Hot-rolled strip steel is a material widely used in production activities and daily life. However, the appearance of surface defects during its production process is inevitable. To address this issue, we introduce a new detection method using Gold-Yolo to detect surface defects on hot-rolled strip steel. Our method effectively balances accuracy and real-time performance while detecting four common types of surface defects, achieving an average accuracy rate of 82,2 % for detecting individual types of surface defects. Experimental data prove that our method excels in classifying and locating surface defects on hot-rolled steel strip, demonstrating broad application prospects and promotional value. We have investigated magnetic and electrical properties of amorphous Co-Fe-Zr-B alloy films with A1 and O additions, deposited on rotating Si substrates by dc magnetron sputtering. Microstructural characterization carried out on these films shows the amorphous nature of films. The Co-Fe-Zr-B-A1-O films do not exhibit any uniaxial anisotropy in magnetization behavior in the as-deposited condition. However, a strong uniaxial anisotropy is introduced in the film plane by annealing at 200 °C for 2 h and in an applied field of ∼ 150 Oe. The observed in-plane uniaxial anisotropy field (H[sub k]) is as high as ∼ 38 Oe and the easy-axis coercivity is less than 1.5 Oe for the Co-Fe-Zr-B-A1-O film with 7 at. % A1. The ferromagnetic resonance frequency reaches a high value of ∼ 2.05 GHz, as a result of this large anisotropy field. It is also found that the soft magnetic properties of amorphous films have a strong dependence on the film composition. As a kind of existing and potential geological disaster at the source of avalanche on cliffs or steep slopes, perilous rock has developed in the western area of China widely, and it has posed a serious threat to highways, railways, pipelines, cities, and mining for a long time. More than ten years of engineering experience have shown the necessity and importance to pay our attention to the avalanche sources in active collapse mitigation. The support–anchor combined technique is devoted to the active hazard mitigation measures of perilous rock. This paper introduces fracture mechanics to investigate the design procedure of the support–anchor combined technique. To obtain reasonable design parameters of the technique, both stability assessment criterion and three safety classes of protection engineering for perilous rock is proposed, further, stable analysis methods for various types of perilous rock are established by using fracture mechanics. Abiding by the idea that to improve stability coefficient to a higher level, the support force of structure and the anchorage force of anchorbolt from the support–anchor combined technique are introduced into stability analysis methods established above, which can estimate the section dimension of support subunit and the amount of anchorbolt of the technique. Relativistic electromagnetic ion cyclotron instabilities driven by fusion-produced fast ions in magnetized plasmas can have two peaks in their growth rate spectrum. The wave numbers of these two peaks are close to the first and second peaks, respectively, of the Bessel function that is in the resonance driving term. The driving of the second Bessel and growth rate peak occurring at a higher wave number is weaker than that of the first peak. Surprisingly, as in contrast to conventional wisdom, the second peak can dominate near the instability threshold. For the higher energy of fusion-produced fast ion such as 14.7 MeV, the slow ion temperature is required to be higher for overcoming the threshold to drive a cubic instability, which is determined by an Alfvénic condition. This cubic instability is due to the coupling of the first-order slow ion resonance and second-order fast ion resonance. This finite temperature effect is on the slow ion resonance and increases with wave number and thus the threshold is first satisfied near the second peak. Therefore, the second peak appears earlier in the instability spectrum and dominates near the threshold. The cubic instability has a much larger frequency mismatch than a coupled quadratic instability; a larger frequency mismatch indicates more fast ion energy to loss before the nonlinear saturation of the instability. When the slow ion temperature or density is about twice that of the threshold, the second peak has transited from the cubic to the coupled quadratic instability while the first peak remains as the cubic instability, in contrast to the previous 3.02 MeV proton case. Background Gene and stem cell therapies hold promise for the treatment of ischaemic cardiovascular disease. However, combined stem cell and angiogenic growth factor