1. A Study on the Electric Characteristics of the Trench Gate Field Stop Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor Through Two-Step Field Stop

Abstract: Insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) element is an electrically conductive device with Bipolar junction transistor (BJT) output and Metal Oxide Silicon Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET) input. The IGBTs is a power semiconductor device that aims for high breakdown voltage, low on-state voltage, fast switching and reliability. This paper is, the experiment was conducted with a two-step field stop, IGBT instead of a traditional one step field stop. In order to minimize the energy loss caused by the trade-off relationship between breakdown voltage and the on-state voltage drop, the experiment was conducted by forming a two-step field stop. Through concentration control between steps, breakdown voltage, On-state Voltage drop and turn off time could be adjusted in detail, and efficient characteristic values could be obtained accordingly. Experiments have confirmed that the On state voltage drop and turn-off time, in particular, can be adjusted by small failure voltage loss upon change in the first stage field stop.

Abstract: We present measurements of CP-violating parameters in $B^0(\bar{B}{}^0) \to \eta^\prime K_S^0$ and $B^{\pm} \to \eta' K^{\pm}$ decays based on a 41.8 fb$^{-1}$ data sample collected at the $\Upsilon(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^{+} e^{-}$ collider. We fully reconstruct one neutral $B$ meson as a $B^0(\bar{B}{}^0) \to \eta^\prime K_S^0$ CP eigenstate and identify the flavor of the accompanying $B$ from its decay products. From the distribution of time intervals between pairs of $B$ meson decay points, we obtain the CP-violating asymmetry parameters ${\mathcal S}_{\eta^\prime K_S^0} = 0.28\pm0.55(stat)^{+0.07}_{-0.08}(syst)$, and ${\mathcal A}_{\eta^\prime K_S^0} = 0.13\pm0.32(stat)^{+0.09}_{-0.06}(syst)$. We also reconstruct charged $B^{\pm} \to \eta^\prime K^{\pm}$ decays and determine a direct-CP violating asymmetry value of ${\mathcal A}_{\eta^\prime K^\pm}=(-1.5\pm7.0(stat)\pm0.9(syst))%$.

Abstract: The B -> D^{(*)} K^- K^{(*)0} decays have been observed for the first time. The branching fractions of the B -> D^{(*)} K^- K^{(*)0} decay modes are measured. Significant signals are found for the B -> D^{(*)} K^- K^{*0} and B^- -> D^0 K^- K^0_S decay modes. The invariant mass and polarization distributions for the K^-K^{*0} and K^-K^0_S subsystems have been studied. For the K^-K^{*0} sybsystem these distributions agree well with those expected for two-body B -> D^{(*)} a_1^-(1260) decays, with a_1^-(1260) -> K^- K^{*0}. The analysis was done using 29.4 fb^{-1} of data collected with the Belle detector at the e^+ e^- asymmetric collider KEKB.

Abstract: This paper describes a study of B meson decays to the pseudoscalar-vector final state \rho\pi using 31.9\times 10^6 B\bar{B} events collected with the Belle detector at KEKB. The branching fractions B(B^+ \to \rho^0\pi^+) = (8.0^{+2.3+0.7}_{-2.0-0.7}) \times 10^{-6} and B(B^0 -> \rho^{+-} \pi^{-+}) = (20.8^{+6.0+2.8}_{-6.3-3.1}) \times 10^{-6} are obtained. In addition, a 90% confidence level upper limit of B(B^0 \to \rho^0\pi^0) < 5.3 \times 10^{-6}is reported.

Abstract: The production of the \chi_{c2} charmonium state in two-photon collisions has been measured with the Belle detector at the KEKB e^+e^- collider. A clear signal for \chi_{c2} --> \gamma J/\psi, J/\psi --> l^+l^- is observed in a 32.6fb^{-1} data sample accumulated at center-of-mass energies near 10.6GeV, and the product of its two-photon decay width and branching fraction is determined to be \Gamma_{\gamma\gamma}(\chi_{c2})B(\chi_{c2} --> \gamma J/\psi) B(J/\psi --> l^+l^-)= 13.5 +/- 1.3(stat.) +/- 1.1(syst.)eV., Comment: 16 pages, 5 figures, to be submitted to Phys. Abstract: We present a measurement of the branching fraction for the semileptonic B decay B 0 →D + l − ν , where l− can be either an electron or a muon. We find Γ( B 0 →D + l − ν )=(13.79±0.76±2.51) ns −1 , and the resulting branching fraction B ( B 0 →D + l − ν )=(2.13±0.12±0.39)% , where the first error is statistical and the second systematic. We also investigate the B 0 →D + l − ν form factor and the implications of the result for |Vcb|. From a fit to the differential decay distribution we obtain the rate normalization |Vcb|FD(1)=(4.11±0.44±0.52)×10−2. Using a theoretical calculation of FD(1), the Cabibbo–Kobayashi–Maskawa matrix element |Vcb|=(4.19±0.45±0.53±0.30)×10−2 is obtained, where the last error comes from the theoretical uncertainty of FD(1). The results are based on a data sample of 10.2fb−1 recorded at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e− collider.

