We study some combinatorial statistics defined on the set NC^{mton}(n) of monotonically ordered non-crossing partitions of {1,...,n}, and on the set NC_2^{mton}(2n)$ of monotonically ordered non-crossing pair-partitions of {1,...,2n}. An important fact used in the calculations is that one has a natural and very convenient structure of rooted tree on the union of the NC^{mton}(n)'s, and likewise for the union of the NC_2^{mton}(2n)'s. Unlike in the analogous results known for unordered non-crossing partitions, the computations of expectations and variances for natural block-counting statistics on NC^{mton}(n) and for the expectation of the area statistic on NC_2^{mton}(2n) turn out to yield a logarithmic regime., Comment: 33 pages

We report intense terahertz electroluminescence from Dirac-Landau polaritons, representing a major step toward achieving stimulated cyclotron emission and polariton-based lasers. By strongly coupling the cyclotron transitions of two-dimensional Dirac fermions in HgTe quantum wells with optical cavity modes, we observe efficient emission near the lasing threshold. This work demonstrates that polariton condensation, a process that bypasses the need for electronic population inversion, can significantly reduce the emission threshold compared to conventional mechanisms requiring high electric fields. Moreover, this concept unlocks the potential for stimulated emission in previously unsuitable narrow-gap semiconductors, as well as Dirac materials with non-equidistant Landau levels. These results open a new way for the development of compact, tunable terahertz lasers based on Landau polaritons, offering new opportunities for solid-state laser technology and applications in the terahertz gap., Comment: Manuscript and Supplementary Materials

In this article, we consider qualified notions of geometric finiteness in mapping class groups called parabolically geometrically finite (PGF) and reducibly geometrically finite (RGF). We examine several constructions of subgroups and determine when they produce a PGF or RGF subgroup. These results provide a variety of new examples of PGF and RGF subgroups. Firstly, we consider the right-angled Artin subgroups constructed by Koberda and Clay--Leininger--Mangahas, which are generated by high powers of given elements of the mapping class group. We give conditions on the supports of these elements that imply the resulting right-angled Artin subgroup is RGF. Secondly, we prove combination theorems which provide conditions for when a collection of reducible subgroups, or sufficiently deep finite-index subgroups thereof, generate an RGF subgroup., Comment: 34 pages, 6 figures

Computational chemistry has come a long way over the course of several decades, enabling subatomic level calculations particularly with the development of Density Functional Theory (DFT). Recently, machine-learned potentials (MLP) have provided a way to overcome the prevalent time and length scale constraints in such calculations. Unfortunately, these models utilise complex and high dimensional representations, making it challenging for users to intuit performance from chemical structure, which has motivated the development of methods for uncertainty quantification. One of the most common methods is to introduce an ensemble of models and employ an averaging approach to determine the uncertainty. In this work, we introduced Bayesian Neural Networks (BNNs) for uncertainty aware energy evaluation as a more principled and resource efficient method to achieve this goal. The richness of our uncertainty quantification enables a new type of hybrid workflow where calculations can be offloaded to a MLP in a principled manner.

