Abstract

With the rapid development of aviation industry, the study of novel titanium (Ti) alloy with superior mechanical properties is of great significance. In this paper, a newly developed Ti-6Al-2Mo-2Sn-2Zr-2Cr-2V alloy was fabricated by laser directed energy deposition (L-DED), which exhibits coarse β columnar grains containing the basket-weave structure knitted with α phases and β phases. After solution and aging heat-treatment, the fine secondary α phase precipitates, which leads to the increase in microhardness. The as-deposited sample exhibits the tensile strength of 1025 MPa and the elongation of 6.0%. With solution temperature increasing, the strength increases but the plasticity first increases and then decreases. The fracture mechanism shows a mixed of ductile and brittle fracture. The average impact toughness of as-deposited sample in building direction is 40.9 J cm ^−2 higher than that (23.4 J cm ^−2 ) in direction perpendicular to building direction. After solution and aging heat-treatment, the impact toughness improves significantly.

Abstract

Optical property parameters play an important role in ocean colour studies. As a key variable, the absorption coefficient is of great significance for calculating the content of each component in water and simulating the physical, chemical and biological properties of water. The inversion algorithms mainly include empirical model, semi-analytical model and neural network model. In this study, we focused on the QAA_V6, which is the newest version of Quasi-Analytical Algorithm (QAA). It is necessary to test the QAA_V6 model in different conditions. IOCCG data set is used to verify the accuracy of QAA_V6. Additionally, MODIS data of case 1 waters and case 2 waters were selected. After extraction and matching, the data was finally imported into QAA_V6 model to calculate the absorption coefficient with a R2 of 0.999 in both case 1 waters and case 2 waters, thus the QAA_V6 model showed a high accuracy and robust applicability in the inversion of inherent optical properties. Subsequently, it can be further verified for the waters in more complicated areas, providing a firm foundation for implementing QAA into the research of ocean colour remote sensing.

Abstract

Bathymetry is a key variable in ocean monitoring and measurement research. It becomes more and more important for development of rapid method to invert shallow sea water depth. In this study, a water depth inversion method based on multi-band model is established to analyze the relationship between different bands of Landsat 8 OLI multi-spectral and measured data. The average absolute error of the model is 1.48m at 10–20m water depth and the average relative error is 13.12%. The water depth inversion accuracy under normal conditions are achieved, indicating that the model will have a promising practical application in the future.

12. Use of antidepressants following hysterectomy with or without oophorectomy: A national sample in the US

Abstract

Hysterectomy is one of the most common gynecological surgeries conducted around the world. Previous studies reported inconsistent results on depressive symptoms experienced after hysterectomy. This study explored the association between hysterectomy with or without oophorectomy and the use of antidepressants.This cross-sectional study included 4888 subjects between 20 and 80 years old who participated in the US National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) between 2015 and 2018. The associations between hysterectomy with or without oophorectomy and the use of antidepressants were estimated using multivariable logistic regression models.There was a positive relationship between hysterectomy, both with and without oophorectomy, and the use of antidepressants after adjusting for all potential confounders (OR = 2.13, 95 % CI = 1.43-3.17, p = 0.000; OR = 2.04, 95 % CI = 1.35-3.06 p = 0.001). In the subgroup analysis stratified by race, a positive association between hysterectomy without oophorectomy was found among non-Hispanic white women (OR = 1.89, 95 % CI = 1.04-3.44, p = 0.038) and women of other races (OR = 3.14, 95 % CI = 1.30-7.56, p = 0.010), and a positive association between hysterectomy with oophorectomy was found among non-Hispanic black women (OR = 3.09, 95 % CI = 1.15-8.27, p = 0.024). However, no association was found among non-Hispanic black and Mexican American women who had undergone hysterectomy with oophorectomy, and it was not reported in women of non-Hispanic white, Mexican American or other race who underwent hysterectomy with oophorectomy.This study suggested that hysterectomy was significantly associated with antidepressant use, but the extent of the associations may vary by race.

