Abstract

The notion of quasi $f$-ideals was first presented in $[14]$ which generalize the idea of $f$-ideals. In this paper, we give the complete characterization of quasi $f$-ideals of degree greater or equal to $2$. Additionally, we show that the property of being quasi $f$-ideals remains the same after taking the Newton complementary dual of a squarefree monomial ideal $I$ provided that the minimal generating set of $I$ is perfect.

Abstract

The notion of f -ideal was introduced in [G. Q. Abbasi, S. Ahmad, I. Anwar and W. A. Baig, f -Ideals of degree 2, Algebra Colloq.19(1) (2012) 921–926] in 2012 and has been studied in many papers after that. In this paper, we have studied those graphs whose Stanley–Reisner ideals turn out to be f -ideals. We give a characterization and construction of these graphs and show that, unlike f -graphs, these graphs are always connected. We have also discussed when these graphs are complete bipartite graphs. Moreover, we classify those graphs for which both the facet ideal (the edge ideal) and the Stanley–Resiner ideal, are f -ideals. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

8. Determination of the Genetic and Synergistic Suppression of a Methoxyfenozide-Resistant Strain of the House Fly Musca domesticaL. (Diptera: Muscidae)

Abstract

Musca domesticaLinnaeus (house fly, Diptera: Muscidae) is a major veterinary and medical important pest all over the world. These flies have ability to develop resistance to insecticides. The present trial was performed to discover the inheritance mode (autosomal, dominance, number of genes involved) and preliminary mechanism of methoxyfenozide resistance in order to provide basic information necessary to develop resistance management strategy for this pest. A strain of M. domestica(MXY-SEL) was exposed to methoxyfenozide for 44 generations which developed a 5253.90-fold level of resistance to methoxyfenozide. The overlapping fiducial limits of LC50values of the reciprocal crosses, F1(MXY-SEL ♂ × Susceptible ♀) and F1†(MXY-SEL ♀ × Susceptible ♂), suggest that inheritance of methoxyfenozide resistance was an autosomal and likely completely dominant trait (DLC= 0.93 and 0.94 for F1and F1†, respectively). Backcrosses of the F1with the parental MXY-SEL or Susceptible population predict a polygenic mode of inheritance. Piperonyl butoxide significantly altered the LC50values, suggesting enhanced detoxification by cytochrome P450-dependent monooxygenases is a major mechanism of resistance to methoxyfenozide in the MXY-SEL strain.The estimated realized heritability was 0.07 for methoxyfenozide. These results would be helpful for the better management of M. domestica.

Abstract

In this paper, we introduce the concept of -simplicial complexes by generalizing the term of -graphs (introduced in [H. Mahmood, I. Anwar and M. K. Zafar, Construction of Cohen-Macaualy -graphs, J. Algebra Appl. 13(6) (2014) 1450012]). In particular, we discuss the problem of connectedness of pure -simplicial complexes.
