At present, it is a common phenomenon in colleges and universities all over the world to carry out innovation and entrepreneurship education. This article takes the graduate students of tourism management major as the research object, and explores the theory and practice of cultivating the innovative entrepreneurship consciousness of tourism management graduate students in colleges and universities through the method of literature and questionnaire. The purpose of the study is to put forward some opinions and suggestions on the innovative entrepreneurship education of graduate students in tourism management.

Aim/purpose – Cultural differences play an influential role in driving tourism development and varying outcomes of technology acceptance. The impact of ChatGPT on tourism is yet to be explored. Therefore, this study discussed how ChatGPT may influence tourism development and management in different cultural contexts.

The release of treated wastewater from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in Japan has sparked concerns and controversy over the potential risks associated with nuclear-affected destinations. This study uses grounded theory to elucidate the broader definition of nuclear and radiation crises, while comprehensively analysing potential tourists' decision-making processes in the face of such risks. Focus groups and interviews were conducted in Asia with participants from various countries, revealing how potential tourists receive, process, and perceive risk information cues, make decisions, and adopt behavioural responses. This research contributes to the existing literature in an interdisciplinary manner, providing insights and recommendations for stakeholders involved in tourism and risk management. The interior design of hospitality settings is crucial for distinguishing a brand from its competitors. Drawing on color marketing and brand personality theories, this paper posits that aligning interior color tones with the brand personality of the hospitality and tourism brand can heighten tourists' perceptual fluency and thus their brand evaluation. Three studies support this proposition. The initial archival data analysis discovered a correlation between cold – warm interior tones and sincere – exciting brand personality in real-world hotel interior designs (Study 1). Study 2 revealed that cold tones evoke brand perceptions of sincerity, whereas warm tones elicit brand perceptions of excitement. Study 3 confirmed the effects of matching cold – warm tones with brand personality on brand evaluations and the mediating role of perceived fluency. The present research holds significant practical implications for hospitality and tourism suppliers in terms of interior design, brand personality identification, online platform promotional design, and brand marketing strategy development. Blind boxes have swiftly emerged as a prominent marketing strategy in tourism. Based on information gap theory, this research aims to explore how to optimize marketing effectiveness through varying levels of information gap. Findings show that a moderate-level information gap triggers stronger impulsive purchase intention than a high-level information gap, with curiosity and anxiety perception mediating the effect. Moreover, consumers with a low-risk propensity are particularly sensitive to the impact of the information gap level. Accurate precipitation forecasting is challenging, especially on the sub-seasonal to seasonal scale (14–90 days) which mandates the bias correction. Quantile mapping (QM) has been employed as a universal method of precipitation bias correction as it is effective in correcting the distribution attributes of mean and variance, but neglects the correlation between the model and observation data and has computing inefficiency in large-scale applications. In this study, a quantile mapping of matching precipitation threshold by time series (MPTT-QM) method was proposed to tackle these problems. The MPTT-QM method was applied to correct the FGOALS precipitation forecasts on the 14-day to 90-day lead times for the Pearl River Basin (PRB), taking the IMERG-final product as the observation. MPTT-QM was justified by comparing it with the original QM method in terms of precipitation accumulation and hydrological simulations. The results show that MPTT-QM not only improves the spatial distribution of precipitation but also effectively preserves the temporal change, with a better precipitation detection ability. Moreover, the MPTT-QM-corrected hydrological modeling has better performance in runoff simulations than the QM-corrected modeling, with significantly increased KGE metrics ranging from 0.050 to 0.693.
