Abstract: Dans cet article, nous centrerons notre réflexion sur le marqueur c’est vite dit en français contemporain et nous proposerons une étude contrastive avec la forme espagnole (que) se dice pronto. Au délà d’une certaine parenté formelle et autres points de convergence, il n’est pas moins vrai que leur degré de figement et la diversité des effets de sens qu’on rencontre en discours attirent notre attention sur les points de divergence. Notre intérêt est de montrer que c’est vite dit et(que) se dice pronto se prêtent à une analyse en tant que commentaires métalinguistiques participant au fait autonymique en discours. Or, leurs respectives stratégies discursives les éloignent dans la mesure où c’est vite dit marque l’anti-orientation argumentative, alors que (que) se dice pronto fait entrer en ligne le réajustement de la force argumentative. Afin de justifier nos hypothèses, nous proposerons une série de criteres, tant distributionnels que sémantico-pragmatiques, pour montrer les différentes stratégies discursives mises en place.

Abstract: The Pandora Software Development Kit and algorithm libraries perform reconstruction of neutrino interactions in liquid argon time projection chamber detectors. Pandora is the primary event reconstruction software used at the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment, which will operate four large-scale liquid argon time projection chambers at the far detector site in South Dakota, producing high-resolution images of charged particles emerging from neutrino interactions. While these high-resolution images provide excellent opportunities for physics, the complex topologies require sophisticated pattern recognition capabilities to interpret signals from the detectors as physically meaningful objects that form the inputs to physics analyses. A critical component is the identification of the neutrino interaction vertex. Subsequent reconstruction algorithms use this location to identify the individual primary particles and ensure they each result in a separate reconstructed particle. A new vertex-finding procedure described in this article integrates a U-ResNet neural network performing hit-level classification into the multi-algorithm approach used by Pandora to identify the neutrino interaction vertex. The machine learning solution is seamlessly integrated into a chain of pattern-recognition algorithms. The technique substantially outperforms the previous BDT-based solution, with a more than 20\% increase in the efficiency of sub-1\,cm vertex reconstruction across all neutrino flavours., Comment: 32 pages, 18 figures

Abstract: Thin-film solid-state metal dealloying (thin-film SSMD) is a promising method for fabricating nanostructures with controlled morphology and efficiency, offering advantages over conventional bulk materials processing methods for integration into practical applications. Although machine learning (ML) has facilitated the design of dealloying systems, the selection of key thermal treatment parameters for nanostructure formation remains largely unknown and dependent on experimental trial and error. To overcome this challenge, a workflow enabling high-throughput characterization of thermal treatment parameters while probing local nanostructures of thin-film samples is needed. In this work, a laser-based thermal treatment is demonstrated to create temperature gradients on single thin-film samples of Nb-Al/Sc and Nb-Al/Cu. This continuous thermal space enables observation of dealloying transitions and the resulting nanostructures of interest. Through synchrotron X-ray multimodal and high-throughput characterization, critical transitions and nanostructures can be rapidly captured and subsequently verified using electron microscopy. The key temperatures driving chemical reactions and morphological evolutions are clearly identified within this framework. While the oxidation process may contribute to nanostructure formation during thin-film treatment, the dealloying process at the dealloying front involves interactions solely between the dealloying elements, highlighting the availability and viability of the selected systems. 4. Origin of the rich polymorphism of gold in penta-twinned nanoparticles

Abstract: We report on the crystallographic structure of penta-twinned gold nanoparticles. Although gold typically exhibits a face-centered cubic (fcc) lattice, other phases have been reported in some nanoscale systems. We show that the crystallographic system and the lattice parameters of the gold unit cell strongly depend on the nanoparticle geometry, for a wide size range. Specifically, we show that decahedra exhibit a body-centered tetragonal structure (I4/mmm), whereas rods and bipyramids exhibit a body-centered orthorhombic structure (Immm). These changes in the crystallographic structure are explained by the elastic lattice distortions required to close the mismatch gap in penta-twinned nanoparticles, with respect to fcc single-crystal gold nanoparticles. Abstract: This paper presents the multiplicity of neutral and charged hadrons produced in 90 GeV$/c$ proton-carbon interactions from a dataset taken by the NA61/SHINE experiment in 2017. Particle identification via dE/dx was performed for the charged hadrons $\pi^\pm$, $K^\pm$, and $p / \bar{p}$; the neutral hadrons $K^0_S$, $\Lambda$, and $\bar{\Lambda}$ were identified via an invariant mass analysis of their decays to charged hadrons. Double-differential multiplicity results as a function of laboratory momentum and polar angle are presented for each particle species; these results provide vital constraints on the predicted neutrino beam flux for current and future long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments.

