This repository contains: A notebook in R language presenting a methodology, in line with the Data Science process, for clustering electricity consumption patterns at the household level. This deliverable presents the technical documentation of the Invoicing Module for R2 and contains the technical explanation of new invoicing software that integrates PAYT (Pay As You Throw) schemes. Section 2 provides an overview of PAYT schemes in Waste4Think but we have leaved details in D1.3. Section 3 explains content and methodology used in this deliverable. Section 4 presents the security assessment of the components used in Seveso and Zamudio pilots. Section 5 provides the Architecture of the Software, giving an overview of the three software - WINTARIF, Mawis U3.0 and FDeusto software - by introducing the relationship between the environment and the development principles used in component design and by describing i. how the software is divided; ii. the functionality of every component; iii. the main interaction between each component, which fulfilsthe functional requirements. Section 6 presents the Data Interface describing how the invoice module is related to the external environment and the interfaces for Wintarif software, while for FDeusto Open Source Software, it is described the extension to the data model presented in Section 7 of Deliverable D2.1 used to store the information needed to issue the PAYT in Zamudio. Section 7 describes how the tariff is algebraically defined and examples notice of payment structure for the Seveso pilot. Section 9 describes how the safety, reliability, transparency and data security are guarantee in Wintarif Software.&nbsp

This deliverable presents the implementation of the Waste4Think Back-End platform as the middleware layer of the waste operation and management system architecture defined in the D2.1 "Technical Documentation of R1: Operation and Management Module". The Back-End platform implemented is mainly based on the FIWARE Generic Enables components and it is responsible for handling context information coming from the sensors deployed in the Waste4Think Pilots, as well as control instrumentation of the treatment plants, apps, learning material, serious game, and dispatching it to components that are in the Business / Service layer in order to support the results R1 “Operation and Management Module, R2 “Collection Module”, R3 “Planning Module”.

The aim of WASTE4THINK ́s Data Management Plan is to provide an analysis of the main elements of the data management policy that are going to be used by the consortium. The results of the project waste4think It will produce an improvement in the management of public services which address the citizens and other stakeholders ́ needs. These services are expected to be based on the combination of Open Government Datasets with user-generated data though social networks and third party data to give place to added value datasets. The Waste4think project’s partners are committed to offer as much information as possible generated by the project through Open Access. Such information includes: scientific publications issued by the project consortium, white papers published, open source code generated, anonymous interview results, or datasets used for gathering stakeholders ́ feedback. The present document constitutes the first version of WASTE4THINK`s Data Management Plan (DMP). The main objective of this DMP is to provide an analysis of the main elements of the data management policy that are going to be used by the consortium.

This deliverable will define the Sustainability Assessment Model for all the solutions involved in the project as well as calculating the baseline of every pilot using this model. Each section will have a brief description of the specific characteristics of the waste management systems of each pilot, the general and specific objectives, the methodology used and the main results. When necessary an appendix will be used to include all the supplementary information. When necessary an appendix will be used to include all the supplementary information. This deliverable will set the basis of comparison to follow the progress of the project in terms of KPIs for the four pilots. However, as in this stage the methodology is still being implementing some corrections or updates (specially regarding the data) may be necessary in the future. Any change that may arise in the KPI methodology or in the update of the data will be updated in the subsequent monitoring reports (from D1.4 to D1.7).

This deliverable will define all the cross-cutting aspects of the Project that should be taken into consideration for the subsequent developments. This deliverable will include a comprehensive legislation framework analysis in each pilot site, the definition of the scope of the project identifying the user groups and all involved stakeholders, specifying the use cases and the functional and non-functional requirements of all the eco-solution as well as the definition of the technical specification of the envisaged technical solutions. Figure 1 depicts the content of this deliverable. Each section will have a brief description of the objective, the methodology used and the main results. When necessary an appendix will be used to include all the supplementary or confidential information.

In this deliverable, we provide a technical description of R1: Operation and Management Module. This module will feature several of the core components of the solution developed in Waste4Think. Section 2 will provide a broad description of them and their relationship with the rest of modules of the project. Section 3 focuses on the technical description of the environment (FIWARE-LAB) where the solution will be deployed. Section 4 contains a description of the middleware (FIWARE) and the Generic Enablers (GE) used as building blocks of R1. Section 5 details the mock-ups of the user interface for the components of R1: Dashboard, Rules Creator, Public Observatory, What-if scenarios creator, and the Citizen Behaviour Tracking. Section 6 contains the technical description of the new sensors that will be used in the project (both, the ones being developed and the commercial ones already available). Finally, Section 7 describes the complete data model that will be developed in the project and on which the whole intelligent waste management system approach will be based. The quantification of the sustainability degree of the waste management chain in a municipality or a region is essential to move forward a more sustainable scenario. This paper presents the WESTE methodology for holistically evaluation the waste management chain under an environmental, social, technical and economic (ESTE) perspective. The methodology allows benchmarking the sustainability degree of a case study, making comparisons among different case studies and tracking the developments over the time. As a result, 12 high level sustainability indicators have been defined and more than 50 intermediate and low-level indicators. 70% of the indicators are technical indicators describing the performance of the system such as the amount of waste collected or the kilometres per route. Social indicators cover the 14% of them describing mainly the behaviour of the citizens. Environmental and economic indicators account for the 16% of indicators describing the environmental impact and cost of the system.

El principal objetivo del proyecto Waste4Think es pasar del actual sistema de gestión de residuos a un modelo basado en los principios de economía circular. Para ello, se integrarán y validarán 20 soluciones eco-innovadoras que cubrirán la cadena de valor de los residuos a través de: 1) Tecnologías de la información y de la comunicación (Herramientas TIC) para apoyar las operaciones diarias y la planificación a largo plazo, 2) Apps para fomentar la participación y compromiso de la ciudadanía, 3) Materiales educativos innovadores y juegos serios o formativos, 4) Herramientas de ciencia ciudadana para la co-creación de soluciones, 5) Mecanismos para promover cambios de comportamiento basados en instrumentos económicos y acciones sociales, 6) Soluciones descentralizadas para la valorización y recuperación de recursos de alto valor. Estas soluciones se implementarán en 4 áreas europeas de diferentes características: 1) Zamudio (España), municipio altamente industrializado con población dispersa y recogida selectiva a pie de calle, 2) Halandri (Grecia), área suburbana con alta concentración de negocios y un sistema de gestión de residuos simple, 3) Seveso (Italia), municipio residencial con un sistema de recogida puerta a puerta y, 4) Cascais (Portugal), ciudad costera y turística que implementará un sistema avanzado de recogida. El proyecto, formado por 19 socios, tiene una duración de 42 meses y cuenta con una contribución de la CE de 9 millones de €. Los objetivos principales son: un incremento del 20% en la tasa de separación, un ahorro del 10% en los gastos de gestión y una reducción del 10% en las emisiones de GEIs.