Within a joint experimental and theoretical research project, single photoionization of He-like B$^{3+}$ ions was investigated in the energy range from approximately 250 to 1200~eV. With the parent-ion beam in the experiment containing both $1s^2~^1S$ ground-state and $1s2s~^3S$ metastable B$^{3+}$ ions, double-core-hole resonances could be studied. Two series of hollow resonant states were observed, one populated by $K$-shell double excitation $1s^2~^1S \to 2\ell n\ell'~^1P$ ($\ell=s,p$; $\ell'=p,s$; $n=2,3,..,6$) at photon energies up to about 510~eV, the other by $K$-shell single excitation $1s2s~^3S \to 2\ell n\ell'~^3P$ ($\ell=s,p$; $\ell'=p,s$; $n=2,3,..,6$) at energies up to about 310~eV. High resolving powers up to approximately 29000 were achieved. The relativistic many-body perturbation theory was employed to determine level-to-level cross sections for $K$-shell excitation with subsequent autoionization. The resonance energies were calculated with inclusion of electron correlation and radiative contributions. The energy uncertainties of the most prominent resonances are estimated to be below $\pm 1$ meV. Convergent close coupling (CCC) calculations provided single-photoionization cross sections $\sigma_{34}$ for B$^{3+}$ including the resonant and non-resonant channels. Apart from the resonances, $\sigma_{34}$ is dominated by direct ionization in the investigated energy range. The contribution $\sigma_{34}^{\mathrm{dir}}$ of the latter process to $\sigma_{34}$ was separately determined by using the random-phase approximation with exchange and relativistic Hartree-Fock calculations which agree very well with previous calculations. Direct ionization of one electron accompanied by excitation of the remaining electron was treated by the CCC theory and found to be a minor contribution to $\sigma_{34}$., Comment: 27 pages, 19 figures

High resolution rotational Terahertz (THz) spectroscopy has been widely applied to the studies of numerous polar gas phase molecules, in particular volatile organic compounds (VOCs). During the storage of foodstuffs packed under a protective atmosphere, microbial activity will lead to the generation of a complex mixture of trace gases that could be used as food spoilage indicators. Here we have demonstrated that the THz instrumentation presently available provides sufficient sensitivity and selectivity to monitor the generation of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) in the headspace of packed Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) fillet portions. A comprehensive comparison was made by selective-ion flow-tube mass spectrometry (SIFT-MS) in order to validate the THz measurements and protocol. The detectivity of a range of alternative compounds for this application is also provided, based on the experimental detection limit observed and molecular spectroscopic properties. Molecules like ethanol, methyl mercaptan and ammonia are suitable indicators with the presently available sensitivity levels, while dimethyl sulfide, acetone and butanone may be considered with a sensitivity improvement of 2 orders of magnitude.

It has recently been shown that Terahertz sensors can effectively detect the spin resonances of Dirac fermions in graphene. The associated photovoltaic measurement technique allows for the investigation of the intrinsic spin-orbit coupling in graphene as well as its topological properties from microwave to Terahertz frequencies. In this work, using graphene/MoS2-based Field-Effect Transistors, we observed a magnetic resonance photovoltage signal in the Gigahertz range that is independent of the gate bias. The dispersion of the associated spin-flip transitions remains intriguingly unaffected by the MoS2 layer. In parallel, the spin-related signal consistently appears as a drop in photovoltage, regardless of the signal's polarity or origin, whether it arises from plasma wave rectification or thermoelectric effects. This behavior is interpreted as a decrease in the system's spin polarization due to spin-dependent recombination or scattering of photocarriers. Understanding the various photovoltaic signals in highly sensitive Gigahertz/Terahertz sensors paves the way for exploring spin-dependent mechanisms in two-dimensional quantum materials, influenced by proximity effects such as spin-orbit coupling, topology, and magnetism., Comment: 23 pages, 6 figures in the main text and 6 in the supplementary materials

Superconducting sensors doped with rare isotopes have recently demonstrated powerful sensing performance for sub-keV radiation from nuclear decay. Here, we report the first high-resolution recoil spectroscopy of a single, selected nuclear state using superconducting tunnel junction (STJ) sensors. The STJ sensors were used to measure the eV-scale nuclear recoils produced in $^7$Be electron capture decay in coincidence with a 478 keV $\gamma$-ray emitted in decays to the lowest-lying excited nuclear state in $^7$Li. Details of the Doppler broadened recoil spectrum depend on the slow-down dynamics of the recoil ion. The measured spectral broadening is compared to empirical stopping power models as well as modern molecular dynamics simulations at low energy. The results have implications in several areas from nuclear structure and stopping powers at eV-scale energies to direct searches for dark matter, neutrino mass measurements, and other physics beyond the standard model.

