Supramolecular polymers are typical self-assemblies, in which repeating monomer units are bonded together with dynamic and reversible noncovalent interactions. Supramolecular polymers can combine the advantages of polymer science and supramolecular chemistry. Aggregation-induced emission (AIE) means that a molecule remains faintly emissive in the dispersed state but intensively luminescent in a highly aggregated state. AIE has brought new opportunities and further development potential to the field of polymeric chemistry. The integration of AIE luminogens with supramolecular interactions can provide new vitality for supramolecular polymers. Therefore, it is essential for scientists to understand the preparation and applications of AIE-active supramolecular polymers. This review focuses on the recent advanced progress in the preparation of AIE-active supramolecular polymers. In addition, we summarize the newly developed supramolecular polymers with an AIE nature and their applications in chemical sensing, and in vitro and in vivo imaging, as well as the visualization of their structure and properties. WUSCHEL-related homeobox (WOX) proteins are plant-specific transcription factors that are profoundly involved in regulation of plant development and stress responses. In this study, we totally identified 11 WOX transcription factor family members in cucumber (Cucumis sativus, CsWOX) genome and classified them into three clades with nine subclades based on phylogenetic analysis results. Alignment of amino acid sequences revealed that all WOX members in cucumber contained the typical homeodomain, which consists of 60-66 amino acids and is folded into a helix-turn-helix structure. Gene duplication event analysis indicated that CsWOX1a and CsWOX1b were a segment duplication pair, which might affect the number of WOX members in cucumber genome. The expression profiles of CsWOX genes in different tissues demonstrated that the members sorted into the ancient clade (CsWOX13a and CsWOX13b) were constitutively expressed at higher levels in comparison to the others. Cis-element analysis in promoter regions suggested that the expression of CsWOX genes was associated with phytohormone pathways and stress responses, which was further supported by RNA-seq data. Taken together, our results provide new insights into the evolution of cucumber WOX genes and improve our understanding about the biological functions of the CsWOX gene family. Les proteines WOX (<< WUSCHEL-related homeobox >>) sont des facteurs de transcription uniques aux plantes qui sont tres impliques dans la regulation du developpement et les reponses aux stress. Dans ce travail, les auteurs identifient 11 membres de la famille de facteurs de transcription WOX au sein du genome du concombre (Cucumis sativus, CsWOX) et les classifient en trois clades et neuf sous-clades au terme d'analyses phylogenetiques. L'alignement des sequences d'acides amines a revele que tous les membres de la famille WOX chez le concombre contiennent une boite homeotique typique, laquelle compte entre 60 et 66 acides amines et presente une structure helice-coude-helice. Une analyse des duplications a indique que CsWOX1a et CsWOX1b forment une paire dupliquee, ce qui pourrait affecter le nombre de membres de cette famille au sein du genome du concombre. Les profils d'expression des genes CsWOX dans differents tissus a montre que les membres appartenant au clade ancestral (CsWOX13a et CsWOX13b) etaient exprimes de maniere constitutive et plus fortement que les autres. Une analyse des elements en cis au sein des promoteurs a suggere que l'expression des genes CsWOX etait associee avec les sentiers des phytohormones et de reponse aux stress, une conclusion qui etait egalement supportee par les donnees RNA-seq. Ensemble, ces resultats jettent un eclairage sur l'evolution des genes WOX chez le concombre et accroissent notre comprehension des fonctions biologiques de la famille des genes CsWOX.
