Cesium doped WO3 (Cs-WO3) photocatalyst with high and stable oxidation activity was successfully synthesized by a one-step hydrothermal method using Cs2CO3 as the doped metal ion source and tungstic acid (H2WO4) as the tungsten source. A series of analytical characterization tools and oxygen precipitation activity tests were used to compare the effects of different additions of Cs2CO3 on the crystal structure and microscopic morphologies. The UV–visible diffuse reflectance spectra (DRS) of Cs-doped material exhibited a significant red shift in the absorption edge with new shoulders appearing at 440–520 nm. The formation of an oxygen vacancy was confirmed in Cs-WO3 by the EPR signal, which can effectively regulate the electronic structure of the catalyst surface and contribute to improving the activity of the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). The photocatalytic OER results showed that the Cs-WO3-0.1 exhibited the optimal oxygen precipitation activity, reaching 58.28 µmol at 6 h, which was greater than six times higher than that of WO3-0 (9.76 μmol). It can be attributed to the synergistic effect of the increase in the conduction band position of Cs-WO3-0.1 (0.11 V) and oxygen vacancies compared to WO3-0, which accelerate the electron conduction rate and slow down the rapid compounding of photogenerated electrons–holes, improving the water-catalytic oxygen precipitation activity of WO3.

PurposeThis study aimed to analyze the severity of the condition and prognosis of patients with anti-gamma-aminobutyric-acid type B receptor (anti-GABABR) encephalitis with tumors.MethodsPatients with anti-GABABR encephalitis admitted to one of two hospitals from 2020 to 2022 were enrolled and divided into tumor and non-tumor groups. The clinical characteristics, condition severity, treatment options, and prognosis of the two groups of patients were compared and analyzed.ResultsEighteen patients with anti-GABABR encephalitis were included, ten of whom had tumors. The comparison of clinical characteristics showed that rates of status epilepticus and coma were significantly higher in the group with tumors (P = 0.013 and P = 0.025, respectively); the incidences of pulmonary infection, respiratory failure, hyponatremia, and hypoproteinemia were also substantially more frequent in the tumor group (P = 0.054, P = 0.036, P = 0.015, and P = 0.025, respectively). The laboratory test result comparison showed that serum neuron-specific enolase (NSE) and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) were present only in the group with tumors (P = 0.036 and P = 0.092, respectively), but there was no significant difference in the occurrence of elevated CEA between the two groups. Conversely, the percentage of serum systemic autoimmune antibodies was higher in the group without tumors than in the group with tumors (P = 0.043). Patients with tumors tended to have poor outcomes (P = 0.152, OR: 7.000).ConclusionSevere brain damage and complications occur in patients with anti-GABABR encephalitis and comorbid tumors. Early screening for serum NSE and CEA helps in the early diagnosis and treatment of tumors. The prognosis is much worse for anti-GABABR encephalitis with tumors.

Spaceflight and microgravity has a significant impact on the immune, central nervous, bone, and muscle support and cardiovascular systems. However, limited studies are available on the adverse effects of long-term microgravity on the intestinal microbiota, metabolism, and its relationships. In this study, a ground-based simulated microgravity (SMG) mouse model was established to evaluate the impact of long-term microgravity on gut microbiota and metabolome. After 8 weeks of SMG, alterations of the intestinal microbiota and metabolites were detected using 16S rRNA sequencing and untargeted metabolomics. Compared to the control, no significant differences in α-diversity were observed at weeks 2, 4 and 8. Nevertheless, there were clear differences in community structures at different time points. The phylum Verrucomicrobia significantly declined from 2 to 8 weeks of SMG, yet the relative abundance of Actinobacteria and Deferribacteres expanded remarkably at weeks 8. SMG decreased the genus of Allobaculum and increased Bacteroides significantly throughout the period of 8 weeks. Besides, Genus Akkermansia, Gracilibacter, Prevotella, Odoribacter, Rothia, Sporosarcina, Gracilibacter, Clostridium, and Mucispirillum were identified as biomarkers for SMG group. Desulfovibrio_c21_c20, Akkermansia_muciniphila, and Ruminococcus_gnavus dropped at week 2, which tend to recover at week 4, except for Akkermansia_muciniphila. Bacteroides_uniformis and Faecalibacterium_prausnitzii declined significantly, while Ruminococcus_flavefaciens and Mucispirillum_schaedleri elevated at week 8. Furthermore, intestinal metabolome analysis showed that 129 were upregulated and 146 metabolites were downregulated in SMG. Long-term SMG most affected steroid hormone biosynthesis, tryptophan, cysteine, methionine, arginine, proline metabolism, and histidine metabolism. Correlated analysis suggested that the potential beneficial taxa Allobaculum, Akkermansia, and Faecalibacterium were negatively associated with tryptophan, histidine, arginine, and proline metabolism, but positively with steroid hormone biosynthesis. Yet Bacteroides, Lachnospiraceae_Clostridium, Rothia, Bilophila, and Coprococcus were positively correlated with arginine, proline, tryptophan, and histidine metabolism, while negatively associated with steroid hormone biosynthesis. These results suggest that Long-term SMG altered the community of intestinal microbiota, and then further disturbed intestinal metabolites and metabolic pathways, which have great potential to help understand and provide clues for revealing the mechanisms of long-term SMG involved diseases.

