Failure behavior of epoxy coating/low alloy steel systems applied with cathodic polarization at 0.1 MPa and 15 MPa was investigated based on a deep−sea environment simulation test device. The results showed that the diffusion of water into the coating was significantly accelerated by the high hydrostatic pressure under the same polarization potential, and the time of water uptake of the coating that reached saturation was shortened; the coating's physical structure was significantly affected by the high hydrostatic pressure; the generation of highly conductive Fe3O4 was promoted in the corrosion products, which accelerated the metal corrosion process. Under the same hydrostatic pressure, with the negative shift of the polarization potential, the coating protective performance was significantly reduced and metal corrosion was mitigated to a certain extent; the water transport behavior showed a tendency to shorten the time of water uptake of the coating that reached saturation and lengthen the duration of the saturation state, which may be related to a more severe degree of cathodic delamination and the increase of water consumption for cathodic reactions under the coating. In addition, the increase of the weakly conductive α−Fe2O3 content in the corrosion products may cause a reduction in the cathodic protection current at the same polarization potential, resulting in the reduction of the protection effect on the metal.

In this study, nano Ti/AZ31 composites were successfully prepared by powder metallurgy method, and the strength and plasticity of the composites were improved in both directions. The SEM shows that the Ti particles were evenly distributed at the grain boundary in the sintered composite, and the Ti particles pin the grain boundary to make the grain of the composite significantly refined. EBSD shows that the addition of nano Ti particles significantly reduces the texture strength of the composite and increases the starting probability of the slip system. TEM shows that nano Ti and AZ31 matrix formed stable Al3Ti and MgO phases at the interface, and shows a strong coherent relationship. The nanoindentation test shows that the Ti/AZ31 interface of the composite was stable, the interface bonding energy and interface fracture toughness were gradiently distributed, and the bonding energy and fracture toughness of the interface bonding area were better than those of the matrix. Tensile test shows that the 1.5 wt%Ti/AZ31 composite obtained the best comprehensive mechanical properties with yield strength, ultimate tensile strength and elongation of 143 MPa, 243 MPa and 11.5%, respectively, obviously higher than those of AZ31 alloys. The increased strength was mainly due to the grain refinement and strengthening at grain boundaries. The improved ductility was the result of weakened texture, increase of slip system start-up probability and strong interfacial bonding between Ti particles and AZ31 matrix.

This paper focuses on daily freight train scheduling and dynamic railcar routing problems for rail freight transportation at the operational level. Two mixed integer linear programming models that adopted different strategies were formulated based on a continuous two-layer time-space network. We simultaneously considered the benefits of railroad company and service quality when setting the objective function. By solving the models, we can distribute the dynamic railcar flows to the train paths in the basic train timetable to obtain the daily train operation plan over a short time horizon (e.g. a day), which will be helpful for dispatchers to make decisions such as the empty railcar distribution and car routing (trip planning). Finally, we compared two models on a part of the Chinese railroad network. The results show that the second model can effectively improve the efficiency of railroad freight transportation.

Summary: RNA methylation has emerged as a dynamic regulatory mechanism that impacts gene expression and protein synthesis. Among the known RNA methylation modifications, N6-methyladenosine (m6A), 5-methylcytosine (m5C), 3-methylcytosine (m3C), and N7-methylguanosine (m7G) have been studied extensively. In particular, m6A is the most abundant RNA modification and has attracted significant attention due to its potential effect on multiple biological processes. Recent studies have demonstrated that RNA methylation plays an important role in the development and progression of cardiovascular disease (CVD). To identify key pathogenic genes of CVD and potential therapeutic targets, we reviewed several common RNA methylation and summarized the research progress of RNA methylation in diverse CVDs, intending to inspire effective treatment strategies.

Transfer RNA-derived small RNAs (tsRNAs) are a class of small non-coding RNA (sncRNA) molecules derived from tRNA, including tRNA derived fragments (tRFs) and tRNA halfs (tiRNAs). tsRNAs can affect cell functions by participating in gene expression regulation, translation regulation, intercellular signal transduction, and immune response. They have been shown to play an important role in various human diseases, including cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). Targeted regulation of tsRNAs expression can affect the progression of CVDs. The tsRNAs induced by pathological conditions can be detected when released into the extracellular, giving them enormous potential as disease biomarkers. Here, we review the biogenesis, degradation process and related functional mechanisms of tsRNAs, and discuss the research progress and application prospects of tsRNAs in different CVDs, to provide a new perspective on the treatment of CVDs.

The sedimentary system of the delta front is complex. The hydrodynamic conditions, changes in sediment supply, and mineral composition are crucial factors that influence the quality of reservoirs. Reservoir quality varies among different sedimentary units. In this field of research, there is a general tendency to mainly use core data and logging curves for reservoir characterization and prediction, while neglecting the combination with the microscopic scale of the reservoir. This article proposes a new method to characterize reservoir heterogeneity by studying the sedimentary characteristics of reservoirs. This method uses casting thin-section data to aid in core and logging research. This study consists of five parts: core analysis, casting thin-section study, logging facies study, geological analysis, and single-well prediction. Combining macroscopic and microscopic methods helps clarify the controlling effect of sedimentary characteristics on reservoir heterogeneity. The research results indicate that this research method effectively solves the challenge of characterizing reservoir heterogeneity in the middle and later stages of development of low-permeability reservoirs. The research outputs serve as valuable references for the advancement of analytical matching fields.

