22. Zero-Dimensional Copper(I) Halide Microcrystals as Highly Efficient Scintillators for Flexible X-ray Imaging

Abstract

Commercially available rare-earth-doped inorganic oxide materials have been widely applied as X-ray scintillators, but the fragile characteristics, high detection limit, and harsh preparation condition seriously restrict their wide applications. Furthermore, it remains a huge challenge to realize X-ray flexible imaging technology for real-time monitoring of the curving interface of complex devices. To address these issues, we herein report two isostructural cuprous halides of zero-dimensional (0D) [AEPipz]CuX3·X·H2O (AEPipz = N-aminoethylpiperazine, X = Br and I) with controllable size to nanosize crystal as highly efficient scintillators toward flexible X-ray imaging. These cuprous halides exhibit highly efficient cyan photoluminescence and radioluminescence emissions with the highest quantum yield of 92.1% and light yield of 62,400 photons MeV–1, respectively, surpassing most of the commercially available inorganic scintillators. Meanwhile, the ultralow detection limit of 95.7 nGyairs–1was far below the X-ray dose required for diagnosis (5.5 μGyairs–1). More significantly, the flexible film is facilely assembled with excellent foldability and high crack resistance, which further acts as a scintillation screen achieving a high spatial resolution of 17.4 lp mm–1in X-ray imaging, demonstrating the potential application in wearable radiation radiography. The combined advantages of high light yield, low detection limit, and excellent flexibility promote these 0D cuprous halides as the most promising X-ray scintillators.

Abstract

We established myocardial injury models in vivo and in vitro to investigate the cardioprotective effect of gomisin D obtained from Schisandra chinensis. Gomisin D significantly inhibited isoproterenol-induced apoptosis and hypertrophy in H9C2 cells. Gomisin D decreased serum BNP, ANP, CK-MB, cTn-T levels and histopathological alterations, and inhibited myocardial hypertrophy in mice. In mechanisms research, gomisin D reversed ISO-induced accumulation of intracellular ROS and Ca2+. Gomisin D further improved mitochondrial energy metabolism disorders by regulating the TCA cycle. These results demonstrated that gomisin D had a significant effect on isoproterenol-induced myocardial injury by inhibiting oxidative stress, calcium overload and improving mitochondrial energy metabolism. The network pharmacology results showed that Astragaloside IV had 104 cross-targets with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, and the results of KEGG enrichment analysis indicated that cellular senescence could be an important pathway for Astragaloside IV in the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis. Astragaloside IV also bound well to senescence-associated proteins, according to molecular docking results. The results of both in vivo and in vitro experiments showed that Astragaloside IV significantly inhibited senescence protein markers such as P53, P21, and P16 and delayed cellular senescence (P < 0.05). In in vivo experiments, we also found that Astragaloside IV reduced the production of SASPs (P < 0.05), and in in vitro experiments, Astragaloside IV also reduced the production of ROS. In addition, by detecting epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)-related marker protein expression, we also found that Astragaloside IV significantly inhibited the development of EMT in both in vivo and in vitro experiments (P < 0.05).Conclusion: Our research found that Astragaloside IV could alleviate bleomycin-induced PF by preventing cellular senescence and EMT.Keywords: astragaloside IV, pulmonary fibrosis, network pharmacology, cellular senescence, epithelial-mesenchymal transition

30. Cutting performance and wear characteristics of Si3N4–SiCw–HfB2 ceramic cutting tools in turning of ductile cast iron.

Abstract

This research investigated the cutting performance of three different types of Si3N4‐based ceramic tools (Si3N4, Si3N4–SiCw, and Si3N4–SiCw–HfB2) with distinct mechanical properties during turning of ductile cast iron. Si3N4 ceramic tool, characterized by high hardness and low toughness, showed minor micro‐chipping and the highest average flank wear rate during the initial wear stage, leading to a short cutting life of 1679 m. Si3N4–SiCw ceramic tool, with low hardness and high toughness, exhibited the highest average flank wear rate during the middle and final wear stages, resulting a short cutting life (1602 m). In contrast, the Si3N4–SiCw–HfB2 ceramic tool, featuring high hardness and high toughness, demonstrated the lower average flank wear rate during all the wear stages, leading to a longest cutting life (2636 m). The results indicated that the average flank wear rate during the initial wear stage was mainly influenced by toughness, while during the middle and final wear stages, the average flank wear rate was primarily dependent on hardness. 41. Storage properties of 6,6,12-graphyne methane: a Monte Carlo and first-principles study.

Abstract

The CH4 adsorption performance of the Sc-modified 6,6,12-graphyne (Sc@6,6,12-GY) system has been investigated based on giant canonical Monte Carlo (GCMC) simulations and first-principles study. According to the GCMC simulation, the CH4 adsorption amount of Sc-modified 6,6,12-GY can reach 72.21 wt% at 233 K and 40 bar. The first-principles study reveals that the binding energy is maximum (−5.181 eV) when the Sc atom is modified in the central hole site of the rhombic acetylene ring of 6,6,12-GY, which exceeds the cohesive energy of the Sc atom (−3.9 eV). The Sc@6,6,12-GY can adsorb 42 CH4 molecules with an average adsorption energy of −0.178 eV and an adsorption capacity of 72.13 wt%, which exceeds the U.S. Department of Energy standard (50 wt%) and corroborates with the results obtained from the GCMC, verifying the accuracy of the results. The Sc atoms modulate the electronic structure of 6,6,12-graphene, and the Sc-modified 6,6,12-GY system is found to have good CH4 storage properties as a high-capacity CH4 storage material by analyzing the partial state of the density, charge transfer situation and charge differential density map of the substrate system.
