Stocks have always been a very important tool in the investment market. Nowadays, the stock market attracts a large number of investors as more and more people are exposed to investing their money. One of the most attractive features of equities for investors is the high returns, however, the high risks are also affecting investors’ confidence. Therefore, predicting the long-term performance of the stock market can lower the risk and give investors more ideas on how to invest and help them understand the future trend of their preferred stocks, thus reducing their risk rate. In this paper, the author proposed a stock predicting method based on the closing prices of Ford Motor Company over the past 50 years. In the selection of the model, the ADF test was utilized and by analyzing the dataset, the author demonstrated that the stock closing price is a non-stationary series and therefore the ARIMA model is selected. After differencing the series, a stationary series was obtained, and the best parameter was chosen based on Auto-ARIMA analyses. Furthermore, the author obtained the long-term trend graph based on the model output and analyzed the accuracy of the prediction results by RMSE and MAPE tests. In addition, by bringing data from other stock markets into the experiment, it is evident that the ARIMA model can be effective when predicting long-term trend of stocks and is able to be used as a method to forecast stock prices.

The spatial variation and temporal variation in surface potential are important error sources in various precision experiments and deserved to be considered carefully. In the former case, the theoretical analysis shows that this effect depends on the surface potentials through their spatial autocorrelation functions. By making some modification to the quasi-local correlation model, we obtain a rigorous formula for the patch force, where the magnitude is proportional to ${\frac{1}{{{a}^{2}}}{{(\frac{a}{w})}^{\beta (a/w)+2}}}$ with ${a}$ the distance between two parallel plates, ${w}$ the mean patch size, and ${\beta}$ the scaling coefficient from ${-2}$ to ${-4}$. A torsion balance experiment is then conducted, and obtain a 0.4 mm effective patch size and 20 mV potential variance. In the latter case, we apply an adatom diffusion model to describe this mechanism and predicts a ${f^{-3/4}}$ frequency dependence above 0.01 ${\rm mHz}$. This prediction meets well with a typical experimental results. Finally, we apply these models to analyze the patch effect for two typical experiments. Our analysis will help to investigate the properties of surface potentials.

Halocarbons are hot topics in atmospheric environment and climate change research. Combining observational data from six field campaigns at the summit of Mount Taishan (36.25°N, 117.10°E, 1534 m above sea level) with backward trajectory and receptor source analyses, this study analyzed the long-term trends and major emission sources of halocarbons in the regional background atmosphere of the North China Plain (NCP) from 2003 to 2018. The results showed that the volume fraction of species eliminated by the Montreal Protocol (MP) showed a significant downward trend; however, the MP-controlled and unregulated species showed an overall upward trend. Meanwhile, the median volume fraction of the MP-controlled and unregulated species at Mount Taishan were significantly higher than the mid-latitude median background values in the northern hemisphere. Mount Taishan air was mainly affected by four types of air masses, of which the air mass originating from NCP accounted for the highest proportion (41%). The major sources of halocarbons were biomass/biofuel burning (38.1%), refrigeration (26.2%), industrial and domestic solvent use (21.7%), solvent use in the electronic industry (8.7%), and leakage of chlorofluorocarbon (CFCs) banks (5.3%). This study fully demonstrates that MP has been effectively implemented in China and provides evidence and recommendations to further reduce and control the volume fraction of halocarbons.

Both n-butane and iso-butane are important petrochemical raw materials, and their separation is of great significance and full of challenge because of their close boiling characteristic. The ZIF-8 slurry formed with a novel mixed solvent M-water solution as sorption media was adopted to separate the mixture with high efficiency. The iso-/n-butane selectivity of ZIF-8/M-water slurries is as high as 890 with high kinetic performance, even transcending the upper limit of the new materials or membranes. More encouragingly, continuous pilot separation device was established and test results show that the purity and recovery ratio of iso-butane product achieved 99.46 mol% and 87% respectively, which are remarkably superior to the corresponding performance (98.56 mol% and 54%) of the industrial distillation tower. To our best knowledge, this is the first industrial pilot test using MOFs for gas separation, and also an important step forward to the commercial application of MOFs in gas separation.

