There are several complex and unpredictable aspects that affect the power grid. To make short-term power load forecasting more accurate, a short-term power load forecasting model that utilizes the VMD-Crossformer is suggested in this paper. First, the ideal number of decomposition layers was ascertained using a variational mode decomposition (VMD) parameter optimum approach based on the Pearson correlation coefficient (PCC). Second, the original data was decomposed into multiple modal components using VMD, and then the original data were reconstructed with the modal components. Finally, the reconstructed data were input into the Crossformer network, which utilizes the cross-dimensional dependence of multivariate time series (MTS) prediction; that is, the dimension-segment-wise (DSW) embedding and the two-stage attention (TSA) layer were designed to establish a hierarchical encoder–decoder (HED), and the final prediction was performed using information from different scales. The experimental results show that the method could accurately predict the electricity load with high accuracy and reliability. The MAE, MAPE, and RMSE were 61.532 MW, 1.841%, and 84.486 MW, respectively, for dataset I. The MAE, MAPE, and RMSE were 68.906 MW, 0.847%, and 89.209 MW, respectively, for dataset II. Objectives: In several disorders, the monocyte to high-density lipoprotein ratio (MHR) has been considered a biomarker of systemic inflammation and oxidative stress. However, its role in Bell's palsy (BP) remains unclear. This study investigates the relationship between elevated MHR and poor recovery in BP patients. Methods: The clinical data of 729 BP patients were analyzed retrospectively. The House-Brackmann Facial Nerve Grading System (H-B) was utilized to assess the severity of facial motor dysfunction during admission and the follow-up period after discharge. According to the 6 months follow-up data, H-B grades 1–2 were classified as recovered (n = 557), and H-B grades 3–6 as unrecovered (n = 172). The patients were split into MHR ≤ 0.26 (n = 361) and MHR > 0.26 (n = 368) groups based on the median MHR to further analyze the connection between different MHRs and prognosis. Results: The level of MHR was substantially greater in the unrecovered group of BP patients than in the restored group (medians[interquartile range], 0.32[0.20, 0.49] vs 0.24[0.11, 0.39], P < 0.001). MHR was an independent risk factor for BP prognosis as indicated by the multivariate logistic regression analysis (OR = 4.467, 95% CI = 1.875–10.646, P = 0.001). The area under the curve (AUC) was 0.615 (95% CI = 0.566–0.664, P < 0.001). The initial H-B score did not differ significantly between MHR ≤ 0.26 (n = 361) and MHR > 0.26 (n = 368) groups. However, after 6 months of follow-up, the high-MHR group's H-B score was considerably greater than the low-MHR group's. Conclusions: MHR is expected to be an accessible and effective biomarker of BP. The etiology of Bell's palsy (BP) is currently unknown, and the findings from previous studies examining the association between seasonal or meteorological factors and BP have been inconsistent. This research aims to clarify this relationship by analyzing a larger dataset and employing appropriate statistical methods. Data from 5387 patients with BP treated at Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, from May 1, 2018, to June 30, 2023, was gathered. We assessed the temporal distribution of meteorological factors and the incidence of BP across seasons and months. A distributed lag non-linear model was used to further investigate the lagged and overall effects of temperature and air pressure on the onset of BP. The temporal distribution of BP incidence revealed the highest average number of cases occurring in December and the lowest in June. A correlation existed between BP episodes and temperature or air pressure. The model revealed a higher relative risk during periods of low temperature and high air pressure, characterized by a time lag effect. This correlation was notably more pronounced in female patients and individuals in the young and middle-aged groups. Background: Recently, the roles of purinergic receptor P2X ligand-gated ion channel 7 (P2X7) polymorphisms in tuberculosis (TB) were analyzed by some pilot studies, but the results of these studies were inconsistent. We performed this study to better assess the relationship between P2X7 polymorphisms and the odds of TB. Methods: Eligible studies were searched in PubMed, MEDLINE, and Embase. Odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals were calculated. Results: A total of 21 studies