Fatigue failure is one of the most important reasons for the failure of engineering application components. However, due to the high cost of fatigue experiments, it is necessary to use mechanical properties to predict fatigue strength. Based on the true stress-strain curves, a novel model for fatigue strength prediction is established and is used to calculate the fatigue strength. The strength predicted is compared with that calculated by the staircase method and the Basquin equation. The results show that the model could obtain the fatigue strength of the materials only by using tensile strength and work-hardening strength, and it is suitable for other steels, which greatly saves costs and increases accuracy.

Background: Despite much evidence showing the effectiveness of structured self-management education for diabetes, poor glycemic control remains a challenge among empty nest older adults. Objective: We explored the effect of a health education intervention based on the PRECEDE-PROCEED model on the self-management of empty nest older adults with type 2 diabetes in Lanzhou, China. Methods: We conducted a 2-armed, randomized controlled trial using a multistage sampling method. A total of 100 patients were randomly assigned to receive either community nurse–led diabetes education based on the PRECEDE-PROCEED model or general community diabetes education. Self-management scores and blood glucose were compared at baseline and at 3 and 6 months after the intervention. Results: Analyses were conducted on the 98 patients completing follow-up. In the experimental group, diabetes self-management knowledge (t = 7.578, P <.001), self-management attitude (t = 9.155, P <.001), self-management behavior (t = 7.809, P <.001), and overall self-management scores (t = 7.626, P <.001) improved, with hemoglobin A1c (t = −2.825, P =.006), fasting plasma glucose (t = −3.100, P =.003), 2-hour postprandial blood glucose (t = −3.812, P <.001), and diastolic blood pressure (t = −2.104, P =.038) decreasing compared with the control group at 6 months postintervention. Conclusions: This study demonstrated that education based on the PRECEDE-PROCEED model was more effective than general health education in improving diabetes self-management and glycemic control among empty nest older adults. Affecting the repair function of RAD51 can effectively reverse tumor resistance to chemotherapy and radiotherapy. There is interaction between RAD51181−200 and BRCA1846−871. Using the computer to simulate single mutation of lysine at 862 position of BRCA1846−871, six BRCA1846−871 mutants with significant interaction with RAD51181−200 were screened out. These mutant peptides were obtained by 9-fluorenylmethyloxycarbonyl (Fmoc) solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) method. All peptides were purified and characterized by liquid chromatography and ESI-MS. In this study, the interaction between RAD51181−200 and BRCA1846−871 or mutant peptides was investigated using circular dichroism spectroscopy (CD) and fluorescence spectroscopy. The CD results shown that the secondary structure change of RAD51181−200 induced by BRCA1846−871, BRCA1846−871 K862F (F), BRCA1846−871 K862G (G), BRCA1846−871 K862E (E) and BRCA1846−871 K862N (N) was obvious, which the α-helix content of RAD51181−200 decreased from 58.3–36.1%, 58.3–36.2%, 58.3–36.4%, 58.3–36.5% and 58.3–36.0%, respectively. While, the addition of BRCA1846−871 K862P (P) and BRCA1846−871 K862Y (Y) hardly changed the α-helix content of RAD51181−200. From the fluorescence results, the binding constants of F and Y are 1.00 × 105 M−1 and 1.16 × 105 M−1 respectively, which were both larger than that of BRCA1846−871 (9.01 × 102 M−1). The binding constant of RAD51181−200 with E (7.45 × 103 M−1) is slightly higher than that of BRCA1846−871. The binding constants of RAD51181−200 with P (1.24 × 103 M−1) and N (1.26 × 103 M−1) are similar to that of BRCA1846−871. However, the Kb value of G (1.51 × 102 M−1) is less than that of BRCA1846−871. Comparing all spectral data, F is the most significant one interacting with RAD51181−200. Employing alloys as membrane support has shown promising industrial potential for application, because alloys exhibit excellent mechanical strength and ductility. However, alloys present intractable shortcomings, like large pore size and inadequate bonding strength, hindering membranes' formation and thereby limiting their widely use. In this work, a novel interlayer strategy was proposed to make a non-uniformly macroporous alloy suitable for zeolite membranes growth. Electroplated interlayers were firstly applied to refine supports' pore size distribution, leading to improved surface homogeneity and average pore size. Layered double hydroxide (LDH) interlayers were then incorporated to regulate the surface hydroxyl content, hydrophilicity, and roughness, thus promoting the Linde type A (LTA) zeolite hetero-nucleation. The obtained LTA/LDH/Ni–P/Alloy membranes presented a H 2 O/N 2 selectivity of 107 and H 2 O permeability of 10,520 GPU (30 °C, 0.1 MPa, and a relative humidity of 90%), and its H 2 O permeability was much higher than conventional polymer membrane. Subsequently, the strategy showed its universality in the fabrication of CAU-1 membranes, a type of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), where the as-synthesized sample displayed a dense morphology. The results of this study open new insights for the usage of cost-effective coarse alloy support and exploration of facile support modification methods.