It has been well documented that n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 PUFA) can alleviate inflammation caused by Escherichia coli (E. coli) lipopolysaccharides (LPS), the etiologic agents that causing yellow or white dysentery in young pigs. However, it remains unclear whether the increase in n-3 PUFA availability could enhance the ability of nursery pigs to resist invasion by E. coli. LPS. Twenty-four 21-day-old female piglets, each two of them from the same sow fed the beef tallow (BT) or fish oil (FO) diets, were allocated into four treatment groups: BT-CON, piglets from the BT-fed sows and intraperitoneally injected with saline (9 g/L); BT-LPS, piglets from the BT-fed sows and injected with LPS (100 μg/kg body weight); FO-CON, piglets from the FO-fed sows and injected with saline; FO-LPS, piglets from the FO-fed sows and injected with LPS. Following 2 h of LPS challenge, the magnitudes of increase in body temperature approached to a marked (p < 0.01) difference between the BT-CON and BT-LPS piglets, whereas the dramatic (p < 0.01) difference between the FO-CON and FO-LPS piglets was only observed at 4 h post LPS challenge. The body temperature averaged across the time points evaluated was about 0.2°C lower (p < 0.05) in the FO group than in the BT group. Abstract Background Ischemia–reperfusion injury to the central nervous system often causes severe complications. The activation of endogenous neural stem cells (NSCs) is considered a promising therapeutic strategy for nerve repair. However, the specific biological processes and molecular mechanisms of NSC activation remain unclear, and the role of N6-methyladenosine (m6A) methylation modification in this process has not been explored. Methods NSCs were subjected to hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R) to simulate ischemia–reperfusion in vivo. m6A RNA methylation quantitative kit was used to measure the total RNA m6A methylation level. Quantitative real-time PCR was used to detect methyltransferase and demethylase mRNA expression levels. Methylated RNA immunoprecipitation sequencing (MeRIP-seq) and RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) were conducted for NSCs in control and H/R groups, and the sequencing results were analyzed using bioinformatics. Finally, the migration ability of NSCs was identified by wound healing assays, and the proliferative capacity of NSCs was assessed using the cell counting kit-8, EdU assays and cell spheroidization assays. Results Overall of m6A modification level and Mettl14 mRNA expression increased in NSCs after H/R treatment. The m6A methylation and expression profiles of mRNAs in NSCs after H/R are described for the first time. Through the joint analysis of MeRIP-seq and RNA-seq results, we verified the proliferation of NSCs after H/R, which was regulated by m6A methylation modification. Seven hub genes were identified to play key roles in the regulatory process. Knockdown of Mettl14 significantly inhibited the proliferation of NSCs. In addition, separate analysis of the MeRIP-seq results suggested that m6A methylation regulates cell migration and differentiation in ways other than affecting mRNA expression. Subsequent experiments confirmed the migration ability of NSCs was suppressed by knockdown of Mettl14. Conclusion The biological behaviors of NSCs after H/R are closely related to m6A methylation of mRNAs, and Mettl14 was confirmed to be involved in cell proliferation and migration.

Abstract Background Muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) is a highly aggressive disease with a poor prognosis. B cells are crucial factors in tumor suppression, and tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs) facilitate immune cell recruitment to the tumor microenvironment (TME). However, the function and mechanisms of tumor-infiltrating B cells and TLSs in MIBC need to be explored further. Methods We performed single-cell RNA sequencing analysis of 11,612 B cells and 55,392 T cells from 12 bladder cancer patients and found naïve B cells, proliferating B cells, plasma cells, interferon-stimulated B cells and germinal center-associated B cells, and described the phenotype, gene enrichment, cell–cell communication, biological processes. We utilized immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence (IF) to describe TLSs morphology in MIBC. Results The interferon-stimulated B-cell subtype (B-ISG15) and germinal center-associated B-cell subtypes (B-LMO2, B-STMN1) were significantly enriched in MIBC. TLSs in MIBC exhibited a distinct follicular structure characterized by a central region of B cells resembling a germinal center surrounded by T cells. CellChat analysis showed that CXCL13 + T cells play a pivotal role in recruiting CXCR5 + B cells. Cell migration experiments demonstrated the chemoattraction of CXCL13 toward CXCR5 + B cells. Importantly, the infiltration of the interferon-stimulated B-cell subtype and the presence of TLSs correlated with a more favorable prognosis in MIBC. Conclusions The study revealed the heterogeneity of B-cell subtypes in MIBC and suggests a pivotal role of TLSs in MIBC outcomes. Our study provides novel insights that contribute to the precision treatment of MIBC.

Da Chuanxiong Formula (DCXF) is a traditional herbal prescription used for pain management. It consists of Chuanxiong Rhizoma (CR) and Gastrodiae Rhizoma (GR). Despite its long history of use, the underlying therapeutic mechanism of DCXF remains insufficiently understood. Therefore, in this study, key target genes were obtained through network pharmacology research methods and molecular docking techniques, including transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1), adenosine A2a receptor (ADORA2A), nuclear receptor subfamily 3 group C member 1 (NR3C1), and protein kinase C beta (PRKCB). Molecular dynamics simulations demonstrated the favorable binding between all four key genes and their corresponding compounds. Notably, chronic constriction injury (CCI) treatment resulted in a significant decrease in mechanical threshold and thermal latency period for rat foot contraction, which was ameliorated upon administration of DCXF. Furthermore, real-time quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) and western blot (WB) analyses indicated an upregulation of TRPV1, ADORA2A, NR3C1, and PRKCB expression in the rat dorsal root ganglion following CCI, which was attenuated by treatment with DCXF. The expressions of inflammatory factors, including tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin 1 beta (IL-1β), and interleukin 6 (IL-6), in the rat dorsal root ganglion were assessed using ELISA, confirming consistent trends with the aforementioned findings. The results of this study offer a promising theoretical foundation for the utilization of DCXF in the treatment of neuropathic pain (NP).

In vitro detection of small molecules in the human circulatory system contributes a lot to prompt personalized healthcare and early disease diagnose. The precise detection requires to select target molecules for real‐time noninvasive identifications, which remains a challenge derived from the lack of both molecule‐sieving techniques and rapid detection tools. Herein, positively charged polymer chains into graphene oxide membranes are seeded to tune their interlayer spacing precisely and persistently within a range of 8.67–13.75 Å. The adaptive yet stable nanocapillaries allow membranes to sieve small molecules with fitted sizes, for example, salts and biomarkers. The molecule‐sieving membranes with organic electrochemical transistors, further achieving an in vitro detection of lactate and uric acid with a high accuracy, are coupled. Based on this finding, a wearable sweat lactate rapid test kit, which detects sweat lactate secreted from human body within a few minutes, is demonstrated.

