Excimer nano-second laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ns-LA-ICP-MS) is an important tool in chemical characterization of Cu alloys. However, variable matrix-induced elemental fractionation in Cu alloys poses a significant challenge. We systematically investigate this issue by analysing the Cultural Heritage Alloy Reference Material Set (CHARM) of Cu alloy targets. The extent to which silicate glass reference materials can be used when analysing Cu alloy targets is determined, as is the optimal internal standard, for a wide range of Cu alloy compositions. Analyses were further optimized by quantitative assessments of the use of CHARM end-member materials as external standards for other CHARM Cu alloy targets. The variable magnitude of the observed matrix effects is most readily explained by variations in Cu/Zn ratios and resulting differences in melting and boiling points, compared with external reference materials, making the Zn-rich Cu alloy targets most prone to matrix effects. With the correct choice of an external matrix-matched standard (Pb-rich CHARM reference material 32X LB14F) and internal element standardization, an accuracy of < 20% can be achieved for virtually all elements of interest in brass and bronze artefacts, which is a significant improvement compared with the use of glass external reference materials.

The Combination HIV Antiretroviral Rectal Microbicide-3 (CHARM-03) study was a randomized, open-label, crossover Phase 1 safety and pharmacokinetic (PK) study of oral maraviroc (MVC) and MVC 1% gel. At a single site, healthy HIV-uninfected men and women were enrolled and randomized to an open label crossover sequence of eight consecutive daily exposures to MVC 300 mg dosed orally, MCV 1% gel dosed rectally, and MVC 1% gel dosed vaginally. Male participants received oral and rectal dosing and female participants received oral, rectal, and vaginal dosing. Assessments were undertaken at baseline and following each 8-day period and included collection of plasma, rectal/cervical tissue (CT), and rectal/endocervical/vaginal fluids. Eleven men and nine women were enrolled. Two participants withdrew from the study before receiving study product. There were 25 adverse events, of which 24 were Grade 1 (G1) and one was G2 (unrelated). After eight doses, MVC was quantifiable in all samples following oral, rectal, or vaginal product administration. The highest drug concentrations in plasma, rectal tissue (RT), and CT were associated with oral, rectal, and vaginal drug delivery, respectively. Background An endpoint that has received some attention in recent cardiovascular trials is ‘days alive and out of hospital’ (DAOH). Percent DAOH is a natural extension of DAOH that adjusts for differences in length of follow-up. This endpoint measure incorporates mortality and morbidity together in a way that has the potential to give more insight regarding treatment effects compared to conventional time-to-event endpoints. Other advantages of this measure include the relative ease of collection and interpretation. However, research on how to analyze this measure is still limited. Methods We propose using the one-inflated beta model to analyze percent DAOH. This model is appropriate for highly left-skewed data with a large proportion of boundary values. Data from the Prospective Comparison of ARNI [Angiotensin Receptor-Neprilysin Inhibitor] with ACEI [Angiotensin-Converting-Enzyme Inhibitor] to Determine Impact on Global Mortality and Morbidity in Heart Failure Trial (PARADIGM-HF) and Candesartan in Heart Failure Assessment of Reduction in Mortality and morbidity (CHARM) trials are used to illustrate this method. Results Statistically significant differences in percent DAOH were observed for PARADIGM-HF and CHARM in favor of treatment. In PARADIGM-HF, treatment with sacubitril plus valsartan increased DAOH on average by 11 days (95% CI: 1.4-20.9 days) and increased percent DAOH by 1.64% at a fixed follow-up length of 1,000 days (95% CI: 0.61%- 2.67%). For the CHARM overall program, the candesartan group has 1.79% more DAOH (95% CI: 0.91%- 2.68%). Conclusion DAOH, and especially percent DAOH, can enhance our understanding of treatment effects in future cardiovascular trials, and the one-inflated beta model is an appropriate choice for its analysis.