Abstract: We present a measurement of the Cabibbo–Kobayashi–Maskawa (CKM) matrix element |Vcb| using a 10.2 fb−1 data sample recorded at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric e+e− storage ring. By extrapolating the differential decay width of the B 0 →D ∗+ e − ν decay to the kinematic limit at which the D ∗+ is at rest with respect to the B 0 , we extract the product of |Vcb| with the normalization of the decay form factor F(1), |Vcb|F(1)=(3.54±0.19±0.18)×10−2, where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. A value of |Vcb|=(3.88±0.21±0.20±0.19)×10−2 is obtained using a theoretical calculation of F(1), where the third error is due to the theoretical uncertainty in the value of F(1). The branching fraction B ( B 0 →D ∗+ e − ν ) is measured to be (4.59±0.23±0.40)×10−2.

Abstract: We report a determination of the ${B}_{d}^{0}\ensuremath{-}{\overline{B}}_{d}^{0}$ mixing parameter $\ensuremath{\Delta}{m}_{d}$ based on the time evolution of dilepton yields in $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(4S)$ decays. The measurement is based on a $5.9{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ data sample collected by the Belle detector at KEKB. The proper-time difference distributions for same-sign and opposite-sign dilepton events are simultaneously fitted to an expression containing $\ensuremath{\Delta}{m}_{d}$ as a free parameter. Using both muons and electrons, we obtain $\ensuremath{\Delta}{m}_{d}\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}=\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}0.463\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.008(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.016(\mathrm{syst}){\mathrm{ps}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$. This is the first determination of $\ensuremath{\Delta}{m}_{d}$ from time evolution measurements at the $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(4S)$. We also place limits on possible $\mathrm{CPT}$ violations.

Abstract: We present a measurement of the standard model $\mathrm{CP}$ violation parameter $\mathrm{sin}2{\ensuremath{\varphi}}_{1}$ (also known as $\mathrm{sin}2\ensuremath{\beta}$) based on a $10.5{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ data sample collected at the $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collider. One neutral $B$ meson is reconstructed in the $J/\ensuremath{\psi}{K}_{S}$, $\ensuremath{\psi}(2S){K}_{S}$, ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c1}{K}_{S}$, ${\ensuremath{\eta}}_{c}{K}_{S}$, $J/\ensuremath{\psi}{K}_{L}$, or $J/\ensuremath{\psi}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ $\mathrm{CP}$-eigenstate decay channel and the flavor of the accompanying $B$ meson is identified from its charged particle decay products. From the asymmetry in the distribution of the time interval between the two $B$-meson decay points, we determine $\mathrm{sin}2{\ensuremath{\varphi}}_{1}{\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}=\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}0.58}_{\ensuremath{-}0.34}^{+0.32}(\mathrm{stat}{)}_{\ensuremath{-}0.10}^{+0.09}(\mathrm{syst})$.

Abstract: GDSII is a data format of the circuit design file for producing semiconductor. GDSII is also used as a transfer format for fabricating photo mask as well. As design rules are getting smaller and RET (Resolution Enhancement Technology) is getting more complicated, the time of converting GDSII to a mask data format has been increased, which influences the period of mask production. Photo mask shops all over the world are widely using computer clusters which are connected through a network, that is, called distributed computing method, to reduce the converting time. Commonly computing resource for conversion is assigned based on the input file size. However, the result of experiments showed that the input file size was improper to predict the computing resource usage. In this paper, we propose the methodology of artificial intelligence with considering the properties of GDSII file to handle circuit design files more efficiently. The conversion time will be optimized by controlling the hardware resource for data conversion as long as the conversion time is predictable through analyzing the design data. Neural networks are used to predict the conversion time for this research. In this paper, the application of neural networks for the time prediction will be discussed and experimental results will be shown with comparing to statistical model based approaches.

