The Internet's widespread adoption and recent technological developments have provided researchers with the opportunity to capture new data types (e.g., images, passively collected data), which offer several advantages over conventional survey data. Nevertheless, the limited participation rate in projects requiring to share such data may limit their benefits, and even their feasibility. To estimate the willingness to participate in such projects in advance, researchers frequently rely on surveys. However, the way researchers describe what data should be shared and how, and the phrasing of questions asked to participants to obtain their agreement may result in different estimates. This study presents the results of a conjoint experiment that estimates the hypothetical willingness of participants to engage in two research activities that require sharing geolocation data. Three different descriptions of the activities were presented to participants: a neutral one, one emphasizing the necessity to commit to participate, and one emphasizing safe handling of shared data. The three descriptions elicited different levels of willingness, with a maximum effect of 7.0 percentage points (statistically significant). Additionally, the importance given by participants to the attributes of the activities (e.g., project duration or incentives) differed depending on the description. Notably, the description that emphasized data safety produced lower levels of willingness compared to the neutral one. This suggests that researchers should avoid overly emphasizing safety assurances when requesting the sharing of sensitive data, beyond the necessary information required for obtaining informed consent from participants. MUSICAL interpretation ,EMPLOYMENT tenure ,BACHELOR'S degree ,BALLROOM dancing ,MASTER'S degree - Abstract
DanceSport is the new signature for competitive ballroom dancing, which was originally intended to reflect the sport's current reputation as a difficult one. Physical strength, agility, coordination, stamina, a high degree of fitness, discipline, teamwork, grace, style, and musical interpretation are among its attributes. In the past few decades, DanceSport has experienced tremendous expansion and development, garnering more public attention and remarkable breakthroughs on the professional front. Even with this growing acknowledgment, there is a conspicuous lack of scholarly writing on the responsibilities, proficiencies, and professionalism of DanceSport technical officials--important individuals in charge of guaranteeing the uniformity, impartiality, and general prosperity of contests. These officials are essential in maintaining the caliber and integrity of competitions, acting as the backbone of the sport This descriptive-correlational study determined the professionalism, administrative skills, and commitment among DanceSport technical officials in Panay Island, Region VI, Philippines for the School Year 2023-2024. A researcher-made questionnaire on professionalism, administrative skills, and commitment was used. Majority of respondents were members of LGBTQ+, 31 to 40 years old, bachelor's degree holders with units toward master's degree, 11 to 20 years in service, and teaching personnel. The level of professionalism as a whole was very high. In terms of gender, age, highest educational attainment, length of service, and nature of work, their level of professionalism was very high. The level of administrative skills as a whole was very high. In terms of gender, age, highest educational attainment, length of service, and nature of work, their level of administrative skills was very high. The level of commitment as a whole was very high. In terms of gender, age, highest educational attainment, length of service, and nature of work, their level of commitment was very high. There were no significant differences in the level of professionalism, administrative skills, and commitment when classified according to gender, age, highest educational attainment, length of service, and nature of work. However, a significant relationship existed in the level of professionalism, administrative skills, and commitment. Based on the findings of the study on professionalism, administrative skills, and commitment among DanceSport technical officials, it is recommended that organizations develop specialized workshops focusing on these key areas to strengthen their capabilities. Additionally, establishing a mentorship program may help new officials quickly acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for high-level performance. Finally, implementing regular feedback and evaluation mechanisms will ensure ongoing improvement and maintain high standards within the DanceSport community. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

For any business to effectively serve and satisfy both its customers and employees, it is crucial to ensure high employee productivity. This involves maximizing the potential of the workforce, securing long-term productivity improvements, and nurturing a culture of continuous enhancement to achieve organizational excellence. This study aims to create a structural model that examines the impact of employee commitment, job satisfaction, teamwork, and training on productivity. After conducting scientific validation and reliability tests, questionnaires were utilized as the primary data collection method. The research, which employed a descriptive-correlational and causal-comparative design, gathered data from 518 staff and faculty members at a Higher Education Institution. The findings revealed a positive correlation between employee productivity and other variables, showing that higher productivity levels are linked to greater commitment, job satisfaction, effective teamwork, and the benefits of training initiatives. However, the productivity of Higher Education employees is particularly influenced by teamwork and training. This suggests that when there is collaboration between employees and management, and employees receive relevant training, productivity significantly increases. Ultimately, the fifth structural model best explains the relationship between teamwork, training, and employee productivity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

