(1) Background: Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of mortality worldwide; the prevention and early detection of coronary artery disease are of critical importance; and the coronary artery calcium score is a powerful method in the assessment of coronary artery disease. Among European countries, Romania ranks as a country with a very high risk of cardiovascular diseases, but the data are limited in regard to the prevalence of the calcium score. (2) Methods: A retrospective study was conducted to establish the coronary calcium score in a group of patients investigated via cardiac CT and to determine the correlation with the presence of cardiovascular risk factors. (3) Results: According to the Agatston calcium score, 50% of the patients had a positive calcium score. High calcium scores above 400 UA were present in 12.6% of patients. Regarding the association between the presence of cardiovascular risk factors and the levels of coronary artery calcification, a mild level of calcification was associated with age over 50 years (X2 = 3.88, p = 0.04, OR = 3.25; 95% CI 0.94–11.14); a moderate level of calcification with the age of patients over 50 years (X2 = 6.54, p = 0.01, OR = 5.58; 95% CI 1.29–24.16), dyslipidemia (X2 = 7.28, p = 0.007, OR = 3.37; 95% CI 1.34–8.51), and arterial hypertension (X2 = 5.37, p = 0.02, OR = 2.88; 95% CI 1.14–7.27); a severe level of calcification with hypertension (X2 = 4.61, p = 0.03, OR = 7.03; 95% CI 0.90–54.81); and a very severe level of calcification with hypertension (X2 = 4.61, p = 0.03, OR = 7.03; 95% CI 0.90–54.81), smoking (X2 = 8.07, p = 0.004, OR = 4.44; 95% CI 1.47–13.44), and diabetes (X2 = 13.65, p = 0.001, OR = 6.59; 95% CI 2.5–20.18). (4) Conclusion: Half of the patients investigated by using cardiac CT had a calcium score of zero. Predictors for coronary calcium scores in relation to risk factors varied. For the very severe coronary calcification level, the strongest predictor was the presence of smoking and diabetes, which increased the odds for very severe calcification by 13.46 times. Patients who had multiple cardiovascular risk factors, hypertension, diabetes, and smoking were 9.18 times more likely to have very severe calcification.

Coronary artery anomalies may occur during embryogenesis and can lead to changes in the vascularization of the heart, possible ischemia, and an increased risk of sudden death. A retrospective study was conducted with the aim of assessing the prevalence of coronary anomalies in a Romanian sample of patients, investigated with computed tomography angiography for coronary artery disease. The objectives of the study were to identify the anomalies of the coronary arteries and to conduct an anatomical classification according to Angelini. The study also consisted of evaluations regarding coronary artery calcification in the sample of patients by the Agatston calcium score and assessments regarding the presence of cardiac symptoms and their association with coronary abnormalities. The results showed a prevalence of coronary anomalies of 8.7%, of which 3.8% were origin and course anomalies and 4.9% were coronary anomalies with intramuscular bridging of the left anterior descending artery. Recommendations for practice include the widespread use of coronary computed tomography angiography for the diagnosis of coronary artery anomalies and coronary artery disease in larger patient groups and encouraging this investigation across the country.

Mobile devices and applications are very popular worldwide. Android and iOS dominate the mobile operating systems market. Most of the mobile applications connect to external servers that process and store users’ data. These systems are exposed to malicious attacks and the developers should be always concerned about the applications and data security. This paper pre-sents known threats and vulnerabilities related to mobile applications and proposes a software solution for vulnerabilities analyses (CrawVulns) that aims to help eliminate or mitigate security risks.

