Abstract

Topological superconductivity emerges in chains or arrays of magnetic atoms coupled to a superconductor. However, the external controllability of such systems with gate voltages is detrimental for their future implementation in a topological quantum computer. Here we showcase the supramolecular assembly of radical molecules on Pb(111), whose discharge is controlled by the tip of a scanning tunneling microscope. Charged molecules carry a spin-1/2 state, as confirmed by observing Yu-Shiba-Rusinov in-gap states by tunneling spectroscopy at millikelvin temperature. Low energy modes are localized at island boundaries with a long decay towards the interior, whose spectral signature is consistent with Majorana zero modes protected by mirror symmetry. 11. Wetland Quality as a Determinant of Economic Value of Ecosystem Services: an Exploration

Abstract

Wetland quality is a critical factor in determining values of wetland goods and services. However, in many studies on wetland valuation, wetland quality has been ignored. While those studies might give useful information to the local people for decision-making, their lack of wetland quality information may lead to the difficulty in integrating wetland quality into a cross-studies research like meta-analysis. In a meta-analysis, a statistical regression function needs withdrawing from those individual studies for analysis and prediction. This research introduces the wetland quality factor, a critical but frequently missed factor, into a meta-analysis and simultaneously considers other influential factors, such as study method, socio-economic state and other wetland site characteristics, as well. Thus, a more accurate and valid meta-regression function is expected. Due to no obvious quality information in primary studies, we extract two kinds of wetland states from the study context as relative but globally consistent quality measurement to use in the analysis, as the first step to explore the effect of wetland quality on values of ecosystem services.

22. Task Performance: Report on the Study of Social and Emotional Skills of Chinese Adolescents (I)

Abstract

Task Performance is greatly significant in the field of education. The OECD defines Task Performance as the ability to function based on conscientiousness in the "Big Five" personality domains. People with high Task Performance tend to also have significant conscientiousness. In other words, they are more self-controlled, more responsible, and more persistent. As a result, they focus well on tasks and earn better grades. Task Performance includes self-control, responsibility, and perseverance. The study surveyed 3,647 10-year-old students and 3,621 15-year-old students in Suzhou (China) on their Task Performance by using self-assessment questionnaires, parent surveys, and teacher evaluation. The main results of the study are presented: (1) The overall status of task performance; (2) Predictive variable analysis of task performance; and (3) Task performance and life. Abstract

The form of online teaching in the information age has become the mainstream of the construction of civil aviation professional English courses in Civics. In this paper, the digital resource module for the English course Civics for Civil Aviation Professionals is screened out by combining it with the teaching design of the Civics course for civil aviation English courses. With the help of the subtitle text selection method and the semi-supervised model of S4VM to label the teaching resources of the English course Civics, the CUMPF model is used to recommend the teaching resources of the English course Civics. Collecting and organizing the online learning behavior data of flipped classrooms to explore the influence of long and short-acting course resource design factors on the continuity of online learning, and recommending teaching resources based on the analysis results. The results of the effectiveness of the construction of the civil aviation professional English course’s Civic and political construction are analyzed from the degree of integration of the course’s Civic and political elements as well as from the four dimensions of course background, course guarantee, course implementation, and course effect, respectively. The integration degree of English course Civics resources for civil aviation majors is the best, which can reach up to 3.9315. The overall construction scores of the English course Civics are 0.907, 0.809, 0.744, and 0.768. The construction of the course implementation dimension needs to be improved, and the teaching materials of the English course Civics need to be improved in terms of writing and design. Civil aviation majors can benefit from the study’s ability to check and fill in the gaps in the Civics and Politics of English course construction.
