Common buckwheat is a nutritionally dense minor grain crop. However, the self-incompatible (SI), shattering, and low yield limits its wide cultivation. In this study, the hybrid experiments were performed to a) identify self-compatible parental material with non-shattering hybrid offspring, b) investigate the heterosis, and c) evaluate the relationship between heterosis and parental genetic distances (GD) in common buckwheat. As a result, nineteen self-compatible wild common buckwheat pure lines were identified with non-shattering hybrid offspring, and 58 hybrids were produced by single crossing between these 19 pure lines and four common buckwheat cultivars. For five agronomic and one quality trait, the 58 hybrids showed significant mid- and high-parent heterosis in common buckwheat. Furthermore, the GD values among parental lines were successfully calculated based on the random-amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) and sequence tagged site (STS) molecular markers. Non-significant relationship was observed between heterosis and parental GDs for any trait under this study, suggesting that the parental GDs could not be reliable to predict the heterosis in common buckwheat. Supercritical fluids have intriguing behaviors at extreme pressure and temperature conditions, prompting the need for thermodynamic properties of supercritical fluid xenon (SCF) under shock compression. Double-shock experimental data on SCF xenon in the 140 GPa pressure range were directly measured by means of a multi-channel pyrometer and a Doppler-pins-system. It entered the so-called warm dense region. We found that the shock compressed SCF Xe had higher dynamic compression and higher number density than that of liquid Xe at same shock pressure. The larger compressibility of SCF Xe in our experiments could be explained that the increase of electronic excitations and ionizations leaded to a large drop of thermal pressure and a softening of Hugoniot. The high pressure phase diagram of xenon was depicted with the aid of the degeneracy, coupling parameter, and current available experiments on the pressure-temperature plane. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In contrast to the single shock compression state that can be obtained directly via experimental measurements, the multi-shock compression states, however, have to be calculated with the aid of theoretical models. In order to determine experimentally the multiple shock states, a diagnostic approach with the Doppler pins system (DPS) and the pyrometer was used to probe multiple shocks in dense argon plasmas. Plasma was generated by a shock reverberation technique. The shock was produced using the flyer plate impact accelerated up to ∼6.1 km/s by a two-stage light gas gun and introduced into the plenum argon gas sample, which was pre-compressed from the environmental pressure to about 20 MPa. The time-resolved optical radiation histories were determined using a multi-wavelength channel optical transience radiance pyrometer. Simultaneously, the particle velocity profiles of the LiF window was measured with multi-DPS. The states of multi-shock compression argon plasma were determined from the measured shock velocities combining the particle velocity profiles. We performed the experiments on dense argon plasmas to determine the principal Hugonoit up to 21 GPa, the re-shock pressure up to 73 GPa, and the maximum measure pressure of the fourth shock up to 158 GPa. The experimental equation of state and temperature data of the dense gaseous H2 + D2 mixtures under multi-shock compression were presented in a pressure range of 2-36 GPa and a temperature range of 2300-5300 K. The strong shock wave was produced using the flyer plate impact by accelerated up to 5.1-6.2 km/s with a two-stage light-gas gun and introduced into the plenum gas sample, which was pre-compressed from environmental pressure to 30-40 MPa. Time-resolved spectral radiation histories were acquired with two sets of multi-wavelength channel pyrometers, which were used to determine the shock velocity and shock temperature in the sample. Shock pressure and particle velocity were obtained by the impedance matching method. The experimental data prove the validity of self-consistent fluid variational theory (SFVT) model in the partial dissociation region. The time-resolved spectral radiation histories along with the SFVT calculation show that the shocked gas samples lose their transparency in visible light wavelength ranges of 400-800 nm at about 12.99 GPa and 4413 K or higher. Time-resolved spectral radiation histories of the gaseous H2+He mixtures under shock loadings were measured by using a six-wavelength channel pyrometer. The initial gaseous mixtures had a mole component of H2:He=1:1.21, which were shocked from room temperature and initial pressure of 20 MPa to a pressure range of 1–30 GPa and temperature range of 3000–7000 K by means of a two-stage light-gas gun. Multishock reverberations between the base-plate and sapphire window can be observed up to the fifth-shock compressions. The experimental data are in good agreement with self-consistent fluid variational theory calculations in which the dissociation process of hydrogen molecules and various interactions among atomic and molecular species are taken into account. The dissociation, pressure, and internal energy of dense fluid oxygen at high temperatures and densities have been