AbstractDrawing upon the attitude theory, this study theorizes that commitment affects loafing behaviors and ISP compliance. Further, drawing upon the transfer theory, this study adopts the concepts of loafing and commitment transfer in order to explore whether social loafing will enhance employee cyberloafing and whether organizational commitment can enhance ISP commitment, both of which, in turn, influence ISP compliance intention. This study utilized structural equation modeling (SEM) to analyze survey data collected in July 2023 from 361 Taiwanese individuals affiliated with organizations or companies. The results show that social loafing has a strong positive effect on cyberloafing, which, in turn, has a strong negative effect on ISP compliance intention. Organizational commitment has a strong positive effect on ISP commitment, which, in turn, has a strong positive effect on ISP compliance intention. In addition, distortion of consequences moderates the relationship between social loafing and cyberloafing. Advantageous comparison moderates the relationship between cyberloafing and ISP compliance intention. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to examine how different types of user experience in TikTok impact purchase intention via commitment to the influencer and commitment to the platform, with customer type included to determine moderating effects. Three types of user experience are considered: information experience, entertainment experience and parasocial-relationship-based experience. Design/methodology/approach: This study collected 458 valid questionnaires from TikTok users, employing the structural equation modeling approach to examine the proposed research model. Findings: Information experience, entertainment experience and parasocial-relationship-based experience are found to critically stimulate user commitment to the influencer and commitment to the platform, in turn driving TikTok-based purchase intention. Tests incorporating customer type reveal that commitment to the influencer more strongly influences the purchase intention of repeat customers, with commitment to the platform more likely to stimulate purchase intention among potential customers. Research limitations/implications: On a theoretical level, the paper is among the first to examine TikTok-based user purchase intention with customer type as a moderator. On a practical level, the results can guide marketers to effectively promote products using TikTok and inspire TikTok managers to develop customized strategies to stimulate initial and repeat sales. Originality/value: TikTok is moving to the stage of commercialization and monetization by introducing e-commerce features. Although this move should cultivate particularly fertile ground for companies to sell products, TikTok user purchase behavior has yet to receive sufficient research attention, with little currently known about their purchase motivations. The current study uncovers the significant antecedents of users' purchase intention through TikTok, and further reveals the motivational differences among potential and repeat customers. As consumers search for new styles, escape boredom, or update their wardrobe, brands offer new collections that promote new looks to create sales. While past studies have examined variety-seeking behaviour within the context of brand switching or seeking new brands, less is known about consumer shopping tendencies within the context of ‘frequently purchased brands’. This study examines the extent to which consumers search beyond their favoured basket of fashion brands by investigating variety-seeking behaviour, attractiveness of alternative brands, satisfaction with brands, and brand commitment. An online survey was used to collect data from 242 female consumers. The results suggest that female consumers’ variety-seeking behaviour may weaken their relationship with favoured fashion brands as they seek alternative choices while highlighting the importance of strategically leveraging the pre-existing brand-consumer relationship. This study adds to the fashion literature where fashion consumption related to variety-seeking and brand commitment are examined. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The objective of the current study was to explore the impacts of 1) goal-oriented and experiential-oriented motivations within the service encounter and 2) perceptions of value on satisfaction and affective commitment in the sports bar industry in the U.S. Self-administered questionnaires were distributed to and collected from sports bar patrons. A total of 507 questionnaires were used to perform structural equation modeling to test the study hypotheses. Results confirmed support for experiential and goal orientations, as two aspects of the service encounter found to have significant effects on the three dimensions of perceived value: emotional value, social value, and functional value. Further, among the three dimensions, functional value and emotional value have the greatest impact on patron satisfaction and commitment to the sports bar establishment. Sport bar managers should have a thorough understanding of the varying dimensions of the service encounter and patrons perceived value as they strive to satisfy, as well as increase, their patron's commitment to the establishment. An important contribution of the present study is the exploration of both antecedent and consequent constructs impacting patron commitment in the unique sports bar context. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

