In 2022, the Choir of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Cluj-Napoca celebrated 100 years of uninterrupted activity in the field of church music. The centenary of the Cluj choir can be considered a particularly important event, both for the Transylvanian musical space and for the tradition of Romanian choral music. Founded in 1922, the Metropolitan Cathedral Choir has had an outstanding musical career, having performed countless religious concerts, cultural and missionary activities, and participated in religious and secular ceremonies. The recognition of the artistic contribution of the Metropolitan Choir is largely due to its prolific activity in the musical field, which has led to increased visibility, both locally and nationally. With a constant activity of 100 years, the Cathedral Choir has had at the conductor's desk, but also among the choristers, outstanding personalities of Romanian music. Among those who have led its musical destiny we remember: Gheorghe Dima, Vasile Petrascu, Augustin Bena, Sava Golumba, Ioan Brie, Vasile Stanciu. Through the prestige it has acquired over time, the Metropolitan Cathedral Choir has become a benchmark for church choirs in the Diocese of Vad, Feleac and Cluj, being a benchmark of mastery and virtuosity. Community-based open-to-all choirs or singing groups are popular internationally and associated with multiple health and well-being benefits. Facilitators of such groups require specific skills, attributes and knowledge. Therefore, we examined literature to identify key characteristics of group singing facilitators (GSFs) using a systematic review approach. Eighteen studies are included in the current review. These studies utilized qualitative research methods to illustrate GSFs' roles within the community context. Narrative synthesis revealed two meta-themes, namely music-related and group facilitation-related. Within both meta-themes, there were various skills, attributes and knowledge specific to GSFs, which appear to be intertwined. This analysis also revealed the complexity of group singing facilitation along with a lack of opportunities for training and support for GSFs. Further research is needed to develop and evaluate holistic learning to support GSFs with essential skills, attributes and knowledge to promote group singing in the community setting. The purpose of the work is to determine the foundations of meaning-making by the conducting gesture of the regent and choirmaster according to the specifics of choir management in the church-applied and concert-art spheres of identifying the specified specialisation, based on knowledge about the possibilities in this regard of the luminaries of the Odesa choral school in the persons of K. Pihrov, D. Zahretskyi, L. Butenko and other well-known representatives. The methodological basis is the intonation approach of the school of B. Asafyev in Ukraine, comparative-hermeneutic and cultural prolongations of intonation in the works of D. Androsova, T. Verkina, O. Kozarenko, I. Kotliarevsky, I. Liashenko, Liu Binjan, O. Markova, O. Muravska, O. Sokolova, H. Shpak, V. Shulhina, with the use of scientific and research methods: art history-analytical, descriptive-historical, cultural-regionalist, religious studies, intellectualbiographical definition. The scientific novelty of the work is determined by the fact that, for the first time in Ukraine and abroad, the executive discoveries of the named great representatives of the Odesa choral school became the subject of analysis in the specifics of the understanding of individual techniques, stylistic findings, the separation of the regent component of the choir master's heritage according to the function of the semantic core of the executive expressiveness of choir management. Conclusions. For the first time in Ukrainian musicology, a distinguishing feature has been clearly drawn between the regent and choirmaster general principles of choral conducting, taking into account the applied nature of the former, but that which marks the genesis and attribution of choral vocals as a special meaning of expressing the ideal guidelines of the human worldview, while the artistic significance nourishes the choirmaster's work both in the temple and in concert-theatrical spheres. The "instrumental" levers of the choir master's activity as the adjustment of the "instrument" of the choral multi-level rhythmic sound are also highlighted - and the vocal-"speech" layer in particular. The first of them relies on the conductor's minimal gesticulations, while the second requires a certain plastic expressiveness of hand movements, but bypassing the self-importance of that "hand ballet", which under certain conditions interferes with the intonation accuracy of sound expression. For the first time, the question was raised about the intonation performance of the conductor's sound presentation at the level of training and performance of the choir master. The Tygerberg Children's Choir (TCC) is rooted in South Africa's Afrikaner culture. Its transition to a multicultural children's choir, within a drastically changed political dispensation, furnished a rich subject for a historiographic choir identity investigation. From its establishment in 1972 until 2019, Hendrik D. Loock was the conductor. Since then the choir has continued under Karina Erasmus. The TCC is one of the oldest existing mixed-gender regional children's