This paper aims to investigate the effect of motor suspension parameters, specifically damping and stiffness, on the bifurcations of a bogie system. A motor bogie model with a nonlinear smooth equivalent conicity function is established. The study includes qualitative analyses of the stability and the Hopf bifurcation of the equilibrium, with the running speed as the single parameter. Furthermore, the generalised Hopf bifurcation and Hopf-Hopf bifurcation of the equilibrium, based on two motor suspension parameters, are also analysed. The paper delves into the codimension-1 and codimension-2 bifurcations of the limit cycles generated by the Hopf bifurcation, including Neimark–Sacker bifurcation, fold bifurcation, cusp bifurcation, 1:3 resonance, and 1:4 resonance. Analytical investigations reveal that the cusp bifurcation alters the type of fold bifurcation (subcritical or supercritical), and the fold bifurcation influences the stability and bifurcation direction of the limit cycle. Additionally, resonance occurs between the motor and the bogie frame. Since the subcritical (supercritical) Neimark–Sacker bifurcation produces an unstable (a stable) torus, the resonance points associated with the subcritical Neimark–Sacker bifurcation will lead to the instability of the motor bogie. A two-degree-of-freedom nonlinear high-speed railway wheelset model with two time delays in the lateral and yaw dampers is studied. The aim is to investigate the effect of time delays on stability and Hopf bifurcation characteristics of the wheelset model. The local stability of the trivial equilibrium under different time delay conditions is qualitatively analyzed. Analytical studies reveal that the wheelset model undergoes stability switches with the variation of the time delays. The stability switches correspond to Hopf bifurcations that occur when the time delays cross critical values. Furthermore, properties of Hopf bifurcation including direction and stability of bifurcating limit cycles are studied by using the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. Our findings indicate that time delays in both lateral dampers and yaw dampers influence the stability and direction of Hopf bifurcation. Additionally, the numerical results show that time delays in the lateral and yaw dampers not only affect the amplitude of the hunting motion of the wheelset but also the periodic and chaotic motions. If the time delays gradually increase, the wheelset will vibrate irregularly with large lateral displacements. This paper analyzes the complete synchronization of a three-layer Rulkov neuron network model connected by electrical synapses in the same layers and chemical synapses between adjacent layers. The outer coupling matrix of the network is not Laplacian as in linear coupling networks. We develop the master stability function method, in which the invariant manifold of the master stability equations (MSEs) does not correspond to the zero eigenvalues of the connection matrix. After giving the existence conditions of the synchronization manifold about the nonlinear chemical coupling, we investigate the dynamics of the synchronization manifold, which will be identical to that of a synchronous network by fixing the same parameters and initial values. The waveforms show that the transient chaotic windows and the transient approximate periodic windows with increased or decreased periods occur alternatively before asymptotic behaviors. Furthermore, the Lyapunov exponents of the MSEs indicate that the network with a periodic synchronization manifold can achieve complete synchronization, while the network with a chaotic synchronization manifold can not. Finally, we simulate the effects of small perturbations on the asymptotic regimes and the evolution routes for the synchronous periodic and the non-synchronous chaotic network. In the field of aerospace, weapons and other complex assembly, there are more than 50 factors affecting the performance degradation of joint structures, among which the friction coefficient is the main factor. Nickel steel is widely used in large complex equipment due to its advantages of high strength. Therefore, this paper first establishes a theoretical model of friction coefficient based on fractal theory. Secondly, the friction coefficient experiment was carried out to measure the friction coefficient of nickel steel plates with different roughness under different normal loads. Finally, the experimental results are compared with the theoretical results, and the accuracy and error analysis of the model is carried out. The results show that the friction coefficient increases with the increase in roughness. When the normal load is greater than 50 kg, the friction coefficient gradually tends to be stable. The error of identification results of correction factor a was all within 5%. The error between theoretical model prediction and experimental data is 6%–15%, which indicates that the calculation of the friction coefficient has high accuracy. The results of this study can provide data and theoretical support for the friction coefficient evaluation of nickel steel plate joint structures, and contribute to the health detection and reliability evaluation of nickel steel plate joint structures.