POSSIBILITY , *INTENTION , *SHARING , *INTUITION - Abstract
In what sense is commitment essential to joint action, and do the participants in a joint action themselves perceive commitment as essential? Attempts to answer this question have so far been hampered by clashes of intuition. Perhaps this is because the intuitions in question have mostly been investigated using informal methods only. To explore this possibility, we adopted a more formal approach to testing intuitions about joint action, sampling naïve participants' intuitions about experimentally controlled scenarios. This approach did reveal patterns in participants' responses which may hint at potential conceptual links between commitment and joint action. It did not however provide evidence to support the view that commitment is essential to joint action, at least not from the agents' own perspective. We conclude that intuitions alone, even when drawn systematically from a large sample, may be a poor basis for theorizing about joint action. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study examines gender differences in the degree to which men's and women's views of their relationship predict eventual dissolution among mixed-gender couples. We analyzed data from a national sample of 314 unmarried mixed-gender couples from the United States that were surveyed across four years to test gender differences in associations between baseline levels of perceived likelihood of breaking up, relationship satisfaction, commitment, and love and relationship dissolution across one, two, three, and four years. Probit regression models revealed women's greater perceived likelihood of breakup was a stronger predictor of relationship dissolution two years later than their male partner's reports, but men's and women's perceived likelihood of breakup did not differ in the strength of predicting dissolution across one-, three-, and four-year follow-up. Women's low commitment emerged as a significantly stronger predictor of relationship dissolution across two, three, and four years than their male partner's commitment (but not at one year). Women's and men's relationship satisfaction and love did not differ in predicting dissolution across all time intervals; those less satisfied with their relationship and with less love for their partner were more likely to dissolve their relationship. Although commitment may be an area where women's reports take primacy in predicting future breakup among adult unmarried mixed-gender couples, the results add to a growing body of literature finding that women's and men's views of their partnership are similarly diagnostic of future relationship outcomes. In this paper, we investigate the association between evaluating a romantic partner as deviating from relationship ideals (i.e., ideal-partner discrepancy) and a widely studied form of self-regulatory behavior in romantic relationships—accommodation (i.e., inhibiting one's own destructive relationship behaviors and enacting constructive behaviors). We also consider the moderating role of relationship commitment. Two studies tested these associations using self-reports (Study 1, N = 450 individuals) and by observing accommodation behaviors in couples (Study 2, N = 116 dyads). Across both studies, a negative-ideal partner discrepancy (i.e., a partner is deemed as falling below ideals) was associated with more accommodation when relationship commitment was high than for when it was low. The findings provide novel insights into understanding accommodation behavior in romantic relationships. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Graduate medical education is pivotal in shaping a physician's professional identity, an aspect that is often overshadowed by the emphasis on clinical skills. This manuscript addresses the critical role of medical educators as role models in developing professional identity among students using the ABC: Authenticity, Behavior, and Commitment. Authenticity demands consistency between personal beliefs and professional actions which fosters trust. Behavior involves consistently displaying professional and ethical conduct and providing a live curriculum that is professional. Commitment signifies a dedication to lifelong learning and patient care, demonstrating resilience and innovation. By embodying these principles, educators can significantly influence students, ensuring they acquire essential clinical skills and adopt core professional values, thereby preparing them for the ethical, interpersonal, and technical challenges in the medical field. - Abstract
Global environmental challenges threaten both sustainable societal development and daily human life. As these issues intensify, promoting pro-environmental behaviors has become a key research priority. While reward strategies have been proven effective in encouraging such behaviors, most research has focused on the content of rewards, leaving the method of reward delivery underexplored. This study investigates the effects of an unlocking reward strategy on pro-environmental behavior, grounded in the Goal-Setting Theory, while also exploring the psychological mechanisms and boundary conditions that influence these effects. Three studies were conducted to test the hypotheses. Study 1 demonstrated that the unlocking reward strategy (compared to direct rewards) significantly increased pro-environmental behaviors. Study 2 showed that self-efficacy mediates this effect, as the unlocking reward strategy enhances self-efficacy, which in turn promotes pro-environmental behaviors. Study 3 revealed that commitment serves as a crucial moderator, amplifying the positive impact of the unlocking