We present a multi-probe transport analysis that effectively separates bulk and edge currents in large Hall bar devices with standard geometries. Applied to transport measurements on all possible four-probe configurations of six-probe Hall bar devices made of inverted three-layer InAs/GaInSb quantum wells (QWs), our analysis not only reveals the presence of dissipative edge currents in the topological gap, but also allows the temperature dependence of bulk and edge conductivity to be evaluated separately. The temperature dependence of the edge conductivity for Hall bar channels from 10 $\mu$m to 70~$\mu$m in the range of 1.5 K to 45 K is consistent with the theoretical expectation of weakly interacting helical edge electrons with backscattering due to localized magnetic moments of charge impurities. We argue that these charge impurities are naturally associated with intrinsic Ga-antisite defects, which act as double acceptors in InAs/Ga(In)Sb-based QWs.

This tutorial addresses the challenge of incorporating large language models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT, in a data analytics class. It details several new in-class and out-of-class teaching techniques enabled by AI. For example, instructors can parallelize instruction by having students interact with different custom-made GPTs to learn different parts of an analysis and then teach each other what they learned from their AIs. For another example, instructors can turn problem sets into AI tutoring sessions, whereby a custom-made GPT guides a student through the problems, and the student uploads the chatlog for their homework submission. For a third example, you can assign different labs to each section of your class and have each section create AI assistants to help the other sections work through their labs. This tutorial advocates the programming in the English paradigm, in which students express the desired data transformations in prose and then use AI to generate the corresponding code. Students can wrangle data more effectively by programming in English than by manipulating in Excel. However, some students will program in English better than others, so you will still derive a robust grade distribution (at least with current LLMs).

We present the localization and host galaxy of FRB 20190208A, a repeating source of fast radio bursts (FRBs) discovered using CHIME/FRB. As part of the PRECISE repeater localization program on the EVN, we monitored FRB 20190208A for 65.6 hours at $\sim1.4$ GHz and detected a single burst, which led to its VLBI localization with 260 mas uncertainty (2$\sigma$). Follow-up optical observations with the MMT Observatory ($i\gtrsim 25.7$ mag (AB)) found no visible host at the FRB position. Subsequent deeper observations with the GTC, however, revealed an extremely faint galaxy ($r=27.32 \pm0.16$ mag), very likely ($99.95 \%$) associated with FRB 20190208A. Given the dispersion measure of the FRB ($\sim580$ pc cm$^{-3}$), even the most conservative redshift estimate ($z_{\mathrm{max}}\sim0.83$) implies that this is the lowest-luminosity FRB host to date ($\lesssim10^8L_{\odot}$), even less luminous than the dwarf host of FRB 20121102A. We investigate how localization precision and the depth of optical imaging affect host association, and discuss the implications of such a low-luminosity dwarf galaxy. Unlike the other repeaters with low-luminosity hosts, FRB 20190208A has a modest Faraday rotation measure of a few tens of rad m$^{-2}$, and EVN plus VLA observations reveal no associated compact persistent radio source. We also monitored FRB 20190208A for 40.4 hours over 2 years as part of the \'ECLAT repeating FRB monitoring campaign on the Nan\c{c}ay Radio Telescope, and detected one burst. Our results demonstrate that, in some cases, the robust association of an FRB with a host galaxy will require both high localization precision, as well as deep optical follow-up., Comment: submitted to ApJL

The Beryllium Electron capture in Superconducting Tunnel junctions (BeEST) experiment searches for evidence of heavy neutrino mass eigenstates in the nuclear electron capture decay of $^7$Be by precisely measuring the recoil energy of the $^7$Li daughter. In Phase-III, the BeEST experiment has been scaled from a single superconducting tunnel junction (STJ) sensor to a 36-pixel array to increase sensitivity and mitigate gamma-induced backgrounds. Phase-III also uses a new continuous data acquisition system that greatly increases the flexibility for signal processing and data cleaning. We have developed procedures for signal processing and spectral fitting that are sufficiently robust to be automated for large data sets. This article presents the optimized procedures before unblinding the majority of the Phase-III data set to search for physics beyond the standard model.

Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) models may carry societal transformation to an extent demanding a delicate balance between opportunity and risk. This manuscript is the first of a series of White Papers informing the development of IEEE-SA's p3995: `Standard for the Implementation of Safeguards, Controls, and Preventive Techniques for Artificial Intelligence (AI) Models', Chair: Marina Cort\^{e}s (https://standards.ieee.org/ieee/3395/11378/). In this first horizon-scanning we identify key attention areas for standards activities in AI. We examine different principles for regulatory efforts, and review notions of accountability, privacy, data rights and mis-use. As a safeguards standard we devote significant attention to the stability of global infrastructures and consider a possible overdependence on cloud computing that may result from densely coupled AI components. We review the recent cascade-failure-like Crowdstrike event in July 2024, as an illustration of potential impacts on critical infrastructures from AI-induced incidents in the (near) future. It is the first of a set of articles intended as White Papers informing the audience on the standard development. Quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (qMRI) is increasingly investigated for use in a variety of clinical tasks from diagnosis, through staging, to treatment monitoring. However, experiment design in qMRI, the identification of the optimal acquisition protocols, has been focused on obtaining the most precise parameter estimations, with no regard for the specific requirements of downstream tasks. Here we propose SCREENER: A general framework for task-specific experiment design in quantitative MRI. SCREENER incorporates a task-specific objective and seeks the optimal protocol with a deep-reinforcement-learning (DRL) based optimization strategy. To illustrate this framework, we employ a task of classifying the inflammation status of bone marrow using diffusion MRI data with intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) modelling. Results demonstrate SCREENER outperforms previous ad hoc and optimized protocols under clinical signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) conditions, achieving significant improvement, both in binary classification tasks, e.g. from 67% to 89%, and in a multi-class classification task, from 46% to 59%. Additionally, we show this improvement is robust to the SNR. Lastly, we demonstrate the advantage of DRL-based optimization strategy, enabling zero-shot discovery of near-optimal protocols for a range of SNRs not used in training. In conclusion, SCREENER has the potential to enable wider uptake of qMRI in the clinic.

We report the detection of 239 trans-Neptunian Objects discovered through the on-going New Horizons survey for distant minor bodies being performed with the Hyper Suprime-Cam mosaic imager on the Subaru Telescope. These objects were discovered in images acquired with either the r2 or the recently commissioned EB-gri filter using shift and stack routines. Due to the extremely high stellar density of the search region down stream of the spacecraft, new machine learning techniques had to be developed to manage the extremely high false positive rate of bogus candidates produced from the shift and stack routines. We report discoveries as faint as r2$\sim26.5$. We highlight an overabundance of objects found at heliocentric distances $R\gtrsim70$~au compared to expectations from modelling of the known outer Solar System. If confirmed, these objects betray the presence of a heretofore unrecognized abundance of distant objects that can help explain a number of other observations that otherwise remain at odds with the known Kuiper Belt, including detections of serendipitous stellar occultations, and recent results from the Student Dust Counter on-board the New Horizons spacecraft., Comment: Accepted for publication in the Planetary Science Journal, 28 pages, 7 figures, 3 tables

We report on the observation and study of the magneto-ratchet effect in a graphene-based two-dimensional metamaterial formed by a graphite gate that is placed below a graphene monolayer and patterned with an array of triangular antidots. We demonstrate that terahertz/gigahertz excitation of the metamaterial leads to sign-alternating magneto-oscillations with an amplitude that exceeds the ratchet current at zero magnetic field by orders of magnitude. The oscillations are shown to be related to the Shubnikov-de Haas effect. In addition to the giant ratchet current oscillations we detect resonant ratchet currents caused by the cyclotron and electron spin resonances. The results are well described by the developed theory considering the magneto-ratchet effect caused by the interplay of the near-field radiation and the nonuniform periodic electrostatic potential of the metamaterial controlled by the gate voltages., Comment: 10 pages, 6 figures