gene therapy for acute ischaemic myocardium has not been previously reported. This study hypothesized that combined stem cell and gene therapy would not only augment new vessels formation but also improve myocardial function in acute ischaemic myocardium. Methods Human angiopoietin-1 (Ang1) cDNA and VEGF165 cDNA were ligated into AAV vector. The purified CD34+ cells were obtained from human umbilical cord blood samples. Cord blood CD34+ cells were transduced with AAV vector encoding either the human Ang1 (AAV-Ang1) or VEGF165 (AAV-VEGF) cDNA alone, or both (AAV-Ang1 plus VEGF). Immediately after ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery in male SCID mice, culture-expanded CD34+ cells transduced with AAV-Ang1, AAV-VEGF or AAV-Ang1 plus VEGF were injected intramyocardially at the left anterior free wall. Results Western blot showed that Ang1 and VEGF protein expressions were enhanced in the CD34+cells transduced with AAV-Ang1 and AAV-VEGF, respectively. Infarct size significantly decreased and capillary density significantly increased after treatment with CD34+/AAV-Ang1 plus VEGF when compared with treatment by CD34+ only. Combined therapy with CD34+ and AAV-Ang1, CD34+ and AAV-VEGF, CD34+ and AAV-Ang1 plus VEGF, all showed significantly higher cardiac performance in echocardiography than the therapy with CD34+ alone 4 weeks after myocardial infarction. Conclusions Combined therapy with human umbilical cord blood CD34+ cells and both Ang1 and VEGF genes reduced infarct size, attenuated the progression of cardiac dysfunction and increased capillary density in acute myocardial infarction in mice. The reaction between titanium pellet and nitrogen was investigated, under a regime in which both chemical reaction and gas pore diffusion were important, and on the basis of this study a physicochemical model was formulated to describe the reaction system. T he chemical reaction rate expressions, determined in the chemical reaction control region, were used to interpret the experimental data in the light of the model. T he expression for effective gas diffusivity D[sub e], which was used as a fitting parameter for calculation of the theoretical predictions, was determined to be 1·37 × 10 [sup - 5] exp(-13000/RT) m[sup 2] s [sup - 1]. Deviation was found between the predictions of the model and the experimental data as the pellet thickness was increased. This is explained by the geometrical difference between the mathematical model, with flat surfaces only, and the actual pellet with both flat and circumferential surfaces. A geometrical factor g was introduced to compensate for this difference, the value of which was calculated to be 1/( 1 + 11·47L), where L is the half thickness of the sample. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The dynamic behavior of a symmetric gyro with linear-plus-cubic damping, which is subjected to a harmonic excitation, is studied in this paper. The Liapunov direct method has been used to obtain the sufficient conditions of the stability of the equilibrium points of the system. By applying numerical results, time history, phase diagrams, Poincare´ maps, Liapunov exponents and Liapunov dimensions are presented to observe periodic and chaotic motions. Besides, several control methods, the delayed feedback control, the addition of constant motor torque, the addition of period force, and adaptive control algorithm (ACA), have been used to control chaos effectively. Finally, attention is shifted to the synchronization of chaos in the two identical chaotic motions of symmetric gyros. The results show that one can make two identical chaotic systems to synchronize through applying four different kinds of one-way coupling. Furthermore, the synchronization time is also examined. The carbon forms made from sucrose and microcapsules have successfully fabricated using gel-casting method. The structure, density, compressive strength and thermal conductivity were characterized. Carbon foams have porous structure of open cells and closed cells. The density of carbon foams is regulated in the range of 0.29-0.65 g/cm3, whereas the compressive strength is in the range of 1.03-20.25 MPa. The thermal conductivity at room temperature of carbon foams can be as low as 0.11 W/m·K. Therefore, these carbon foams have potential for use as the thermal insulator. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A 96.4-100.8 GHz quadrature oscillator utilising transformer-coupled and magnetic tuning techniques has been implemented in 90 nm CMOS technology. Under 1 V supply operation, experimental results show that the phase and amplitude error between I and Q paths are smaller than 1.6° and 0.9 dB with power dissipation from 8.7 to 21 mW. The carbothermic reduction of zinc sulfide in the presence of calcium oxide and lithium carbonate was studied using a thermogravimetric analysis system (TGA), an X-ray diffractometer (XRD), an atomic absorption spectrometer (AAS), a carbon and sulfur determinator (CSD), an elemental analyzer (EA), a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and a surface area analyzer (SAA). Experimental results revealed that the reaction rate was significantly enhanced by the lithium carbonate catalyst. The results of TGA, AAS, CSD and EA were found to be comparable. The kinetics of the carbothermic reduction of zinc sulfide in the presence of calcium carbonate was investigated by an atomic absorption spectrometer (AAS) and a thermogravimetric analysis system (TGA). Experimental results indicate that TGA data accompanying with the equation derived from two-stage mechanism can be used to calculate the zinc yield properly. The results of TGA revealed that the rate of reduction in the presence of calcium carbonate was close to that in the presence of calcium oxide. The reduction rate was found to increase with increasing the reaction temperature, the initial molar ratio of C/ZnS, or the initial molar ratio of CaCO3/ZnS and with decreasing the argon flow rate, the sample height, the size of carbon aggregate, the size of calcium carbonate aggregate or the initial bulk density. The carbothermic reduction of zinc sulfide in the presence of calcium oxide has been studied using X-ray diffractometry (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and surface area measurements. The results of XRD indicated that zinc sulfide was first transformed from β type to α type, then reacted to give an intermediate product of zinc oxide before being reduced finally to zinc vapor. The sulfur of zinc sulfide was scavenged as calcium sulfide which remained in the solid, and carbon black formed carbon monoxide. SEM showed that the zinc containing particles and carbon grains shrank gradually; the calcium containing grains swelled and sintered during the reaction. The surface area of the solid sample decreased drastically in the initial stage and then increased with reaction time; the pore volume of the solid sample was also reduced much faster initially and then increased slowly. The average pore diameter, however, increased remarkably in the initial stage, decreased and then leveled off. These results were explained by considering the phase transformation of zinc sulfide, escape of zinc vapor, gasification of carbon and expansion and sintering of calcium sulfide. A reaction mechanism and model are proposed to explain the variations in chemical composition and physical properties of the solid sample during the reaction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We measure the He-like, time-resolved emission from two types of thin foils (1) consisting of 250 A˚ of carbon together with 250 A˚ of aluminum and (2) 500 A˚ aluminum, illuminated with a 150 fs laser pulse at an intensity of 1019 W/cm2. Dielectronic satellite contributions to the resonance transitions 1s2–1s2p(1P), 1s2–1s3p(1P), and 1s2–1s4p(1P) are modeled using the configuration-averaged code AVERROE`S and is found to be significant for all three resonance lines. The effects of opacity are inferred from the data and found to be significant only in the 1s2–1s2p(1P). [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Aims:  To elucidate the clinicopathological features and prognostic factors of primary intestinal diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PI-DLBL). Methods and results:  Archival tissues from 30 tumours were used for tissue microarray construction, immunohistochemistry and interphase fluorescence in situ hybridization for chromosomal translocation. The M:F ratio was 1.7:1, with a median age of 60 years. The ileum and ileocaecum were most frequently involved (40% each). Fourteen (47%) were at stage IE disease, 15 (50%) at stage IIE. Five (17%) tumours were perforated at presentation. The tumours expressed Bcl-6 (73%), MUM1 (70%), Bcl-2 (67%) and CD10 (23%). Nine (30%) were classified as germinal centre B-cell (GCB) phenotype and 21 non-GCB. Eight of 30 (27%), 7/30 (23%) and 2/29 (7%) cases were positive for rearrangements involving IGH, BCL6, and C-MYC loci, respectively, whereas all cases were negative for BCL2 and CCND1 translocation. Perforation was a poor prognostic indicator, with a hazard ratio of tumour-related death at 8.75 ( P = 0.001). The differentiation antigens, GCB versus non-GCB phenotype, or lymphoma-associated translocations were of no prognostic significance. Conclusions:  We found a higher rate of perforation and lower frequency of GCB phenotype in PI-DLBL in Taiwan compared with other geographical areas; perforation is a poor prognostic indicator.