reward strategy. This research not only broadens the scope of reward strategy literature but also elucidates key drivers of pro-environmental behavior, offering practical insights for marketers, policymakers, and organizations aiming to foster sustainable practices. Investigating sport persistence can make a significant contribution to a thorough examination and understanding of the factors underlying an athlete's activity, integrating physical activity, sports motivation and commitment. This systematic review aimed to detect the papers focusing on the factors influencing sport persistence following the levels of Bronfenbrenner's and Bauman's ecological models. Following the PRISMA guidelines, by the EBSCO Discovery Service Search Engine, 512 records were detected, of which 21 met the criteria. Factors influencing sport persistence show a huge variety. Individual factors and micro-system level were overrepresented. Meso- and macro-level factors are underrepresented and measured only with other (individual or micro-system level) factors. Most factors detected at the individual (e.g. gender, age, career-related variables and positive psychological factors), micro- (e.g. family, peers and coaches), meso- (e.g. climate), and macro-level (cultural, societal, and institutional influences) were positively correlated with sport persistence, i.e. supporting the persistent behaviour of the athletes regarding participating in one's sporting activity. In conclusion, there is still room for further research concerning sport persistence. Including variables belonging to the meso- and macro-system and conducting longitudinal research should be considered which would allow us to better understand the nature of sport persistence. The research objective is to analyze the relationship between relationship marketing (RM) and e-customer loyalty, which is mediated by e-customer satisfaction in the banking industry in Banjarmasin. The increasingly rapid challenges of the banking world require organizations to improve their efforts to provide world-class services in order to attract and retain loyal customers. RM is the key answer to retaining loyal customers. The research was conducted in Banjarmasin with a population of 200 conventional government bank customers using a simple random sampling technique. Data were obtained from interviews with customers using a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms, and data analysis techniques using SEM AMOS 24. The research results prove that RM which consists of trust, commitment, communication, and conflict handling has a positive and significant effect on e-customer loyalty through e-customer satisfaction. This means that to further increase customer satisfaction for them to be loyal, the repair company must be able to maintain good relationships by providing a good level of trust, commitment, communication, and resolve conflicts that occur. This article intends to reflect on art-based social work by highlighting the perception and involvement in art experiences of professionals in Portugal. It critically analyses the use of art as a process, method and technique that can be conceptualised as a social change approach. An exploratory survey was conducted among professionals belonging to the National Association. The survey used closed and open-ended questions, focused on professionals’ understanding of intervention and social change through art, artistic methodologies, and experiences in under degree and professional practice. The results show a low level of professional involvement with art, and for those who use art seem to have acquired post-graduate training and experience on this aspect. Art is a social change approach, focused on personal, community and sensitive to cultural/racial issues. Art-based social work focuses on freedom, and its usage in interventions is fostered by having training and professional experience. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Habit is a key psychological determinant for physical activity behavior change and maintenance. This study aims to deepen the understanding of habit formation in physical activity and identify promotion strategies. We examined the habit formation trajectory and its relationships with cue‐behavior repetition (a cue‐triggered 15‐minute brisk walk) and unconditional physical activity (daily steps). We also tested whether the behavior change techniques (BCTs) ‘commitment’ and ‘prompts and cues’ promote habit, cue‐behavior repetition, and daily steps within persons. This micro‐randomized trial included a 7‐day preparatory and a 105‐day experimental phase delivered via the HabitWalk app. Participants (
N = 24) had a 50% probability of receiving each BCT daily, leading to four conditions. Habit strength was assessed daily using the Self‐Report Behavioral Automaticity Index, while cue‐behavior repetition and steps were measured via an activity tracker. Person‐specific growth functions indicated that habit strength trajectories were highly idiosyncratic. Multilevel models indicated a positive effect of cue‐behavior repetition on habit strength, but not vice versa. The effect of habit strength on daily steps varied by the operationalization of cue‐behavior repetition. Tentative findings suggest that commitment and prompts and cues are effective habit‐promotion strategies when delivered together. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]- Published