ObjectiveEvidence regarding the effects of particulate matter (PM) pollutants on cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality remains limited in Shanghai, China. Our objective was to thoroughly evaluate associations between PM pollutants and CVD mortality.MethodsDaily data on CVD mortality, PM (PM10 and PM2.5) pollutants, and meteorological variables in Shanghai, China were gathered from 2003 to 2020. We utilized a time-series design with the generalized additive model to assess associations between PM pollutants and CVD mortality. Additionally, we conducted stratified analyses based on sex, age, education, and seasons using the same model.ResultsWe found that PM pollutants had a significant association with CVD mortality during the study period. Specifically, there was a 0.29% (95%CI: 0.14, 0.44) increase in CVD mortality for every 10 μg/m3 rise in a 2-day average (lag01) concentration of PM10. A 0.28% (95% CI: 0.07, 0.49) increase in CVD mortality was associated with every 10 μg/m3 rise in PM2.5 concentration at lag01. Overall, the estimated effects of PM10 and PM2.5 were larger in the warm period compared with the cold period. Furthermore, males and the older adult exhibited greater susceptibility to PM10 and PM2.5 exposure, and individuals with lower education levels experienced more significant effects from PM10 and PM2.5 than those with higher education levels.ConclusionOur findings suggested that PM pollutants have a substantial impact on increasing CVD mortality in Shanghai, China. Moreover, the impacts of air pollution on health may be altered by factors such as season, sex, age, and educational levels.

ObjectiveTo analyze the influencing factors of stunting among 3 to 4-year-old children in Changning District， Shanghai， in order to provide a scientific basis for early prevention and intervention for stunting.MethodsRandom cluster sampling was employed to select 1 514 children from 16 kindergartens in Changning District， Shanghai as the survey subjects. Basic information such as height， weight， perinatal and infant feeding status， diet and lifestyle， as well as parental information was collected. The detection rate of stunting was calculated， and the influencing factors of stunted growth were analyzed.ResultsThe stunting detection rate of the 1 514 children was 5.4%. Abstract Rhododendron pulchrum sweet, a member of the Ericaceae family possessing valuable horticultural properties, is widely distributed in the temperate regions. Though serving as bioindicator of metal pollution, the molecular mechanism regulating flowering in R. pulchrum is very limited. Illumina sequencing was performed to identify critical miRNAs in the synthesis of flavonoids at different developmental stages. Totally, 722 miRNAs belonging to 104 families were screened, and 84 novel mature miRNA sequences were predicted. The miR166, miR156, and miR167-1 families were dominant. In particular, 126 miRNAs were significantly differentially expressed among four different flowering stages. Totally, 593 genes were differentially regulated by miRNAs during the flower development process, which were mostly involved in “metabolic pathways”, “plant hormone signal transduction”, and “mitosis and regulation of biosynthetic processes”. In pigment biosynthesis and signal transduction processes, gra-miR750 significantly regulated the expression of flavonoid 3’,5’-hydroxylase; aof-miR171a, aof-miR171b, aof-miR171c, cas-miR171a-3p, and cas-miR171c-3p could regulate the expression of DELLA protein; aof-miR390, aof-miR396b, ath-miR3932b-5p, cas-miR171a-3p, aof-miR171a, and aof-miR171b regulated BAK1 expression. This research showed great potentials for genetic improvement of flower color traits for R. pulchrum and other Rhododendron species.

Since the initial discovery of metamaterial absorbers (MAs), they generate significant interest across the electromagnetic device industry due to their capacity to attain subwavelength magnitudes, adaptable design, and almost complete absorption. In recent years, there has been a growing focus on incorporating active materials into MAs, making it a current focal point of investigation. In the past few years, MAs have seen the integration of various active materials and configurations thanks to continuous exploration and innovation. Herein, comprehensive and systematic research on different tuning methods of MAs is reviewed, highlighting innovative materials and unique designs to accurately control the electromagnetic absorption characteristics of MAs. Key parameters, such as the operating frequency and relative tuning range, are summarized and compared to provide guidance for optimization design. Finally, the challenges of tunable MAs and their future prospects are also summarized.

Bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA) is a common malignant tumor of the human urinary system, and a large proportion of BLCA patients have a poor prognosis. Therefore, there is an urgent need to find more efficient and sensitive biomarkers for the prognosis of BLCA patients in clinical practice. RNA sequencing (RNA‐seq) data and clinical information were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas, and 584 energy metabolism‐related genes (EMRGs) were obtained from the Reactome pathway database. Cox regression analysis and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator analysis were applied to assess prognostic genes and build a risk score model. The estimate and cibersort algorithms were used to explore the immune microenvironment, immune infiltration, and checkpoints in BLCA patients. Furthermore, we used the Human Protein Atlas database and our single‐cell RNA‐seq datasets of BLCA patients to verify the expression of 13 EMRGs at the protein and single‐cell levels. We constructed a risk score model; the area under the curve of the model at 5 years was 0.792. The risk score was significantly correlated with the immune markers M0 macrophages, M2 macrophages, CD8 T cells, follicular helper T cells, regulatory T cells, and dendritic activating cells. Furthermore, eight immune checkpoint genes were significantly upregulated in the high‐risk group. The risk score model can accurately predict the prognosis of BLCA patients and has clinical application value. In addition, according to the differences in immune infiltration and checkpoints, BLCA patients with the most significant benefit can be selected for immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy.

Central nervous system (CNS) diseases are the leading cause of death worldwide. By performing compensatory functions and improving the inflammatory microenvironment, the transplantation of neural stem cells (NSCs) can promote functional recovery from brain injury, aging, brain tumours, and other diseases. However, the ability of NSCs to differentiate into neurons is limited, and they are associated with a risk of tumourigenicity. NSC-derived extracellular vesicles (NSC-EVs) can modulate the local microenvironment of the nervous system as well as distant neuronal functions. Thus, cell-free therapy may be a novel remedy for CNS disorders. This article reviews the characteristics, contents, and mechanisms of action of NSC-EVs as well as their roles and application prospects in various CNS diseases.

Because the ohmic loss of metal materials affects the transmission efficiency of metasurface, we design a transmission-type all-dielectric coded metasurface element structure based on the principle of Pancharatnam-Berry geometric phase. We digitally encode these cell structures to construct a coded metasurface. In order to flexibly regulate the transmission angle of vortex beam encoded metassurface, we introduce the Fourier convolution principle in digital signal processing to perform the Fourier convolution addition operation for two different coding sequences. A new coding sequence is constructed by Fourier convolution operation of digital coding unit. Through this operation, the number of elements on the coded metasurface is constant, and the scattering angle of the vortex beam is flexibly controlled. In order to realize the multifunctional integration of phase vortex beams, we introduce the principle of digital coding addition in the complex domain to add two digitally coded metasurface sequences with different functions to realize the multifunctional superposition.

