Schwannoma is a neoplasm of the peripheral nerve sheath that develops from schwann's cells. Pleural involvement is uncommon, and typically originates from an intercostal nerve of the posterior-superior mediastinum to then extend along the parietal and mediastinal pleura. We report a case of benign schwannoma of the right hemithorax, which we believe to be the largest ever reported at this time. The clinical presentation, acute respiratory failure, was unusual. The imaging findings of this tumor are described.

Presentation of a polyethylene catheter formed by the end-to-end apposition of two tubes of different calibre, the proximal being of a wide calibre and thus easy to manipulate, and the distal being of fine calibre and very useful for hyperselective catheterisation.

A tracheal diverticulum, probably of congenital origin, was discovered accidentally during the course of a broncho-pulmonary affection. Diverticuli of the trachea are usually found during a simple systematic radiological examination, or when an established pulmonary condition is being investigated. Routine bronchography, alone, or associated with a tomograph, can be used to demonstrate its characteristics and precise location. Bronchoscopy may then be carried out in order to study the area surrounding the diverticular orifice more closely, and to establish the condition of its mucous lining. Several evolutive stages are involved in the pathogenesis of tracheal diverticuli, varying from a rudimentary bronchiole to megalotrachea, which, for many authors, is an autonomous condition because of its anatomical and pathological make-up, producing its own well-defined symptomatology.

Radiological examination of maxillofacial injuries, though difficult in patients with multiple lesions, should be rigorously conducted and be as complete as possible, depending on the results of clinical investigation. Initially, it must include at least the basic cranial projections: profile, high anteroposterior, Worms, low anteroposterior, and finally Blondeau. Secondarily, or immediately in less severe or isolated maxillofacial injuries: multiple anteroposterior projections by discontinuous scanning for better analysis of fracture lines or disjunctions, computed tomography in three planes, a panoramic radiograph, and particular projections depending on clinical findings and results of initial radiological examination. The CI scan, rapidly becoming more perfected, is essential in skull injuries with brain damage.

A schedule for radiological exploration of the temporomandibular joint is proposed which is simple, easily reproducible from one subject to another, under any circumstances, and which employs a restricted number of projections. It can also be used for complete examination of the dental arches, the mandible, and the total face, a series which cannot be dissociated either physiologically or pathologically.

The advantages of a vasoconstrictor test during standard radiologic imaging of the nasal fossae are discussed. After a brief anatomic and physiologic review, results are presented of the use of a prednazoline test in 23 patients with radiologically evident nasal obstruction. Results emphasize the diagnostic value of the use of the vasoconstrictor, which enables precise study of morphology of the nasal fossae and, in certain cases, their functional exploration.