Abstract: This paper introduces a novel track-length extension fitting algorithm for measuring the kinetic energies of inelastically interacting particles in liquid argon time projection chambers (LArTPCs). The algorithm finds the most probable offset in track length for a track-like object by comparing the measured ionization density as a function of position with a theoretical prediction of the energy loss as a function of the energy, including models of electron recombination and detector response. The algorithm can be used to measure the energies of particles that interact before they stop, such as charged pions that are absorbed by argon nuclei. The algorithm's energy measurement resolutions and fractional biases are presented as functions of particle kinetic energy and number of track hits using samples of stopping secondary charged pions in data collected by the ProtoDUNE-SP detector, and also in a detailed simulation. Additional studies describe the impact of the dE/dx model on energy measurement performance. The method described in this paper to characterize the energy measurement performance can be repeated in any LArTPC experiment using stopping secondary charged pions.

Abstract: The international collaboration designing and constructing the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) at the Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF) has developed a two-phase strategy toward the implementation of this leading-edge, large-scale science project. The 2023 report of the US Particle Physics Project Prioritization Panel (P5) reaffirmed this vision and strongly endorsed DUNE Phase I and Phase II, as did the European Strategy for Particle Physics. While the construction of the DUNE Phase I is well underway, this White Paper focuses on DUNE Phase II planning. DUNE Phase-II consists of a third and fourth far detector (FD) module, an upgraded near detector complex, and an enhanced 2.1 MW beam. The fourth FD module is conceived as a "Module of Opportunity", aimed at expanding the physics opportunities, in addition to supporting the core DUNE science program, with more advanced technologies. This document highlights the increased science opportunities offered by the DUNE Phase II near and far detectors, including long-baseline neutrino oscillation physics, neutrino astrophysics, and physics beyond the standard model. It describes the DUNE Phase II near and far detector technologies and detector design concepts that are currently under consideration. A summary of key R&D goals and prototyping phases needed to realize the Phase II detector technical designs is also provided. DUNE's Phase II detectors, along with the increased beam power, will complete the full scope of DUNE, enabling a multi-decadal program of groundbreaking science with neutrinos.

8. On the Edge-Connectivity of the Square of a Graph

Abstract: Let $G$ be a connected graph. The edge-connectivity of $G$, denoted by $\lambda(G)$, is the minimum number of edges whose removal renders $G$ disconnected. Let $\delta(G)$ be the minimum degree of $G$. It is well-known that $\lambda(G) \leq \delta(G)$, and graphs for which equality holds are said to be maximally edge-connected. The square $G^2$ of $G$ is the graph with the same vertex set as $G$, in which two vertices are adjacent if their distance is not more that $2$. In this paper we present results on the edge-connectivity of the square of a graph. We show that if the minimum degree of a connected graph $G$ of order $n$ is at least $\lfloor \frac{n+2}{4}\rfloor$, then $G^2$ is maximally edge-connected, and this result is best possible. We also give lower bounds on $\lambda(G^2)$ for the case that $G^2$ is not maximally edge-connected: We prove that $\lambda(G^2) \geq \kappa(G)^2 + \kappa(G)$, where $\kappa(G)$ denotes the connectivity of $G$, i.e., the minimum number of vertices whose removal renders $G$ disconnected, and this bound is sharp. We further prove that $\lambda(G^2) \geq \frac{1}{2}\lambda(G)^{3/2} - \frac{1}{2} \lambda(G)$, and we construct an infinite family of graphs to show that the exponent $3/2$ of $\lambda(G)$ in this bound is best possible.