We present multi-frequency (5-345 GHz) and multi-resolution radio observations of 1ES 1927+654, widely considered one of the most unusual and extreme changing-look active galactic nuclei (CL-AGN). The source was first designated a CL-AGN after an optical outburst in late 2017 and has since displayed considerable changes in X-ray emission, including the destruction and rebuilding of the X-ray corona in 2019-2020. Radio observations prior to 2023 show a faint and compact radio source typical of radio-quiet AGN. Starting in February 2023, 1ES 1927+654 began exhibiting a radio flare with a steep exponential rise, reaching a peak 60 times previous flux levels, and has maintained this higher level of radio emission for over a year to date. The 5-23 GHz spectrum is broadly similar to gigahertz-peaked radio sources, which are understood to be young radio jets less than ~1000 years old. Recent high-resolution VLBA observations at 23.5 GHz now show resolved extensions on either side of the core, with a separation of ~0.15 pc, consistent with a new and mildly relativistic bipolar outflow. A steady increase in the soft X-ray band (0.3-2 keV) concurrent with the radio may be consistent with jet-driven shocked gas, though further observations are needed to test alternate scenarios. PLATO (PLAnetary Transits and Oscillations of stars) is ESA's M3 mission designed to detect and characterise extrasolar planets and perform asteroseismic monitoring of a large number of stars. PLATO will detect small planets (down to <2 R_(Earth)) around bright stars (<11 mag), including terrestrial planets in the habitable zone of solar-like stars. With the complement of radial velocity observations from the ground, planets will be characterised for their radius, mass, and age with high accuracy (5 %, 10 %, 10 % for an Earth-Sun combination respectively). PLATO will provide us with a large-scale catalogue of well-characterised small planets up to intermediate orbital periods, relevant for a meaningful comparison to planet formation theories and to better understand planet evolution. It will make possible comparative exoplanetology to place our Solar System planets in a broader context. In parallel, PLATO will study (host) stars using asteroseismology, allowing us to determine the stellar properties with high accuracy, substantially enhancing our knowledge of stellar structure and evolution. The payload instrument consists of 26 cameras with 12cm aperture each. For at least four years, the mission will perform high-precision photometric measurements. Here we review the science objectives, present PLATO's target samples and fields, provide an overview of expected core science performance as well as a description of the instrument and the mission profile at the beginning of the serial production of the flight cameras. PLATO is scheduled for a launch date end 2026. This overview therefore provides a summary of the mission to the community in preparation of the upcoming operational phases.