calculated from the free-energy functions using the self-consistent fluid variational theory. In this paper, we focused on a mixture of oxygen atoms and molecules, and investigated the phenomenon of pressure dissociation at finite temperature. The single-shock Hugoniot derived from this equation of state agrees well with gas-gun experiments for pressure versus density. The equation of state and dissociation degree are predicted in the ranges of temperature of 5000–16 000 K and density of 0.1–4.5 g/cm3. OBJECTIVE: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the main form of lung cancer, leading to major causes of cancer mortality. It is well known that lncRNAs may be involved in the pathogenesis of cancer, including NSCLC. The aim of this study was to provide a novel therapeutic target of LINC00342 for the therapy of NSCLC. PATIENTS AND METHODS: The expression of LINC00342 and miR-203a-3p was detected by quantitative Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRT-PCR). Cell proliferation was measured using the MTT assay. Colony formation analysis was performed to count the number of colonies. Cell migration and invasion were measured by transwell. Online software DIANA tools were used to predict binding sites of LINC00342 and miR-203a-3p. Luciferase reporter assay was conducted to confirm the interaction between LINC00342 and miR-203a-3p. RESULTS: The expression of LINC00342 was increased in NSCLC tissues and cells compared with normal tissues and cells. Knockdown of LINC00342 suppressed cell proliferation, colony formation, migration, and invasion. LINC00342 regulated the expression of miR-203a-3p by targeting it directly. MiR-203a-3p was down-regulated in NSCLC tissues and cells compared with normal tissues and cells. Furthermore, LINC00342 promoted NSCLC cells proliferation, colony formation, migration, and invasion by depleting the expression of miR-203a-3p. CONCLUSIONS: This work implied that LINC00342 functions in NSCLC acting as an oncogene. Briefly, LINC00342 contributes to NSCLC cells growth and metastasis via targeting miR-203a-3p competitively. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to explore the characteristics of long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) NR027113 in gastric carcinoma, and to further investigate whether it could promote the development of gastric carcinoma via epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) signaling pathway. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Quantitative Real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was performed to analyze the expression of NR027113 in 68 paired of gastric carcinoma and para-carcinoma tissues. Subsequently, the relationship between NR027113 expression and clinical indexes of gastric carcinoma as well as the prognosis of patients was analyzed. NR027113 expression in gastric carcinoma cells was detected by qRT-PCR as well. NR027113 knockdown model was constructed by lentivirus transfection in gastric carcinoma cells (including AGS and SGC-7901). Meanwhile, the effects of NR027113 on the biological functions of gastric carcinoma cells were analyzed by cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8), wound healing, transwell invasion and migration assay, respectively. Furthermore, the correlation between NR027113 and EMT signaling pathways was studied. RESULTS: QRT-PCR results showed that the expression level of NR027113 in gastric carcinoma tissues was significantly higher than that of para-carcinoma tissues. Compared with patients with low expression of NR027113, the incidence of lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis was significantly higher in patients with high NR027113 expression. Meanwhile, the survival rate of patients with low NR027113 expression was significantly lower. Compared with control group, the invasion and migration abilities of cells in NR027113 knockdown group were significantly decreased. Subsequent qRT-PCR results demonstrated that the expression of EMT signaling pathway-related proteins was significantly changed after transfection of sh-NR027113. The above finding indicated that NR027113 could inhibit the malignant progression of gastric carcinoma. Moreover, the addition of transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) cytokines synergistically promoted the malignant progression of gastric carcinoma with NR027113. CONCLUSIONS: NR027113 expression was significantly increased in gastric carcinoma. Meanwhile, it was positively correlated with lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis and poor prognosis of gastric carcinoma patients. In recent years, researchers have developed a number of new types of zero-valent nano-Fe remediation materials applied in the remediation of contaminated soil and water, which has attracted wide attentions. This paper selected soil leaching wastewater severely contaminated by chromium as target of the study and chose zero-valent nano-Fe, and for comparison experiments to study the effects on removing under experimental conditions of different pH values, dosages and reaction times. As is shown in the experiments, zero-valent nano-Fe has the highest removal rates for , while the reaction of is the slowest under the same conditions. However, both removal rates are prone to be stable after 10 min. Dosages do not make a distinct difference and the pH value has the least effect on the repair of zero-valent nano-Fe.
