27. Electric vehicle relay station based on CAN bus.

Abstract

Aiming at solving different communication messages and transmission rate between electric vehicle motor drive and vehicle system, multi-node distribution technology of CAN bus for electric vehicle communication was researched, and a design of CAN communication relay station based on Renesas SH72A2 integrated controller was proposed. On basis of analyzing messages of motor drive and vehicle system, the communication format of message conversion was set up, and functional structure of the relay station with hardware circuit was built. Combining field-bus communication scheme, the two channels CAN communication between the motor drive and electric vehicle system was presented to realize software design of the relay station based on J1939 protocol. The functions of messages conversion and the reliable of CAN communication were tested in the laboratory. The results indicate that the relay station can real-timely transfer messages and convert messages' format based on CAN bus between two nodes, and it has fast response and high reliability. Abstract

Aiming at calculate the temperature of permanent magnet synchronous motors(PMSM) rapidly, lumped-parameter thermal model of PMSM is analyzed. A lumped-parameter thermal model including the mounting plate was established to predict the temperature rise for PMSM. With dc test method proposed in this paper, these thermal parameters were tested: the equivalent thermal resistance between housing and ambient, the equivalent thermal resistance between end caps and ambient, the equivalent thermal resistance between mounting plate and ambient; the equivalent thermal conductivity between winding and lamination; the interface gap between housing and lamination, the interface gap between end caps and housing, and the interface gap between mounting plate and end caps. The sensitivity of thermal parameters was studied to identify the key part which wiil influence the thermal performance. The steady performance of the thermal model was validated by experiments on a test motor. The results indicate that the thermal model and tested parameters can calculate the temperature of motors ac-curately, with only 5% error. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
