Vibration noise control is of great significance to submarines. Vibration and noise source analysis methods that are commonly used only analyze the sources of vibration and noise, but sources contributions of submarine equipments are not calculated quantitatively. The basic model of blind source separation (BSS) and an improved fixed-point algorithm based on independent component analysis (ICA) are introduced, and the performance of BSS is improved by means of clustering evaluation. A new method to calculate the source contributions quantitatively based on the improved algorithm and priori information is proposed. The performances of BSS methods based on different separation criteria are compared in the simulations, and the result of sources contributions is analyzed. The new method is applied in quantitative calculation of vibration source contributions of a scaled submarine model, and the comparative result shows that it has high calculation accuracy. The conclusions provide a reliable evidence for the active control of vibration noise.
