Abstract This paper presents a security aware design methodology to design secure generalized likelihood ratio test (GLRT) hardware intellectual property (IP) core for electrocardiogram (ECG) detector against IP piracy and fraudulent claim of IP ownership threats. Integrating authentic (secure version) GLRT hardware IP core in the system-on-chip (SoC) of ECG detectors is paramount for reliable operation and estimation of ECG parametric data, such as Q wave, R wave and S wave (QRS) complex detection. A pirated GLRT hardware IP integrated into an ECG detector may result in an unreliable/erratic estimation of ECG parametric data that can be hazardous and fatal for the end patient. The proposed methodology presents an integrated design flow to secure micro GLRT and GLRT cascade hardware IP cores for the ECG detector, using the colored interval graph (CIG) framework based fingerprint biometric, during high level synthesis (HLS). The proposed approach integrates a fingerprint biometric based security constraint generation process for securing the GLRT hardware IP core. This paper also presents a secure register transfer level (RTL) datapath design corresponding to micro GLRT and GLRT cascade hardware IP cores with embedded IP vendor's fingerprint. The proposed secure GLRT hardware IP core embedded with fingerprint biometric achieves superior results in terms of probability of coincidence and tamper tolerance than other security approaches. More explicitly, the proposed approach reports a significantly lower value of probability of coincidence and stronger value for tamper tolerance. Further, the proposed approach incurs zero design cost overhead.

Understanding the condition, spatial arrangement, and changing patterns of vegetation cover holds significant scientific and economic importance. Satellite platforms offer a highly convenient means to study how vegetation reacts to atmospheric influences by gauging reflectance in the visible and near-infrared spectra. Given the numerous potential origins of environmental land cover variability, this study seeks to examine how vegetation cover influences water separation. This is achieved by identifying the chlorophyll index (CIG) and global environmental monitoring index (GEMI) to enhance the vital safeguarding of water sector against the encroachment of excessive vegetation. To gain deeper insights into the impact of extensive vegetated areas, we have analyzed the CIG and GEMI within Swansea County, situated in Wales, United Kingdom. These emphasized indices are applied and their effectiveness is evaluated using geographic information systems and remote sensing technology. The outcomes of the CIG and GEMI analyses reveal that the indexes exhibit their lowest and highest values at (-1.38) and (1.75105, -9.61413e+008) respectively. These findings indicate the presence of extensive vegetated regions with a substantial proportion of chlorophyll emissions being reflected into the atmosphere. The dispersion of chlorophyll concentrations across the environment implies a significant risk to the water sector, potentially resulting in severe shortages and the potential for future water scarcity. Elevated readings of the CIG and GEMI indicate extensive coverage of Earth's surface by vegetation, impacting the crucial water resources essential humanity. It is prudent to safeguard freshwater reserves and utilize it wisely to maintain its permanence. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This PhD thesis tracks the history of the Italian unemployment welfare during the second half of the twentieth century, offering an account of why the Italian system of social security never established a universal safety net against unemployment, choosing instead a social policy system targeted on the core industrial workforce. During the post-war period, Italian unemployment insurance remained severely lacking compared to other European countries. To compensate, the country relied on the Cassa Integrazione Guadagni (CIG), a short time work scheme providing a wage replacement allowance to compensate employees in the industrial sector for a temporary reduction of their working time. Starting from the late 1960s, the scope and duration of the CIG were progressively expanded to tackle manpower redundancies, catering for the weakness of other forms of support. During the 1970s and the 1980s, short time emerged as the chief instrument to cushion the economic and social consequences of the industrial crisis of the country. This thesis explains the peculiar characteristics of the Italian unemployment welfare model as a consequence of the country's pattern of labour conflict, showing how industrial relations and social policy influenced one another. In the early postwar decades, while the unions were organisationally weak, the CIG emerged as a less expensive alternative to general unemployment insurance. This engendered a path dependent effect. Following the rise of industrial unrest and the strengthening of organised labour in the early 1970s, unions and employers favoured the increasing use of the CIG so as to protect their respective interests for job security and manpower flexibility, at the expense of the weaker strata of the labour market. Far from being a simple instrument of income maintenance, the CIG played a key role in shaping social relations of production at the work-place level and was used to diffuse industrial conflict on the shop floor. With the onset of deindustrialisation, during the 1980s, the CIG became a powerful tool for the demobilisation of organised labour.