As important ozone-depleting substances and potential greenhouse gases, halocarbons have attracted much attention since 1970s. To better understand the characteristics and sources of halocarbons in the Yellow River Delta (YelRD) region, an important oil extraction and petrochemical industrial area in northern China, a two-phase (winter-spring and summer) intensive campaign was conducted in 2017. Compared with the Northern Hemispheric background, median enhancements of Montreal Protocol (MP) regulated species (CFCs, Halons and CH3CCl3) in this region were relatively small. Meanwhile, enhancements were relatively large for MP under control species (HCFCs and HFC-134a). Historical trends of halocarbons in China and the YelRD region both exhibited declining and increasing trends for MP regulated and under control species, respectively. Results above indicate effective implementation of MP in China. The enhancements of MP unregulated species were high as they are still used and uncontrolled. In addition, oil fields were found to have a negligible influence on ambient halocarbons in this region. The back-trajectory analysis shows that clusters from the North China Plain and East China were associated with the highest concentrations of most halocarbons during the winter-spring and summer periods, respectively. Source apportionment of halocarbons was carried out by positive matrix factorization (PMF). Model results indicate that biomass burning, marine, refrigerants and foam blowing, and solvent usage were the most important sources. This study provides the underlying insights into the characteristics and sources of halocarbons in the YelRD region.

Atmospheric particle number size distributions were measured by a wide-range particle size spectrometer and a scanning mobility particle size spectrometer in the summertime and wintertime in the coastal area of Qingdao (China). The inorganic and organic gaseous precursors and particulate chemical composition were measured to characterize new particle formation (NPF) events by combining meteorological parameters and backward trajectories. In summer, the occurrence frequency of NPF events was 18% lower. However, the atmospheric particle number concentration increased by approximately 1-4 times during the NPF events compared with those without NPF. The teaching effect of "process management and evaluation" was assessed in resident standardization training plan in acupuncture-moxibustion department of hospital for postgraduates of non-acupuncture-moxibustion speciality. A total of 120 postgraduates of non-acupuncture-moxibustion speciality participating in resident standardization training were randomized into an observation group (60 cases) and a control group (60 cases, 1 case dropped off). In the control group, the conventional training mode was used. In the observation group, the "process management and evaluation" was adopted, in which, the syllabus was refined, various teaching modes were cooperated and the summary was conducted once a week. The training results were evaluated at the end of 1-month shift test and questionnaire was issued in all of the postgraduates of the two groups. This study was performed to compare the effectiveness of acupotomy based on the meridian-sinew theory with acupotomy based on the anatomical theory in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis (KOA). A total of 124 patients with knee osteoarthritis were randomized into the meridian-sinew (MS) group (63 patients) and anatomy group (61 patients). In the MS group, acupotomy based on the meridian-sinew theory was performed. In the anatomy group, acupotomy based on anatomy was applied. Patients were subgrouped by TCM Constitutions. The Western Ontario and McMaster Universities (WOMAC) Osteoarthritis Index and visual analog scale (VAS) were used to evaluate treatment effectiveness. The results showed that VAS (F = 22.61, p < 0.01 ) and WOMAC (F = 24.84, p < 0.01 ) scores declined with time, and there was no significant difference between the two groups nor subgroups (Yang deficiency subgroup, Yin-Yang harmony subgroup, and the subgroup of the others). A total of 5 patients reported 6 cases of the minor adverse effect, and all patients achieved complete recovery without medical intervention. This study indicates that the effectiveness and safety of acupotomy based on the meridian-sinew theory are equivalent to that of acupotomy based on anatomy in KOA treatment.