were included for analyses. Significant associations with the odds of TB were detected for rs3751143 polymorphism in dominant (p = 0.01), recessive (p < 0.0001), additive (p = 0.0002), and allele models (p < 0.0001) in overall analyses. Further subgroup analyses based on the ethnicity of participants revealed that the rs1718119 polymorphism is significantly associated with the odds of TB in Asians and the rs3751143 polymorphism with the odds of TB in Caucasians. Conclusion: Our findings indicate that rs1718119 polymorphism may serve as a potential biological marker of TB in Asians and the rs3751143 polymorphism as a potential biological marker of TB in Caucasians. In the ultrasonic welding system, the ultrasonic power supply drives the piezoelectric transducer to work in the resonant state to realize the conversion of electrical energy into mechanical energy. In order to obtain stable ultrasonic energy and ensure welding quality, this paper designs a driving power supply based on an improved LC matching network with two functions, frequency tracking and power regulation. First, in order to analyze the dynamic branch of the piezoelectric transducer, we propose an improved LC matching network, in which three voltage RMS values are used to analyze the dynamic branch and discriminate the series resonant frequency. Further, the driving power system is designed using the three RMS voltage values as feedback. A fuzzy control method is used for frequency tracking. The double closed-loop control method of the power outer loop and the current inner loop is used for power regulation. Through MATLAB software simulation and experimental testing, it is verified that the power supply can effectively track the series resonant frequency and control the power while being continuously adjustable. Noise smoothing is significant in image processing applications. Precipitated by previous research, this paper aims at reducing the noise using the Kalman filter. First, an image model based on Markov random field is built. Then the standard Kalman filter is implemented as a smoother. In order for the innovation to be fully used by the filter, the multi-innovation is introduced to improve the filtering/smoothing performance. Experimental results validate the proposed methods. We investigate the generation of high repetition frequency electron beam from vacuum arc plasma source, which consists of Cu cathode and hollow anode. The frequency and pulse width of the extraction pulse power supply based on MOSFET can be adjusted continuously. A self-trigger circuit is designed to immediately reignite DC arc after its extinguishment and guarantee the discharge duration time and stability. The experimental results show that the repletion frequency and pulse width of the electron beam are controlled by the extraction pulse voltage parameters. With a certain discharge current, the beam current increases with the increasing extraction voltage and shows a saturation limit up to 1A. However, the extraction voltage with too high pulse frequency or pulse width is not conducive to the stability of the beam current. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Bronchoscopic cryotherapy facilitates the treatment of endobronchial tuberculosis (EBTB) and helps suppress progressive bronchial stenosis. However, the molecular mechanism of bronchoscopic cryotherapy in EBTB patients has not been reported. Transcriptome sequencing was performed to explore differentially expressed mRNAs (DEGs) in EBTB patients before and after bronchoscopic cryotherapy. Gene Ontology (GO) and KEGG analyses were carried out. Five genes (MKLN1 , HIGD1A , PTGES , SKIL , and MCEMP1) were selected and validated using real-time qPCR (RT- qPCR). In transcriptome analysis, 448 DEGs with p < 0.05 and|logFC| > 1 were identified; of these, 171 and 277 DEGs were significantly up- and down-regulated after bronchoscopic cryotherapy, respectively. Results displayed 337 biological process (GO-BP), 48 cellular component (GO-CC) and 62 molecular function (GO-MF) terms and 20 KEGG pathways. RT- qPCR results were consistent with the sequencing data. These data provide informative evidence and recommendations for further scientific research on bronchoscopic cryotherapy for EBTB. • We firstly identified transcriptome map of EBTB patients before and after bronchoscopy cryotherapy treatment. • The results showed that 448 DEGs (171 upregulated and 277 downregulated) were obtained between BCT group and ACT group. • These results provide a theoretical basis for further exploring the molecular mechanism of bronchoscopy cryotherapy for EBTB.