Abstract Background Plums are one of the most important economic crops of the Rosaceae family and are produced all over the world. China has many local varieties, but the genomic information is limited for genetic studies. Here, we first sequenced, assembled, and analyzed the plastomes of twelve plum cultivars and developed molecular markers to distinguish them. Results The twelve plastomes of plum cultivars have a circular structure of 157,863–157,952 bp containing a large single-copy region (LSC) of 86,109–86,287 bp, a small copy region (SSC) of 18,927–19,031 bp, and two inverted repeats (IR) of 26,353–26,387 bp each. The plastomes of plum cultivars encode 131 genes, including 86 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA genes, and 8 rRNA genes. We detected 50, 54, 54, 53, 53, 50, 54, 54, 54, 49, 50, 54 SSRs in the twelve analyzed varieties, respectively. For repeat sequences, we identified 553 tandem repeats, 204 direct repeats, and 270 palindromic repeats. We also analyzed the expansion/contraction of IR regions. The genes rpl22, rps19, rpl2, ycf1, ndhF, and the trnH span on or near the boundary of IR and single-copy regions. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the twelve cultivars were clustered with the P. salicina and P. domestica. We developed eight markers LZ01 to LZ08 based on whole plastomes and nuclear genes and validated them successfully with six repetitions. Conclusions The results obtained here could fill in the blanks of the plastomes of these twelve plum cultivars and provide a wider perspective based on the basis of the plastomes of Prunus to the molecular identification and phylogenetic construction accurately. The analysis from this study provides an important and valuable resource for studying the genetic basis for agronomic and adaptive differentiation of the Prunus species.

BackgroundAir pollutants and extreme temperature both pose significant threats to human health, but the synergistic effect between air pollutants and temperature on health is inconsistent.ObjectiveTo explore a potential synergistic effect between air pollutants and temperature on the mortality in China through literature review.MethodsWanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, VIP Information Chinese Journal Service Platform, PubMed, Web of Science, Science Direct, and Embase databases were searched. "Temperature" "air pollution" "mortality" were selected as keywords to collect literature on synergistic effect between air pollutants and temperature on mortality in China. Literature was published from 2000-01-01 to 2022-07-31 in Chinese or English. Two researchers screened the literature independently according to the inclusion criteria, and the results were integrated and analyzed after data extraction. The "meta" package of R software was used for meta-analysis.ResultsTwenty-seven studies met the inclusion criteria and associated air pollutants included PM10, PM2.5, O3, SO2, NO2, and CO. The impact of PM10 and PM2.5 on mortality in high temperature days was higher than that in moderate temperature days. In high temperature days, a 10 μg·m−3 increment in PM10 concentration corresponded to pooled estimates of 2.30% (95%CI: 1.34%-3.26%), 1.23% (95%CI: 0.64%-1.82%), and 1.42% (95%CI: 0.63%-2.22%) increase in non-accidental, cardiovascular, and respiratory mortalities, respectively. A 10 μg·m−3 increment in PM2.5 concentration corresponded to pooled estimates of 2.56% (95%CI: 2.00%-3.13%), 2.37% (95%CI: 1.64%-3.12%), and 2.14% (95%CI: 1.03%-3.25%) increase in non-accidental, cardiovascular, and respiratory mortalities, respectively. The synergistic effect of SO2 and NO2 on cardiovascular and respiratory mortalities in low temperature days was higher than that in moderate temperature days.ConclusionThe synergistic effects of air pollutants and temperature on mortality in low temperature days or in high temperature days are higher than that in moderate temperature days. The health protection related to these pollutants should be strengthened in these days.

Abstract Background Studies over the past decade have shown that competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) plays an essential role in the tumorigenesis and progression of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). Meanwhile, immune checkpoint blocker is gradually moving towards the first-line treatment of ccRCC. Hence, it’s urgent to develop a new prediction model for the efficiency of immunotherapy. At present, there is no study to reveal the effect of ceRNA network on the efficiency of immunotherapy for ccRCC. Methods To systematically analyze the effect of ceRNA hub genes in ccRCCon immune response, we constructed prognosis models based on ceRNAs and immune cells, respectively. We constructed ceRNA network using hypergeometric distribution test and correlation analysis with R script based on The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. We then applied the Cibersort algorithm to simulate the infiltration overview of immune cells in kidney renal clear carcinoma (KIRC) samples. Prognosis-related immune cells were screened and a predictive model of these cells was constructed. Prognosis-related immune cells and ceRNA hub genes were performed with co-expression analysis. Finally, qRT-PCR and immunofluorescence assays were performed to validate the results. Results The construction of ceRNA related prognosis model contained 8 hub genes, including RELT, MYO9B, KCNN4, SIX1, OTOGL, MALAT1, hsa-miR-130b-3p, and hsa-miR-21-5p. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) was 0.77 at 5 years. For the construction of immune cells prognosis model, 3 immune cells (T cells regulatory, Macrophages, Mast cells resting) were adopted, and the AUC was 0.65 at 5 years. We then merged the two models by correlation analysis and co-expression analysis. Finally, we found that KCNN4 positively correlates with T cells regulatory (Tregs) and negatively correlates with mast cells resting significantly. Furthermore, higher expression of KCNN4 may lead to a higher potential for immune evasion and lower efficiency for immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). Conclusions Generally, this is the first study to assess the prognostic value of immune related ceRNA hub genes in ccRCC, and KCNN4 was finally demonstrated to be a key regulatory factor with strong correlation with Tregs and mast cells resting.

We propose an ultra-thin I-type metasurface that independently controls the amplitude and phase of transmitted waves simultaneously by changing the geometry and direction of rotation of I-shaped metal particles. It is found that the direction of rotation and the size of the geometrical opening of the I-shaped copper particle independently control the amplitude and phase of the incident wave. In order to better demonstrate the independent regulation of the amplitude and phase of the metasurface, we arranged the element structure and constructed a grating structure. We can adjust the diffraction order of grating freely by arranging different element structures. Using classical lithography techniques, we have experimentally prepared the array structure samples and compared the theoretical results with the experimental measurements. Theory and experiment agree well. We further propose a two-layer structure to simultaneously regulate the amplitude and phase of terahertz waves. The amplitude and phase of transmitted terahertz waves can be independently regulated by the rotation angle and opening angle of the double-layer cell structure. We further prepared the double-layer structure sample, and the theoretical calculation results are in good agreement with the experimental measurement results.

Strong, electroactive and ultrafine conducting polymer fibres are prepared at the large scale by a modified wet spinning strategy. The obtained ultrafine polyaniline fibres are qualified to build tactile organic electrochemical transistors.

Spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury is a devastating medical disorder with poor prognosis that is associated with several pathophysiological conditions. However, multiple stimuli can trigger SCII, so the underlying mechanism of this pathology has not yet been fully established. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of non-coding RNAs that mediate a variety of nervous system diseases and regulate numerous physiological functions, including apoptosis, autophagy, inflammation, and blood-spinal cord barrier damage. miRNA expression profiles are known to be altered after spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury. Therefore, gaining a better understanding of the significant roles that miRNAs play in spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury could help develop potential preventive and therapeutic strategies for spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury. This review summarizes the current state of our knowledge about the relationship between miRNAs and spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury, as well as potential miRNAs that could be targeted to treat spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury.

Natural gas transmission pipelines installed in seismic and permafrost regions are vulnerable to cyclic loads with a large strain amplitude. Under these conditions, the pipe may fail in extremely low cycles, a situation which is also known as extremely low cycle fatigue (ELCF) failure. The fracture mechanism of ELCF shows significant difference to that of low cycle fatigue, and the ELCF life usually deviates from the Coffin–Manson law. Thus, it is essential to develop an effective model to predict ELCF failure of the pipeline. In this study, a series of ELCF tests is performed on pipeline steel (X70). A damage coupled mixed hardening model is developed to simulate the fracture behaviors. Continuum damage law under monotonic load is extended to cyclic load by introducing the effective equivalent plastic strain. By assuming the cyclic softening is induced by the damage accumulation, the damage parameters are fitted directly from the peak stress in each cycle. Then, the model is input into commercial software ABAQUS with a user material subroutine to simulate the fracture behaviors of these specimens. The simulation results show good agreements with the test results both under cyclic and monotonic load, which verifies the reliability of the model.

Land-use/land-cover mapping in coastal areas is a foundational yet significant pixel-wise classification work. Fully supervised semantic segmentation models have recently achieved tremendous success on this topic, but the limited annotation data will give rise to severe performance degradation. Besides, the ground categories in coastal areas characterized by great diversities may further exacerbate the adverse effects. In this paper, we propose a novel semi-supervised semantic segmentation framework based on pseudo supervision to address these issues. We first focus on the feature representation and impose perturbation to enforce consistency constraints. Unlike the naive distance measurement used in traditional consistency training, the predictions formalized with one-hot encoding from the auxiliary segmentation network are leveraged as the online pseudo supervisions. It possesses a lightweight structure and is easily generalized to multi-level architecture for exploring preferable behavior on lower-scale objects. In addition, we introduce a plain pseudo-labeling scheme to further improve the segmentation results. Its used offline pseudo supervisions are sampled from the first-stage predictions via adopting a class-wise soft version to confidence thresholds. We measure the proposed framework on two typical coastal datasets and compare it with other state-of-the-art methods. The experimental results demonstrate its excellent and competitive performance on land-use/land-cover mapping within semi-supervised scenarios.

Approximately 30% of deaths in Shanghai either occur at home or are not medically attended. The recorded cause of death (COD) in these cases may not be reliable. We applied the Smart Verbal Autopsy (VA) tool to assign the COD for a representative sample of home deaths certified by 16 community health centers (CHCs) from three districts in Shanghai, from December 2017 to June 2018. The results were compared with diagnoses from routine practice to ascertain the added value of using SmartVA. Overall, cause-specific mortality fraction (CSMF) accuracy improved from 0.93 (93%) to 0.96 after the application of SmartVA. A comparison with a “gold standard (GS)” diagnoses obtained from a parallel medical record review investigation found that 86.3% of the initial diagnoses made by the CHCs were assigned the correct COD, increasing to 90.5% after the application of SmartVA. We conclude that routine application of SmartVA is not indicated for general use in CHCs, although the tool did improve diagnostic accuracy for residual causes, such as other or ill-defined cancers and non-communicable diseases.

Abstract In this paper, we establish some new delay Gronwall–Bellman integral inequalities with power, which can be used as a convenient tool to study the qualitative properties of solutions to differential and integral equations. We also give some examples to illustrate the application of our results to obtain the estimation for the solution of the integral and differential equations.

Coastal land cover mapping is a significant yet challenging pixel-level segmentation task. Domain shift between optical remote sensing imagery will give rise to remarkable performance degradation for deep supervised methods. Besides, the ground objects characterized with interclass variance and class imbalance may further aggravate the adverse effect. Traditional adversary-based domain adaptation algorithms always leverage a binary discriminator to conduct global adaptation, ignoring the detailed class information. In this article, we develop a novel class-aware domain adaptation method to address these issues. Unlike the naive single one, we propose a joint local and global adversarial adaptation framework to separately execute class-specific and global domain alignment on feature and output spaces. For the former, the introduced classwise discriminator possesses different strategies to extract labels for both data domains. Meanwhile, we restore to entropy minimization to produce high-confident target prediction rather than using the early generated pseudo label with high confidence. Furthermore, we additionally adopt comprehensive reweighting on the supervised segmentation loss to track the class imbalance problem. This manner mainly comprises the sample-based median frequency balancing and the focal loss function for the minority and hard classes. We measure the proposed method on two typical coastal datasets and compare it with other state-of-the-art models. The experimental results confirm its excellent and competitive performance on cross-domain land cover mapping.

Development of low-cost, high-temperature-resistant and salt-resistant fracturing fluids is a hot and difficult issue in reservoir fluids modification. In this study, an organic zirconium crosslinker that was synthesized and crosslinked with partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM) was employed as a cost-effective polymer thickener to synthesize a high-temperature-resistant and salt-resistant fracturing fluid. The rheological properties of HPAM in tap water solutions and 2 × 104 mg/L salt solutions were analyzed. The results demonstrated that addition of salt reduced viscosity and viscoelasticity of HPAM solutions. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulation results indicated that, due to electrostatic interaction, the carboxylate ions of HPAM formed an ionic bridge with metal cations, curling the conformation, decreasing the radius of rotation and thus decreasing viscosity. However, optimizing fracturing fluids formulation can mitigate the detrimental effects of salt on HPAM. The rheological characteristics of the HPAM fracturing fluid crosslinking process were analyzed and a crosslinking rheological kinetic equation was established under small-amplitude oscillatory shear (SAOS) test. The results of a large-amplitude oscillation shear (LAOS) test indicate that the heating effect on crosslinking is stronger than the shear effect on crosslinking. High-temperature-resistant and shear-resistant experiments demonstrated good performance of fracturing fluids of tap water and salt solution at 200 °C and 180 °C.