Abstract

This study puts forward a new concept, "population urbanization level forecast - driving factor analysis - urban spatial planning analysis" for achieving efficient and intensive development of urbanization considering human-land harmony. We analyzed big data for national economic and social development, studied the development trends of population urbanization and its influencing factors using the grey system model in Chengmai county of Hainan province, China. In turn, we calculated the population of Chengmai coming years based on the forecasting urbanization rate and the corresponding amount of urban construction land, and evaluated the urban spatial planning with GIS spatial analysis method in the study area. The result shows that the proposed concept is feasible for evaluation of urban spatial planning, and is meaningful for guiding the rational distribution of urban space, controlling the scale of development, improving the quality of urbanization and thus promoting highly-efficient and intensive use of limited land resource.

Abstract

We studied the broadband optical conductivity of CaMnBi2, a material with two-dimensional Dirac electronic bands, and found that both components of the intraband conductivity follow a universal power law as a function of frequency at low temperatures. This conductivity scaling differs from the Drude(-like) behavior, generally expected for free carriers, but matches the predictions for the intraband response of an electronic system in a quantum critical region. Since no other indications of quantum criticality are reported for CaMnBi2 so far, the cause of the observed unusual scaling remains an open question.

Abstract

The incidence of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is increasing year by year in the world, which has a greater impact on the quality of life of patients. In the past, symptomatic treatment was used in clinical practice, but the overall effect is still not good. Multiple clinical studies have demonstrated the efficacy of pirfenidone in the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis; however, adverse reactions have been reported. We, therefore, systematically evaluated the effectiveness and safety of pirfenidone in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.Relevant studies were retrieved from the Embase, PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Chinese Biomedical Literature (CBM), Wanfang and Weipu databases between January 1999 and May 2020, including the keywords "pirfenidone" and "idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis", were included in our systematic review. Review Manager 5.4 software was used for data synthesis, and analyses of publication bias and sensitivity.Our systematic review included 13 studies involving a total of 13247 patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Pirfenidone was associated with reduced declines in vital capacity (VC) and forced vital capacity (FVC) from baseline in patients with hermansky-pudlak syndrome (HPS)-related pulmonary fibrosis and to moderate idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Pirfenidone treatment was associated with lower reductions in FVC, lower reductions in 6-minute walking test distance, lower decreases in minimum oxygen saturation during the 6-minute walking test, lower all-cause death, lower relative risk of IPF-related death and increased progression-free survival compared to placebo. Progression-free survival was significantly longer in the pirfenidone group. The incidence of gastrointestinal, skin, nervous system, and liver function-related adverse events was significantly higher in the pirfenidone group compared to the control group.Pirfenidone has efficacy in delaying the progression of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Pirfenidone is well-tolerated by the majority of patients; however, mild adverse reactions related to the gastrointestinal tract, skin, nervous system, and liver function are common. Overall, Pirfenidone may be an effective and well-tolerated treatment option for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

Abstract

Considering weak stability, difficult separation, poor mechanical property and thermal strength of polysaccharide materials, magnetic graphene oxide/alginate beads (mGO/CA) were synthesized for competitive adsorption of MB and Cu2+ in single and binary aqueous solution. The characteristics results of FTIR, XRD, and SEM indicated that the mGO/CA was successfully fabricated. The adsorption of MB and Cu2+ on mGO/CA was studied systematically in single and binary systems. For single system, the pH affected the adsorption of MB and Cu2+ on mGO/CA and the optimized pH value was observed at 5.0. In single and binary systems, the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Langmuir isotherm model were found to describe the MB and Cu2+ adsorption well; the diffusion process with two stages for MB and Cu2+ can describe the adsorption process. The adsorption capacity of MB and Cu2+ in binary system was attenuated compared to that in single system. MB and Cu2+ can inhibit each other’s adsorption ability. Cu2+ had a better competitiveness than MB due to the difference in the electronic structure and the molecular size. In general, mGO/CA can be proved to be an multifunctional adsorbent to remove heavy ions and anion dyes from aqueous solution.