A highly efficient visible-light-driven photoanode, N2-intercalated tungsten trioxide (WO3) nanorod, has been controllably synthesized by using the dual role of hydrazine (N2H4), which functioned simultaneously as a structure directing agent and as a nitrogen source for N2 intercalation. The SEM results indicated that the controllable formation of WO3 nanorod by changing the amount of N2H4. The β values of lattice parameters of the monoclinic phase and the lattice volume changed significantly with the nW: nN2H4 ratio. This is consistent with the addition of N2H4 dependence of the N content, clarifying the intercalation of N2 in the WO3 lattice. The UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectra (DRS) of N2-intercalated exhibited a significant redshift in the absorption edge with new shoulders appearing at 470–600 nm, which became more intense as the nW:nN2H4 ratio increased from 1:1.2 and then decreased up to 1:5 through the maximum at 1:2.5. This addition of N2H4 dependence is consistent with the case of the N contents. This suggests that N2 intercalating into the WO3 lattice is responsible for the considerable red shift in the absorption edge, with a new shoulder appearing at 470−600 nm owing to formation of an intra-bandgap above the VB edges and a dopant energy level below the CB of WO3. The N2 intercalated WO3 photoanode generated a photoanodic current under visible light irradiation below 530 nm due to the photoelectrochemical (PEC) water oxidation, compared with pure WO3 doing so below 470 nm. The high incident photon-to-current conversion efficiency (IPCE) of the WO3-2.5 photoanode is due to efficient electron transport through the WO3 nanorod film.

The result of radar signal sorting directly affects the performance of electronic reconnaissance equipment. Sorting method based on intra-pulse features has become a research focus in recent years. However, as the number of extracted features increases, the dimension of the feature vector becomes higher and higher. And too many dimensional feature vectors would make the complexity of the sorting algorithm increase geometrically. In this way, feature selection becomes more and more necessary. Combining the latest research on fuzzy rough sets, this paper proposes two feature selection methods, namely two-steps attribute reduction based on fuzzy dependency (TARFD) algorithm and fuzzy rough artificial bee colony (FRABC) algorithm. The TARFD method uses the candidate attribute set as starting point, according to the definition of the redundant attribute set. Then the less important attributes are successively eliminated. The FRABC method starts from the dependence degree of fuzzy rough set, and constructs a fitness function that reflects the importance of the attribute subset and the reduction rate. Based on this function, the artificial bee colony algorithm is used to reduce the attributes of the dataset. Using the TARFD and FRABC algorithms, the extracted feature sets, including entropy feature set, Zernike moment feature set, pseudo Zernike feature set, gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) feature set, and Hu-invariant moment feature set are processed, then an optimal feature subset was obtained and a sorting test was performed. The results show the effectiveness of the extracted intra-pulse features and the efficiency of the feature selection algorithm.

Abstract Background Patients with ovarian cancer commonly have a poor prognosis, owing to its invasiveness and distant metastasis. Studies have found TM4SF1 participates in regulating tumor cell invasion and migration. Therefore, it is expected to become a target for anti-invasion and metastasis in ovarian cancer. Methods The expression of TM4SF1 in normal ovarian epithelial tissues, benign ovarian tumor tissues, primary foci of epithelial ovarian cancer and the matched lymph mode metastatic foci was detected using immunohistochemistry to analyze its association with prognosis. The expression of TM4SF1 in HO8910PM, SKOV3 was inhibited using RNAi, and the growth, proliferation, migration, invasion abilities of HO8910PM and SKOV3 cells and the growth of xenograft tumors in nude mice were examined. Results (1) The positive expression rate of TM4SF1 protein in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues (90.90%) was higher than that in benign ovarian tumor tissues (65.22%) and normal ovarian epithelial tissues (31.25%), and both differences were significant (P 0.05). (3) Silencing TM4SF1 expression did not affect growth, proliferation, or cell cycle distribution but inhibited the migration and invasion abilities of HO8910PM and SKOV3 cells. Silencing TM4SF1 expression inhibited the growth of xenograft tumors in nude mice. Conclusion TM4SF1 is a potential target for anti-invasion and metastasis in ovarian cancer.