Power systems around the globe are undergoing a transformation characterized by a massive deployment of converter-interfaced generation (CIG) to effectively combat climate change. However, achieving a seamless transition from current power systems dominated by synchronous generators (SGs) to future ones with high levels of CIG requires overcoming several technical challenges. From a frequency stability perspective, reduced system inertia increases the frequency nadir after a loss of generation thereby endangering frequency stability. In this context, this paper proposes a novel methodology for determining control requirements to impose on CIG as their penetration in the network increases. Results of a case study based on the Chilean grid projected for the year 2046 show that, if only grid-following converters without frequency control capability are deployed, a maximum CIG penetration level of 75% can be achieved without threatening frequency stability. The Chilean system can reach a 99% CIG penetration, provided that the remaining CIGs are deployed in grid-following with frequency support capability. Finally, we show that if the last SG is replaced with a grid-forming converter, the system can still sustain frequency stability and exhibits a good dynamic performance. These results demonstrate that, at least from a frequency stability viewpoint, achieving a 100% based CIG system is technically possible. The proposed methodology can be used by energy regulators to define the control requirements necessary to impose on CIG for achieving renewable energy targets in a secure way. Although the obtained results are particular for the Chilean system, the proposed methodology can be applied to any power system.

Background: The Canadian Immunization Guide (CIG) is a comprehensive resource on immunization for health professionals and vaccine program decision-makers. It is developed based on the evidence-based recommendations of the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI). The NACI Vaccine Safety Working Group (VSWG) is comprised of NACI members, liaison members and external experts. The World Allergy Organization now recommends that antihistamines should not be used in the initial treatment of anaphylaxis. The update of the chapter was also used to provide further information and clarity to several tables in the chapter. Methods: In updating the CIG anaphylaxis guidance, VSWG conducted an environmental scan, a review of relevant literature and consulted international and Canadian experts and professional societies. Results: The use of diphenhydramine hydrochloride as adjunctive treatment in the management of anaphylaxis in a community setting is no longer recommended. Other notable changes made to the chapter include the following: 1) retitled: "Anaphylaxis and other acute reactions following vaccination"; 2) inclusion of new tables: "Key distinguishing features of anaphylaxis and vasovagal syncope" and "Signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis"; and 3) updated tables: "Anaphylaxis management kit: recommended items" and "Dosage of intramuscular EPINEPHrine 1:1000 (1 mg/mL) solution, by age or weight".Conclusion: The updated CIG chapter provides healthcare providers with further clarity in recognizing and managing anaphylaxis in community settings. The updated intramuscular epinephrine dosage table will aid in optimal epinephrine administration, while the revised guidance against the use of diphenhydramine hydrochloride will prevent its unnecessary stockpiling in preparation for potential mass vaccination clinics related to the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic. Bu anlamda gerçekleştirilen bu çalışmada gelecekte oluşması muhtemel risklerin değerlendirilebilmesi, azaltılması, önleyici tedbirlerin alınması için bir altlık oluşturması ve karar vericileri yönlendirmesi amaçlanmıştır., Loss of life, injury and material losses are experienced due to avalanche, which is a natural disaster that occurs almost every year in our country. Due to climatic conditions and topographic factors, many avalanches have occurred in Hakkari from past to present and have caused serious losses to the local people. Considering the recorded avalanche cases, Hakkari province is one of the provinces that experienced 52 avalanche disasters throughout the country. Determining and processing the weight values of the parameters of the disaster type according to the work area is of vital importance in terms of understanding the danger dimension. Slope, elevation, aspect, land use and curvature parameters that cause avalanche formation were taken as basis in this study. Land use was obtained from CORINE–CLC-2012 data and slope, aspect and curvature maps were obtained from Digital Elevation Model. In this study, the Avalanche hazard of Hakkari Province, which has a surface area of 7,095 〖km〗^2 , was revealed with the subjective scoring method. When the hazard map is examined, it is seen that there is a high rate of avalanche paths that will affect the settlements. These areas are especially in the south of Hakkari Province and between Hakkari Province and Şemdinli District. In this sense, in this study, it is aimed to evaluate possible risks that may occur in the future, to reduce them, to form a base for taking preventive measures and to guide decision makers.

