.

The imaging spectrometer is limited by a short response time and narrow channel, resulting in a low signal-to-noise ratio of hyperspectral images. The accurate estimation of noise has a significant impact on some preprocessing and downstream tasks. The existing noise estimation methods for hyperspectral images are all focused on satellite and aviation data, and there is little research on hyperspectral images with high spatial resolution. For this type of image, This article proposes a noise estimation method based on a stacked autoencoder. Firstly, the image is divided into multiple uniform regions using the K-means algorithm, and then a stacked automatic encoder is set for each uniform region. Reconstruct the spectral signal on each pixel through the corresponding stacked automatic encoder. Calculate the residual between the reconstructed image and the original image to achieve signal-to-noise separation. Finally, the image is divided into a large number of subblocks, and the subblocks containing edges are removed. The remaining subblocks are used for noise estimation in this band. The applicability of some classic noise estimation methods was experimentally tested, and the effectiveness and stability of the proposed method were verified through simulation and real data experiments.

Due to the limitations of spatial resolution and detector level, traditional hyperspectral image (HSI) target detection focuses more on spectral analysis, and spatial morphology information is not fully utilized in HSI target detection. The constrained energy minimization (CEM) method is a classic HSI target detection algorithm that can highlight the information of the target, suppress background information, and achieve the effect of separating the target from the image. However, the CEM method is a supervised algorithm that requires obtaining spectral information of the target in advance. Due to various factors, such as material composition, object shape, and imaging conditions, the spectral reflectance of targets usually exhibits strong uncertainty, which is the main reason why the detection performance of traditional target detection algorithms is not ideal. To address the above issues, an improved CEM target detection algorithm for HSIs based on subregion analysis (SRA–CEM) was proposed. The SRA–CEM method first obtains the subregion where the target is located based on its external features and then uses background detection to infer the specific location of the target. SRA–CEM uses prior background spectral reflectance to replace the spectral reflectance of unknown and variable targets and can avoid the impact of the target signal as a background signal in the traditional CEM algorithm on the detection results. Experiments were conducted using publicly available and self-test hyperspectral data, respectively. The results showed that compared to other target detection algorithms, the SRA—CEM method could effectively improve the accuracy of hyperspectral target detection. Especially in HSIs under land-based imaging conditions, the area under the curve value of the SRA–CEM method has increased by about 0.11.

As an emerging information technology, big data has been widely used in all aspects of life. As for the application of big data technology in dietary nutrition and health, it revolves mainly around the combination of nutrition, medicine and other relevant disciplines, during which big data technology is adopted to mine and analyze data for the provision of personalized information services tailored to personal physiological indicators. With the core collection of Web of Science and CNKI Chinese database as data sources, and VOSviewer is applied in this paper to analyze the annual volume of publication and the keywords of relevant literature on big data as well as dietary nutrition and health published over the past 10 years. Then, the application of big data technology in the field of dietary nutrition and health and the challenges arising from this field are summarized and analyzed. Finally, the future trend of big data research in the field of dietary nutrition and health is indicated, which would provide guidance for the in-depth research and application of big data technology in this field.

As an important water source and ecological barrier in the Yellow River Basin, the source region of the Yellow River (above the Huangheyan Hydrologic Station) presents a remarkable permafrost degradation trend due to climate change. Therefore, scientific understanding the effects of permafrost degradation on runoff variations is of great significance for the water resource and ecological protection in the Yellow River Basin. In this paper, we studied the mechanism and extent of the effect of degrading permafrost on surface flow in the source region of the Yellow River based on the monitoring data of temperature and moisture content of permafrost in 2013–2019 and the runoff data in 1960–2019. The following results have been found. From 2013 to 2019, the geotemperature of the monitoring sections at depths of 0–2.4 m increased by 0.16°C/a on average. With an increase in the thawing depth of the permafrost, the underground water storage space also increased, and the depth of water level above the frozen layer at the monitoring points decreased from above 1.2 m to 1.2–2 m. 64.7% of the average multiyear groundwater was recharged by runoff, in which meltwater from the permafrost accounted for 10.3%. Compared to 1960-1965, the runoff depth in the surface thawing period (from May to October) and the freezing period (from November to April) decreased by 1.5 mm and 1.2 mm, respectively during 1992–1997, accounting for 4.2% and 3.4% of the average annual runoff depth, respectively. Most specifically, the decrease in the runoff depth was primarily reflected in the decreased runoff from August to December. The permafrost degradation affects the runoff within a year by changing the runoff generation, concentration characteristics and the melt water quantity from permafrost, decreasing the runoff at the later stage of the permafrost thawing. However, the permafrost degradation has limited impacts on annual runoff and does not dominate the runoff changes in the source region of the Yellow River in the longterm.

