The objective of this study was to evaluate the spatial-temporal variability of leaf chlorophyll index and its relationship with cocoa yield. The experiment was carried out in an experimental area of cocoa production located in Ilhéus, Bahia State, Brazil. Leaf chlorophyll content was measured in September, October, January, February, March and April in the 2014/2015 season, at each sampling point of a regular grid by using a portable chlorophyll meter. Under the same conditions, yield was evaluated and the data were submitted to descriptive statistics and a linear correlation study. Geostatistical analysis was used to determine and quantify the spatial and temporal variability of leaf chlorophyll index and yield. Leaf chlorophyll index varied over the period evaluated, but the months of February, March and April showed no spatial dependence in the study area, indicating absence of temporal stability. Cocoa monthly yield, except in January, presented high spatial variability. Under the conditions of this study, it was not possible to establish a relationship between leaf chlorophyll index and cocoa yield.

To make the coffee activity competitive, some farmers use precision coffee farming. Thus, it is possible to create thematic maps that guide management practices for regions where there are limitation for the plant development. The objective of this study was to identify the spatial dependence of coffee crop yield, in 2012 and 2013. The experimental area is located in a Haplustox in Três Pontas, Minas Gerais. One hundred sampling points were georeferenced for the collection of yield data through manual harvest. The difference of yield between crop seasons was also evaluated. Data were processed using geostatistical analysis. It was possible to identify and characterize the spatial dependence of all variables, as well as to create contour maps. There were differences between the 2012 and 2013 maps, due to the biennial coffee phenological cycle, which can be confirmed by the map of the difference between the crop seasons. It is recommended a crop management that considers the spatial variability of yield for greater economic return.

The Precision Agriculture appears as an important tool to the management of coffee farms where the knowledge of some soil features associated with the coffee production could help specific application of fertilizing with positive environmental and economic results. So the aim of this study was to use precision agriculture and geoestatistics to evaluate the variables phosphorus, potassium and the coffee plant yield, in three different crops, by evaluating the semivariogram and kriging maps and show that these tools are important to the coffee management. This study was conducted on the Brejão farm in Três Pontas, Minas Gerais, in 2007/2008, 2008/2009 e 2009/2010 crop. As data base were used chemical soil data obtained by sampling in a georreferenced location using a quadricycle with a sampler and a GPS, and the yield data was obtained from manual harvest on the georreferenced location. It was possible to characterize the spatial variability magnitude of the studied attributes, and they presented huge variation on time and space. Adjusts of the best semivariograms enable to produce more accurate maps that contribute to the geostatistics uses on coffee crop.

The precision agriculture appears as an important tool to improve coffee field management, mainly to this culture that has high production costs. The present work intended to accomplish a comparative study of the economic feasibility of two fertilizer systems: one using the precision agriculture and other using conventional fertilization. The data base used were extracted from the production costs of the Brejão farm, in south of Minas Gerais, in three areas (22 ha, 10.52 ha and 6.23 ha), where were applied fertilizer in variable rates in the 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 harvests. The precision agriculture was characterized by the georeferenced soil sampling and the application of phosphorus and potassium in variable rates. The conventional fertilization costs were obtained by simulations considering the traditional soil sampling performed at these areas. In order to compare the two fertilization systems, it was considered the operations and the amount of fertilizer necessary in each of the fertilization system. It was realized differences in the elements and in the amount that should be applied between the two systems. The variable rate fertilization was more profitable to the area of 22 ha and 10.52 ha in the two harvests studied and to the area of 6.23 ha was profitable (less prejudice) only to the last crop.

- Abstract
The spatial variability of physical properties, such as bulk density, penetration resistance and gravimetric moisture, obtained by applying geostatistics in precision agriculture, can effectively indicate the physical behavior of agricultural soils in longitudinal profiles. In this way, the spatial dependence of physical properties in streets of coffee plantations with different lengths was evaluated in the southern Minas Gerais, Brazil. For this purpose, five longitudinal profiles were measured in streets, each one with depths ranging from 0 to 0.60 m, in six layers of 0.10 m, being the database composed of 432 property, 144 by property, submitted to the ordinary kriging geostatistical method in order to obtain spatial variability maps using the R software. They were evaluated by the lower mean cross-validation error of theoretical models fitted by ordinary least squares (OLS), being detected in higher superficial layers, from 0 to 0.30 m, lower bulk density and lower penetration resistance, with variable gravimetric moisture in the length direction of some streets of coffee plantations, being that these properties presented different structures of spatial dependence for each street.

- Abstract
Background: The disorder of reflex and motor function in patients affected by stroke causes negative impact on the performance of movement patterns and affects the functional activities., Objectives: To investigate the immediate effects of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) and cryotherapy interventions on the spinal reflex excitability and in the voluntary electromyography (EMG) activity in people with chronic stroke., Method: Randomized crossover trial. The maximum H-reflex (Hmax), the H-reflex latency and the maximum motor response (Mmax) of the soleus muscle and also the EMG of the tibialis muscle where evaluated before and after the application of TENS, cryotherapy and control conditions., Results: The Hmax/Mmax ratio was statistically significant higher (p=0.0245) and the H-reflex latency was statistically significant lower (p=0.0375) in the soleus muscle of the affected limb. The EMG amplitude of the tibialis anterior was reduced in the compromised limb (p<0.0001). After the use of the TENS, a reduction in the Hmax/Mmax ratio (p=0.0006) was observed leading to lower reflex excitability. However, after the cryotherapy intervention an increase of the Hmax/Mmax ratio was observed, which was accompanied by an increase in the H-reflex latency (p=0.0001). The EMG amplitude has not changed by any of the interventions., Conclusions: Our findings suggest that TENS may be a choice for immediate reduction of reflex excitability, whereas cryotherapy intervention may increase reflex excitability in hemiparetic subjects. However, none of the changes mediated by either intervention were able to modify the electrical activity in the antagonist muscle of the spastic muscle.