This study aims to look at how organizational commitment in private tertiary institutions in Central Kalimantan affects lecturer performance in relation to servant leadership. Based on the empirical phenomena, many professor careers were found to be static at particular levels; the Tri Dharma's subpar performance served as an indicator of this. An explanatory quantitative method for causality is used in this work to describe the link between exogenous and endogenous factors. In Central Kalimantan, 232 qualified lecturers served as the research population. The direct and indirect impacts of the factors under study were examined utilizing the SEM Amos analytic approach. The study's findings suggest that professor performance is not directly impacted by servant leadership. These findings suggest that the impact of servant leadership on lecturer performance might be totally mediated by organizational commitment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Emerging adults' relationship development is an increasingly multi-faceted process characterized by ambiguity. Just talking has emerged as a phrase to characterize early relationship formation in popular culture, yet it remains understudied in the empirical literature. Constructivist grounded theory was used to explore this phenomenon in modern romantic relationship formation employing nine focus groups (N = 52) of emerging adult men and women from two large Midwestern universities. Eleven unique themes were generated to identify how emerging adult men and women conceptualize just talking (pre-dating, ambiguity about commitment, unofficial romantic label), reasons for just talking (pressure to keep options open, protection from rejection, testing the waters, avoiding defining the relationship), and how technology may facilitate the just talking process (increases the pool of potential partners, comfortable frequent contact, image crafting, less effort required). The findings have substantial implications for educators, clinicians, and other professionals who work with emerging adults. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article presents a new, RELIC (Real Love In Context) theory of love. The theory contains three subtheories. Two of them constitute an endosystem, or inner system of love. The triangular theory, an interpersonal theory, describes love in term of the intimacy, passion, and commitment one feels toward another person. The theory of love as a story, an intrapersonal theory, describes stories that characterize one's ideal depiction of what love should and potentially could be. The third, extrapersonal subtheory constitutes an ecosystem, or outer system of love. Drawing on the work of Urie Bronfenbrenner, it describes five hierarchically nested environmental systems (microsystem, mesosystem, exosytem, macrosystem, chronosystem) in which love is embedded and that continually affect the love one feels for another. The forces of the ecosystem act upon the endosystem in ways that can bring couples (or larger groups) together or drive them apart. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study examined the potential mediating roles of relationship satisfaction and dual-career lifestyle satisfaction in the association between investments and commitment to a relationship. The participants comprise 213 Turkish dual-career married couples (N = 426) between the ages of 19–60, who have been married for at least seven months. Two models were proposed, and the Actor-Partner Interdependence Mediation Model (APIMeM) was conducted to test these models. The results revealed that the associations of both past and planned intangible investments to commitment were partially mediated through relationship satisfaction for both wives and husbands. This study provided support for the dyadic nature of the association between intangible investments and commitment via relationship satisfaction in Turkish dual-career married couples and discussed the findings in relation to the relevant literature. - Abstract
Until the 1980s, significant numbers of children were accommodated in the UK in residential nurseries. In common with trends internationally, a huge shift away from institutional care has taken place. The foster care system began to expand significantly as changes in legislation and practice and social factors such as the impact of substance misuses, began to drive an increase in the number of babies and infants being removed from their birth families and placed in foster care. Yet while there are wellestablished orthodoxies around the recruitment of foster carers, the placement of children, and the support provided to the children, their carers and the placement overall, research into what makes for successful foster care is lacking. Family researchers have considered the presence of marriage plans to distinguish between non-marital cohabiting unions. We assess, in the context of emerging adulthood, whether marriage plans differentiate between cohabitors in terms of psychological well-being. Analyzing data from the Toledo Adolescent Relationships Study (TARS), we examined associations for depressive and anxiety symptoms in a sample of 300 emerging adult cohabitors. We also compared cohabitors with 216 married emerging adults (total N = 516). We also assessed relationship quality and economic security as possible confounding factors. Results suggested that cohabitors without marriage plans experienced more frequent anxiety and depressive symptoms. However, significant associations did not remain in multivariable models, particularly when considering economic security. Findings indicate that marriage plans may be inadequate for differentiating between cohabitors' well-being. We find that economic security and discrete relationship quality measures better explain differences than marriage plans. These findings add to burgeoning research on cohabitation in emerging adulthood. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper contributes to the burgeoning literature on entrepreneurial commitment by providing a first empirical investigation of Howard Becker's side-bet theory in the context of nascent entrepreneurship. We investigate how different forms of commitment relate to both entrepreneurial behavior and various side-bet categories: satisfying conditions, non-work concerns, others' expectations, impersonal bureaucratic arrangements, perceived lack of alternatives, individual adjustments to social positions, and self-presentation concerns. We collected data from a representative sample (n = 242) of individuals granted with the French national student-entrepreneur status (NSES). Results froms hierarchical linear regressions reveal different patterns of side bets associated with entrepreneurial commitment, depending on its nature (value-based or exchange-based) and on its focus (the project or the profession). Our study (1) extends side-bet theory to the field of entrepreneurship and (2) improves understanding of factors associated with commitment during the volitional phase of the entrepreneurial process. - Abstract