We calculate, for the first time, the NNLO QCD corrections to identified heavy hadron production at hadron colliders. The calculation is based on a flexible numeric framework which allows the calculation of any distribution of a single identified heavy hadron plus jets and non-QCD particles. As a first application we provide NNLO QCD predictions for several differential distributions of B hadrons in t$$ \overline{t} $$ t ¯ events at the LHC. Among others, these predictions are needed for the precise determination of the top quark mass. The extension of our results to other processes, like open or associated B and charm production is straightforward. We also explore the prospects for extracting heavy flavor fragmentation functions from LHC data.

The mass spectra for the heavy-light $$(c{\bar{q}}) ;$$ ( c q ¯ ) ; $$q = u$$ q = u or d charmed mesons are computed based on a relativistic framework. The low-lying 1P states are found to be in an excellent agreement with the PDG reported values. Using the computed mass spectra and following effective Lagrangian approach based on heavy quark and chiral symmetry, the OZI allowed two body strong decays are computed. The computed decay rates, ratios and branching fractions allow us to identify the proper spin-parity assignments of the newly observed charm states. Accordingly, we could identify $$D_J(2560)$$ D J ( 2560 ) as $$2^1S_0$$ 2 1 S 0 , $$D_J^*(2680)$$ D J ∗ ( 2680 ) as $$2^3S_1$$ 2 3 S 1 , $$D_J(2740)$$ D J ( 2740 ) as $$1^3D_2$$ 1 3 D 2 , $$D_J^*(2760)$$ D J ∗ ( 2760 ) as $$1^3D_3$$ 1 3 D 3 , $$D^*_J(3000)$$ D J ∗ ( 3000 ) as $$2^3P_0$$ 2 3 P 0 , $$D_J(3000)$$ D J ( 3000 ) as $$2^1P_1$$ 2 1 P 1 and $$D^*_2(3000)$$ D 2 ∗ ( 3000 ) as $$1^3F_2$$ 1 3 F 2 open charm states. The effective coupling constants, $$g_T$$ g T , $$\tilde{g_H}$$ g H ~ , $$g_Y$$ g Y , $$\tilde{g_S}$$ g S ~ and $$g_Z$$ g Z extracted from the present study are found to be in accordance with the reported values. These coupling constants would be useful in further investigations. We found $$D^{*+} \pi ^-$$ D ∗ + π - as a favorable channel for the experimental search of the missing $$1^1F_3$$ 1 1 F 3 state.

Recently, the hidden charm tetraquark states Z cs ( 3985 ) and Z cs ( 4000 ) with strangeness were observed by the BESIII and LHCb collaborations, respectively, which are great breakthroughs for exploring exotic quantum chromodynamics (QCD) structures. The first and foremost question is whether they are the same state. In this work, we explore the implications of the narrower state Z cs ( 3985 ) in BESIII and the wider one Z cs ( 4000 ) in LHCb as two different states. Within a solvable nonrelativistic effective field theory, we include the possible violations of heavy quark spin symmetry and SU(3) flavor symmetry in a comprehensive approach. If Z cs ( 3985 ) and Z cs ( 4000 ) are two different states, our results show that Z cs ( 4000 ) / Z cs ( 3985 ) is the pure ( | D ‾ s ∗ D 〉 + / - | D ‾ s D ∗ 〉 ) / 2 state, and the SU(3) flavor partner of Z c ( 3900 ) is Z cs ( 4000 ) rather than the Z cs ( 3985 ) . Another two important consequences are the existence of a tensor D ‾ s ∗ D ∗ resonance with mass about 4126 MeV and width 13 MeV, and the suppression of the decay mode Z cs ( 3985 ) → J / ψ K . The two consequences can be tested in experiments and distinguish the two-state interpretation from the one-state scheme.