Background: Neointimal hyperplasia is a prominent pathological event during in-stent restenosis. Phenotype switching of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) from a differentiated/contractile to a dedifferentiated/synthetic phenotype, accompanied by migration and proliferation of VSMCs play an important role in neointimal hyperplasia. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying phenotype switching of VSMCs have yet to be fully understood. Methods: The mouse carotid artery ligation model was established to evaluate Sema3A expression and its role during neointimal hyperplasia in vivo. Bioinformatics analysis, chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) assays and promoter-luciferase reporter assays were used to examine regulatory mechanism of Sema3A expression. SiRNA transfection and lentivirus infection were performed to regulate Sema3A expression. EdU assays, Wound-healing scratch experiments and Transwell migration assays were used to assess VSMC proliferation and migration. Findings: In this study, we found that semaphorin-3A (Sema3A) was significantly downregulated in VSMCs during neointimal hyperplasia after vascular injury in mice and in human atherosclerotic plaques. Meanwhile, Sema3A was transcriptionally downregulated by PDGF-BB via p53 in VSMCs. Furthermore, we found that overexpression of Sema3A inhibited VSMC proliferation and migration, as well as increasing differentiated gene expression. Mechanistically, Sema3A increased the NRP1-plexin-A1 complex and decreased the NRP1-PDGFRβ complex, thus inhibiting phosphorylation of PDGFRβ. Moreover, we found that overexpression of Sema3A suppressed neointimal hyperplasia after vascular injury in vivo. Interpretation: These results suggest that local delivery of Sema3A may act as a novel therapeutic option to prevent in-stent restenosis. New particle formation (NPF) from nucleation and subsequent nuclei growth, which is frequently observed in the troposphere, is critical to aerosol-cloud interactions yet difficult to simulate. In this work, regional simulations with the fully coupled NPF-explicit WRF-Chem model link NPF to cloud properties and to changes in both meteorology and air quality in the U.S. Midwest during summer 2008. Simulations that include NPF have higher concentrations of condensation nuclei, as anticipated from the particle production associated with nucleation, leading to enhanced concentrations of cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) at high supersaturations. However, the online-coupled model develops a number of unexpected features that can be traced to a feedback loop involving aqueous (in-cloud) oxidation of sulfur combined with boundary layer NPF. Simulations with NPF (relative to simulations without) exhibit reduced PM2.5 sulfate mass, cloud dimming (reductions in the cloud frequency, CCN concentration at a low supersaturation, cloud optical depth, and cloud droplet number concentration), and enhanced surface-reaching shortwave radiation. This effect of NPF on the PM2.5 mass is mostly absent for other constituents of PM2.5. The implications of this feedback loop, which is not considered in most climate and air quality modeling, are discussed.

Short-range tests of the gravitational inverse-square law are very important for finding new interactions. In order to further improve the constraints on the Yukawa-like gravitational force, we propose a new scheme based on the torsion balance, where the speculative Yukawa-like gravitational force between the pendulum and the attractor is substantially increased by increasing the area of the test mass and the source mass. A dual-compensation design is used to realize a null experiment, which can release the accuracy requirement on some geometric parameters. The calculation result shows that, at the 95% confidence level, the new design can establish the strongest bound on the magnitude α of the Yukawa violation at the range of 40–800 μm with the total error of about 2.0 × 10−17 N m, and improve the previous bounds about one order of magnitude at the length scale λ ≈ 300 μm.