Abstract: As the critical dimension (CD) becomes smaller, various resolution enhancement techniques (RET) are widely adopted. In developing sub-100nm devices, the complexity of optical proximity correction (OPC) is severely increased and applied OPC layers are expanded to non-critical layers. The transformation of designed pattern data by OPC operation causes complexity, which cause runtime overheads to following steps such as mask data preparation (MDP), and collapse of existing design hierarchy. Therefore, many mask shops exploit the distributed computing method in order to reduce the runtime of mask data preparation rather than exploit the design hierarchy. Distributed computing uses a cluster of computers that are connected to local network system. However, there are two things to limit the benefit of the distributing computing method in MDP. First, every sequential MDP job, which uses maximum number of available CPUs, is not efficient compared to parallel MDP job execution due to the input data characteristics. Second, the runtime enhancement over input cost is not sufficient enough since the scalability of fracturing tools is limited. In this paper, we will discuss optimum load balancing environment that is useful in increasing the uptime of distributed computing system by assigning appropriate number of CPUs for each input design data. We will also describe the distributed processing (DP) parameter optimization to obtain maximum throughput in MDP job processing.

Abstract: In this paper, the influence of dose modulation on CD trend by using electron beam exposure model has beeninvestigated and simulated. To predict CD trend, we developed an analysis program, which shows theexposed energy profile and the corrected CD distribution in mask. First, it calculates the factor of foggingeffect correction (D1) from pattern density distribution with the assumption that fogging effect depends on onlypattern density. And then it calculates the modified dose for correcting both proximity and fogging effect.From dose distribution, the corrected CD is calculated analytically by using e-beam lithography model: seeFigure 1 . Abstract: We have performed a search for the lepton-flavor-violating decay tau -> mu gamma using a data sample of 86.3fb^{-1} accumulated by the Belle detector at KEK. No evidence for a signal is seen, and we set an upper limit for the branching fraction of B(tau -> mu gamma) < 3.1 x 10^{-7} at the 90% confidence level.

Abstract: We report evidence for the decay $B^0 \to \pi^0 \pi^0$. The analysis is based on a data sample of 152 million $B\bar{B}$ pairs collected at the $\Upsilon(4s)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB $e^+ e^-$ storage ring. We find $25.6^{+ 9.3}_{-8.4}(stat)^{+1.6}_{-1.4}(syst)$ $B^0 \to \pi^0 \pi^0$ signal events with a significance of 3.4 standard deviations. We measure the branching fraction to be ($1.7 \pm 0.6 (stat) \pm 0.2 (syst))*10^{-6}$.

Abstract: We report the observation of the flavor-changing neutral current decay B-->K*l(+l-) and an improved measurement of the decay B-->Kl(+l-), where l represents an electron or a muon, with a data sample of 140 fb(-1) accumulated at the Y(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at KEKB. The results for the branching fractions are B(B-->K*l(+l-))=(11.5(-2.4)(+2.6)+/-0.8+/-0.2)x10(-7) and B(B-->Kl(+l-))=(4.8(-0.9)(+1.0)+/-0.3+/-0.1)x10(-7), where the first error is statistical, the second is systematic and the third is from model dependence.

Abstract: We report the observation of a narrow charmoniumlike state produced in the exclusive decay process B+/--->K+/-pi(+)pi(-)J/psi. This state, which decays into pi(+)pi(-)J/psi, has a mass of 3872.0+/-0.6(stat)+/-0.5(syst) MeV, a value that is very near the M(D0)+M(D(*0)) mass threshold. The results are based on an analysis of 152M B-Bmacr; events collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance in the Belle detector at the KEKB collider. The signal has a statistical significance that is in excess of 10sigma.

Abstract: We have performed a search for the lepton-flavor-violating decay tau--microgamma using a data sample of 86.3 fb(-1) accumulated by the Belle detector at KEK. No evidence for a signal is seen, and we set an upper limit for the branching fraction of B(tau--microgamma)3.1 x 10(-7) at the 90% confidence level.