We calculated a subclass of four nonleptonic two-body weak decays of the double charm baryon ground states Ξcc++. Nonleptonic decays can be dividedinto two group: factorizable and nonfactorizable decays. The first one can be easily calculated from first principles. Therefore, its good example understands all pros and cons of a model. We focused on a weak two-body nonleptonic decay consists only fromthe factorizing contribution precluding a contamination from W-exchange. We use the covariant confined quark model previously developed by us to calculate the various helicity amplitudes which describe the dynamics of the transition induced by the Cabibbo-favored effective currents. Achievement of CCQM is that only size parameter Λvarying can describe all tree diagrams of nonleptonic decay. We then proceed to calculate the rates of the decay. The rates, branching ratios and helicity amplitude were calculated using dimensionless invariant form factors. Also, we calculated leptonic constant for scalar and vector mesons which has good agreement with experimental data. There isn’t any experimental data about the decay so we waiting for new experimental observation in the heavy baryon sector.

The change in the energy of the moving heavy (charm and bottom) quarks due to field fluctuations present in the hot QCD medium has been studied. A finite quark chemical potential has been considered while modeling the hot QCD medium counting the fact that the upcoming experimental facilities such as Anti-proton and Ion Research (FAIR) and Nuclotron-based Ion Collider fAcility (NICA) are expected to operate at finite baryon density and moderate temperature. The effective kinetic theory approach has been adopted where the collisions have been incorporated using the well defined collisional kernel, known as Bhatnagar-Gross-Krook (BGK). To incorporate the non-ideal equations of state (EoSs) effects/ medium interaction effects, an extended effective fugacity model has been adopted. The momentum dependence of the energy change due to fluctuation for the charm and bottom quark has been investigated at different values of collision frequency and chemical potential. Improving the accuracy of reconstruction of the decay vertices of short-lived particles plays a fundamental role in the heavy-flavor sector of the MPD physics program. The MPD inner tracking system (ITS) based on a new generation of silicon detectors,—monolithic active pixel sensors (MAPS)—would certainly offer new possibilities within the scope of charm particle detection. A quality assessment of the MPD tracking system including ITS and time projection chamber (TPC), when reconstructing the decays of D‑mesons produced in central Au + Au collisions at $$\sqrt {{{s}_{{NN}}}} $$ = 9 GeV has been performed in the course of computer simulations in the Mpdroot framework. The selection of D-meson signals in the invariant mass spectrum of their decay products was performed using a toolkit for multivariate data analysis.

This work presents the latest highlights of open heavy-flavour measurements by the ALICE Collaboration in pp, p–Pb, and Pb–Pb collisions from Run 2 of the LHC. This study aims: (1) to find Islamic values ​​contained in the novel "Pudarnya Pesona Cleopatra" by Habibburrahman El Shirazy; and (2) describe the form of representation of Islamic values ​​contained in the novel "The Faded of Cleopatra’s Enchantment" by Habibburrahman El Shirazy. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data are in the form of words and phrases contained in the "The Faded of Cleopatra’s Enchantment" by Habibburrahman El Shirazy which reveals information about Islamic values ​​that come from the Al Qur’an and Hadith. Based on the results of the analysis that has been done, it can be concluded that the Islamic values ​​contained in the novel 'Faded Pesona Cleopatra' include the values ​​of Akidah, Sharia, and morals. These values ​​are represented in the story in the form of faith in Allah; Faith in the Bible (Al Qur’an) for the value of faith. Sharia values ​​are represented in the form of sunnah fasting; propose (khitbah); wedding; while moral values ​​are represented in the form of personal morals, namely the nature of patience; as well as character in the family which includes obedience and filial piety to parents; pious and obedient to her husband; as well as connecting kinship/friendship ties.

