Abstract

The article discusses the identification of a novel RHD*01(487-3G) allele in a Mexican American woman with autoimmune hepatitis. The patient had weak D typing results and was found to have RHD* DAR1.2 and the novel RHD*01(487-3G) alleles. The study highlights the population admixture and the importance of considering genetic variations in transfusion management, especially in individuals with altered RHD alleles.