Abstract: ProtoDUNE Single-Phase (ProtoDUNE-SP) is a 770-ton liquid argon time projection chamber that operated in a hadron test beam at the CERN Neutrino Platform in 2018. We present a measurement of the total inelastic cross section of charged kaons on argon as a function of kaon energy using 6 and 7 GeV/$c$ beam momentum settings. The flux-weighted average of the extracted inelastic cross section at each beam momentum setting was measured to be 380$\pm$26 mbarns for the 6 GeV/$c$ setting and 379$\pm$35 mbarns for the 7 GeV/$c$ setting.

Abstract: The determination of the direction of a stellar core collapse via its neutrino emission is crucial for the identification of the progenitor for a multimessenger follow-up. A highly effective method of reconstructing supernova directions within the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) is introduced. The supernova neutrino pointing resolution is studied by simulating and reconstructing electron-neutrino charged-current absorption on $^{40}$Ar and elastic scattering of neutrinos on electrons. Procedures to reconstruct individual interactions, including a newly developed technique called ``brems flipping'', as well as the burst direction from an ensemble of interactions are described. Performance of the burst direction reconstruction is evaluated for supernovae happening at a distance of 10 kpc for a specific supernova burst flux model. The pointing resolution is found to be 3.4 degrees at 68% coverage for a perfect interaction-channel classification and a fiducial mass of 40 kton, and 6.6 degrees for a 10 kton fiducial mass respectively. Assuming a 4% rate of charged-current interactions being misidentified as elastic scattering, DUNE's burst pointing resolution is found to be 4.3 degrees (8.7 degrees) at 68% coverage., Comment: 25 pages, 16 figures

Abstract: Two-dimensional van der Waals magnets hosting topological magnetic textures, such as skyrmions, show promise for applications in spintronics and quantum computing. Electrical control of these topological spin textures would enable novel devices with enhanced performance and functionality. Here, using electron microscopy combined with in situ electric and magnetic biasing, we show that the skyrmion chirality, whether left-handed or right-handed, in insulating Cr2Ge2Te6, is controlled by external electric field direction applied during magnetic field cooling process. The electric-field-tuned chirality remains stable, even amid variations in magnetic and electric fields. Our theoretical investigation reveals that nonzero Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interactions between the nearest neighbors, induced by the external electric field, change their sign upon reversing the electric field direction, thereby facilitating chirality selection. Abstract: A host of medical conditions, including amputations, diabetes, stroke, and genetic disease, result in loss of touch sensation. Because most types of sensory loss have no pharmacological treatment or rehabilitative therapy, we propose a haptic sensory prosthesis that provides substitutive feedback. The wrist and forearm are compelling locations for feedback due to available skin area and not occluding the hands, but have reduced mechanoreceptor density compared to the fingertips. Focusing on localized pressure as the feedback modality, we hypothesize that we can improve on prior devices by invoking a wider range of stimulus intensity using multiple points of pressure to evoke spatial summation, which is the cumulative perceptual experience from multiple points of stimuli. Abstract: Objectives: Metabolic Bariatric Surgery (MBS) is a critical intervention for patients living with obesity and related health issues. Accurate classification and prediction of patient outcomes are vital for optimizing treatment strategies. This study presents a novel machine learning approach to classify patients in the context of metabolic bariatric surgery, providing insights into the efficacy of different models and variable types. Methods: Various machine learning models, including GaussianNB, ComplementNB, KNN, Decision Tree, KNN with RandomOverSampler, and KNN with SMOTE, were applied to a dataset of 73 patients. The dataset, comprising psychometric, socioeconomic, and analytical variables, was analyzed to determine the most efficient predictive model. The study also explored the impact of different variable groupings and oversampling techniques. Results: Experimental results indicate average accuracy values as high as 66.7% for the best model. Enhanced versions of KNN and Decision Tree, along with variations of KNN such as RandomOverSampler and SMOTE, yielded the best results. Conclusions: The study unveils a promising avenue for classifying patients in the realm of metabolic bariatric surgery. The results underscore the importance of selecting appropriate variables and employing diverse approaches to achieve optimal performance. The developed system holds potential as a tool to assist healthcare professionals in decision-making, thereby enhancing metabolic bariatric surgery outcomes. These findings lay the groundwork for future collaboration between hospitals and healthcare entities to improve patient care through the utilization of machine learning algorithms. Moreover, the findings suggest room for improvement, potentially achievable with a larger dataset and careful parameter tuning.

