Abstract

Uno de los problemas principales en México es la escasez de información pluviográfica, por lo que para obtener la relación entre las lluvias diarias máximas anuales y su evolución durante el día es necesario recurrir a métodos que describan el comportamiento de la lluvia en la CVM, para esto se recurrió a la obtención del factor de convectividad también conocido como Factor R, el cual determina la relación de las precipitaciones acumuladas de un día con las de una hora. Para esto se utilizó la información de 49 pluviógrafos dentro de la Ciudad de México, obteniendo así la información de 143 de las tormentas más importantes ocurridas entre 1988 y 2008. Con esta información se obtuvieron 3 factores R de los cuales se encontró que guardan relación con la topografía de la zona.

Abstract

The Regional Weber Problem is analysed by creating some properties of the onbjective function that helps solve the problem by techniques of convex optimization. However, the greatest disadvantage is the high computational cost generated in the evaluation of the objective function. The formulation is a continuation of the Weber problem, which prevents the demand from being concentrated onto a finite set of points but follow an arbitrary probability measure. The problem is solved by a new approximation of the objective function, including replacing the demand distribution by an easier one.

Abstract

Astudy was conducted on multiple criteria decision making with only partial information about the weighting coefficients. A family of quasiorders which are manageable and easy to interpret and which includes the natural quasiorder in Rn and other common preference structures was developed. An absolute measure was proposed to enhance the preference structure with respect to the natural quasiorder.

It is known that if that sum of weights in the Weber problem with attraction and repulsion is positive, then the problem attains an optimal solution. In this note we extend this result to the nonlinear extension of the above mentioned problem, which has been only addressed in the literature for bounded feasible solutions.

In this paper we address a generalization of the Weber problem, in which we seek for the center and the shape of a rectangle (the facility) minimizing the average distance to a given set (the demand-set) which is not assumed to be finite. Some theoretical properties of the average distance are studied, and an expression for its gradient, involving solely expected distances to rectangles, is obtained. This enables the resolution of the problem by standard optimization techniques..

Abstract

The design of patrolling areas for emergency services, such as police, fire or ambulance units, contributed to an increase in expected response time. The design problem was treated as a standard location problem focusing on the location of mobile service units in a dimensional space. It assumed the existence of a Borel-measurable function related to the average response time to a call. The patrolling activities of emergency services should also consider a joint probability measure related to the distribution concerns. Moreover, the design of patrol areas should reflect travel distance and multifacility locations. It is suggested that mobile service units are parked or fixed at optimal positions or at the media of the demand to improve response time rates.
