A bilayer photothermal paper-based 3D cone flowing evaporator with high solar light absorption, low water evaporation enthalpy and excellent salt-rejecting performance is fabricated using multilayered MXene, ultralong hydroxyapatite nanowires, and hydrophilic polymers. The 3D cone flowing evaporator cooperates with a siphon effect-driven unidirectional fluid transportation unit to guide concentrated saline flows out from the evaporating surface, leading to high water evaporation rate and salt-rejecting stable seawater desalination performance. Solar energy-driven water evaporation technology is a promising, low-cost and sustainable approach to alleviate the global clean water shortage, but usually suffers from low water evaporation rate and severe salt deposition on the water evaporation surface. In this work, a hydrophilic bilayer photothermal paper-based three-dimensional (3D) cone flowing evaporator was designed and prepared for stable high-performance seawater desalination with excellent salt-rejecting ability. The as-prepared bilayer photothermal paper consisted of MXene (Ti 3 C 2 T x) and HAA (ultralong hydroxyapatite nanowires, poly(acrylic acid), and poly(acrylic acid-2-hydroxyethyl ester)). The accordion-like multilayered MXene acted as the efficient solar light absorber, and ultralong hydroxyapatite (HAP) nanowires served as the thermally insulating and supporting skeleton with a porous networked structure. A siphon effect-driven unidirectional fluid transportation unit in the 3D cone flowing evaporator could guide the concentrated saline flowing away from the evaporating surface to prevent salt deposition on the evaporation surface, avoiding severe deterioration of the performance in solar water evaporation. Furthermore, combining high solar light absorption and high photothermal conversion efficiencies, low water evaporation enthalpy (1838 ± 11 J g−1), and additional energy taken from the ambient environment, the as-prepared cone flowing evaporator exhibited a high water evaporation rate of 3.22 ± 0.20 kg m−2 h−1 for real seawater under one sun illumination (1 kW m−2), which was significantly higher than many values reported in the literature. This study provides an effective approach for designing high-performance solar energy-driven water evaporators for sustainable seawater desalination and wastewater purification. Ultralong nanowires with ultrahigh aspect ratios exhibit high flexibility, and they are promising for applications in various fields. Herein, a cadmium oleate precursor hydrothermal method is developed for the synthesis of ultralong nanowires of cadmium phosphate hydroxide. In this method, water-soluble cadmium salt is used as the cadmium source, water-soluble phosphate is used as the phosphorus source, and sodium oleate is adopted as a reactant to form cadmium oleate precursor and as a structure-directing agent. By using this method, ultralong nanowires of cadmium phosphate hydroxide are successfully synthesized using CdCl2, sodium oleate, and NaH2PO4 as reactants in an aqueous solution by hydrothermal treatment at 180 °C for 24 h. In addition, a new type of flexible fire-resistant inorganic paper with good electrical insulation performance is fabricated using ultralong nanowires of cadmium phosphate hydroxide. As an example of the extended application of this synthetic method, ultralong nanowires of cadmium phosphate hydroxide can be converted to ultralong CdS nanowires through a convenient sulfidation reaction. In this way, ultralong CdS nanowires are successfully synthesized by simple sulfidation of ultralong nanowires of cadmium phosphate hydroxide under mild conditions. The as-prepared ultralong nanowires of cadmium phosphate hydroxide are promising for applications as the precursors and templates for synthesizing other inorganic ultralong nanowires and have wide applications in various fields. As a highly biocompatible material, hydroxyapatite (HAP) has been used extensively in various fields. Ultralong HAP nanowires with ultrahigh aspect ratios possess prominent merits such as good flexibility, high biocompatibility, excellent mechanical properties, high thermal stability, and excellent fire resistance. Consequently, ultralong HAP nanowires are promising for applications in various fields. However, the large-scale, low-cost and environmentally friendly synthesis of ultralong HAP nanowires remains a great challenge. In this work, we have developed a scalable, low-cost and green method for the synthesis of ultralong HAP nanowires using peanut oil as one of the main reaction reagents. The effects of experimental parameters on the morphology of ultralong HAP nanowires are studied, including the amounts of peanut oil, sodium hydroxide and methanol, and the molar ratio of Ca/P. The synthetic formulation for preparing ultralong HAP nanowires has been optimized by varying the experimental conditions. Importantly, compared with a previously reported calcium oleate precursor solvothermal method using oleic acid, the synthetic method using peanut oil reported herein can significantly reduce the production cost for the synthesis of ultralong HAP nanowires. It is encouraging that peanut oil is an eco-friendly, inexpensive, and sustainable food; thus, the production cost for ultralong HAP nanowires can be significantly