Abstract: The Module-0 Demonstrator is a single-phase 600 kg liquid argon time projection chamber operated as a prototype for the DUNE liquid argon near detector. Based on the ArgonCube design concept, Module-0 features a novel 80k-channel pixelated charge readout and advanced high-coverage photon detection system. In this paper, we present an analysis of an eight-day data set consisting of 25 million cosmic ray events collected in the spring of 2021. We use this sample to demonstrate the imaging performance of the charge and light readout systems as well as the signal correlations between the two. Abstract: Measurements of $K_S^0$ meson production via its $\pi^{+} \pi^{-}$ decay mode in inelastic $\textit{p+p}$ interactions at incident projectile momenta of 31, 40 and 80 GeV/$c$ ($\sqrt{s_{NN}}=7.7, 8.8$ and $12.3$ GeV, respectively) are presented. The data were recorded by the NA61/SHINE spectrometer at the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron. Double-differential distributions were obtained in transverse momentum and rapidity. The mean multiplicities of $K_S^0$ mesons were determined to be $(5.95 \pm 0.19 (stat) \pm 0.22 (sys)) \times 10^{-2}$ at 31 GeV/$c$, $(7.61 \pm 0.13 (stat) \pm 0.31 (sys)) \times 10^{-2}$ at 40 GeV/$c$ and $(11.58 \pm 0.12 (stat) \pm 0.37 (sys)) \times 10^{-2}$ at 80 GeV/$c$. Abstract: The critical point of strongly interacting matter is searched for at the CERN SPS by the NA61/SHINE experiment in central $^{40}$Ar +$^{45}$Sc collisions at 13$A$, 19$A$, 30$A$, 40$A$, and 75$A$ GeV/$c$. The dependence of the second-order scaled factorial moments of proton multiplicity distributions on the number of subdivisions in transverse momentum space is measured. The intermittency analysis uses statistically independent data sets for every subdivision in transverse and cumulative-transverse momentum variables. The results obtained do not indicate the searched intermittent pattern. 26. Utility of the Modified 5-Items Frailty Index to Predict Complications and Mortality After Elective Cervical, Thoracic and Lumbar Posterior Spine Fusion Surgery: Multicentric Analysis From ACS-NSQIP Database.

Abstract: STUDY DESIGN: Retrospective review of multicentric data. OBJECTIVES: The modified 5-item frailty index is a relatively new tool to assess the post-operative complication risks. It has been recently shown a good predictive value after posterior lumbar fusion. We aimed to compare the predictive value of the modified 5-item frailty index in cervical, thoracic and lumbar surgery. METHODS: The American College of Surgeons - National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS-NSQIP) Database 2015-2020 was used to identify patients who underwent elective posterior cervical, thoracic, or lumbar fusion surgeries for degenerative conditions. The mFI-5 score was calculated based on the presence of 5 co-morbidities: congestive heart failure within 30 days prior to surgery, insulin-dependent or noninsulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or pneumonia, partially dependent or totally dependent functional health status at time of surgery, and hypertension requiring medication. Multivariate analysis was used to assess the independent impact of increasing mFI-5 score on the postoperative morbidity while controlling for baseline clinical characteristics. RESULTS: 53 252 patients were included with the mean age of 64.2 ± 7.2. 7946 suffered medical complications (14.9%), 1565 had surgical complications (2.9%), and 3385 were readmitted (6.3%), 363 died (.68%) within 30 days postoperative (6.3%). The mFI-5 items score was significantly associated with higher rates of complications, readmission, and mortality in cervical, thoracic, and lumbar posterior fusion surgery. CONCLUSION: The modified 5-item frailty score is a reliable tool to predict complications, readmission, and mortality in patients planned for elective posterior spinal fusion surgery.

