Abstract

The article discusses the challenges faced by pre-service teachers in teaching a culturally diverse student population. Topics covered include cultural responsiveness, the importance of field experiences for achieving the goal of cultural responsiveness and the impact of radical field experience in the beliefs and attitudes of pre-service teachers. Also provided is a definition of a culturally responsive teaching from the perspective of an educator.
