The irregular satellites of Jupiter produce dust particles through the impact of interplanetary micrometeoroids. In this paper, the dynamics of these particles is studied by both high-accuracy numerical simulation and analytical theory, in order to learn their transport, final fate, and spatial distribution. The perturbation forces that are considered in our dynamical model include the solar radiation pressure, solar gravity, Poynting-Robertson drag, Jovian oblateness, and the Galilean satellites' gravity. The trajectories of different size particles are simulated until they hit Jupiter, the Galilean satellites, or escape from the Jovian system. The average dynamical lifetimes of dust with different grain sizes are calculated, and the final fate of dust particles is reported and analysed. The steady-state spatial number density of particles is estimated by integrating the trajectories of dust particles over their initial size distribution, and compared to the previous work. The impact sites of dust on Callisto's surface are recorded and provide an important clue for the study of the hemisphere asymmetry of Callisto. Besides, the mass accretion rate, cross-sectional area influx, and mass influx density of dust on Callisto are calculated. A ring outside the orbit of Callisto dominated by dust between 2 and 25 ${\mu}$m from Jupiter's irregular satellites is suggested, with the average normal geometric optical depth of the order of $10^{-8}$ and the configuration of the ring ansae similar to Jupiter's gossamer rings., Comment: 11 pages, 14 figures

The task of deducing three-dimensional molecular configurations from their two-dimensional graph representations holds paramount importance in the fields of computational chemistry and pharmaceutical development. The rapid advancement of machine learning, particularly within the domain of deep generative networks, has revolutionized the precision of predictive modeling in this context. Traditional approaches often adopt a two-step strategy: initially estimating interatomic distances and subsequently refining the spatial molecular structure by solving a distance geometry problem. However, this sequential approach occasionally falls short in accurately capturing the intricacies of local atomic arrangements, thereby compromising the fidelity of the resulting structural models. Addressing these limitations, this research introduces a cutting-edge generative framework named \method{}. This framework is grounded in the principles of diffusion observed in classical non-equilibrium thermodynamics. \method{} views atoms as discrete entities and excels in guiding the reversal of diffusion, transforming a distribution of stochastic noise back into coherent molecular structures through a process akin to a Markov chain. This transformation commences with the initial representation of a molecular graph in an abstract latent space, culminating in the realization of three-dimensional structures via a sophisticated bilevel optimization scheme meticulously tailored to meet the specific requirements of the task. One of the formidable challenges in this modeling endeavor involves preserving roto-translational invariance to ensure that the generated molecular conformations adhere to the laws of physics. Despite the remarkable accomplishments of graph neural networks (GNNs), they typically rely on task-specific labels, posing potential challenges in terms of their acquisition. Existing work have been made to address this issue through the lens of unsupervised domain adaptation, wherein labeled source graphs are utilized to enhance the learning process for target data. However, the simultaneous exploration of graph topology and reduction of domain disparities remains a substantial hurdle. In this paper, we introduce the Dual Adversarial Graph Representation Learning (DAGRL), which explore the graph topology from dual branches and mitigate domain discrepancies via dual adversarial learning. Our method encompasses a dual-pronged structure, consisting of a graph convolutional network branch and a graph kernel branch, which enables us to capture graph semantics from both implicit and explicit perspectives. Moreover, our approach incorporates adaptive perturbations into the dual branches, which align the source and target distribution to address domain discrepancies. Extensive experiments on a wild range graph classification datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method.

The integration of Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs) and Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) is gradually attracting attention due to the low power consumption and high efficiency in processing the non-Euclidean data represented by graphs. However, as a common problem, dynamic graph representation learning faces challenges such as high complexity and large memory overheads. Current work often uses SNNs instead of Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) by using binary features instead of continuous ones for efficient training, which would overlooks graph structure information and leads to the loss of details during propagation. Additionally, optimizing dynamic spiking models typically requires propagation of information across time steps, which increases memory requirements. To address these challenges, we present a framework named \underline{Dy}namic \underline{S}p\underline{i}king \underline{G}raph \underline{N}eural Networks (\method{}). To mitigate the information loss problem, \method{} propagates early-layer information directly to the last layer for information compensation. To accommodate the memory requirements, we apply the implicit differentiation on the equilibrium state, which does not rely on the exact reverse of the forward computation. While traditional implicit differentiation methods are usually used for static situations, \method{} extends it to the dynamic graph setting. Extensive experiments on three large-scale real-world dynamic graph datasets validate the effectiveness of \method{} on dynamic node classification tasks with lower computational costs.

Open-source code is pervasive. In this setting, embedded vulnerabilities are spreading to downstream software at an alarming rate. While such vulnerabilities are generally identified and addressed rapidly, inconsistent maintenance policies may lead security patches to go unnoticed. Indeed, security patches can be {\em silent}, i.e., they do not always come with comprehensive advisories such as CVEs. This lack of transparency leaves users oblivious to available security updates, providing ample opportunity for attackers to exploit unpatched vulnerabilities. Consequently, identifying silent security patches just in time when they are released is essential for preventing n-day attacks, and for ensuring robust and secure maintenance practices. With LLMDA we propose to (1) leverage large language models (LLMs) to augment patch information with generated code change explanations, (2) design a representation learning approach that explores code-text alignment methodologies for feature combination, (3) implement a label-wise training with labelled instructions for guiding the embedding based on security relevance, and (4) rely on a probabilistic batch contrastive learning mechanism for building a high-precision identifier of security patches. We evaluate LLMDA on the PatchDB and SPI-DB literature datasets and show that our approach substantially improves over the state-of-the-art, notably GraphSPD by 20% in terms of F-Measure on the SPI-DB benchmark.