The Covid-19 has presented an unprecedented challenge to public health worldwide. However, residents in different countries showed diverse levels of Covid-19 awareness during the outbreak and suffered from uneven health impacts. This study analyzed the global Twitter data from January 1st to June 30th, 2020, to answer two research questions. What are the linguistic and geographical disparities of public awareness in the Covid-19 outbreak period reflected on social media? Does significant association exist between the changing Covid-19 awareness and the pandemic outbreak? We established a Twitter data mining framework calculating the Ratio index to quantify and track awareness. The lag correlations between awareness and health impacts were examined at global and country levels. Results show that users presenting the highest Covid-19 awareness were mainly those tweeting in the official languages of India and Bangladesh. Asian countries showed more disparities in awareness than European countries, and awareness in Eastern Europe was higher than in central Europe. Finally, the Ratio index had high correlations with global mortality rate, global case fatality ratio, and country-level mortality rate, with 21-31, 35-42, and 13–18 leading days, respectively. This study yields timely insights into social media use in understanding human behaviors for public health research.

In order to investigate the absorption and retention characteristics of condensed water at different soil layers in the bare desertification area at the bottom of a receding lake in Hoh Xil, Qinghai Province, the characteristics of condensate variation, condensate formation time, condensate volume, and its absorption capacity were investigated in July 2021 using a micro-osmometer. The research area was the artificial water retention layer and bare ground of the exposed sandy bottom formed under the influence of the warming–wetting trend that occurs when water recedes in the salt lake area of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, as well as the two conditions of underpass and underseal. According to the results, the time of condensation generation during the observation period in the salt lake area of Hoh Xil begins at about 0:00 and ends at about 10:00. The artificial water retention layer had little influence on the condensation generation time, and the trend of the condensation rate is the same. The unidirectional condensation phenomenon of water vapor in the near-surface air at a depth range of 0–5 cm when an artificial water retention layer is applied is clearly superior to that of other layers; accordingly, its frequency of condensation phenomenon is also the highest. The amount of condensed soil water vapor from the lower part of the ground when an artificial water retention layer is applied at depth ranges of 0–5 cm, 5–10 cm, and 0–10 cm were 3.60, 6.39, and 10.27 times that of the near-surface air, respectively. The total amount of bidirectional condensed water under the condition of the artificial water retention layer at 0–10 cm was the largest. Conversely, the total amount of condensed water from the near-surface air at a depth range of 0–5 cm under the unidirectional condensation condition was the highest, being twice as great as the total amount of condensed water in other layers, which demonstrates the promoting effect that the artificial water retention layer has on the adsorption of water vapor in the near-surface air. Due to the existence of permafrost in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the heat zero-flux plane in the area of the Salt Lake has a migration range of divergence of approximately 30 cm from the surface to the ground. An analogous humidity coefficient characterizes the retention effect of condensed water in certain areas, which serve to demonstrate how the artificial water retention layer distributed at a depth of 0–5 cm, regardless of bidirectional or unidirectional condensation, has the best capacity for adsorption. The results of this study provide a theoretical basis for condensate absorption capacity and vegetation restoration in the bare ecologically degraded areas of the lake bottom. Glycolytic metabolism enzymes have been implicated in the immunometabolism field through changes in metabolic status. PGK1 is a catalytic enzyme in the glycolytic pathway. Here, we set up a high-throughput screen platform to identify PGK1 inhibitors. DC-PGKI is an ATP-competitive inhibitor of PGK1 with an affinity of Kd = 99.08 nmol/L. DC-PGKI stabilizes PGK1 in vitro and in vivo, and suppresses both glycolytic activity and the kinase function of PGK1. In addition, DC-PGKI unveils that PGK1 regulates production of IL-1β and IL-6 in LPS-stimulated macrophages. Mechanistically, inhibition of PGK1 with DC-PGKI results in NRF2 (nuclear factor-erythroid factor 2-related factor 2, NFE2L2) accumulation, then NRF2 translocates to the nucleus and binds to the proximity region of Il-1β and Il-6 genes, and inhibits LPS-induced expression of these genes. DC-PGKI ameliorates colitis in the dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis mouse model. These data support PGK1 as a regulator of macrophages and suggest potential utility of PGK1 inhibitors in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease.

The one-third octave band (1/3-octave-band) is the most important output item in noise spectrum analysis, which can reflect the frequency characteristics of the noise. At present, the most used 1/3-octave-band algorithms in engineering are the digital bandpass filter bank method and the fast Fourier transform (FFT) analysis method. To compare and evaluate the applicability of these two typical algorithms in power grid environmental noise dominated by low-frequency noise, this paper conducts detailed simulation test research from relative attenuation test, performance test, and prototype test at the AC UHV base of China Electric Power Research Institute. It is found that the FFT analysis method has advantages in suppressing spectrum leakage, thereby ensuring the accuracy of spectrum analysis, but the relative attenuation value of the spectrum at low frequency (31.5 Hz) and high frequency (5000 Hz) cannot meet IEC 61260-1-2014 required class 1 requirements, and when analyzing the noise emitted by the UHV base, the analysis results of some bands have a large deviation compared with BK connect software, and the maximum is -6.09 dB. In contrast, no matter whether the center frequency is low or high, the relative attenuation of the spectrum of the digital bandpass filter bank method can always meet the provisions of IEC, and when analyzing the noise emitted by the UHV base, the analysis result is consistent with the BK connect software as well, indicating that the digital bandpass filter bank method has better applicability when applied to the low-frequency noise scenes.