Spectral characterization of near-Earth asteroids (NEAs) has revealed a continuum of space-weathered states for the surfaces of S-complex NEAs, with Q-class NEAs, an S-complex subclass, most closely matching the un-weathered surfaces of ordinary chondrite meteorites. Dynamical calculations of the orbital evolution of S-complex NEAs revealed that Q-class NEAs tend to have close encounters with terrestrial planets, suggesting that planetary tides may play a role in refreshing NEA surfaces. However, the exact physical mechanism(s) that drive resurfacing through tidal encounters and the encounter distance at which these mechanisms are effective, has remained unclear. Through the lens of the upcoming (99942) Apophis encounter with Earth in 2029, we investigate the potential for surface mobilization through tidally-driven seismic shaking over short-timescales during encounter and subsequent surface slope evolution over longer-timescales driven by tumbling. We perform multi-scale numerical modeling and find that the 2029 encounter will induce short-term tidally-driven discrete seismic events that lead to high-frequency (>0.1 Hz) surface accelerations that reach magnitudes similar to Apophis' gravity, and that may be detectable by modern seismometers. It is still unclear if the shaking we model translates to widespread particle mobilization and/or lofting. We also find there will be a significant change in Apophis' tumbling spin state that could lead to longer-term surface refreshing in response to tumbling-induced surface slope changes. We propose that through these mechanisms, space-weathered S-class asteroid surfaces may become refreshed through the exposure of unweathered underlying material. Quantitative spectroscopy of molecular hydrogen has generated substantial demand, leading to the accumulation of diverse elementary-process data encompassing radiative transitions, electron-impact transitions, predissociations, and quenching. However, their rates currently available are still sparse and there are inconsistencies among those proposed by different authors. In this study, we demonstrate an experimental validation of such molecular dataset by composing a collisional-radiative model (CRM) for molecular hydrogen and comparing experimentally-obtained vibronic populations across multiple levels. From the population kinetics of molecular hydrogen, the importance of each elementary process in various parameter space is studied. In low-density plasmas (electron density $n_\mathrm{e} \lesssim 10^{17}\;\mathrm{m^{-3}}$) the excitation rates from the ground states and radiative decay rates, both of which have been reported previously, determines the excited state population. The inconsistency in the excitation rates affects the population distribution the most significantly in this parameter space. On the other hand, in higher density plasmas ($n_\mathrm{e} \gtrsim 10^{18}\;\mathrm{m^{-3}}$), the excitation rates \textit{from} excited states become important, which have never been reported in the literature, and may need to be approximated in some way. In order to validate these molecular datasets and approximated rates, we carried out experimental observations for two different hydrogen plasmas; a low-density radio-frequency (RF) heated plasma ($n_\mathrm{e}\approx 10^{16}\;\mathrm{m^{-3}}$) and the Large Helical Device (LHD) divertor plasma ($n_\mathrm{e}\gtrsim 10^{18}\;\mathrm{m^{-3}}$)... Despite their high relative abundance in our Universe, neutrinos are the least understood fundamental particles of nature. They also provide a unique system to study quantum coherence and the wavelike nature of particles in fundamental systems due to their extremely weak interaction probabilities. In fact, the quantum properties of neutrinos emitted in experimentally relevant sources are virtually unknown and the spatial extent of the neutrino wavepacket is only loosely constrained by reactor neutrino oscillation data with a spread of 13 orders of magnitude. Here, we present the first direct limits of this quantity through a new experimental concept to extract the energy width, $\sigma_{\textrm{N},E}$, of the recoil daughter nucleus emitted in the nuclear electron capture (EC) decay of $^7$Be. The final state in the EC decay process contains a recoiling $^7$Li nucleus and an electron neutrino ($\nu_e$) which are entangled at their creation. The $^7$Li energy spectrum is measured to high precision by directly embedding $^7$Be radioisotopes into a high resolution superconducting tunnel junction that is operated as a cryogenic sensor. The lower limit on the spatial uncertainty of the recoil daughter was found to be $\sigma_{\textrm{N}, x} \geq 6.2$\,pm, which implies the final-state system is localized at a scale more than a thousand times larger than the nucleus itself. From this measurement, the first direct lower limits on the spatial extent of the neutrino wavepacket were extracted using two different theoretical methods. As the development of autonomous vehicles progresses, efficient safety assurance methods become increasingly necessary. Safety assurance methods such as monitoring and scenario-based testing call for formalisation of driving scenarios. In this paper, we develop a temporal-logic formalisation of an important class of critical scenarios in the ISO standard 34502. We use signal temporal logic (STL) as a logical formalism. Our formalisation has two main features: 1) modular composition of logical formulas for systematic and comprehensive formalisation (following the compositional methodology of ISO 34502); 2) use of the RSS distance for defining danger. We find our formalisation comes with few parameters to tune thanks to the RSS distance. Riemannian Penrose Inequalities are precise geometric statements that imply that the total mass of a zero second fundamental form slice of a spacetime is at least the mass contributed by the black holes, assuming that the spacetime has nonnegative matter density everywhere. In this paper, we remove this last assumption, and prove stronger statements that the total mass is at least the mass contributed by the black holes, plus a contribution coming from the matter density along the slice. We use the first author's conformal flow to achieve this, combined with Stern's harmonic level set techniques in the first case, and spinors in the second case. Purpose: There has been substantial recent interest in magnitude-based fitting methods for estimating proton density fat fraction (PDFF) and R2* from chemical shift-encoded MRI data, since these methods can still be used when complex-based methods fail or when phase data are inaccessible or unreliable, and may also be used as a final processing step with complex-based methods. However, conventional fitting techniques are computationally expensive. Deep learning (DL)-based methods promise to accelerate parameter estimation, but previous attempts have used convolutional neural networks (CNNs), which are limited by training requirements and poor generalizability (anatomy-dependence). To address these limitations, we propose RAIDER, a voxelwise method for rapid, anatomy-independent deep learning-based PDFF and R2* estimation using multi-echo magnitude-data. Theory and Methods: RAIDER uses two multilayer perceptrons, each trained separately with simulated single-voxel multi-echo magnitude signals, to estimate PDFF and R2*. The use of two networks, each with restricted training distribution, solves the problem of degeneracy during training. During inference, the solution from one of the two networks is chosen based on likelihood. Performance and speed are investigated in a series of simulation experiments, in phantoms and in vivo. Results: RAIDER is 285-1450 times faster than conventional magnitude fitting, taking 1.4-2.3s per slice rather than 8-56minutes, and offers performance similar to conventional fitting. It produces accurate PDFF measurements in phantoms and in vivo images with different anatomies, despite having been trained only on simulation data. Conclusion: RAIDER can substantially accelerate magnitude-based PDFF and R2* estimation, whilst avoiding intrinsic limitations of CNN-based methods.