Abstract: We report evidence for the decay B0--pi(0)pi(0). The analysis is based on a data sample of 152x10(6) BBmacr; pairs collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) storage ring. We detect a signal for B0--pi(0)pi(0) with a significance of 3.4 standard deviations, and measure the branching fraction to be [1.7+/-0.6(stat)+/-0.2(syst)]x10(-6).

Abstract: We report studies of the Cabibbo-suppressed decay B+/- --> DCPK+/-, where D-CP denotes CP eigenstates of the D-0 - (D) over bar (0) system. The analysis is based on a 29.1 fb(-1) sample collected at the Y(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric e(+)e(-) storage ring. We measure ratios of branching fractions, relative to Cabibbo-favored B+/--->D(CP)pi+/-, of B>(B- --> D1K-)/B(B- --> D(1)pi(-)) = 0.125 +/-0.036 +/- 0.010 and B(B- --> D2K-)/B(B- --> D(2)pi(-)) = 0.119 +/- 0.028 +/- 0.006; the index 1 (2) denotes the CP = +1 (-1) eigenstate. We also extract the partial rate asymmetries for B+/- --> DCPK+/-, finding A(1) = 0.29 +/- 0.26 +/- 0.05 and A(2) = -0.22 +/- 0.24 +/- 0.04.

Abstract: We report the first measurement of the branching fraction for the inclusive decay B → X s l + l - , where l is either an electron or a muon, and X s is a hadronic recoil system that contains an s quark. We analyzed a data sample of 65.4 x 10 6 B meson pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e + e - asymmetric-energy collider. We find B(B → X s l + l - ) = [6.1 ′ 1.4(stat) + 1 . 4 - 1 . 1 (syst)] × 10 - 6 for dilepton masses greater than 0.2 GeV/c 2 .

Abstract: We present a measurement of the B0-Bmacr;(0) mixing parameter Deltam(d) using neutral B meson pairs in a 29.1 fb(-1) data sample collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. We exclusively reconstruct one neutral B meson in the semileptonic B0-->D(*-)l(+)nu decay mode and identify the flavor of the accompanying B meson from its decay products. From the distribution of the time intervals between the two flavor-tagged B meson decay points, we obtain Deltam(d)=(0.494+/-0.012+/-0.015) ps(-1), where the first error is statistical and the second error is systematic.

Abstract: We report the first observation of a B meson decay that is not accessible by a direct spectator process. The channel B(0)-->D(+)(s)K- is found in a sample of 85 x 10(6) BB; events, collected with the Belle detector at KEKB, with a branching fraction B(B(0)-->D(+)(s)K-)=(4.6(+1.2)(-1.1)+/-1.3) x 10(-5). We also obtain evidence for the B0-->D(+)(s)pi(-) decay with branching fraction B(B0-->D(+)(s)pi(-))=(2.4(+1.0)(-0.8)+/-0.7) x 10(-5). This value may be used to extract a model-dependent value of |V(ub)|.

Abstract: We report the observation of prompt $J/\ensuremath{\psi}$ via double $c\overline{c}$ production from the ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ continuum. In this process one $c\overline{c}$ pair fragments into a $J/\ensuremath{\psi}$ meson while the remaining pair either produces a charmonium state or fragments into open charm. Both cases have been experimentally observed. We find cross sections of $\ensuremath{\sigma}[{e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}J/\ensuremath{\psi}{\ensuremath{\eta}}_{c}(\ensuremath{\gamma})]\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}\mathcal{B}({\ensuremath{\eta}}_{c}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\ge}4\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{\text{charged}})=({0.033}_{\ensuremath{-}0.006}^{+0.007}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.009)\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{p}\mathrm{b}$ and $\ensuremath{\sigma}({e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}J/\ensuremath{\psi}{D}^{*+}X)=({0.53}_{\ensuremath{-}0.15}^{+0.19}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.14)\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{p}\mathrm{b}$ and infer $\ensuremath{\sigma}({e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}J/\ensuremath{\psi}c\overline{c})/\ensuremath{\sigma}({e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}J/\ensuremath{\psi}X)={0.59}_{\ensuremath{-}0.13}^{+0.15}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.12$. These results are obtained from a $46.2\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{f}\mathrm{b}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ data sample collected near the $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(4S)$ resonance, with the Belle detector at the KEKB collider.