27. Intra and inter-organ communication through extracellular vesicles in obesity: functional role of obesesomes and steatosomes

Abstract: Abstract Background Extracellular vesicles (EVs) represent a sophisticated mechanism of intercellular communication that is implicated in health and disease. Specifically, the role of EVs in metabolic regulation and their implications in metabolic pathologies, such as obesity and its comorbidities, remain unclear. Methods Extracellular vesicles (EVs) were isolated through serial ultracentrifugation from murine adipocytes treated with palmitate or oleic acid, whole visceral and subcutaneous adipose tissue (obesesomes) of bariatric surgery obese donors, and human hepatocytes under steatosis (steatosomes) for functional in vitro experiments. Functional effects on inflammation and glucose and lipid metabolism of target cells (human and murine macrophages and hepatocytes) were assessed using ELISA, RT-PCR, and immunodetection. Isolated EVs from human steatotic (steatosomes) and control hepatocytes (hepatosomes) were characterized for quantity, size, and tetraspanin profile by NTA and Single Particle Interferometric Reflectance Imaging Sensor (SP-IRIS), and their protein cargo analyzed by qualitative (DDA) and quantitative (DIA-SWATH) proteomics using LC–MS/MS. Proteins identified by proteomics were validated by capturing EVs on functionalized chips by SP-IRIS. Results and Conclusions In this study, we investigated the role of EVs in the local communication between obese adipocytes and immune cells within adipose tissue, and the interaction of steatotic and healthy hepatocytes in the context of fatty liver disease progression. Furthermore, we analyzed obese adipose tissue-to-liver interactions through EV-obesesomes to elucidate their role in obesity-associated hepatic metabolic dysregulation. Our findings reveal that obesesomes promote inflammation and the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines upon interaction with macrophages, exerting a significant impact on reducing insulin resistance and altering lipid and glucose metabolism upon interaction with hepatocytes; in both cases, EVs from palmitate-loaded adipocytes and obesesomes from human visceral adipose depots demonstrated the most deleterious effect. Additionally, EVs secreted by steatotic hepatocytes (steatosomes) induced insulin resistance and altered lipid and glucose metabolism in healthy hepatocytes, suggesting their involvement in MASLD development. Proteomic analysis of steatosomes revealed that these vesicles contain liver disease-associated proteins, rendering them significant repositories of real-time biomarkers for the early stages and progression of MASLD. 28. Los recursos turísticos que más interesan a los españoles. Un estudio de demanda de información turística en España a través de las métricas de Google

Abstract: El objetivo del presente trabajo es estudiar la demanda de información turística realizada desde España mediante los motores de búsqueda de Google durante el período que transcurre entre el 1 de marzo de 2022 y el 1 de marzo de 2023. Se emplea para ello las métricas e informes de herramientas de Google como Search Console, Analitycs 4 y Trends. A partir de una metodología cuantitativa se analiza el informe de resultados y aspectos como los países de localización de los recursos turísticos, las localidades de su emplazamiento, la tipología de los mismos y la idoneidad, tanto de la fuente, como de la metodología, para alcanzar el objetivo inicial de la investigación. El número de registros que maneja la muestra es de 3849 puntos de interés. Los 18 primeros registros suponen casi una quinta parte del total de las búsquedas y los 100 primeros el 35%. Las búsquedas se concentran en una treintena de países y en más de 1200 localidades. Predominan los atractivos culturales frente a los naturales. Las tipologías más demandadas son instalaciones de espectáculos varios: teatros, museos, estadios y también parques de atracciones. Para el estudio de la demanda de información turística las métricas de google pueden resultar una herramienta adecuada y permite realizar una semblanza de la misma, pero esta puede resultar incompleta. La realización de encuestas podría complementar el estudio y obtener con ello una visión más certera de la demanda. El dato de visitantes sería el más definitorio, aunque este no siempre es concluyente ni posible de calcular. Con todo, existe un problema de indefinición y los resultados del análisis quedan condicionados por la terminología y la clasificación tipológica. Conocer cuáles son los principales atractivos turísticos puede resultar útil para su gestión y de aplicación para agentes turísticos tanto públicos, como privados.

