The aim of this paper is to analyze the characteristics of the corresponding author (CA) in the area of Information Metric Studies.More specifically, we analyze the role of the CA in the articles published in co-authorship in the Journal of informetrics (JOI) in2016, from two different perspectives: i) the bibliometric characteristics of the CAs; ii) the understanding of the role of the CAby the authors listed in the papers. We carried out the analysis in two stages: 1) identification of the percentage of participation inthe main phases of the development of the article and the h index of the CAs by type of authorship, categorizing the contributionsof the authors using the information from the JOI submission forms; 2) qualitative evaluation of the role of the CA accordingto the understanding of the articles' authors, using as a basis the responses of a questionnaire sent to the authors (Hilário, 2020).e results of the analysis include the bibliometric indicators related to the CA by type of authorship (double, triple, quadrupleor more): position of the CA in the line of authorship; total percentage of contribution by the CA in the main phases of the development of research; h index; as well as the understanding of the 30 authors who answered the questionnaire regarding the role of the correspondence author in the development of research.

This research aims to diachronically analyze the worldwide scientific production on open access, in the academic and scientific context, in order to contribute to knowledge and visualization of its main actors. As a method, bibliographical, descriptive and analytical research was used, with the contribution of bibliometric studies, especially the production indicators, scientific collaboration and indicators of thematic co-occurrence. The Scopus database was used as a source to retrieve the articles on the subject, with a resulting corpus of 1179 articles. Using Bibexcel software, frequency tables were constructed for the variables, and Pajek software was used to visualize the collaboration network and VoSViewer for the construction of the keywords’ network. As for the results, the most productive researchers come from countries such as the United States, Canada, France and Spain. Journals with higher impact in the academic community have disseminated the new constructed knowledge. A collaborative network with a few subnets where co-authors are from different countries has been observed. As conclusions, this study allows identifying the themes of debates that mark the development of open access at the international level, and it is possible to state that open access is one of the new emerging and frontier fields of library and information science.

The universe of analysis was the set of PQ fellowship doctors supervised by Aldo Barreto, Senior PQ researcher in the area of Information Science. The methodological procedure retrieved the set of articles published by Aldo Barreto and his PQ scholarship descendants. Next, we identified the authors cited in this research corpus and calculated the normalized rates of Author Bibliographic Coupling between Aldo Barreto and the analyzed descendant researchers. The strongest theoretical proximity occurred between Aldo Barreto and his students Maria N. González de Gomez, Regina M. Marteleto and Carlos H. M. Almeida. We observed a steady influence by Pierre Bourdieu and Michel Foucault in the academic genealogy network. We concluded that the Bibliographic Coupling Method contributed to the analysis of the transmission strength of scientific identity in the genealogical lineage of the group of studied researchers. Objective: This research analyzes the interdomain of Metrics of Information (MSI) in Medicine, in order to recognize theoretically and empirically the relations of production represented there. It uses a set of 132 articles extracted from Scopus as a corpus of analysis, produced by the most representative Brazilian authors of the interdomain.Method: As methodological modality it adopts the content analysis of the questionnaire answers applied to the authors representing this interdomain, to objectify their perceptions about their related research practices in MSI, as well as the scientific periodical production analysis. Thus, it apprehends their perceptions about the research activities that they have been carrying out in MSI. As results, it confronts the periodical scientific production of the authors with their answers to the questionnaire, describing the cohesion between their discourses and their scientific production practices.Results: show self - knowledge related to the practices of researchers of MSI domain, bringing to light the nature of their difficulties in the development of their studies, that can be methodological, theoretical, or stemming from the absence of social recognition of incipient interdomain. It observes curricular limitations and opportunities of contribution from the field of MSI beyond the own field, as a fruitful interrelation especially in what concerns to the improvement of studies related to science management and evaluation for the field of Medicine.Conclusions: Finally, it considers interdomain analysis as an opportunity to contribute or collaborate between fields to perform meta-surveys. Analisa o interdomínio de Estudos Métricos da Informação (EMI) na Medicina, a fim de reconhecer teórica e empiricamente as relações de produção científica ali representadas. Utiliza como corpus de análise, um conjunto de 132 artigos extraídos da base Scopus, produzidos pelos autores brasileiros mais representativos do interdomínio. Como modalidade metodológica adota a análise de conteúdo das respostas do questionário aplicado aos autores representantes desse interdomínio, para objetivar suas percepções sobre as próprias práticas de pesquisa relacionadas aos EMI, bem como a análise da produção periódica científica desses autores. Apreende assim, suas percepções sobre as atividades de pesquisa que vêm realizando no âmbito dos EMI. Como resultados, confronta a produção periódica científica dos autores com suas respostas, descrevendo a coesão entre seus discursos e suas práticas de produção científica. Por fim, considera as análises de interdomínios como uma oportunidade de contribuição ou colaboração entre campos para a realização de metapesquisas.

