A sectoral perspective can help the Global Stocktake (GST) to effectively achieve its objective to inform the Parties in enhancing subsequent NDCs and in enhancing international cooperation. Specifically, granular and actionable sectoral lessons, grounded in country-driven assessments, should be identified and elaborated. To be effective, conversations on sectoral transformations need to synthesise key challenges and opportunities identified in the national analyses and link them to international enablers; focus on systemic interdependencies, involve diverse actors, and be thoroughly prepared including by pre-scoping points of convergences and divergence across transformations. We specifically recommend thatthe co-facilitators of the Technical Dialogue use their (limited) mandate to facilitate an effective conversation on sectoral transformations e.g. by organising dedicated informal seminars in between formal negotiation sessions;key systemic transformations necessary to achieve net-zero by mid-century should be spelled out and included in the final decision or political declaration of the GST; andthe political outcome of the GST should mandate follow-up processes at the regional level and encourage national-level conversations to translate the collective messages from GST into actionable and sector-specific policy recommendations.

National audience; De nos jours, dans les villes intelligentes, le développement des technologies de streaming des données et la croissance rapide des capacités de stockage permettent de faciliter la collecte de ces données et améliorer leur disponibilité et leur traitement. Ceci est autant plus vrai pour les transports en commun où les données sont collectées sur la base des journaux de bord, des capteurs d'embarquement et de débarquement, des horaires de passage en temps réel, etc.Plusieurs cas d’utilisation de ces données peuvent avoir un intérêt pour un exploitant’ : d’une part, elles peuvent servir pour restituer l’état courant du système de transport par le calcul d’indicateurs clés de performance. D'autre part, elles peuvent servir à anticiper l'état futur du réseau de transport en fournissant des prévisions et des estimations selon ces mêmes indicateurs.Dans le cadre du projet IVA (information Voyageur Augmentée) à l’IRT SystemX, nous développons un outil d’aide à la décision présentant une vue croisée et articulée entre les indicateurs observés du réseau ainsi que leur prévision à différentes échelles spatiales et temporelles. Cet outil doit permettre à l’opérateur d’analyser le réseau de transport dans différents contextes afin d’en améliorer la gestion et la planification, notamment dans des conditions de perturbation.

7th International Workshop on Sustainable Road Freight, -, -, 28-/10/2020 - 30/10/2020; Scenarios for deep decarbonation for freight transport in france. Two distinct scenarios are presented, one focused on technological progress and the other one on a transition towards a more frugal and environmentally virtuous demand for freight transport. In both cases, a goal oriented backcasting prospective analysis is derived. Scenarios are based on qualitative storylines, distinguishing a detailed sequence of mechanisms, from demand formation to GHG emissions. A quantitative approach is also developed in other to quantify decarbonations pathways in a self-consistent way.

This synthesis paper presents the objectives, approach and cross-cutting results of the Latin American Deep Decarbonization Pathways project (DDPLAC). It synthesizes and compares detailed national and sectoral deep decarbonization pathways (DDPs) to 2050 compatible with the Paris Agreement objectives and domestic development priorities in Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru. The first five countries analysed in detail the energy system and agriculture, forestry and land use (AFOLU) at a high level, while Peru focussed on a detailed analysis of AFOLU given its predominance in its GHG emissions. While economy-wide results were produced, this paper focuses on the electricity, passenger transport, and AFOLU results because of their current emissions, potential to grow, and identification of successful strategies for decarbonization (e.g. switching to clean electricity and switching to other net- zero fuels across the economy; urban planning, mode shifting, and electrification in passenger transport; and intensive sustainable agriculture, assignment of land use rights and their enforcement and afforestation in AFOLU). It also highlights where significant emissions remain in 2050, notably in industry, AFOLU, freight, and oil and gas production, all areas for future research. It also derives insights for the design of domestic policy packages and identifies priorities for international cooperation. This analysis provides critical information for Long-Term Strategies, Nationally Determined Contributions and Global Stocktaking in the context of the Paris Agreement.

Ce document constitue le « rapport descriptif » des scénarios de décarbonation profonde du transport de marchandises en France à l'horizon 2050. Il s'adresse aux différents acteurs de la société qui souhaiteraient découvrir deux histoires cohérentes des principales transformations (sociétales, organisationnelles, technologiques et politiques) menant à la décarbonation de ce secteur ainsi que leurs effets sur un ensemble de dimensions comme le nombre de tonnes transportées, la part du rail, les circulations des véhicules routiers, la demande d'énergie finale ou la place des différents vecteurs énergétiques. Il sera prochainement complété par un « rapport technique » détaillant les hypothèses sous-jacentes prises en compte.