Abstract: Quantum computing promises to provide the next step up in computational power for diverse application areas. In this review, we examine the science behind the quantum hype, and the breakthroughs required to achieve true quantum advantage in real world applications. Areas that are likely to have the greatest impact on high performance computing (HPC) include simulation of quantum systems, optimization, and machine learning. We draw our examples from electronic structure calculations and computational fluid dynamics which account for a large fraction of current scientific and engineering use of HPC. Potential challenges include encoding and decoding classical data for quantum devices, and mismatched clock speeds between classical and quantum processors. Even a modest quantum enhancement to current classical techniques would have far-reaching impacts in areas such as weather forecasting, aerospace engineering, and the design of "green" materials for sustainable development. Abstract: This paper presents the energy dependence of multiplicity and net-electric charge fluctuations in p+p interactions at beam momenta 20, 31, 40, 80, and 158 GeV/c. Results are corrected for the experimental biases and quantified with the use of cumulants and factorial cumulants. Cumulant ratios are an essential tool in the search for the critical point of strongly interacting matter in heavy ion collisions. Measurements performed in p+p interactions provide a vital baseline estimation in these studies. Abstract: Strong interactions preserve an approximate isospin symmetry between up ($u$) and down ($d$) quarks, part of the more general flavor symmetry. In the case of $K$ meson production, if this isospin symmetry were exact, it would result in equal numbers of charged ($K^+$ and $K^-$) and neutral ($K^0$ and $\overline K^{\,0}$) mesons in the final state. Here, we report results on the relative abundance of charged over neutral $K$ meson production in argon and scandium nuclei collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 11.9 GeV per nucleon pair. We find that the production of $K^+$ and $K^-$ mesons at mid-rapidity is $(18.4\pm 6.1)\%$ higher than that of the neutral $K$ mesons. Although with large uncertainties, earlier data on nucleus-nucleus collisions in the collision center-of-mass energy range $2.6 < \sqrt{s_{NN}} < 200$~\GeV are consistent with the present result. Using well-established models for hadron production, we demonstrate that known isospin-symmetry breaking effects and the initial nuclei containing more neutrons than protons lead only to a small (few percent) deviation of the charged-to-neutral kaon ratio from unity at high energies. Thus, they cannot explain the measurements. The significance of the flavor-symmetry violation beyond the known effects is 4.7$\sigma$ when the compilation of world data with uncertainties quoted by the experiments is used. Abstract: Many female squids and cuttlefishes have a symbiotic reproductive organ called the accessory nidamental gland (ANG) that hosts a bacterial consortium involved with egg defense against pathogens and fouling organisms. While the ANG is found in multiple cephalopod families, little is known about the global microbial diversity of these ANG bacterial symbionts. We used 16S rRNA gene community analysis to characterize the ANG microbiome from different cephalopod species and assess the relationship between host and symbiont phylogenies. The ANG microbiome of 11 species of cephalopods from four families (superorder: Decapodiformes) that span seven geographic locations was characterized. Bacteria of class Alphaproteobacteria, Gammaproteobacteria, and Flavobacteriia were found in all species, yet analysis of amplicon sequence variants by multiple distance metrics revealed a significant difference between ANG microbiomes of cephalopod families (weighted/unweighted UniFrac, Bray-Curtis, P = 0.001). Despite being collected from widely disparate geographic locations, members of the family Sepiolidae (bobtail squid) shared many bacterial taxa including (~50%) Opitutae (Verrucomicrobia) and Ruegeria (Alphaproteobacteria) species. Furthermore, we tested for phylosymbiosis and found a positive correlation between host phylogenetic distance and bacterial community dissimilarity (Mantel test r = 0.7). These data suggest that closely related sepiolids select for distinct symbionts from similar bacterial taxa. Overall, the ANGs of different cephalopod species harbor distinct microbiomes and thus offer a diverse symbiont community to explore antimicrobial activity and other functional roles in host fitness.IMPORTANCEMany aquatic organisms recruit microbial symbionts from the environment that provide a variety of functions, including defense from pathogens. Some female cephalopods (squids, bobtail squids, and cuttlefish) have a reproductive organ called the accessory nidamental gland (ANG) that contains a bacterial consortium that protects eggs from pathogens. Despite the wide distribution of these cephalopods, whether they share similar microbiomes is unknown. Here, we studied the microbial diversity of the ANG in 11 species of cephalopods distributed over a broad geographic range and representing 15-120 million years of host divergence. The ANG microbiomes shared some bacterial taxa, but each cephalopod species had unique symbiotic members. Additionally, analysis of host-symbiont phylogenies suggests that the evolutionary histories of the partners have been important in shaping the ANG microbiome. This study advances our knowledge of cephalopod-bacteria relationships and provides a foundation to explore defensive symbionts in other systems.