- Abstract
High-efficiency video coding (HEVC) is the state-of-the-art video compression standard designed to handle the storage and transmission requirements of next-generation multimedia services. In the lossless mode HEVC, prevailing sample-based prediction algorithms in the literature have shown better prediction accuracy compared to the conventional block-based prediction within the HEVC anchor. This work proposes a sample-based prediction technique to modify the planar prediction mode of HEVC and a complete sample-based predictive encoder for the lossless mode of HEVC. In this work, we propose gradient adaptive sample-based intraprediction (GASP) as a replacement for the block-based planar prediction in HEVC. To obtain the benefits of sample-based prediction methods in both angular and planar prediction modes, we also propose a combination of ISAP, a sample-based angular prediction in the literature, with the newly proposed GASP (CIG). The experimental results demonstrate the superiority of GASP and CIG over other state-of-the-art sample-based prediction strategies in angular and planar prediction modes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The main purpose of the study was to determine Common Interest Group members attitude towards National Agricultural Technology Programme (NATP) (phase-I) interventions in the selected areas of Mymensingh district and to explore the relationships between eleven selected characteristics of the CIG members and their attitude towards NATP (phase-I) interventions. A total of 110 CIG members were selected from CIG groups reside in Bailor and Rampur unions of Trishal upazila following simple random sampling technique. Data were collected during 23 September to 20 October, 2018 using a structured interview schedule through face-to-face interview method by the principal author himself. Data were analyzed with a combination of descriptive statistics and inferential statistical technique. Eleven selected characteristics of the CIG members namely; age, education, household size, farm size, annual income, farming experience, organizational participation, training received, credit received, agricultural subsidy received and extension media contact were considered to show relationships with their attitude towards NATP (phase-I) interventions. The majority (60%) of the CIG members had highly favourable attitude towards NATP (phase-I) interventions compared to 39.09% of the respondents had moderately favourable attitude and only 0.91% of the respondents had slightly favourable attitude towards NATP (phase-I) interventions. Correlation analyses indicated that the farm size, annual income, agricultural subsidy received and extension media contact had significant positive relationships with respondents attitude towards NATP (phase-I) interventions. So, these four characteristics had significant contributions on the attitude of CIG members. Age, education, household size, farming experience, organizational participation, training received and credit received had no significant relationship with respondents attitude towards NATP (phase-I) interventions. So, these characteristics had no significant contributions on the attitude of CIG members. The CIG members were found with very much enthusiastic about NATP (phase-I) interventions that could help policy makers to continue their efforts on that issue. The paper examines the procedural and substantial aspects of the order on the preliminary measures adopted by the International Court of Justice on 23 January 2020 in the Gambia v. Myanmar case.