Over the years, energy saving and climate change have sparked a challenge in developing innovative spatial and urban planning tools, methods, and approaches for urban areas and territorial management. This challenge has pointed out a gap in the traditional planning framework in tackling energy and climate issues, highlighting the need for renovated spatial planning practices. The current effective measures carried out by the complex network of stakeholders (public and private) are fragmented, and the role of city networks in shaping decisions and interventions has emerged. In particular, among the approaches for urban and territorial planning and the development of climate-responsive measures, this research adopts a specific focus on voluntary planning. The authors, through a literature review and an analysis of nine city networks, investigated how this approach addresses energy and climate issues and how it is linked to the city networks in designing investments and interventions within the urban context. From the authors' perspective, city networks are the operative component in designing local experiences and applications, contributing to achievement of the global energy and climate targets according to the current policies. In this context, successful results with respect to climate and energy challenges is expressed in the degree of the awareness and the commitment achieved by the local communities. Moreover, reaching the climate and energy goals is a representation of the outcome of the interaction between the (public or private) actors involved and the degree of a city's climate-responsiveness, rather than from a normative constraint or an institutional framework. The strategic importance of commitment in bargaining is widely acknowledged. Yet disentangling its role from key features of canonical models, such as proposal power and reputational concerns, is difficult. This paper introduces a model of bargaining with strategic commitment at its core. Following Schelling (1956, The American Economic Review , vol. 46, 281–306), commitment ability stems from the costly nature of concession and is endogenously determined by players' demands. Agreement is immediate for familiar bargainers, modelled via renegotiation-proofness. The unique prediction at the high concession cost limit provides a strategic foundation for the Kalai bargaining solution. Equilibria with delay feature a form of gradualism in demands. The purpose of the study is to investigate and assess the teaching effectiveness of the faculty members in a private college in Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines. Respondents of this survey included 362 learners from various departments namely the College of Arts, Sciences and Education - Information Technology aptly called CASE-IT, College of Business, Management and Accountancy "CBMA," College of Engineering and Technology "CET," School of Medical Sciences "SMS," and School of Criminology "SOC." The researchers used frequency, mean, standard deviation, and chi-square as statistical tools. Mean and frequency were used in measuring the Age, Sex, and Department. Standard deviation was used to measure the extent of the scattered set of values. Chi-square was used in determining the significant relationship between the respondents' profile and their perspectives on teaching effectiveness. The mean was used for questions that require a five-point Likert Scale to assess their corresponding qualitative description. The findings of this study revealed that the learners perceived their faculty members' teaching effectiveness as very satisfactory in terms of commitment, knowledge of the subject, teaching for independent learning, and management of learning. Differences occurred in the learner's perspective in each department, revealing each strength and weakness in the faculty member's teaching effectiveness. Furthermore, the results imply that the faculty members' teaching effectiveness can be effectively enhanced by continuous professional development programs, peer observation programs, mentorship programs, recognition and appreciation of the faculty members, supportive leadership collaboration between the faculty members and administration, and promoting healthy worklife balance for the faculty members. Introduction: Moral distress is consecutively observed as a result of moral decisions in nurses. Increasing commitment to professional ethics codes and rituals can help nurses in making ethical decisions. This research was conducted with the aim of investigating the relationship between nurses' moral distress and their commitment to professional ethics code among nurses working in Arak, 2023. Methods & Materials: In this descriptive-analytical study, 135 nurses from the selected hospitals of Arak, including Valiasr Hospital, Taleghani Hospital, and Amirul Mominin Hospital, were selected on a quota basis and available in 2023. Corelli's moral distress tool (2002) and measuring