Abstract: The NA61/SHINE experiment at the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron studies the onset of deconfinement in strongly interacting matter through a beam energy scan of particle production in collisions of nuclei of varied sizes. This paper presents results on inclusive double-differential spectra, transverse momentum and rapidity distributions and mean multiplicities of $\pi^\pm$, $K^\pm$, $p$ and $\bar{p}$ produced in $^{40}$Ar+$^{45}$Sc collisions at beam momenta of 13$A$, 19$A$, 30$A$, 40$A$, 75$A$ and 150$A$~\GeVc. The analysis uses the 10\% most central collisions, where the observed forward energy defines centrality. The energy dependence of the $K^\pm$/$\pi^\pm$ ratios as well as of inverse slope parameters of the $K^\pm$ transverse mass distributions are placed in between those found in inelastic $p$+$p$ and central Pb+Pb collisions. The results obtained here establish a system-size dependence of hadron production properties that so far cannot be explained either within statistical or dynamical models.

Abstract: RESUMO Esta pesquisa buscou adaptar e validar para o contexto brasileiro a Gatekeeper Self-Efficacy Scale (Escala de Autoeficácia na Prevenção do Suicídio – EAPS). Após a análise de validade de conteúdo, 448 sujeitos (76,8% mulheres; Midade =33,94; DP=14,80) responderam a EAPS, a Nova Escala Geral de Autoeficácia e a Escala de Apoio à Pessoa em Risco de Suicídio, para análise das propriedades psicométricas. Os resultados de uma Análise Fatorial Exploratória corroboraram a estrutura original de um único fator, que explicou 69,57% da variância. Observou-se indicadores de validade convergente da EAPS e análises de confiabilidade demonstraram que a medida possuía consistência interna satisfatória (Confiabilidade Composta=0,91; ω=0,90). Conclui-se que a EAPS apresenta características psicométricas adequadas para o contexto brasileiro e pode ser utilizada em pesquisas que busquem engajar a população geral em ações primárias de prevenção do suicídio.

Abstract: RESUMO Estimar as estratégias de resolução de conflitos utilizadas por estudantes residentes em moradias universitárias é importante para pesquisadores e profissionais que prestam assistência visando ao bem-estar desta população. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo elaborar uma escala de Estratégias de Resolução de Conflitos em Moradias Estudantis (ERCME), reunindo evidências de validade fatorial e consistência interna. Dois estudos foram realizados com uma população de estudantes residentes em moradias universitárias paraibanas. No Estudo 1, participaram 200 residentes, com média de idade de 23 anos (DP=4,20). A análise exploratória permitiu identificar uma estrutura trifatorial: Estratégia Agressiva, Estratégia Assertiva e Estratégia Submissa. No Estudo 2 também participaram 200 residentes, com média de idade de 23 anos (DP=3,04). Por meio da análise fatorial confirmatória, observou-se que a estrutura trifatorial representou a melhor alternativa, observando-se indicadores de ajuste meritórios, cujos alfas de Cronbach foram superiores a 0,70. Conclui-se que a ERCME reúne evidências de validade fatorial e consistência interna, podendo medir as estratégias de resolução de conflitos de estudantes que residem em moradias estudantis.

Abstract: In recent years, Maker Education has gained popularity in formal education, but the perceptions of pre-service teachers after participating in a maker training program at a university-based makerspace remain to be explored. The purpose of this study is to analyze the acceptance level and the degree of motivation of pre-service teachers towards the maker educational approach. The research assesses attention, relevance, confidence and satisfaction according to Keller's motivational model, as well as the acceptance of the maker approach using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The study focuses on Early Childhood Education pre-service teachers from UPV/EHU (University of the Basque Country) who have been involved in designing teaching and learning plans based on Maker Education. The results show a strong motivation among the pre-service teachers in terms of attention, relevance, confidence and satisfaction towards the maker approach. The study also highlights a high level of technology acceptance. These findings underline the positive impact of maker-based learning methods and suggest that greater motivation correlates with the positive attitudes towards integrating this pedagogy in the future. In light of these findings, integrating innovative maker pedagogy into teacher training appears to be beneficial, as the high levels of acceptance and motivation indicate its potential to equip students with essential twenty-first century skills.
