Objective: We performed a population-based analysis focusing on primary extranodal lymphoma of either testis, kidney, bladder or prostate (PGUL). Methods: We identified all cases of localized testis, renal, bladder and prostate primary lymphomas (PL) versus primary testis, kidney, bladder and prostate cancers within the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database (1998–2015). Estimated annual proportion change methodology (EAPC), multivariable logistic regression models, cumulative incidence plots and multivariable competing risks regression models were used. Results: The rates of testis-PL, renal-PL, bladder-PL and prostate-PL were 3.04%, 0.22%, 0.18% and 0.01%, respectively. Patients with PGUL were older and more frequently Caucasian. Annual rates significantly decreased for renal-PL (EAPC: −5.6%; p=0.004) and prostate-PL (EAPC: −3.6%; p=0.03). We report a rare case of primary non-Hodgkin’s B-cell lymphoma of the mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) type occurring in the urinary bladder. A 70-year-old woman presented with gross haematuria, and an abdominal CT scan revealed a bladder tumour which was resected endoscopically. Histopathological diagnosis was confirmed by immunohistochemical staining and treated successfully with radiotherapy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Primary malignant lymphoma of bladder is one of the rarest extranodal site for lymphomas. Less than 100 cases have been reported so far . A history of chronic cystitis has been shown to be a preceding feature in many cases (40%) of primary bladder lymphoma . Most of the cases reported in the literature have a low-grade lymphoma including the subtypes of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue . The diffuse large cell lymphoma is the most frequent type among the subtypes of high-grade bladder lymphomas . In this report, a case with high-grade primary malignant lymphoma of bladder is reported and the clinical, pathological aspects of diseases are reviewed. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

In surgically treated patients, cumulative incidence plots showed significantly higher 10-year cancer-specific mortality (CSM) rates for testis-PL, renal-PL and prostate-PL versus their primary genitourinary tumors. In multivariable competing risks regression models, only testis-PL (hazard ratio [HR]: 16.7; p <0.001) and renal-PL (HR: 2.52; p <0.001) independently predicted higher CSM rates., Conclusion: PGUL rates are extremely low and on the decrease in kidney and prostate but stable in testis and bladder. Background: Primary urinary tract lymphoma (PUTL) is an uncommon disease with only a few case reports in the literature., Materials and Methods: Information about 1,264 patients diagnosed between 1983 and 2013 with PUTL was extracted from the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results database. Kaplan-Meier curves and multivariable regression analysis were used to analyze the survival and identify prognostic factors. A comparison of nodal diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) with PUTL DLBCL was performed. In addition, we compared the characteristics of kidney and bladder lymphoma., Results: PUTL incidence was 1 case/1,000,000 people per year. DLBCL was found to be the predominant histology. Five-year overall survival and cancer-specific survival were 49% and 58%, respectively. DLBCL histology, male gender, stage III-IV disease, and advanced age were found to be poor prognostic factors. Surgery may be beneficial. Urinary tract DLBCL has a worse prognosis than nodal DLBCL., Conclusion: To our knowledge, this is the largest population-based study of PUTL in the literature.