In recent years, patch representation learning has emerged as a necessary research direction for exploiting the capabilities of machine learning in software generation. These representations have driven significant performance enhancements across a variety of tasks involving code changes. While the progress is undeniable, a common limitation among existing models is their specialization: they predominantly excel in either predictive tasks, such as security patch classification, or in generative tasks such as patch description generation. This dichotomy is further exacerbated by a prevalent dependency on potentially noisy data sources. Specifically, many models utilize patches integrated with Abstract Syntax Trees (AST) that, unfortunately, may contain parsing inaccuracies, thus acting as a suboptimal source of supervision. In response to these challenges, we introduce PATCH-CLIP, a novel pre-training framework for patches and natural language text. PATCH-CLIP deploys a triple-loss training strategy for 1) patch-description contrastive learning, which enables to separate patches and descriptions in the embedding space, 2) patch-description matching, which ensures that each patch is associated to its description in the embedding space, and 3) patch-description generation, which ensures that the patch embedding is effective for generation. These losses are implemented for joint learning to achieve good performance in both predictive and generative tasks involving patches. Autoregressive models based on Transformers have become the prevailing approach for generating music compositions that exhibit comprehensive musical structure. These models are typically trained by minimizing the negative log-likelihood (NLL) of the observed sequence in an autoregressive manner. However, when generating long sequences, the quality of samples from these models tends to significantly deteriorate due to exposure bias. To address this issue, we leverage classifiers trained to differentiate between real and sampled sequences to identify these failures. This observation motivates our exploration of adversarial losses as a complement to the NLL objective. We employ a pre-trained Span-BERT model as the discriminator in the Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) framework, which enhances training stability in our experiments. To optimize discrete sequences within the GAN framework, we utilize the Gumbel-Softmax trick to obtain a differentiable approximation of the sampling process. Additionally, we partition the sequences into smaller chunks to ensure that memory constraints are met. Patch representation is crucial in automating various software engineering tasks, like determining patch accuracy or summarizing code changes. While recent research has employed deep learning for patch representation, focusing on token sequences or Abstract Syntax Trees (ASTs), they often miss the change's semantic intent and the context of modified lines. To bridge this gap, we introduce a novel method, Patcherizer. It delves into the intentions of context and structure, merging the surrounding code context with two innovative representations. These capture the intention in code changes and the intention in AST structural modifications pre and post-patch. This holistic representation aptly captures a patch's underlying intentions. Patcherizer employs graph convolutional neural networks for structural intention graph representation and transformers for intention sequence representation. We evaluated Patcherizer's embeddings' versatility in three areas: (1) Patch description generation, (2) Patch accuracy prediction, and (3) Patch intention identification. Our experiments demonstrate the representation's efficacy across all tasks, outperforming state-of-the-art methods. For example, in patch description generation, Patcherizer excels, showing an average boost of 19.39% in BLEU, 8.71% in ROUGE-L, and 34.03% in METEOR scores.

Within the realm of advanced code retrieval, existing methods have primarily relied on intricate matching and attention-based mechanisms. However, these methods often lead to computational and memory inefficiencies, posing a significant challenge to their real-world applicability. To tackle this challenge, we propose a novel approach, the Hyperbolic Code QA Matching (HyCoQA). This approach leverages the unique properties of Hyperbolic space to express connections between code fragments and their corresponding queries, thereby obviating the necessity for intricate interaction layers. The process commences with a reimagining of the code retrieval challenge, framed within a question-answering (QA) matching framework, constructing a dataset with triple matches characterized as \texttt{<}negative code, description, positive code\texttt{>}. These matches are subsequently processed via a static BERT embedding layer, yielding initial embeddings. Thereafter, a hyperbolic embedder transforms these representations into hyperbolic space, calculating distances between the codes and descriptions. The process concludes by implementing a scoring layer on these distances and leveraging hinge loss for model training. Especially, the design of HyCoQA inherently facilitates self-organization, allowing for the automatic detection of embedded hierarchical patterns during the learning phase. Experimentally, HyCoQA showcases remarkable effectiveness in our evaluations: an average performance improvement of 3.5\% to 4\% compared to state-of-the-art code retrieval techniques.

The growth of open-source software has increased the risk of hidden vulnerabilities that can affect downstream software applications. This concern is further exacerbated by software vendors' practice of silently releasing security patches without explicit warnings or common vulnerability and exposure (CVE) notifications. This lack of transparency leaves users unaware of potential security threats, giving attackers an opportunity to take advantage of these vulnerabilities. In the complex landscape of software patches, grasping the nuanced semantics of a patch is vital for ensuring secure software maintenance. To address this challenge, we introduce a multilevel Semantic Embedder for security patch detection, termed MultiSEM. This model harnesses word-centric vectors at a fine-grained level, emphasizing the significance of individual words, while the coarse-grained layer adopts entire code lines for vector representation, capturing the essence and interrelation of added or removed lines. We further enrich this representation by assimilating patch descriptions to obtain a holistic semantic portrait. This combination of multi-layered embeddings offers a robust representation, balancing word complexity, understanding code-line insights, and patch descriptions. Evaluating MultiSEM for detecting patch security, our results demonstrate its superiority, outperforming state-of-the-art models with promising margins: a 22.46\% improvement on PatchDB and a 9.21\% on SPI-DB in terms of the F1 metric.