Abstract: We report the observation of a narrow peak in the ${K}_{S}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$ invariant mass distribution in a sample of exclusive $B\ensuremath{\rightarrow}K{K}_{S}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$ decays collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collider. The measured mass of the peak is $M=3654\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}6(\mathrm{s}\mathrm{t}\mathrm{a}\mathrm{t})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}8(\mathrm{s}\mathrm{y}\mathrm{s}\mathrm{t})\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{M}\mathrm{e}\mathrm{V}/{c}^{2}$, and we place a 90% confidence level upper limit on the width of $\ensuremath{\Gamma}l55\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{M}\mathrm{e}\mathrm{V}/{c}^{2}$. The properties agree with heavy-quark potential model expectations for the ${\ensuremath{\eta}}_{c}(2S)$ meson, the $n=2$ singlet $S$ charmonium state.

Abstract: We report the first measurement of the branching fraction for the inclusive decay B--X(s)l(+)l(-), where l is either an electron or a muon, and X(s) is a hadronic recoil system that contains an s quark. We analyzed a data sample of 65.4 x 10(6) B meson pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) asymmetric-energy collider. We find B(B--X(s)l(+)l(-))=[6.1 +/-1.4(stat) +1.4-1.1(syst)] x 10(-6) for dilepton masses greater than 0.2 GeV/c(2).

35. Observation of D+(s)K- and evidence for D+(s)pi- final states in neutral B decays

Abstract: We report the first observation of a B meson decay that is not accessible by a direct spectator process. The channel B(0)--D(+)(s)K- is found in a sample of 85 x 10(6) BB; events, collected with the Belle detector at KEKB, with a branching fraction B(B(0)--D(+)(s)K-)=(4.6(+1.2)(-1.1)+/-1.3) x 10(-5). We also obtain evidence for the B0--D(+)(s)pi(-) decay with branching fraction B(B0--D(+)(s)pi(-))=(2.4(+1.0)(-0.8)+/-0.7) x 10(-5). This value may be used to extract a model-dependent value of |V(ub)|.

Abstract: We report the results of a study of two-body B meson decays to the complete set of K pi, pi pi, and K K final states. The study is performed on a data sample of 31.7 +/- 0.3 million B B-bar events recorded on the Upsilon(4S) resonance by the Belle experiment at KEKB. We observe significant signals in all K pi final states and in the pi+ pi- and pi+ pi0 final states. We set limits on the pi0 pi0 and K K final states. Abstract: We present a measurement of $CP$-violating asymmetries in ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ decays based on a $41.8\text{ }{\mathrm{f}\mathrm{b}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ data sample collected at the $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collider. We fully reconstruct one neutral $B$ meson as a ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ $CP$ eigenstate and identify the flavor of the accompanying $B$ meson from its decay products. From the asymmetry in the distribution of the time intervals between the two $B$ meson decay points, we obtain the $CP$-violating asymmetry parameters ${\mathcal{S}}_{\ensuremath{\pi}\ensuremath{\pi}}=\ensuremath{-}{1.21}_{\ensuremath{-}0.27}^{+0.38}(\mathrm{s}\mathrm{t}\mathrm{a}\mathrm{t}{)}_{\ensuremath{-}0.13}^{+0.16}(\mathrm{s}\mathrm{y}\mathrm{s}\mathrm{t})$ and ${\mathcal{A}}_{\ensuremath{\pi}\ensuremath{\pi}}=+{0.94}_{\ensuremath{-}0.31}^{+0.25}(\mathrm{s}\mathrm{t}\mathrm{a}\mathrm{t})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.09(\mathrm{s}\mathrm{y}\mathrm{s}\mathrm{t})$.

Abstract: We present a measurement of the B0-Bmacr;(0) mixing parameter Deltam(d) using neutral B meson pairs in a 29.1 fb(-1) data sample collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. We exclusively reconstruct one neutral B meson in the semileptonic B0--D(*-)l(+)nu decay mode and identify the flavor of the accompanying B meson from its decay products. From the distribution of the time intervals between the two flavor-tagged B meson decay points, we obtain Deltam(d)=(0.494+/-0.012+/-0.015) ps(-1), where the first error is statistical and the second error is systematic.