nurses' performance according to Pour Zanjani et al.'s nursing code of ethics (2013) were used to collect data. The data were analyzed after being collected by descriptive and inferential tests with SPSS software version 26. Results: In this research, 73.3% of the samples were male and 26.7% were female with an average age of 33.5±18.65 years. The majority of nurses were employed in the emergency department and 88.9% had a bachelor's degree. The results showed that the level of moral distress in half of the nurses was high. In this study, there was an inverse and significant relationship between nurses' moral distress and compliance with professional ethics (p < 0.001, r = -0.425). The results showed that the lowest level of commitment and performance to the professional ethics of nurses was in the dimension of education and research. Conclusion: The findings of the present study showed that the average level of moral distress in nurses was not at the desired level, and the increase in moral distress is related to the decrease in commitment to the rules of professional ethics. Therefore, it is suggested that the managers of medical centers pay more attention to the implementation of professional ethics by nurses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article analyzes the evolution of the concept of commitment in the credit institutions of our country through the examination of the periodical publications issued by these organizations. The study begins with the analysis of the new business discourse, within the so-called management culture, whose main objective is to mold the employee's subjectivity in order to adopt the organization's objectives and in which commitment would represent a central aspect. Next, the transformation that the financial system has undergone in our country in recent years is described, allowing the analysis to be framed in a context marked by greater competitiveness and flexibility and within which the financial crisis suffered in 2008 will mark a turning point in the policies followed by these entities, with a sharp reduction in the number of employees and branches. Within the study carried out on the discourses of these credit institutions, we analyze their transformation from a situation in which the organization itself is responsible for promoting these values close to management to a new scenario in which the individual is responsible for providing these features and becoming responsible for the evolution of the institution according to the contribution and involvement that he/she deploys. In addition, these institutions promote the establishment of a new meaning of work itself. The individual will not only obtain a salary consideration for the tasks performed but will become a method by which he/she can be fulfilled as a person by promoting ideals of which he/ she will be part due to his/her belonging and contribution to the development of the entity. Finally, due to the central role that these behaviors represent for these organizations, we analyze how these entities tend to periodically evaluate and measure the commitment displayed by their staff. Respect has been shown to be an important aspect of romantic relationships. The current research explored whether the associations that status-based respect and inclusion-based respect had with romantic commitment would be mediated by satisfaction, investment, and the perceived quality of alternative romantic partners. Study 1 examined these associations with an undergraduate sample (N = 200), whereas Study 2 replicated the results of Study 1 using a community sample (N = 264). Study 3 (N = 187) extended these results by focusing on a specific situation in which participants felt either disrespected or respected by their romantic partners. Across these studies, status-based respect and inclusion-based respect were associated with romantic commitment. For example, status-based respect and inclusion-based respect had associations with commitment that were mediated by satisfaction in each study. The findings of the current studies indicate that people who experience disrespect in their relationships tend to be less satisfied, which, in turn, may lead to them being less committed to maintaining their relationships. In our discussion, we explore how status-based respect and inclusion-based respect can offer insights into understanding commitment to romantic relationships. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

NORMATIVITY (Ethics) , *DEFINITIONS - Abstract
According to an influential view, asserting a proposition involves undertaking some "commitment" to the truth of that proposition. But accounts of what it is for someone to be committed to the truth of a proposition are often vague or imprecise, and are rarely put to work to define assertion. This article aims to fill this gap. It offers a precise characterisation of assertoric commitment, and applies it to define assertion. On the proposed view, acquiring commitment is not sufficient for asserting: To assert, commitment must be acquired by explicitly presenting a proposition as true. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