28. Västergarn Boat Rivets in Context : Case Study : The Missing Boatyard

- Abstract
Gotland has a rich material cultural heritage from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages thanks to the island's strategic location in the middle of the Baltic Sea; especially true for the Viking Age when Gotlanders had extensive trade contacts with the east dating from the mid 12th century and Gotland’s economy was dominated by such contacts. This essay deals with Gotland's maritime infrastructure and its development between about 1100 and 1400 based on a case study of boat rivets from the medieval settlement of Västergarn. The study focus is on Västergarn’s emergence as a maritime community on Gotland's west coast, and if Västergarn had the opportunity to decide its own economy, i.e., to control its’ external contacts and internal trade with the rest of Gotland? What role did maritime traffic play in Västergarn economy? Is it possible to draw conclusions about site maritime organization and infrastructure based on the extensive rivet material? What supply chains with the surrounding area may have existed that made such activity possible? What professional skills and knowledge were in place? In the analytical part of the dissertation a classification system for Västergarn's rivet material is established and discussed in comparison with other literature on boat building technology from the rest of Scandinavia, in particular the Baltic Sea area. Results of the study indicate the existence of a boatyard mainly for the repair of clinker-built vessels. Further conclusions about how shipping, especially after clinker-built vessels were replaced by cogs, affected Västergarn's economy and its’ further existence as a port, however, is not established., Gotland har ett rikt materiellt kulturarv från stenåldern till medeltiden tack vare öns strategiska läge i mitten av Östersjön.

Although the Turkish Armed Forces and protect our country against foreign enemy countries, as the law enforcement forces within our borders are responsible for the internal security operation together with the gendarmerie units and the Police Order, many negatives and occupational accidents are encountered because their duties are dangerous accidents. These negatives cause job inefficiency and morale in both the staff and the command level. Gendarmerie units have an accident prevention system, such as the police accident prevention officer, which entered into force in 1961. However, developing technology, human-machine designs, command, and command hierarchy lose the functionality of this system. This system should be updated to prevent occupational accidents that occur as measures in the field of occupational health and safety.

Further conclusions about how shipping, especially after clinker-built vessels were replaced by cogs, affected Västergarn's economy and its’ further existence as a port, however, is not established. Natural hazard assessments are core to riskdefinition and early warning systems and play a fundamental role in the prevention ofmajor damages. Traditional hazard identification methods are static. For thisreason, new information and conditions cannot be easily included in thepre-defined hazard assessments. The Bayesian Networks can be used effectivelyfor dynamic hazard identification. In this study, a methodology based on theBayesian Networks model is presented for dynamic avalanche hazard assessment,in which changed and renewed data can be included in the system. In theproposed methodology, the integration of the Bayesian Networks and GeographicalInformation Systems (GIS) is modeled in the National Spatial DataInfrastructure (NSDI) perspective. In this structure, it is possible to combineand analyze the data obtained from different sources and factors for avalanchehazard can be dynamically updated with real-time updated data and temporalhazard mapping can be produced. The proposed methodology provides a genericstructure and has an attribute making it applicable for dynamic mapping studiesfor other disasters., Doğalafetlerle ilgili çalışmalarda tehlike değerlendirmesi, risk tanımlama ve erkenuyarı sistemlerinin temelidir ve büyük kayıpların engellenmesinde önemli birrol oynamaktadır. Abstract: Flow cytometric analysis of abnormal lymphocyte populations in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) has been widely reported to show weak expression of surface immunoglobulin (sIg). The international scoring system to help discriminate between CLL and other B-cell lymphoproliferative disorders lists this as the first of 5 criteria worth 1 point each. In the present study, 30 cases of CLL were studied for surface and cytoplasmic Ig expression. 23 of these 30 (76.7%) cases were positive for sIg. Of these 23, 14 cases (60.9%) showed moderate to bright sIg expression. All of these 23 cases were positive for CD5 and CD23; all were negative for CD10 and only 6 (26.1%) were positive for FMC7. 27 of 30 (90.0%) cases expressed cytoplasmic immunoglobulin (cIg) compared to 5% reported by others. This shows that cytoplasmic Ig occurs in a much greater percentage of cases than reported previously. 23 of 30 (76.7%) cases showed positivity for both surface and cytoplasmic Ig, with 15 showing kappa light chain restriction and 8 showing lambda light chain restriction. Six expressed cytoplasmic Ig only, with 4 showing kappa light chain restriction and 2 showing lambda light chain restriction. One case expressed neither cytoplasmic nor surface Ig. CD38 positivity portends a worse prognosis. Of the 29 cases tested for CD38, 13 (44.8%) were positive. Of these 13 cases, 12 were in the surface Ig/cytoplasmic Ig+ group and 1 in the cytoplasmic Ig+ group only. Also, of the 23 cases tested for CD22 expression, 16 (69.6%) were positive. These data question the use of both “weak” surface Ig expression and lack of CD22 expression as valid scoring criteria for CLL. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Milk is an important source of protein for human health. Aflatoxin M1, also known as Milk toxin, is the main cause of acute and chronic toxicoses, which are mainly caused by the consumption of contaminated milk and dairy products or the metabolism of AFB1 in the liver. The current study aimed to determine AFM1 incidence and contamination levels in the raw and pasteurized milk samples offered to consumption in Bursa. Total of 120 samples were examined by HPLC method including 10 raw and 10 pasteurized milk each mont From June to November 2017. According to analyses results; different amounts of AFM1 were detected in 51 of 60 raw milk samples (85%) and 37 of 60 pasteurized milk sample (61,7%). The highest average AFM1 levels were found in raw milk with 0.05 g/kg and in November, in pasteurized milk with 0.026 g/kg in June. A statistically significant difference was not found between the AFM1 values for each of the samples of raw and pasteurized milk according to the months. In addition, 15 of the 60 raw milk samples (25%) and 7 of the 60 pasteurized milk samples (11.7%) were obtained at levels exceeding the TFC (Turkish Food Codex) legal limit AFM1 contamination. As a result of raw and pasteurized milk samples sold in Bursa could pose a significant risk to community health in terms of AFM1 content. Therefore; reduction of fungal contamination especially under appropriate storage conditions in feed substances, hovewer were concluded in milk and dairy products AFM1 with the control of the existence of AFB1 in feeds with effective and sustainable audits.

