The aim of this study was to examine whether the most commonly set nursing diagnoses and nursing medical problems among the patients on the craniocerebral rehabilitation allow fas and efficient management of the patient’s nursing care problems. The study was conducted at the Department of craniocerebral rehabilitation ; data were — collected from nursing documentation during the one-year period. The study shows the most frequent nursing diagnoses and nursing medical problems in relation to the different patient's _ characteristics. The majority of patients after traumatic head injury were admitted to rehabilitation directly from the intensive or postintensive care units due to the severity of their condition. Nurses providing neurorehabilitation care for the patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI) should have knowledge and experience in that field and be able to make a good clinical judgment. All of that is based on the knowledge of pathophysiological consequences of the TBI that affect the whole patient’s organism. All consequences after TBI: physical, cognitive, neurobiological, psychological have impact on the nursing care of such patients. Rehabilitation is conducted by a team of experts who work together to apply rehabilitation procedures which are based on past experience and evidence. When dealing according to the nursing guidelines: professionalism, holistic approach to patient care, logical problem solving through the process of nursing care, partnership and teamwork, nurse is not only assistant in the department but an active member of the interdisciplinary team.

Cilj rada bio je prospektivno prikazati frekvenciju i kliničke karakterisitike pacijenata s TOM-om na kraniocerebralnoj rehabilitaciji u SBKT tijekom jednogodišnjeg razdoblja. Kod medicinskih sestara koje provode neurorehabilitacijsku njegu pacijenata koji su doživjeli traumu glave i ozljedu mozga vrlo je važno da budu specijalizirane u tom području te da mogu samostalno napraviti osnovnu kliničku procjenu pacijenta. Sve se bazira na znanju patofizioloških posljedica TBI, moguće posljedice koje mogu utjecati na čitav organizam, fizičke, kognitivne, neurobiotičke, i psihološke posljedice koje utječu na život pacijenta i obitelji. Pristup takvom pacijentu na profesionalan, cjelovit, holistički, partnerski, timski i multidisciplinarni pristup omogućuju odlične rezultate oporavaka takvih pacijenata.