Objective To compare the clinical efficacy differences of acupotomy therapy guided by the meridian sinew theory and acupotomy therapy guided by the anatomy theory of western medicine in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. Methods Sixty-three patients were randomly divided into the acupotomy group of the meridian sinew theory (Group A, n = 32) and the acupotomy group of the anatomy theory (Group B, n = 31). For Group A, with positive reaction points such as the tenderness points of three yang meridians and three yin meridians of the foot, and funicular nodules as the points of needle insertion, the needle-knife, after disinfection and anesthesia, gives priority to longitudinal dissection after insertion, and then carries out subcutaneous sweeping maniplation. For Group B, with 8 points for needle insertion, including the origins and terminations of the medial and lateral collateral ligaments, the origins and terminations of the patellar ligament, the terminations of the quadriceps femoris tendon, and pes anserinus bursa point, the treatment was performed in strict accordance with the four-step procedures of acupotomy (positioning, orientating, pressurizing to separate, and puncturing) after disinfection and anesthesia. The treatment was conducted once a week and three times in total. Statistical analysis was conducted with the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities (WOMAC) Osteoarthritis Index and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) for overall pain before treatment and at week 2 and 4 during treatment, and the adverse reactions of patients were observed and recorded to evaluate the curative effect. Results During the treatment period, the overall response rates (ORRs, that is markedly effective + effective) were compared between the two groups. The ORR of Group A was 90.63% and that of Group B was 87.09%. There was no statistical significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). After treatment, the WOMAC function score of Group A was significantly lower than that before treatment (17.28 ± 10.22 vs 32.75 ± 14.88, P 0.05) between at Week 2 and before treatment, and there was statistically significant difference (3.31 ± 1.56 vs 4.77 ± 1.68, P Conclusion Both acupotomy therapies guided by the meridian sinew theory and by the anatomy theory of Western medicine have good curative effect on knee osteoarthritis, but acupotomy guided by the meridian sinew theory has more superiorities in operability, safety and effectiveness, which is easy to be generalized in grass-roots and community hospitals.

To observe the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) combined with lifestyle control on hepatic fat status, hepatic enzymology, glycolipid metabolism and anthropological parameters in patients with obese nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).A total of 90 patients with obese NAFLD were randomized into an observation group (45 cases, 4 cases dropped off) and a control group (45 cases, 1 case dropped off). Lifestyle control was implemented in the control group. On the basis of the treatment in the control group, acupuncture was applied at Zhongwan (CV 12), Quchi (LI 11), Shuifen (CV 9), Huaroumen (ST 24), Daheng (SP 15), Guanyuan (CV 4), Qihai (CV 6), etc. EA was provided at Huaroumen (ST 24) and Daheng (SP 15) with dilatational wave, 2 Hz/100 Hz in frequency, 30 min each time, once every other day, 3 times a week. The treatment for 12 weeks was required in both of the two groups. Hepatic fat status [controlled attenuation parameter (CAP) and liver stiffness measurement (LSM)], hepatic enzymology [alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and γ-glutamyl transferase (GGT)], glycolipid metabolism and insulin sensitivity [fasting plasma glucose (FPG), fasting serum lisulin (FINS), homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C)] and anthropological parameters [body weight (BW), body mass index (BMI), fat percentage (FP), waist circumference (WC), hip circumference (HC) and waist-to-hip ratio (WHR)] in the two groups were observed before and after treatment.①Compared before treatment, hepatic CAP, LSM, serum ALT, AST and GGT after treatment were obviously reduced in the two groups (Electroacupuncture combined with lifestyle control can effectively treat obese nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and present better therapeutic effect on hepatic fat status, glycolipid metabolism, insulin resistance, WC and WHR.

Nitrous acid (HONO) is an important reservoir of the hydroxyl radical (OH) and thus plays a central role in tropospheric chemistry. Exhaust from engines has long been known as a major primary source of HONO, yet most previous studies focused on vehicle emissions on land. In comparison, ship emissions of HONO have been rarely characterized, and their impacts on the tropospheric oxidation chemistry have not been quantified. In this study, we conducted cruise measurements of HONO and related species over the East China Sea. Contrasting air masses from pristine marine background air to highly polluted ship plumes were encountered. The emission ratio of ΔHONO/ΔNOx (0.51 ± 0.18%) was derived from a large number of fresh ship plumes. Using the in-situ measured emission ratio, a global ship emission inventory of HONO was developed based on the international shipping emissions of NOx in the Community Emission Data System inventory. The global shipping voyage emits approximately 63.9 ± 22.2 Gg yr−1 of HONO to the atmosphere. GEOS-Chem modelling with the addition of ship-emitted HONO showed that HONO concentrations could increase up to 40–100% over the navigation areas, leading to about 5–15% increases of primary OH production in the early-morning time. This study elucidates the potentially considerable effects of ship HONO emissions on the marine atmospheric chemistry, and calls for further studies to better characterize the ship emissions of HONO and other reactive species, which should be taken into account by global and regional models.