The article explores the mechanisms of memory culture and the commercialization of the socialist heritage from the period of the People’s Republic of Poland (PRL) (from 1945 to 1989) as a tourist destination, societal practice and cultural resource in today’s Warsaw. At the intersection of heritage studies, historical tourism and material culture, the ethnographic analysis focuses on three empirical case studies as examples of the commercial popularization of the history of the PRL. These are thecommunist heritage toursoffered byWPT 1313and the documentation of the socialist heritage at theMuseum of Life in the PRLand theNeon Museum. These commodified products of Warsaw’s tourism and entertainment culture fill a gap in the tourist market, based on the prototypical, nostalgic longing of tourists for a sensual and emotional experience of the “authentic past”. This predominantly participant observation-based ethnographic study on the practices, spaces, images and agents filling this touristic niche, illustrates how they create sensual-emotive, aesthetic and performative fields of reifying, discovering and experiencing the socialist past. Finally, the paper focuses on how these polyvalent mechanisms shape the tourist infrastructure of Warsaw oscillating between critical distancing and entertaining appropriation of the socialist heritage.

We investigate a dark sector containing a pair of light non-degenerate scalar particles, with masses in the MeV-GeV range, coupled to the visible sector through heavier mediators. The heaviest dark state is long-lived, and its decays offer new testable signals. We analyze the prospects for detection with the proposed beam-dump facility SHiP, and the proposed LHC experiments FASER and MATHUSLA. Moreover, we consider bounds from the beam-dump experiment CHARM and from colliders (LEP, LHC and BaBar). We present our results both in terms of an effective field theory, where the heavy mediators have been integrated out, and of a simplified model containing a vector boson mediator, which can be heavy $\gtrsim\mathcal{O}(1)$ TeV, or light $\mathcal{O}(10)$ GeV. We show that future experiments can test large portions of the parameter space currently unexplored, and that they are complementary to future High-Luminosity LHC searches., Comment: 25 pages, 2 appendices, 6 figures. v2: version accepted for publication. In this paper, we present a feasibility study of the first measurement of the longitudinal polarization of a muon from the $$\tau$$ -lepton decay to extract the Michel parameter $$\xi^{\prime}$$ at the future Super Charm-Tau Factory (SCTF). The expected number of $$\mu^{-}\to e^{-}\nu_{\mu}\bar{\nu}_{e}$$ events on the full SCTF data was estimated, possible background processes were studied, and methods of their suppression were suggested. Statistical accuracy was estimated to be $$\sigma_{\xi^{\prime}}\approx 0.02$$ , which enables a new verification of the Standard Model at high precision level.

A method is suggested that allows the first measurement of the polarization of muons from τ-lepton decays at the Super charm-tau Factory. To measure the polarization, it is proposed to use muons decayed in flight in the drift chamber of the detector, when both tracks, mother and daughter, were reconstructed by the reconstruction program. The method is based on the correlation between the muon spin and daughter electron momentum. We used a Monte Carlo simulation with the Super charm-tau Factory detector parameters to estimate the number of decayed-in-flight muons. Possible background processes were studied and methods for their suppression were proposed. The expected statistical uncertainty for muon polarization measurement is about 2%.

Wrzeszcz is one of the oldest suburban districts, incorporated into Gdańsk in 1814. In the nineteenth century, the district gained railway and tram connections and it developed dynamically. Rural buildings quickly gave way to manor houses, new villa districts were created. In the picturesque surroundings of forested hills, new eclectic villas were built along Jaśkowa Dolina Street. Most of them survived World War II and still enchants us with their beauty.

We evaluate drag and diffusion transport coefficients comparing a quasi-particle approximation with on-shell constituents of the QGP medium and a dynamical quasi-particles model with off-shell bulk medium at finite temperature T. We study the effects of the width $\gamma$ of the particles of the bulk medium on the charm quark transport properties exploring the range where $\gamma < M_{q,g}$. We find that off-shell effects are in general quite moderate and can induce a reduction of the drag coefficient at low momenta that disappear already at moderate momenta, $p \gtrsim 2-3\, \rm GeV$. We also observe a moderate reduction of the breaking of the Fluctuation-Dissipation theorem (FDT) at finite momenta. Moreover, we have performed a first study of the dynamical evolution of HQ elastic energy loss in a bulk medium at fixed temperature extending the Boltzmann (BM) collision integral to include off-shell dynamics. A comparison among the Langevin dynamics, the BM collisional integral with on-shell and the BM extension to off-shell dynamics shows that the evolution of charm energy when off-shell effects are included remain quite similar to the case of the on-shell BM collision integral., Comment: 13 pages, 14 figures