Deep optical emission-line images are presented for nine known plus three new Galactic supernova remnants (SNRs), all but one having at least one angular dimension greater than one degree. Wide-field images taken in H$\alpha$ and [O III] $\lambda$5007 reveal many new and surprising remnant structures including large remnant shock extensions and `breakout' features not seen in published optical or radio data. These images represent over 12,000 individual images totaling more than 1000 hours of exposure time taken over the last two years mainly using small aperture telescopes which detected fainter nebular line emissions than published emission-line images. During the course of this imaging program, we discovered three new SNRs, namely G107.5-5.1 (the Nereides Nebula), G209.9-8.2, and G210.5+1.3, two of which have diameters >1.5 degrees. Besides offering greater structural detail on the nine already known SNRs, a key finding of this study is the importance of [O III] emission-line imaging for mapping the complete shock emissions of Galactic SNRs., Comment: 53 pages, 40 figures, 3 tables. We compute a nonperturbative effective potential between two static fermions in light-front Yukawa theory as a Hamiltonian eigenvalue problem. Fermion pair production is suppressed, to make possible an exact analytic solution in the form of a coherent state of bosons that form clouds around the sources. The effective potential is essentially an interference term between individual clouds. The model is regulated with Pauli-Villars bosons and fermions, to achieve consistent quantization and renormalization of masses and couplings. This extends earlier work on scalar Yukawa theory where Pauli-Villars regularization did not play a central role. The key result is that the nonperturbative solution restores rotational symmetry even though the light-front formulation of Yukawa theory, with its preferred axis, appears antithetical to such a symmetry., Comment: 19 pages, no figures; RevTeX 4.2

We present very-long-baseline interferometry (VLBI) observations of the hyperactive repeating FRB 20220912A using the European VLBI Network (EVN) with an EVN-Lite setup. We detected 150 bursts from FRB 20220912A over two observing epochs in October 2022. Combining the data of these bursts allows us to localise FRB 20220912A to a precision of a few milliarcseconds, corresponding to a transverse scale of less than 10 pc at the distance of the source. The precision of this localisation shows that FRB 20220912A lies closer to the centre of its host galaxy than previously found, although still significantly offset from the host galaxy's nucleus. On arcsecond scales, FRB 20220912A is coincident with a persistent continuum radio source known from archival observations, however, we find no compact persistent emission on milliarcsecond scales. The persistent radio emission is thus likely to be from star-formation in the host galaxy.