"The Birth of Ethics", which is summarized here, argues that creatures like us who lacked prescriptive concepts of a kind with desirability and responsibility would be robustly likely to develop practices of mutual commitment that would prompt the evolution of such concepts, giving them access to corresponding properties. That development and evolution would be explicable without reliance on prescriptive concepts, supporting a form of naturalistic realism about ethics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Walking is a beneficial healthy lifestyle for fibromyalgia patients as it reduces the intensity of pain and fatigue experienced and improves quality of life. In this context, self-efficacy and commitment are potential predictors of walking for women with fibromyalgia. Present study aims at examining the moderation role of exercise commitment in the association between self-efficacy for walking and walking behavior in this population. Method: It is a cross‑sectional study. A total of 132 women with fibromyalgia participated (mean age = 57.63, SD = 10.44) between January and December 2018. Self-efficacy about walking was assessed through Spanish version of self-efficacy scale for physical activity scale (SEPAS) and exercise commitment through ad-hoc questionnaire (two Likert-type items about the committed action of physical activity). Walking behavior was measured using accelerometers for seven consecutive days. Pain and fatigue prior to placement of the accelerometer were evaluated as possible covariates. Regarding medical history, time since onset of symptoms (i.e. pain, fatigue) and since diagnosis, and medication were also assessed as possible covariates. Results: A moderation effect of exercise commitment was found in the relationship between self-efficacy on walking behavior (B = 10.48, p =.021, 95%, CI = 0.61 to 6.79). Post-hoc analyses showed a significant and positive relationship between self-efficacy and walking only with high commitment to physical activity (t = 10.08, p =.027, 95%, CI = 3.77 to 5.64). Conclusions: Self-efficacy for walking and commitment should be assessed and potentially targeted when focusing on increasing walking in women with fibromyalgia. Key Points • Associations between walking self-efficacy and exercise engagement provide indications of modifiable targets for promoting an active lifestyle in fibromyalgia. • When patients feel engaged in their physical exercise pattern (walking), patients feel more able to perform the behavior. • Rehabilitation interventions, focused on chronic pain, should contemplate the promotion of self-efficacy and engagement. Purpose: Pro-relational opportunism (PRO) is of growing concern in today's business environment. The premise of this study is to investigate the issues that remain relatively underexplored in previous research – antecedents of supplier PRO and how supplier PRO affects the trust and commitment of brand firms. Methodology: Three scenario-based experiments were applied to test the hypotheses. In Studies 1a and 1b, we used a 1 × 2 (Study 1a – inter-organizational identification: low versus high; Study 1b – supplier dependence: low versus high) between-subjects design. Participants were asked to evaluate their ethical philosophies after reading the scenarios. We ran a regression analysis to test for the main and interactive effects of inter-organizational identification, supplier dependence, and ethical philosophy on supplier PRO. Study 2 used a 1 × 2 (supplier PRO: PRO acting versus non-PRO acting) between-subjects design. The bootstrapping method using PROCESS was applied to run a mediation analysis. Findings: This study finds that inter-organizational identification, supplier dependence, and managers' ethical philosophy (utilitarianism and relativism) may increase suppliers' PRO behavior. Utilitarianism and relativism positively moderate the effects of inter-organizational identification and supplier dependence on supplier PRO. Supplier PRO has both a direct and negative impact on the brand firm's commitment and an indirect effect mediated by trust. Research implications: This study provides insight into drivers and outcomes of supplier PRO based on the relationships with brand firms. Influences of inter-organizational determinants are dependent on individual factors. This research extends the supply chain opportunism literature beyond the typically dyadic perspective. Practical implications: Brand firms should be cautioned that strong inter-organizational identification may promote supplier PRO. In addition, brand firms should encourage dependent suppliers to find ethical ways to promote alternative attractiveness. In seeking to avoid damage to the trust and commitment of brand firms, suppliers need to establish systems and norms to help managers develop correct ethical philosophies and understand the harm of PRO behavior. Originality/value/contribution: This research may be the first to examine the antecedents of supplier PRO and its boundary conditions in multi-level settings (i.e. inter-organizational and individual levels). Moreover, this study deepens our understanding of opportunism by further developing the consequences of PRO. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The diverse content of and ease of listening to podcasts have made podcasts popular, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Advertisers have begun to recognize their marketing potential and are now hiring podcasters to recommend their products. This study sought to determine the factors influencing podcast commitment, parasocial interaction (PSI), and the intention to purchase podcaster-endorsed items. It was conducted in Taiwan with a sample size of 578 participants and an online questionnaire. Structural equation modeling and mediation analysis were applied to the collected data from the perspective of uses and gratifications theory. We found that podcast commitment is positively related to edutainment, storytelling transportation, and social engagement. Social engagement is positively related to PSI, while storytelling transportation has a negative relationship with PSI. Additionally, there is a strong positive correlation between podcast commitment and PSI and both factors positively influence the intention to purchase podcaster-endorsed items. PSI also significantly moderates the positive relationship between podcast commitment and the intent to buy podcaster-endorsed items. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
