V článku je presentován postup obnovy barokního konventu cisterciáckého kláštera v Plasích založeného na základovém dubovém roštu a pilotách. J. B. Santini navrhl vodní systém pro konzervaci základové konstrukce konventu čistou pramenitou vodou, přiváděnou do jílových bazénů pod klášterem. Tím se udržovala dubová základová konstrukce pod vodní hladinou a byla zajištěna její konzervace. V 19. stol. došlo ke ztrátě znalostí o chování budovy, byly přerušeny všechny vodovody kritické pro stabilitu objektu a uskutečnily se mnohé nevhodné zásahy. Santini pamatoval na tuto možnost a navrhl nouzový režim, který počítal s možností ztráty všech přívodů vody. V nouzovém stavu je stahována okolní voda (splachy z komunikace a polí) do základových bazénů. Tento zdroj vody však neodpovídá požadavkům pro konzervaci základové konstrukce. V nouzovém režimu se stavba nacházela zhruba 70 let do roku 2021, kdy byl částečně obnoven přívod vhodné vody. Článek popisuje obnovu systému, vyhodnocuje její dopad na budovu porovnáním vnitřního mikroklimatu v období před a po opravě a současně ověřuje možnost vysoušení vnitřního vzduchu v konventu pomocí rozstřiku studené vody, jež v minulosti zajišťovala barokní fontánka. Na základě výsledků měření lze konstatovat pozitivní vliv opravy na základovou konstrukci kláštera a zlepšení vnitřního mikroklimatu. Stopovací zkouškou bylo identifikováno vzájemné propojení částí vodního systému., The article presents the process of restoration of the Baroque convent of the Cistercian Monastery in Plasy found on oak raft and piles. J. B. Santini designed a water system for the preservation of the foundation structure of the convent with pure spring water fed into clay basins under the monastery. This kept the oak foundation structure under water and thus ensured its preservation. In the 19th century, knowledge of the behaviour of the building was lost, all water pipes critical to the stability of the building were severed and many inappropriate interventions were made. Santini was mindful of this possibility and designed an emergency scheme that took into account the possibility of losing all water supplies. In the emergency mode, ambient water (runoff from the road and fields) is withdrawn into the foundation basins. However, this water source does not meet the requirements for conservation of the foundation structure. The structure was in emergency mode for approximately 70 years until 2021 when a suitable water supply was partially restored. This paper describes the restoration of the system, evaluates its impact on the building by comparing the indoor microclimate in the pre- and post-repair periods, and at the same time verifies the possibility of drying the indoor air in the convent by means of cold water spraying, which in the past was provided by a baroque fountain. Based on the results of the measurements, it can be concluded that the repair had a positive effect on the foundation structure of the convent and improved the indoor microclimate. A tracing test identified the mutual interconnection of parts of the water system.

The built heritage has not only a great architectural importance, but plays also a historical and cultural role. In order to preserve a building, factors influencing its decay are to be investigated. Historical characterization of the structure should be considered as well as building techniques and used materials. The causes and the severity of the deterioration are the first factors to be identified for developing of an efficient intervention plan. A gothic stone bridge in Prague, recently matter of archaeological researches by the authorities, was considered as case study. Partially hidden under Prague Castle Staircase for centuries, the bridge is characterized by accurate details and remarkable building techniques. Built during the 15th century to cross the moat, it is evidence of the first fortification of Malá Strana. Due to its historical and engineering properties, it plays an extraordinary role in the medieval heritage of the Lesser Town. Unfortunately, the bridge is currently experiencing extend deterioration mainly caused by rising dampness, water seepage and salt attack. Historical survey was carried out as well as geological and structural survey. Tests on the materials and analysis of the causes were performed. Their results, remedial works and a maintenance plan are to be presented in the following paper.