reduced. Moreover, the synthetic strategy reported herein can be scaled up for large-scale, green and low-cost production of ultralong HAP nanowires. This novel synthetic method is promising for future industry-scale production of ultralong HAP nanowires. Furthermore, based on ultralong HAP nanowires, fire-resistant inorganic paper has been prepared by a simple vacuum-assisted filtration method. The ultralong HAP nanowire-based fire-resistant inorganic paper exhibits advantages such as high flexibility, high whiteness without bleaching, nonflammability, and excellent high-temperature resistance, which are promising for applications in various fields. Instruction: Several factors affect the in-stent intimal healing process after drug-eluting stents (DESs) implantation. We hope to investigate the influence of plaque characteristics on subsequent heterogeneous neointimal hyperplasia (NIH) using optical coherence tomography (OCT).Methods: The study population consisted 217 patients with single-vessel de novo lesions who underwent both pre-procedural OCT scan and 12-month follow-up OCT examination. NIH is defined as at least five consecutive cross-sectional images with no less than 100µm neointimal thickness. According to OCT follow-up, patients were divided into three groups: neointima-covered group, homogeneous, and heterogeneous NIH group.Results: 102 patients were categorized in neointima-covered group, 91 and 24 patients in homogeneous and heterogeneous group, respectively. Time interval between OCT scans was similar (P = 0.55). No significant differences in the patients' age, gender, comorbidities, laboratory findings, procedural, and lesion-related findings were found among these three groups. Heterogeneous group tended to have more subjects presented as acute coronary syndrome (ACS) (P = 0.04) and mean macrophage grade was higher in this group (P = 0.01). While no statistically significant difference concerning mean intimal thickness (P = 0.21) or neointimal burden (P = 0.73) was found between homogeneous and heterogeneous group. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that mean macrophage grade (OR: 2.26, 95%CI: 1.12 to 4.53, P = 0.02) and initial clinical presentation of ACS (OR: 2.81, 95%CI: 1.03 to 7.72, P = 0.04) were significant independent risk factors for heterogeneous NIH.Conclusion: Mean macrophage grade measured by OCT as a semi-quantitative morphological risk factor, as well as clinical presentation of ACS, was associated with in-stent neointimal heterogeneity after DES implantation. With the increasing popularity of modern electronic devices in the fifth-generation (5G) era, high-performance and high-safety electrically insulating materials with good mechanical flexibility and strength, high thermal stability and fire resistance are urgently needed. Herein, we report a highly flexible, thermally stable, and fire-retardant nanocomposite paper with high dielectric breakdown strength and mechanical strength by synergistically integrating one-dimensional ultralong hydroxyapatite (HAP) nanowires and aramid nanofibers (ANFs) through the vacuum-assisted filtration process. The as-prepared HAP/ANF nanocomposite paper has a nanowire/nanofiber networked framework and a layered structure, and exhibits high tensile strength (73.5 MPa), fracture strain (7.4 %), folding durability (1396 times under a loading weight of 9.8 N), excellent flexibility, and good processibility. Notably, the HAP/ANF nanocomposite paper has a superior dielectric breakdown strength (92.4 kV mm−1), high thermal stability and flame retardancy in comparison with the commercial Nomex T410 electrical insulation paper. The multifunctional HAP/ANF nanocomposite paper is promising for applications in miniaturized and flexible electronic devices, high-voltage electrical insulation equipments, and fire-retardant and high-temperature fields. Water pollution and freshwater shortage have deteriorated the global water crisis. Developing sustainable methods to alleviate contaminated water has become an urgent affair. Herein, inspired by water transportation and transpiration of natural trees, the authors report an ultralong hydroxyapatite nanowires‐based biomimetic aerogel with vertically aligned channels and multiple functions for continuous flow catalysis, water disinfection, solar energy‐driven water purification, and seawater desalination. Ultralong hydroxyapatite nanowires act as carriers to immobilize catalyst nanoparticles and serve as building blocks to assemble with chitosan to form the biomimetic aerogel with structure‐function integration. Benefiting from the interconnected cellular structure, unidirectional aligned channels, nanowire‐interwoven networked pore wall, and evenly distributed catalyst nanoparticles, the biomimetic aerogel exhibits high catalytic activity (97.6% treatment efficiency) and permeability (1786 L m−2 h−1), excellent recyclability and stability in continuous flow catalytic degradation of methylene blue solely driven by gravity. The biomimetic aerogel exhibits excellent performance for bacteria removal and anti‐biofouling. The superior photothermal conversion and heat confinement properties enable the biomimetic aerogel with a high efficiency (86.7%) for solar energy‐driven seawater desalination and wastewater purification under one sun irradiation.