This study aimed to determine the structure and function of healing and charm spells in Makarti Jaya village, Banyuasin District. This research used a qualitative descriptive method. The source of the data was 22 healing and charm spells which are taken from three informants. The data analysis used was content analysis. The results of this study indicated that not all spells mention a name component because some spells do not have a name element but still do not reduce the magical value of the spell, for a name is not a measure of whether the spell is effective. In the component of the opening greeting, The suggestions received in the analyzed spell are aimed at making the spell look pleasing. In the objective component, all spells have the same goal, which is to captivate the opposite sex. Whereas the closing element of all spells uses words from Arabic such as laillahailallah muhamadarasulullah. From the analysis of the seven healing spells and fifteen charm spells, it showed that the spell has a different structure and function according to the verse contained in the spell.

The fear of charm is a commonplace in the sociopolitical and economic life of many Nigerians. Notably, researchers are yet to develop a measure that will assess fear of charm in Nigeria and within the African population in general. In this regard, this paper reports the development of the Fear of Charm Scale (FCS) among Nigerian adults and demonstrates its reliability and validity evidences. The development of the FCS entails item generation, content validity, determining its underlying factor structure, internal consistency and construct validity. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses indicated three-factor structures for the FCS. The scale demonstrated good psychometric properties in terms of adequate reliability, convergence and discriminant validity. By using the FCS, social science researchers can now reliably and validly measure the construct of fear of charm and assess its influence on other psychological variables such as self-efficacy, psychotic symptoms, work performance, psychological well-being etc.

A method of employing semileptonic $$K^{0}$$ -meson decays is proposed. Combined with a time-dependent analysis of decay parameters of initially produced combination, it permits extracting $$K^{0}{-}\bar{K}^{0}$$ . These measurements could be applied to heavy-flavor physics problems—in particular, charm physics. A feasibility study for the strong-phase difference in charm decays is performed.

The near-threshold photoproduction of $J/\psi$ is regarded as one golden process to unveil the nucleon mass structure, pentaquark state involving the charm quarks, and the poorly constrained gluon distribution of the nucleon at large $x$ ($>0.1$). In this paper, we present an analysis of the current experimental data under a two-gluon exchange model, which shows a good consistency. Using a parameterized function form with three free parameters, we have determined the nucleonic gluon distribution at the $J/\psi$ mass scale. Moreover, we predict the differential cross section of the electroproduction of $J/\psi$ as a function of the invariant mass of the final hadrons $W$, at EicC, as a practical application of the model and the obtained gluon distribution. According to our estimation, thousands of $J/\psi$ events can be detected per year on EicC near the threshold. Therefore, the relevant experimental measurements are suggested to be carried out on EicC., Comment: 6 pages, 7 figures

We construct the D4/D8 brane configuration in the Witten-Sakai-Sugimoto model by introducing a pair of heavy flavour brane with a heavy-light open string. The multiplets created by the heavy-light string acquire mass due to the finite separation of the heavy and light flavour branes thus they could be identified as the heavy-light meson fields in this model. On the other hand the glueball field is identified as the gravitational fluctuations carried by the close string in the bulk, so this model is able to describe the interaction of glueball and heavy-light meson through the open-close string interaction in gauge-gravity duality. We explicitly derive the effective action for the various glueballs and heavy-light mesons then numerically evaluate the associated coupling constants. Afterwards the decay widths of various glueballs to the lowest heavy-light meson, which is identified as $D^{0}$ meson, are calculated by using our effective action.