Abstract: We report studies of the Cabibbo-suppressed decay B+/---D(CP)K+/-, where D(CP) denotes CP eigenstates of the D0-D0; system. The analysis is based on a 29.1 fb(-1) sample collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric e(+)e(-) storage ring. We measure ratios of branching fractions, relative to Cabibbo-favored B+/---D(CP)pi(+/-), of B(B---D1K-)/B(B---D1pi(-))=0.125+/-0.036+/-0.010 and B(B---D2K-)/B(B---D2pi(-))=0.119+/-0.028+/-0.006; the index 1 (2) denotes the CP=+1 (-1) eigenstate. We also extract the partial rate asymmetries for B+/---D(CP)K+/-, finding A(1)=0.29+/-0.26+/-0.05 and A(2)=-0.22+/-0.24+/-0.04.

Abstract: We report the observation of prompt J/psi via double cc; production from the e+e- continuum. In this process one cc; pair fragments into a J/psi meson while the remaining pair either produces a charmonium state or fragments into open charm. Both cases have been experimentally observed. We find cross sections of sigma[e+e- --J/psieta(c)(gamma)]xB(eta(c)--or=4 charged)=(0.033(+0.007)(-0.006)+/-0.009) pb and sigma(e+e- --J/psiD(*+)X)=(0.53(+0.19)(-0.15)+/-0.14) pb and infer sigma(e+e- --J/psicc;)/sigma(e+e- --J/psiX)=0.59(+0.15)(-0.13)+/-0.12. These results are obtained from a 46.2 fb(-1) data sample collected near the Upsilon(4S) resonance, with the Belle detector at the KEKB collider.

Abstract: We report the observation of a narrow peak in the K(S)K-pi(+) invariant mass distribution in a sample of exclusive B--KK(S)K-pi(+) decays collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric e(+)e(-) collider. The measured mass of the peak is M=3654+/-6(stat)+/-8(syst) MeV/c(2), and we place a 90% confidence level upper limit on the width of Gamma55 MeV/c(2). The properties agree with heavy-quark potential model expectations for the eta(c)(2S) meson, the n=2 singlet S charmonium state.

Abstract: The B meson decay modes B--Dpp; and B--D(*)pp; have been studied using 29.4 fb(-1) of data collected with the Belle detector at KEKB. The B;(0)--D(0)pp; and B;(0)--D(*0)pp; decays have been observed for the first time with branching fractions B(B;(0)--D(0)pp;)=(1.18+/-0.15+/-0.16)x10(-4) and B(B;(0)--D(*0)pp;)=(1.20(+0.33)(-0.29)+/-0.21)x10(-4). No signal has been found for the B+--D(+)pp; and B+--D(*+)pp; decay modes, and the corresponding upper limits at 90% C.L. are presented.

Abstract: We report observations of radiative B meson decays into the K+pi(-)gamma and K+pi(-)pi(+)gamma final states. In the B0--K+pi(-)gamma channel, we present evidence for decays via an intermediate tensor meson state with a branching fraction of B(B0--K(*)(2)(1430)(0)gamma)=[1.3+/-0.5(stat)+/-0.1(syst)]x10(-5). We measure the branching fraction B(B+--K+pi(-)pi(+)gamma)=[2.4+/-0.5(stat) +0.4-0.2(syst)]x10(-5), in which the B+--K(*0)pi(+)gamma and B+--K+rho(0)gamma channels dominate. The analysis is based on a data set of 29.4 fb(-1) recorded by the Belle experiment at the KEKB collider.

Abstract: The branching fractions and the decay amplitudes of B -> J/psi K^* decays are measured in a 29.4/fb data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB electron-positron collider. The decay amplitudes of helicity states of the J/psi K^* system are determined from the full angular distribution of the final state particles in the transversity basis. The branching fractions are measured to be (1.29\pm0.05\pm0.13) \times 10^{-3} for neutral mesons and (1.28\pm0.07\pm0.14) \times 10^{-3} for charged mesons. The measured longitudinal and transverse (perpendicular to the transversity plane) amplitudes are |A_0|^2 = 0.62\pm0.02\pm0.03 and |A_{\perp}|^2 = 0.19\pm0.02\pm0.03, respectively. The value of |A_{\perp}|^2 shows that the CP even component dominates in the B^0 \to J/\psi K^{*0}(K_S\pi^0) decay., Comment: 17 pages, 3 figures, 5 tables, to appear in Phys. Lett. B