choirs in the country, directed by the longest serving conductor of such a choir. The choir's identity and Loock's forty-seven-year directorship are interwoven, his work perceived as a significant cultural contribution. With his late wife Theresa (TCC accompanist, choral trainer, and arranger of choir music for thirty-two years), Loock confirmed a uniquely familial leadership profile amongst children's choirs. This qualitative biographic report about the life and contribution of Loock and the TCC merges thematically analysed data from the TCC's archival collection, non-participant observations, face-to-face interviews, and contextual information. The relevance of the studied issue is the need to identify the main trends in choral performance, and determine the principles of the work of conductors and choral artists in the context of renewal of the components in this field. The aim of the research is to study the problem of current global trends in the development of choral performance as a complex multifaceted and integral phenomenon. Its practical methods (audio search; audio selection; audio analysis) were used in the research. The aspects of modern choral performance (interdisciplinary; socio-cultural; as well as artistic management; professional training; modern engineering technologies; information and communication space; technologies aimed at preserving human and professional resources) were identified. The current components of activity in the field of modern choral art were established. The directions of modern choral practice were identified (activation of the musical group in the life of society; expansion of traditional executive functions; growth of the genre stylistic palette of the choral repertoire). The system of key modernized methods of interpreting choral works of the 20th and 21st centuries was studied (principles of intonation; the principle of expanding the range; the principle of enriching the technical means of interpretation; the principles of forming the performance texture; the principle of interpreting the verbal text in the context of the choral score; the principle of creating different types of sound). The general features of modern choral performance in Ukraine and in the world were studied. The results can be applied in the process of researching future choral performing practice and preparing the relevant studies. The purpose of the article is to highlight the concert and performance activities of the Ukrainian Naddniprianskyi Choir leaded by conductor Dmytro Kotko based on the materials of the Polish periodicals of 1922--1926. The research methodology consists in the use of methods of analysis and synthesis, systematization of facts, and generalisation of the materials studied. The methodological basis of the work is based on the historical and chronological, source, logical and generalising method to analyse periodical sources, study the work of the Naddnipryanskyi Choir, and identify the impact of its artistic activity on the development of musical life. The scientific novelty of the article is the introduction of new archival documents, a significant database of periodicals of that time, and publications of music criticism for a detailed comprehensive analysis of the choir's creativity. Conclusions. The scientific article hightlights one of the periods of Dmytro Kotko's artistic activity -- the management of the Ukrainian Naddnipryanskyi Choir. The analysis of his work is based on materials from Polish periodicals. Polish press has created a kind of chronicle of the musical life of this ensemble, describing artistry, exemplary stage discipline, professional vocal skills, successful selection of repertoire, original interpretations of choral works, and artistic perfection of performance. A large number of reviews, including those of well-known Polish musicologists, attest to the popularity of the creative institution and its director, Dmytro Kotko. Despite certain contradictions, biased assessments, or contradictory conclusions, the importance of these reviews in periodicals lies, firstly, in the fact that they created a kind of chronicle of the musical life of the Ukrainian Naddnipryanskyi Choir, and secondly, they stimulated the development of historical and theoretical musicology, laid the foundations of musical culture, and preserved valuable documentary facts for posterity. The purpose of this phenomenological study was to investigate the religious development, life experiences, and perspectives of six atheist high school choral music teachers on their current attitudes about performing sacred choral music within the public school education system. Six atheist choir directors participated in eighteen semi-structured interviews, resulting in 608 minutes of data. Main analysis occurred through first- and second-wave coding, with horizontalization within the process. Analysis revealed five main themes that defined atheist choir director experiences: youth religious participation largely motivated by community and vibrant music, moving away from religious teaching throughout adolescence and college, feelings of other as a non-Christian minority, stepping into a role to participate in religious rituals, and programming religious music by presentation rather than proselytizing. Additionally, there was intersectional overlapping between the sexuality of a participant and their development as atheists.