The EDS and XPS results indicated that the controllable formation of either N-doped WO3 (N-WO3) or S-N-WO3 by changing the nW:n(NH4)2S ratio below or above 1:5. Both N and S contents increased when increasing the nW:n(NH4)2S ratio from 1:0 to 1:15 and thereafter decreased up to 1:25. The UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectra (DRS) of S-N-WO3 exhibited a significant redshift of the absorption edge with new shoulders appearing at 470–650 nm, which became more intense as the nW:n(NH4)2S ratio increased from 1:5 and then decreased up to 1:25, with the maximum at 1:15. The values of nW:n(NH4)2S ratio dependence is consistent with the cases of the S and N contents. This suggests that S and N co-doped into the WO3 lattice are responsible for the considerable redshift in the absorption edge, with a new shoulder appearing at 470–650 nm owing to the intrabandgap formation above the valence band (VB) edge and a dopant energy level below the conduction band (CB) of WO3. Therefore, benefiting from the S and N co-doping, the S-N-WO3 photoanode generated a photoanodic current under visible light irradiation below 580 nm due to the photoelectrochemical (PEC) water oxidation, compared with pure WO3 doing so below 470 nm.

DNA methylation plays a vital role in diverse biological processes. DNA methyltransferases (DNMTs) genes and RNA-directed DNA methylation (RdDM)-related genes are key genes responsible for establishing and maintaining genome DNA methylation in plants. In the present study, we systematically identified nine GbDNMTs in Ginkgo biloba, including the three common families of GbMET1a/1b, GbCMT2, and GbDRMa/b/2a/2b/2c, and a fourth family—GbDNMT3—which is absent in most angiosperms. We also identified twenty RdDM-related genes, including four GbDCLs, six GbAGOs, and ten GbRDRs. Expression analysis of the genes showed the different patterns of individual genes, and 15 of 29 genes displayed expression change under five types of abiotic stress. Gene coexpression analysis and weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) using 126 public transcriptomic datasets revealed that these genes were clustered into two groups. In group I, genes covered members from all six families which were preferentially expressed in the ovulate strobile and fruit. A gene ontology (GO) enrichment analysis of WGCNA modules indicated that group I genes were most correlated with the biological process of cell proliferation. Group II only consisted of RdDM-related genes, including GbDRMs, GbAGOs, and GbRDRs, but no GbDCLs, and these genes were specifically expressed in the cambium, suggesting that they may function in a dicer-like (DCL)-independent RdDM pathway in specific tissues. The gene module related to group II was most enriched in signal transduction, cell communication, and the response to the stimulus. These results demonstrate that gene family members could be conserved or diverged across species, and multi-member families in the same pathway may cluster into different modules to function differentially. The study provides insight into the DNA methylation genes and their possible functions in G. biloba, laying a foundation for the further study of DNA methylation in gymnosperms.

With the rapid economic development and urbanization in China, subway systems have become the primary mode of urban rail transit. However, during subway operation, the tunnels may experience settlement and deformation due to various influencing factors. To guarantee safe operation of subway systems and eliminate potential safety hazards, tunnel settlement prediction has important significance. However, existing studies have seldom discussed the effects of weighting factors on subway tunnel settlement prediction. In addition, the optimization of support vector machine (SVM) using particle swarm optimization (PSO) often suffers from issues such as local optimization and premature convergence. To address these problems, grey relational analysis (GRA) and weighted particle swarm optimization (WPSO) SVM were combined, and a GRA-WPSO-SVM prediction model was constructed. This model was applied to predict subway tunnel settlement in the Sanyao Section of the Xi'an Exhibition Center in China. Prediction results from the GRAWPSO-SVM prediction model were compared with those from the PSO-SVM and SVM using root mean square error (RMSE), mean relative error (MRE), and correlation coefficient as evaluation metrics. Results demonstrate that, the RMSE and MRE of GRA-WPSO-SVM are 0.0008 m and 1.9707%, which are better than those of PSO-SVM and SVM. Moreover, prediction results of the GRA-WPSO-SVM exhibit a strong correlation with the measured data of tunnels, with a correlation coefficient of 0.93. Obviously, the GRA-WPSO-SVM is effective.