Abstract: We report the results of a search for the rare baryonic decays $B^0 \to p\bar{p}$, $\Lambda\bar{\Lambda}$, and $B^+ \to p\bar{\Lambda}$. The analysis is based on a data set of $31.7\times 10^6 B\bar{B}$ events collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB $e^+e^-$ collider. No statistically significant signals are found, and we set branching fraction upper limits ${\mathcal B}(B^0 \to p\bar{p}) < 1.2 \times 10^{-6}$, ${\mathcal B}(B^0 \to \Lambda\bar{\Lambda}) < 1.0 \times 10^{-6}$, and ${\mathcal B}(B^+ \to p\bar{\Lambda}) < 2.2 \times 10^{-6}$ at the 90% confidence level., Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures and 1 table. Abstract: We report the observation of the decay mode $B^{\pm}\to p \bar{p} K^{\pm}$ based on an analysis of 29.4 fb$^{-1}$ of data collected by the Belle detector at KEKB. This is the first example of a $b\to s$ transition with baryons in the final state. The $p \bar{p}$ mass spectrum in this decay is inconsistent with phase space and is peaked at low mass. The branching fraction for this decay is measured to be ${\cal B}(B^{\pm}\to p \bar{p} K^{\pm}) =(4.3^{+1.1}_{-0.9}({\rm stat})\pm 0.5({\rm syst}))\times 10^{-6}.$ We also report upper limits for the decays $B^0\to p \bar{p} K_S$ and $B^{\pm}\to p \bar{p} \pi^{\pm}$.

Abstract: We report a measurement of the ${D}^{0}\ensuremath{-}{\overline{D}}^{0}$ mixing parameter ${y}_{\mathrm{CP}}$ using $23.4{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of data collected near the $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at KEKB. ${y}_{\mathrm{CP}}$ is measured from the lifetime difference of ${D}^{0}$ mesons decaying into the ${K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$ state and the $\mathrm{CP}$-even eigenstate ${K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{K}^{+}$. We find ${y}_{\mathrm{CP}}\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}=\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}(\ensuremath{-}0.5\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}{1.0}_{\ensuremath{-}0.8}^{+0.7})\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}2}$, where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic, corresponding to a $95%$ confidence interval $\ensuremath{-}0.030l{y}_{\mathrm{CP}}l0.020$.

Abstract: We present a measurement of CP-violating asymmetries in B0--pi(+)pi(-) decays based on a 41.8 fb(-1) data sample collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. We fully reconstruct one neutral B meson as a B0--pi(+)pi(-) CP eigenstate and identify the flavor of the accompanying B meson from its decay products. From the asymmetry in the distribution of the time intervals between the two B meson decay points, we obtain the CP-violating asymmetry parameters S(pipi)=-1.21(+0.38)(-0.27)(stat)+0.16-0.13(syst) and A(pipi)=+0.94(+0.25)(-0.31)(stat)+/-0.09(syst).

Abstract: This report describes an observation of mixing-induced CP violation and a measurement of the CP violation parameter, sin(2phi_1), with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric e+e- collider. Using a data sample of 29.1 fb-1 recorded on the Upsilon(4S) resonance that contains 31.3 million BBbar pairs, we reconstruct decays of neutral B mesons to the following CP eigenstates: J/psi K_S^0, psi(2S) K_S^0, chi_c1 K_S^0, eta_c K_S^0, J/psi K_L^0 and J/psi K^*0. The flavor of the accompanying B meson is identified by combining information from primary and secondary leptons, K+/- mesons, lambda baryons, slow and fast pions. The proper-time interval between the two B meson decays is determined from the distance between the two decay vertices measured with a silicon vertex detector. The result sin(2phi_1) = 0.99 +/- 0.14(stat) +/- 0.06(syst) is obtained by applying a maximum likelihood fit to the 1137 candidate events. We conclude that there is large CP violation in the neutral B meson system. A zero value for sin(2phi_1) is ruled out by more than six standard deviations., 25 pages, 16 figures, accepted for publication in Physical Review D

Abstract: We report the observation of the decay mode B(+/-) --p(-)pK(+/-)based on an analysis of 29.4 fb(-1) of data collected by the Belle detector at KEKB. This is the first example of a b--s transition with baryons in the final state. The p(-)p mass spectrum in this decay is inconsistent with phase space and is peaked at low mass. The branching fraction for this decay is measured to be B(B+/---p(-)pK+/-) = [4.3(+1.1)(-0.9)(stat)+/-0.5(syst)]x 10(-6). We also report upper limits for the decays B(0)--p(-)pK(S) and B(+/-)--p(-)p pi(+/-).