This research aims to analyze the contribution of multivariate statistics as a method to support the understanding of the complex methodology of graduate assessment conducted by Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel. More specifically, this research seeks to identify the cluster of graduate programs in Information Science generated by cluster analysis and the data generated by boxplot graphics, based on the set of indicators content in the Comparative Spreadsheets of Triennial Assessment of the area, and then comparing groups of graduate programs, according to the concept obtained by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel assessment, with the result of the cluster obtained by cluster analysis, in order to verify the participation and adequacy of indicators in the allocation of concepts of graduate programs. For all 14 graduate programs of Information Science area, evaluated in the last triennial years (2010-2012), the following indicators were analyzed: total of theses and dissertations, total of papers published, according to Qualis stratification, total of papers published in conference proceedings, books and chapters, full text, collections, and other entries and artistic production published, weighted by faculty member. According to the results, it was observed that while the formed clusters present similar concepts, only the indicators present in the Comparative Spreadsheets of Triennial Assessment were not sufficient to discern them, the inclusion of quality indicators being necessary, since the production indicators are not sufficient to distinguish the programs according to their concepts. Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo geral analisar a contribuição de técnicas estatísticas uni-multivariadas como um método de suporte ao entendimento da complexa metodologia de avaliação de programas de pósgraduação realizada pela Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior. De forma mais específica, esta pesquisa busca identificar os agrupamentos dos programas de pós-graduação em Ciência da Informação, gerados pela análise de cluster e os dados gerados pelos gráficos boxplot, com base no conjunto de indicadores presentes na Planilha Comparativa da Avaliação Trienal da área. Posteriormente, comparou-se os grupos de programas de pósgraduação, segundo a nota obtida pela avaliação com o resultado do agrupamento obtido pela análise de cluster, a fim de visualizar a participação e suficiência dos indicadores na atribuição dos conceitos dos programas de pós-graduação. Para os 14 programas de pós-graduação da área de Ciência da Informação, no triênio 2013, analisaram-se os seguintes indicadores: total de teses e dissertações defendidas, média de artigos publicados segundo a estratificação Qualis, média de trabalhos completos publicados em anais de eventos técnico-científicos, livros, capítulos de livro, texto integral, coletâneas, verbetes e outros e produção artística, ponderados por docente permanente. De acordo com os resultados obtidos, observou-se que, embora os agrupamentos formados apresentem conceitos próximos, apenas os indicadores presentes na Planilha não são suficientes para discerni-los, sendo necessária a inclusão de indicadores qualitativos, uma vez que os indicadores de produção não são suficientes para distinguir os programas de acordo com seus conceitos.

The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between the quantitative indicators used by CAPES and the final grade of each graduate program through the application of multivariate statistical procedures, in order to contribute to a better understanding of the Brazilian graduate program evaluation system. We evaluated all 26 graduate programs in the area of Mathematics during the 2007-2009 triennium through multivariate methods according to the following indicators: total number of theses and dissertations defended and average of published articles per permanent professor, according to Qualis stratification. It was observed that, in all cluster analyses, graduate programs with grade 3 were always gathered in one single group, while the ones with other grades were gradually separated with the insertion of more analysis of indicators. In addition, the more indicators were included in the analysis, the more refined and close to the grades attributed by CAPES were the results. O objetivo desta pesquisa é analisar a relação entre os indicadores quantitativos, utilizados na CAPES, e o conceito final de cada programa de pósgraduação, por meio da aplicação de procedimentos estatísticos multivariados, a fim de contribuir para a compreensão do sistema de avaliação da pós-graduação brasileira. Para o conjunto dos 26 programas de pós-graduação da área de Matemática, no triênio 2007-2009, foram avaliados, por meio de métodos multivariados, os seguintes indicadores: total de teses e dissertações defendidas e média de artigos por docente permanente, segundo a estratificação Qualis. Observou-se, em todas as Análises de clusters realizadas, que os programas com conceito CAPES 3 aglutinaram-se sempre em um único grupo, ao passo que os demais foram se separando à medida em que foram inseridos mais indicadores na análise. Ainda, quanto mais indicadores foram incluídos na análise, mais refinado e próximo do conceito atribuído pela CAPES foi o resultado.