Objective: Few studies have explored the different lineages of influenza B viruses, which cause excessive fatalities. This study aimed to estimate age- and sex-specific excessive mortality associated with influenza subtypes/lineages in Shanghai, during 2010–2015. Methods: We used quasi-Poisson regression models to fit weekly numbers of deaths from various causes by adjusting long-term trend, seasonal trend, and absolute humidity as confounding factors. The mortality burden associated with influenza subtypes/lineages was estimated by age and sex. Results: The average influenza-associated excessive mortality rate in deaths coded as all-cause was 27.66 (95%CI: 22.30–33.88) per 100,000 person-years. The excessive deaths from six underlying causes in people aged ≥65 years weight heavily. Compared to influenza B(Victoria) lineage, influenza B(Yamagata) lineage had more effect on the influenza-associated disease burden, particularly in patients with respiratory and circulatory diseases. There was no statistical significance of sex in the mortality burden associated with influenza. Conclusion: Disproportionate mortality associated with influenza B virus is dominated by B(Yamagata) lineage in Shanghai, and the evidence for sex differences in the influenza-associated mortality burden for respiratory and circulatory diseases is limited. Improving the vaccination of the elderly and strengthening laboratory-based surveillance of influenza B lineages in Shanghai are needed to reduce this influenza’s disease burden.

In order to obtain the best CO2 blasting drilling efficiency and improve the gas permeability coefficient of the coal seam in the mining area, a research method of liquid CO2 phase change blasting in the coal seam based on electrochemical numerical simulation is proposed. In this paper, the electrochemical numerical simulation of coalbed methane caused by liquid CO2 phase change blasting is studied through theoretical analysis, the antireflection mechanism of liquid carbon dioxide gas explosion on broken coal seam is obtained, and the initial fracture length of coal body caused by gas explosion stress wave is deduced by the mathematical model. A method for improving CBM desorption with nonmechanical coal was proposed, namely, a method for electrochemically strengthening CBM desorption. A comprehensive theory and application system of liquid carbon dioxide phase change gas explosion and anti-reflection technology are established by combining theoretical analysis, experimental research, and numerical simulation with field industrial comparative experiment. According to the gas tracing method, the precise measurement of the working face shows that the impact radius of the collision caused by the explosion of the liquid carbon dioxide phase change gas is 2 m. Gas emissions increased the emissions of coal seam drilling in the affected areas by 4 to 8 times, and the gas emission attenuation coefficient decreased from 0.76 times to 0.93 times. The carbon dioxide phase change gas cracking theory and antireflection theory and their application technology system are systematically studied. The research shows that the liquid carbon dioxide phase transfer gas blasting and infiltration technology is not limited by the geological conditions of the coal seam and has the characteristics of high efficiency and inherent climate. In view of the wide area of coal mines and the harsh geological conditions of coal seams, carbon dioxide phase change gas-induced cracking antireflection technology has application prospects and expandability.

Excessive fructose (Fru) consumption has been reported to favor nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). However, the molecular mechanism is still elusive, lacking effective therapeutic strategies. Carminic acid (CA), a glucosylated anthraquinone found in scale insects like Dactylopius coccus, exerts anti-tumor and anti-oxidant activities. Nevertheless, its regulatory role in Fru-induced NAFLD is still obscure. Here, the effects of CA on NAFLD in Fru-challenged mice and the underlying molecular mechanisms were explored. We found that Fru intake significantly led to insulin resistance and dyslipidemia in liver of mice, which were considerably attenuated by CA treatment through repressing endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress. Additionally, inflammatory response induced by Fru was also attenuated by CA via the blockage of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB), mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) and tumor necrosis factor α/TNF-α receptor (TNF-α/TNFRs) signaling pathways. Moreover, Fru-provoked oxidative stress in liver tissues was remarkably attenuated by CA mainly through improving the activation of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf-2). These anti-dyslipidemias, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant activities regulated by CA were confirmed in the isolated primary hepatocytes with Fru stimulation. Importantly, the in vitro experiments demonstrated that Fru-induced lipid accumulation was closely associated with inflammatory response and reactive oxygen species (ROS) production regulated by TNF-α and Nrf-2 signaling pathways, respectively. In conclusion, these results demonstrated that CA could be considered as a potential therapeutic strategy to attenuate metabolic disorder and NAFLD in Fru-challenged mice mainly through suppressing inflammatory response and oxidative stress.

Exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and metals is associated with many adverse effects on human health, accompanied by oxidative stress. This study aimed to investigate the effects of co-exposure to PAHs and metals on oxidative stress in healthy adults. A preliminary longitudinal panel study was conducted between 2017 and 2018 in 45 healthy college students in Caofeidian, China. Six urinary monohydroxylated-PAHs (OH-PAHs), ten metals, 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine (8-OHdG), and 8-iso-prostaglandin-F2α (8-iso-PGF2α) were measured. Linear mixed effects (LME) models and Bayesian kernel machine regression (BKMR) models were used to explore the associations of urinary OH-PAHs and metals with 8-OHdG and 8-iso-PGF2α. LME models showed that most urinary OH-PAHs and metals were positively associated with 8-OHdG and 8-iso-PGF2α. For example, a one-unit increase in the ln-transformed level of 1-hydroxypyrene (1-OHPyr) and vanadium (V) was associated with an increase of 143.8% (95% CI: 105.7 – 188.9%) and 105.8% (95% CI: 79.2–136.4%) in 8-OHdG; 8-iso-PGF2α increased by 118.9% (95% CI: 99.2–140.5%) and 83.9% (95% CI: 67.2–102.2%) with a one-unit increase in the ln-transformed level of 3-hydroxyphenanthrene (3-OHPhe) and aluminum (Al). BKMR models indicated the overall positive associations of the mixture of six OH-PAHs, ten metals, or six OH-PAHs and ten metals with 8-OHdG and 8-iso-PGF2α. Urinary 1-OHPyr and V were identified as the major contributors to the increased urinary 8-OHdG levels, while urinary 3-OHPhe and Al were the most vital contributors to the increased urinary 8-iso-PGF2α levels. The results revealed the longitudinal dose-response relationships of urinary OH-PAHs and metals with oxidative stress among healthy adults in Caofeidian; this finding serves as an evidence regarding the early health hazard caused by exposure to PAHs and metals and has implications for the environmental management of PAH and metal emissions in this area.