A characteristic of today's society is the increasing use of modern information and communication technologies in all areas. Computer applications, called e-services, are being developed to provide efficient access to services, electronically. Quality management systems are needed to provide a consistent way to select, evaluate, prioritize and plan the right e-services. The increasing use of e-services has raised the need to define standards and means to assess and assure quality. Investment in e-services is an important step to improve the quality of life in our dynamic society. After a brief introduction that describes the adoption of electronic services in individuals' daily routine and the need for quality management, this article defines in its second chapter terms and concepts that are part of the Quality Management Framework. Then, the third chapter describes what e-services are, how they are classified and also their benefits to the user followed in the fourth chapter by definition of means to evaluate and metrics to measure the quality of e-services. In the end, this article restates the benefits of e-services, the need for e-service quality management and unveils future development initiatives in domain. The modern world is undergoing a fundamental transformation characterized by a lot of challenges, dynamism, globalization, and the increasing influence of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). These new technologies have implications for all aspects of the society and economy; they are changing the way of doing business, the way of learning, and almost everything is changed. The ICTs are seen as one of the core elements driving the modern world. Taken into consideration these aspects the universities has adept their curricula to the society' needs, and the students develop ITC projects that solve some these needs. This paper refers to the audit of the ITC projects developed by students. (Contains 1 table, 1 figure and 2 footnotes.)

Nowadays, the Internet of Things (IoT) projects are very popular and they are developed for numerous fields. In order to detect various medical problems on time, it is required to monitor the subjects either human or non-human. This could be used on regular or specific activities, like sport or work. It is necessary to determine the factors that could lead to medical problems. Another important aspect is to quantify the factors, to monitor them, to collect data and to make the proper interpretation. This could be achieved using dedicated sensors, controlled by an application embedded on a development board. When a dangerous value is reached, the system has to inform the subject (if human) or someone else (if non-human). This paper presents an Arduino based IoT project used for monitoring the vital signs for human and non-human and the results based on its usage. The paper details the hardware and software components of this project.

The discovery of a new form of communication between people, the Internet, was a premise of commerce development. The emergence of a new form of economic relation manifestation, e-commerce, led to important changes in the sphere of legal regulation. The need for these changes derives from the global and complex nature of the Internet.

Due to the technological progress in the last decade, the medical practice of cardiology relies more and more on the information provided by cardiac computed tomography. Current guidelines propose coronary computed angiography as a first-line anatomic investigation in patients with low and intermediate probability of coronary atherosclerosis. At the same time, anatomical information is obtained about the rest of the cardiac structures and about cardiac function. The present work aimed to present the contribution of cardiac computed tomography in the morphological and functional characterization of patients with complex cardiac pathology. Three cases are presented in which the information provided by cardiac computed tomography contributed significantly to the diagnosis. The cases were cardiac pathologies such as ventricular apical aneurysm, aortic prosthetic thrombosis, and a cardiac malformation with transposition of great arteries. In addition to highlighting the role of cardiac computed tomography in diagnosing cardiac pathology, a brief review of cardiac computed tomography indications, inclusion criteria, patient safety, basic techniques, and the main protocols and types of post-processing used in practice is provided. This article provides an overview of the applications of cardiac computed tomography, highlighting its role within clinical practice, particularly in the characterization of complex cardiac pathologies. It is known that health problem represents an object of permanent study. The study to prevent chronic diseases, factors involved to keep the health status, means to improve the effect of various diseases/affections have been and are appreciated.

The paper approaches the low-level details of the code generated by compilers whose format permits outside actions. Binary code modifications are manually done when the internal format is known and understood, or automatically by certain tools developed to process the binary code. The binary code instrumentation goals may be various from security increasing and bug fixing to development of malicious software. The paper highlights the binary code instrumentation techniques by code injection to increase the security and reliability of a software application. Also, the paper offers examples for binary code formats understanding and how the binary code injection may be applied.

This paper highlights some issues regarding how an indicators system must be developed and used in an audit process. Distributed systems are presented from de points of view of their main properties, architectures, applications, software quality characteristics and the scope of audit process in such systems. The audit process is defined in accordance to standard ISO 19011 and the main characteristics of this process are highlighted. Before using quantitative methods in audit processes, the framework in which the indicators are built must be defined. There are presented types of indicators used in audit process and classes of measurement scale. An audit process is carried out on different levels and support indicators must be in accordance to audit object. The paper presents some requirements of the indicators depending on the level of audit.

In the most important political, economical and technical forces that will act to production and service development in next decades are also counted the information and knowledge from the point of view of the all aspects. The information development imposes the use of adequate tools to assure a high-level quality of these ones, taking into account the costs. The paper approaches the data flow audit within small and medium enterprises as an useful tool in competitive increasing of these economical structures.
