Occlusion modeling is critical for light field depth estimation, since occlusion destroys the photo-consistency assumption, which most depth estimation methods hold. Previous works always detect the occlusion points on the basis of Canny detector, which can leave some occlusion points out. Occlusion handling, especially for multi-occluder occlusion, is still challenging. In this paper, we propose a novel occlusion-aware depth estimation method, which can better solve the occlusion problem. We design two novel consistency costs based on the photo-consistency for depth estimation. According to the consistency costs, we analyze the influence of the occlusion and propose an occlusion detection technique based on depth consistency, which can detect the occlusion points more accurately. For the occlusion point, we adopt a new data cost to select the un-occluded views, which are used to determine the depth. Simple Summary: The imagery captured by cameras provides important information for wildlife research and conservation. Deep learning technology can assist ecologists in automatically identifying and processing imagery captured from camera traps, improving research capabilities and efficiency. Currently, many general deep learning architectures have been proposed but few have evaluated their applicability for use in real camera trap scenarios. Our study constructed the Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park wildlife dataset (NTLNP dataset) for the first time and compared the real-world application performance of three currently mainstream object detection models. We hope this study provides a reference on the applicability of the AI technique in wild real-life scenarios and truly help ecologists to conduct wildlife conservation, management, and research more effectively. Camera traps are widely used in wildlife surveys and biodiversity monitoring. Depending on its triggering mechanism, a large number of images or videos are sometimes accumulated. Some literature has proposed the application of deep learning techniques to automatically identify wildlife in camera trap imagery, which can significantly reduce manual work and speed up analysis processes. However, there are few studies validating and comparing the applicability of different models for object detection in real field monitoring scenarios. In this study, we firstly constructed a wildlife image dataset of the Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park (NTLNP dataset). Furthermore, we evaluated the recognition performance of three currently mainstream object detection architectures and compared the performance of training models on day and night data separately versus together. In this experiment, we selected YOLOv5 series models (anchor-based one-stage), Cascade R-CNN under feature extractor HRNet32 (anchor-based two-stage), and FCOS under feature extractors ResNet50 and ResNet101 (anchor-free one-stage). The experimental results showed that performance of the object detection models of the day-night joint training is satisfying. Specifically, the average result of our models was 0.98 mAP (mean average precision) in the animal image detection and 88% accuracy in the animal video classification. One-stage YOLOv5m achieved the best recognition accuracy. Abstract: To promote service efficacy and quality, necessary competencies for family therapists have been specified by professional organizations and researchers in some countries; however, these competencies may not be a good ‘fit’ for family therapists in Taiwan. This research reviewed the core competencies proposed by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (US) and the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice in the UK (UK) and proposed the modified Taiwan Family Therapist Core Competencies (TFTCC) for family therapists in Taiwan. The draft then went through two rounds of the Delphi method to further develop it, based on the comments of local family therapy experts and practitioners. As a result, TFTCC were proposed with four domains and forty‐two specific competencies. The distinct characteristics and possible application of TFTCC are discussed, with recommendations for future research and implications. This thesis reviews the development of family therapy in Taiwan since its commence in 1969 to today, with two focuses on the status quo in practice and in training. The practice of family therapy in local hospitals, social welfare agencies and community counseling institutes are reviewed respectively, with a discussion of the challenges local family therapists encounter. The status quo of local family therapy trainings is also examined in terms of trainers, programs, professional organizations and licensure. The limitations and possible hindrances to the current professional training system are explored, and finally suggestions for the advance of local family therapy professional development in Taiwan are proposed. Although the systemic approach is considered to fit Chinese culture, the development of family therapy in Taiwan is recent, starting in 1969, and growing as a treatment modality in Taiwan for the past two decades. To examine this development, this article reviewed 127 locally published family therapy studies published during the years 1969-2009. Content analysis was used to examine these articles and the results clearly showed an increase in the amount of publications during this period. The focus of the studies also shifted from theoretical issues to practical concerns. An analysis of 15 of these articles, which were case reports, suggested a preference for local common practice, for example, a focus on therapist manoeuvres rather than the clients' perspectives, which might have hindered the development of successful practice. The availability of only certain forms of training might also have contributed to the clinical focus of family therapy in Taiwan. The article suggests that greater interest in the therapy process in future will enhance local practitioners' clinical efficacy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

An introduction is presented in which the editor discusses various reports within the issue on topics including cultural factors that influence family therapy for Asian Chinese families, multisystemic therapy (MST) for these families, and relationship between therapists and Asian Chinese families.

The discipline of marriage and family therapy (MFT) has been established around the world. Inspired by theories and models developed in Western countries, professionals in East Asian countries over the last two decades have been dedicated to introducing the concepts of MFT to local mental health professionals. This paper presents an overview of the cultural background of East Asian cultures, a summary of MFT development in East Asia, and a discussion of key challenges to advancing MFT in East Asia. We provide recommendations to overcome these obstacles, including bridging the gap between MFTs in the West and East Asia, developing country‐specific MFT development plans, establishing accreditation and licensing regulation, increasing the public awareness of MFT, increasing collaboration among training institutes and the number of qualified MFT trainers and training locations, and developing culturally attuned MFT training and practices. Asian Chinese families are experiencing constant changes. While commonly known cultural themes such as 'face', 'hierarchy', 'harmony' and 'filial piety' are useful references and important caveats in clinical settings, they are most useful when the context of larger socio-economic and political developments of recent decades is taken into account. This article is co-authored by seven experienced Asian therapists from China, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and the United Kingdom. They share their insights into working with Chinese families in Asia. In addition to considering cultural dimensions, the authors attempt to consolidate the understanding of Asian Chinese families by focusing on the effects of socio-economic and political development. Other than focusing on the unique characteristics and challenges of working with Chinese families in their region, they highlight the most useful therapeutic stances and approaches when working with Asian Chinese families.