Abstract Background Cannabinoid-2 receptor (CB2R) plays an important role in the cascading inflammation following ischemic injury. The toll-like receptors 4 (TLR4)/matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP9) signal pathway is involved in blood-brain barrier dysfunction induced by ischemia stroke. The aim of this study is to investigate the roles of exogenous activation of CB2R on attenuating neurological deficit and blood-spinal cord barrier (BSCB) disruption during rat spinal cord ischemia reperfusion (I/R) injury, through modulation of the TLR4/MMP9 axis. Methods Animals were intraperitoneally pretreated with TLR4 inhibitor TAK-242, CB2R agonist JWH-133 with or without CB2R antagonist AM630, or equivalent volume of vehicle 1 h before undergoing 14-min occlusion of descending aorta or sham operation. One, two, three, and 7 days after reperfusion, hindlimb locomotor function was evaluated with Basso, Beattie, and Bresnahan (BBB) Locomotor Scale, BSCB integrity was detected by measurement of Evans blue (EB) extravasation and spinal cord edema. The protein expression levels of CB2R, tight junction protein Zonula occluden-1 (ZO-1), TLR4, MMP9, MyD88, NF-κB p65, and NF-κB p-p65 were determined by western blot. The MMP9 activity was analyzed by gelatin zymography. Double immunofluorescence staining was used to identify the perivascular localization of CB2R, TLR4, MMP9, and reactive astrocytes, as well as the colocalization of CB2R, TLR4, and MMP9 with reactive astrocytes. Results JWH-133 pretreatment attenuated hindlimb motor functional deficit and BSCB leakage, along with preventing downregulation of ZO-1 and upregulation of TLR4/MMP9, similar to the effects of TAK-242 preconditioning. JWH-133 or TAK-242 pretreatment reduced the perivascular expression of TLR4/MMP9 and reactive astrocytes following injury. JWH-133 pretreatment also downregulated MyD88/NF-κB level, MMP9 activity, and the astrocytic TLR4/MMP9 after I/R injury. Conclusions Exogenous activation of CB2R by JWH-133 attenuated neurological deficit and BSCB disruption after spinal cord I/R injury via inhibition of TLR4/MMP9 expression.

ABSTRACTInfection with a novel H10N8 influenza virus in humans was first described in China in December 2013, which raised concerns related to public health. This novel virus was subsequently confirmed to have originated from a live poultry market. However, whether this virus can infect other mammals remains unclear. In the present study, antibody specific for H10N8 influenza virus was detected in swine herds in southern China during serological monitoring for swine influenza virus. The pathogenicity and transmissibility of this H10N8 influenza virus to swine was examined. The results showed that swine are susceptible to infection with human-origin H10N8 influenza virus, which causes viral shedding, severe tissue lesions, and seroconversion, while infection with avian-origin H10N8 influenza virus causes only seroconversion and no viral shedding. Importantly, human-origin H10N8 influenza virus can inefficiently be transmitted between swine and cause seroconversion through direct contact. This study provides a new perspective regarding the ecology of H10N8 influenza virus and highlights the importance of epidemiological monitoring of the H10N8 influenza virus in different animal species, which will be helpful for preventing and controlling future infections by this virus.

The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between bladder urothelial cancer (BLCA) and immunity, to screen prognosis-related immune genes (PIGs), and to construct an immune-related prognosis model (IRPM). We processed the relevant data of The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA-BLCA) and GSE13507 using R software and Perl. We divided BLCA into high-immunity and low-immunity subtypes. There were significant differences in the two subtypes. In addition, we identified 13 PIGs of BLCA by jointly analyzing the gene expression data and survival information of GSE13507 and TCGA-BLCA, and constructed IRPM through nine of them. The low-risk group had better survival outcome than the high-risk group. We also constructed a nomogram based on clinicopathological information and risk scores of the patients. Moreover, the prognosis of BLCA patients was significantly impacted by the expression of almost every gene used to calculate the risk score. The result of real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction revealed that all the genes used to calculate the risk score were differentially expressed between BLCA and adjacent normal tissues, except PDGFRA. Our research provided potential targets for the treatment of BLCA and a reference for judging the prognosis of BLCA.

Traditional optics usually studies the uniform polarization state of light. Compared with uniform vector beams, non-uniform vector beams have more polarization information. Most of the research on generating cylindrical vector beams using metasurfaces focuses on generating transmitted beams using the geometric phase. However, the geometric phase requires the incident light to be circularly polarized, which limits the design freedom. Here, an all-dielectric reflective metasurface is designed to generate different output light according to the different polarization states of the incident light. By combining the two encoding arrangements of the dynamic phase and the geometric phase, the output light is a radial vector beam when the linearly polarized light is incident along the x-direction. Under the incidence of linearly polarized light along the y-direction, the generated output light is an azimuthal vector beam. Under the incidence of left-handed circularly polarized light, the generated output light is a vortex beam with a topological charge of −1. Under the incidence of right-handed circularly polarized light, the generated output light is a vortex beam with a topological charge of +1. The proposed reflective metasurface has potential applications in generating vector beams with high integration.

A novel nonlinear dynamic modeling approach is proposed for the T-shaped beam structures widely used in the field of aerospace. All of the geometrical nonlinearities including the terms in the deformation of the beams, the terms at the connections, and the free ends of beams are considered in the dynamic modeling process. The global mode method is employed to determine the natural frequencies and global mode shapes of the linearized system. The validity and accuracy of the derived model are verified by comparing the natural frequencies obtained with those calculated from FEM. Adopting the Galerkin truncation procedure, a set of reduced-order nonlinear ODEs is obtained for the structure. A study on the variation of dynamic responses taking the different numbers of global modes into account is performed to determine the number of modes taken in nonlinear vibration analysis. A comparison between the responses of the system with linear or nonlinear matching and boundary conditions is given to evaluate the importance of neglecting and reserving the nonlinear terms in matching and boundary conditions. It is shown that ignoring the nonlinear terms in both matching and boundary conditions may significantly alter the responses while developing the discretized governing ODEs of the structure.

BackgroundSpinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury (SCII) is a catastrophic complication involved with cardiovascular, spine, and thoracic surgeries and can lead to paraplegia. Nevertheless, the molecular mechanism of SCII remain ill-defined.MethodsExpression profiling (GSE138966) data were obtained from GEO database. Then, differentially expressed (DE) lncRNAs and DEmRNAs were screened out with p < 0.05, and | fold change| > 1.5. Aberrant miRNAs expression in SCII was obtained from PubMed. Functional enrichment analysis of overlapping DEmRNAs between predicted mRNAs in miRDB database and DEmRNAs obtained from GSE138966 was performed using cluster Profiler R package. The lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network was established in light of ceRNA theory. The key lncRNAs in the ceRNA network were identified by topological analysis. Subsequently, key lncRNAs related ceRNA-pathway network and transcription factors (TFs)-mRNAs network were constructed. Simultaneously, the expression levels of hub genes were measured via qRT-PCR.ResultsThe results in this study indicated that 76 miRNAs, 1373 lncRNAs, and 4813 mRNAs were differentially expressed in SCII. A SCII-related ceRNA network was constructed with 154 ncRNAs, 139 mRNAs, and 51 miRNAs. According topological analysis, six lncRNAs (NONRATT019236.2, NONRATT009530.2, NONRATT026999.2, TCONS_00032391, NONRATT023112.2, and NONRATT021956.2) were selected to establish the ceRNA-pathway network, and then two candidate hub lncRNAs (NONRATT009530.2 and NONRATT026999.2) were identified. Subsequently, two lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA regulatory axes were identified. NONRATT026999.2 and NONRATT009530.2 might involve SCII via miR-20b-5p/Map3k8 axis based on the complex ceRNA network. SP1 and Hnf4a acting as important TFs might regulate Map3k8. Furthermore, qRT-PCR results showed that the NONRATT009530.2, NONRATT026999.2, Map3k8, Hfn4a, and SP1 were significantly upregulated in SCII of rats, while the miR-20b-5p was downregulated.ConclusionOur results offer a new insight to understand the ceRNA regulation mechanism in SCII and identify highlighted lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA axes and two key TFs as potential targets for prevention and treatment of SCII.

Abstract Objective Few studies investigating associations between fine particulate air pollution and hemorrhagic stroke have considered subtypes. Additionally, less is known about the modification of such association by factors measured at the individual level. We aimed to investigate the risk of fatal intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) incidence in case of PM2.5 (particles ≤ 2.5 μm in aerodynamic diameter) exposure. Methods Data on incidence of fatal ICH from 1 June 2012 to 31 May 2014 were extracted from the acute stroke mortality database in Shanghai Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention (SCDC). We used the time-stratified case-crossover approach to assess the association between daily concentrations of PM2.5 and fatal ICH incidence in Shanghai, China. Results A total of 5286 fatal ICH cases occurred during our study period. The averaged concentration of PM2.5 was 77.45 μg/m3. The incidence of fatal ICH was significantly associated with PM2.5 concentration. Substantial differences were observed among subjects with diabetes compared with those without; following the increase of PM2.5 in lag2, the OR (95% CI) for subjects with diabetes was 1.26 (1.09–1.46) versus 1.05 (0.98–1.12) for those without. We did not find evidence of effect modification by hypertension and cigarette smoking. Conclusions Fatal ICH incidence was associated with PM2.5 exposure. Our results also suggested that diabetes may increase the risk for ICH incidence in relation to PM2.5.

Our previous studies showed that exogenous glutathione (GSH) decreased cadmium (Cd) concentration in shoots and alleviated the growth inhibition in pakchoi (Brassica chinensis L.) under Cd stress. Nevertheless, it is largely unknown how GSH decreases Cd accumulation in edible parts of pakchoi. This experiment mainly explored the mechanisms of GSH-induced reduction of Cd accumulation in shoot of pakchoi. The results showed that compared with sole Cd treatment, Cd + GSH treatment remarkably increased the expression of BcIRT1 and BcIRT2, and further enhanced the concentrations of Cd and Fe in root. By contrast, GSH application declined the concentration of Cd in the xylem sap. However, these results were not caused by xylem loading process because the expression of BcHMA2 and BcHMA4 had not significant difference between sole Cd treatment and Cd + GSH treatment. In addition, exogenous GSH significantly enhanced the expression of BcPCS1 and promoted the synthesis of PC2, PC3 and PC4 under Cd stress. At the same time, exogenous GSH also significantly improved the expression of BcABCC1 and BcABCC2 in the roots of seedling under Cd stress, suggesting that more PCs-Cd complexes may be sequestrated into vacuoles by ABCC1 and ABCC2 transporters. The results showed that exogenous GSH could up-regulate the expression of BcIRT1/2 to increase the Cd accumulation in root, and the improvement of PCs contents and the expression of BcABCC1/2 enhanced the compartmentalization of Cd in root vacuole of pakchoi under Cd stress. To sum up, exogenous GSH reduce the concentration of free Cd2+ in the cytoplast of root cells and then dropped the loading of Cd into the xylem, which eventually given rise to the reduction of Cd accumulation in edible portion of pakchoi.

High-content H2S gas reservoirs are important for natural gas extraction. However, the precipitation and deposition of elemental sulfur in high-sulfur-content gas reservoirs eventually lead to porosity and permeability damage, resulting in the low well productivity. Therefore, it is worth developing an accurate production prediction model considering sulfur deposition for fractured horizontal wells. In this study, based on the partition model and transient percolation theory, a novel numerical model considering the damage of sulfur deposition with pressure change on reservoir porosity and permeability was first developed to predict the production from fractured horizontal wells in high-sulfur-content gas reservoirs. Then, it was validated by actual field data from a high-sulfur-content gas reservoir. After that, the influence of sulfur deposition on the production of fractured horizontal wells was revealed through theoretical calculations, and the effects of hydraulic fracture parameters on production were analyzed. The results show that elemental sulfur gradually deposits in the reservoir pores as the reservoir pressure decreases and the production time increases, which eventually leads to permeability damage and reduces reservoir productivity; this negative impact gradually increases over time. It is also shown that the production of fractured horizontal wells increases with an increase in the half-length, fracture conductivity, and fracture number. Compared with the fracture half-length, the fracture conductivity and fracture number have a greater influence on the production of a single well. The model can handle the influence of nonlinear parameters caused by sulfur deposition, which allows accurate calculations and provides guidance for the development of fractured horizontal wells in gas reservoirs with high sulfur content.
