To conserve biodiversity, the Botanical Garden of Villa Clara (VCBG) promotes meaningful experiences and pleasure across an interpretative trail that culminates in an endemic area wich represents the xeromorphic scrubland on serpentines, an important Cuban ecosystem. Moreover, endangered specimens of native and endemic species are planted inside and outside the VCBG by members of different communities and target groups combining participatory techniques with ex situ conservation procedures. Thus enjoyment, pride, science and social responsibility allows them to have endangered plants, and even some fauna, in their daily lifes. For us, educators, that´s the key element to preserve our biodiversity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