Abstract

Adult learners can have well-established ‘ways of knowing’, so a process of transformation represents learning that challenges them to discover new ways of thinking. Transformative learning is thus a frame for the practice of adult educators. The affordances of technologies can be exploited to facilitate transformative learning in adult learning contexts. However, this response is not consistently applied. In the present article, the authors highlight that technology is a tool within teaching strategy, and that it can be used to facilitate transformative learning albeit in a slightly different manner depending upon the epistemological stance of the educator. Adult and vocational teaching practice is positioned within four epistemological stances: post-positivist, constructivist, advocacy/participatory and pragmatism. Discussion focuses on the opportunities for transformative learning, made possible by digital technologies, within each of these epistemological stances.

Abstract

Optical property parameters play an important role in ocean colour studies. As a key variable, the absorption coefficient is of great significance for calculating the content of each component in water and simulating the physical, chemical and biological properties of water. The inversion algorithms mainly include empirical model, semi-analytical model and neural network model. In this study, we focused on the QAA_V6, which is the newest version of Quasi-Analytical Algorithm (QAA). It is necessary to test the QAA_V6 model in different conditions. IOCCG data set is used to verify the accuracy of QAA_V6. Additionally, MODIS data of case 1 waters and case 2 waters were selected. After extraction and matching, the data was finally imported into QAA_V6 model to calculate the absorption coefficient with a R2 of 0.999 in both case 1 waters and case 2 waters, thus the QAA_V6 model showed a high accuracy and robust applicability in the inversion of inherent optical properties. Subsequently, it can be further verified for the waters in more complicated areas, providing a firm foundation for implementing QAA into the research of ocean colour remote sensing.

44. Aqueous-phase ozonolysis of methacrolein and methyl vinyl ketone: a potentially important source of atmospheric aqueous oxidants

Abstract

Recent studies indicate that isoprene and its gas-phase oxidation products could contribute a considerable amount of aerosol through aqueous-phase acid-catalyzed oxidation with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), although the source of H2O2 is unclear. The present study revealed a potentially important route to the formation of aqueous oxidants, including H2O2, from the aqueous-phase ozonolysis of methacrolein (MAC) and methyl vinyl ketone (MVK). Laboratory simulation was used to perform the atmospheric aqueous-phase ozonolysis at different pHs and temperatures. Unexpectedly high molar yields of the products, including hydroxylmethyl hydroperoxide (HMHP), formaldehyde (HCHO) and methylglyoxal (MG), of both of these reaction systems have been seen. Moreover, these yields are almost independent of pH and temperature and are as follows: (i) for MAC–O3, 70.3±6.3% HMHP, 32.3±5.8% HCHO and 98.6±5.4% MG; and (ii) for MVK–O3, 68.9±9.7% HMHP, 13.3±5.8% HCHO and 75.4±7.9% MG. A yield of 24.2±3.6% pyruvic acid has been detected for MVK–O3. HMHP is unstable in the aqueous phase and can transform into H2O2 and HCHO with a yield of 100%. We suggest that the aqueous-phase ozonolysis of MAC and MVK can contribute a considerable amount of oxidants in a direct and indirect mode to the aqueous phase and that these compounds might be the main source of aqueous-phase oxidants. The formation of oxidants in the aqueous-phase ozonolysis of MAC and MVK can lead to substantial aerosol formation from the aqueous-phase acid-catalyzed reaction of H2O2 with MAC, even if there are no other sources of oxidants.

患儿 女，3岁，因“发现蛋白尿1 d”2020年11月入天津市儿童医院肾脏科，入院后发现患儿存在恶性高血压，影像学检查示多处动脉异常表现，B超示颈动脉、股动脉管壁增厚伴多发斑点状钙化，CT示肾窦区多发钙化，基因检测提示ABCC6基因变异，诊断婴儿泛发性动脉钙化（GACI）（ABCC6基因变异）。典型GACI起病年龄早，且多以心血管疾病起病，但对于起病年龄相对较晚，以及早期症状不典型的患儿应警惕GACI，超声、CT及基因检测有助于GACI的早期诊断，对GACI患儿进行早期治疗可能预后良好。.