- Abstract
In an era of economic globalization shaped by hegemonic capitalism, resistance movements introduce different alternatives for a life beyond capitalism. The powerful and dominant system logic criticizes such movements for being utopian dreamers with no pragmatic sense of plausible social change. The 'ontology of the possible' for emancipatory social change is dominated by the coloniality of power and epistemic violence of modernity. Time becomes a powerful measurement tool developed by Western clocks in order to measure the successes and failures of social movements and categorize their impact on social change. Based on the analysis of an ethnographic research with the campaign for Marichuy in Mexico, I argue that this indigenous movement constructs a conception of time related to social change, which challenge the Western notion of a measurable evolutionary timeline. Such iconoclastic strategy of indeterminacy becomes their emancipatory potential, which envisions the possibilities for emancipatory social change. The purpose of this study is to contribute to a global conversation with scholarship and activism. Through a combination of theoretical literature and ethnographic data material, this thesis intends to challenge the status quo conception of time horizons for change.

Full waveform inversion (FWI) has been used successfully to build high-resolution acoustic velocity models for imaging but can fail when the starting model is far from accurate because the absence of low frequency information can lead to conversion to local minima. Wave-equation based migration velocity analysis (WEMVA), is an iterative method that has successfully been used to provide low-frequency starting models for full waveform inversion (FWI) and avoid cycle-skipping. In this work, we extend WEMVA to the common-offset domain by minimizing an image residual in the common-offset domain, which can be formed after either reverse-time migration (RTM) or least-squares migration (LSM). Although very expensive in comparison to RTM, LSM has an increased amplitude fidelity that helps to ensure that the image residual used in WEMVA is largely a function of moveout instead of errors in amplitude, thus increasing the likelihood of converging to a global minimum. We demonstrate the method, theory and results on three synthetic models of increasing complexity. • Surface common-offset WEMVA avoids cycle-skipping in FWI by solving for low-frequencies in model space using image gathers. • Residuals formed using least-squares migration provide an uplift over RTM-generated image residuals for this type of WEMVA. • A finite-difference approximation to the tomographic operator can reduce the computational cost of WEMVA by one third.
