Abstract

The article explains the crystal structures of the various intermediated that are involved in the nitroalkane oxidase reaction, where in the neutral nitroalkanes are oxidized to corresponding nitrite. Flavin cofactor is shown to act as an important intermediate in the discussed reaction cycle.
