Background: Hypertension is a chronic disease that consumes considerable medical resources. Aim: The aim of this study is to evaluate a model able to develop and assess the effectiveness of a mobile application disease self‐management programme regarding mental health and self‐management for patients with hypertension. Methods: A randomised controlled trial and single‐blind random assignment was employed to group the participants. A total of 100 patients were collected from the cardiology clinic of a teaching hospital in Taiwan. There were 50 participants in each group: the mobile application group (experimental group) and the routine care (control group). The primary outcome measures were mental health and self‐management. Results: This study discovered that the intervention improved the mental health and self‐management of the experimental group. The results for the experimental group revealed significantly improved effects and outcomes superior to those of the control group. Conclusions: The study results verified that a mobile application disease self‐management programme could improve the mental health and disease self‐management of patients with hypertension. Objective: Develop new natural characteristic plant tobacco flavor. Methods: The volatile oil from the seeds, leaves and stems of Pelargonium odoratissimum was extracted by simultaneous steam distillation solvent extraction （SDE）. The chemical components of volatile oil were analyzed by GC/MS, and the effects of volatile oil from different parts of Cardamom geranium in cigarette flavoring and conventional components of smoke were compared. Results: The volatile oil of Cardamom geranium seeds was mainly terpinen-4-ol（110.54 mg/g），myristicin（81.81 mg/g），β-phellandrene（58.33 mg/g）. The main components of leaf essential oil were linalool（90.04 mg/g），myristicin（59.09 mg/g）terpinen-4-ol（39.69 mg/g）. The stem essential oil was dominated by D-limonene （45.56 mg/g）， linalool（13.26 mg/g）， 3,7-dimethyl-1,5,7-octatrien-3-ol （12.11 mg/g）. Conclusion: Three kinds of volatile oils can give cigarettes unique flavor in varying degrees, improve aroma quality and aroma quantity, and reduce irritation.

This study applied a cross-sectional design to examine the relationship between self-management, psychological well-being, and quality of life in patients with hypertension and evaluated the mediation effect of psychological well-being on self-management and quality of life. Through purposive sampling, this study enrolled 255 patients with hypertension from the cardiology department of a teaching hospital in Taiwan. Mediation effects were estimated using linear regression and the Sobel test. Age, number of chronic diseases, waist circumference, self-management, and psychological well-being explained 18.7% of the total variance in quality of life. Psychological well-being partially mediated the effects of self-management on quality of life, with a total effect of 19.2%. Hyperuricemia is a common metabolic disease that is intimately correlated with inflammation. Our study aimed to investigate the value of systemic inflammation response index as a novel inflammatory marker to estimate hyperuricemia in the rural Chinese population. This cross-sectional study used the data of 8,095 Chinese men and women aged ≥35 years from the 2012–2013 Northeast China Rural Cardiovascular Health Study. The overall prevalence of hyperuricemia was 12.84%. After fully adjusting for potential confounders, each SD increase of SIRI in men and women caused a 21.4% and 37.0% additional risk, respectively, for hyperuricemia. Moreover, smooth curve fitting and subgroup analyses corroborated the linearity and robustness of this correlation. ROC analysis showed the ability of SIRI to estimate hyperuricemia was significantly improved in females (0.741 vs 0.745, P = 0.043), but not in males (0.710 vs 0.714, P = 0.105). The net reclassification improvement (NRI, 0.120 in men vs 0.166 in women) and integrated discrimination improvement (IDI, 0.002 in men vs 0.006 in women) showed a significant improvement for both genders. Our present study suggests a linear and robust relationship between SIRI and prevalent hyperuricemia, which implicates the value of SIRI to optimize the risk stratification and prevention of hyperuricemia. The primary aim of this study is to develop a recovery process for PhSO3K from the industrial waste of Qpe (quizalofop-p-ethyl) production. The solubility data for the PhSO3K-K2CO3-H2O system at 15, 25, 35, 45, and 55 °C were determined to obtain the phase diagram of the system. Moreover, the different crystallization fields in the phase diagram of 25 °C were analyzed. The separation technology of PhSO3K from the PhSO3K-K2CO3-H2O system was designed based on the phase diagram. Furthermore, the PhSO3K and K2CO3 in a wastewater from Qpe production were crystallized in sequence by evaporation according to the designed method. The organic impurities precipitated concomitantly with PhSO3K were washed out by ethanol. Finally, the purified PhSO3K was converted to (R)-ethyl O-bezenesulfonyl lactate, the intermediate of Qpe production. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
