1. Self-induced light emission in solid-state memristors replicates neuronal biophotons

Abstract

Key pre-synaptic and post-synaptic biological functions have been successfully implemented in various hardware systems. A noticeable example are neuronal networks constructed from memristors, which are emulating complex electro-chemical biological dynamics such a neuron's efficacy and plasticity. Neurons are highly active cells, communicating with chemical and electrical stimuli, but also emit light. These photons are suspected to be a complementary vehicle to transport information across the brain. Here, we show that a memristor also releases photons akin to the production of neuronal light. Critical attributes of so-called biophotons such as self-generation, origin, stochasticity, spectral coverage, sparsity and correlation with the neuron's activity are replicated by our solid-state approach. Our findings further extend the emulating capability of a memristor to encompass neuronal biophoton emission and open the possibility to construct a bimodal electro-optical platform with the assistance of atomic-scale devices capable of handling electrons and photons as information carriers.

2. Overbias Light Emission From Memristive Nanojunctions

Abstract

A nanoscale dielectric gap clamped between two metal electrodes may undergo a large resistance change from insulating to highly conducting upon applying an electrical stress. This sudden resistive switching effect is largely exploited in memristors for emulating synapses in neuromorphic neural networks. Here, we show that resistive switching can be accompanied by a release of electromagnetic radiation spanning the visible spectral region. Importantly, we find that the spectrum is characterized by photon energies exceeding the maximum kinetic energy of electrons provided by the switching voltage. This so-called overbias emission can be described self-consistently by a thermal radiation model featuring an out-of-equilibrium electron distribution generated in the device with an effective temperature exceeding 2000~K. The emitted spectrum is understood in terms of hot electrons radiatively decaying to resonant optical modes occurring in a nanoscale \ch{SiO2} matrix located between two \ch{Ag} electrodes. The correlation between resistive switching and the onset of overbias emission in atomic-scale photonic memristor brings new venues to generate light on chip and their exploitation in optical interconnects. Photons emitted during memristive switching can also be monitored to follow the neural activation pathways in memristor-based networks.

The debate over the efficacy of systemic corticosteroids in treating these conditions persists, while tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha inhibitors show promise. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of combination therapy involving the TNF-α inhibitor adalimumab for SJS/TEN induced by anticancer drugs.Methods: A literature review of SJS/TEN cases induced by anticancer drugs from 1992 to 2023 was conducted, alongside an analysis of patients admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University during the same period. Clinical characteristics, skin healing time, mortality, and adverse events were evaluated in two treatment groups: SJS/TEN patients treated with targeted anticancer therapies and immunotherapies.Results: Among the 27 patients studied (18 with SJS or SJS-TEN overlapping and 9 with TEN), combination therapy with adalimumab significantly reduced mucocutaneous reepithelization time and healing duration compared to corticosteroid monotherapy. Patients receiving adalimumab combined with corticosteroids had lower actual mortality rates than those on corticosteroid monotherapy. The combination therapy also showed a trend towards reducing standardized mortality rates based on the Score of Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (SCORTEN).Conclusion: The findings suggest that adalimumab in combination with corticosteroids provides significant clinical benefits and is safer than corticosteroids alone for treating SJS/TEN induced by targeted anticancer therapies and immunotherapies. However, not all patients respond to this treatment. TACE typically leads to hypoxia in the tumor microenvironment. Therefore, we aimed to construct a prognostic model based on hypoxia-related differentially expressed microRNA (miRNAs) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and to investigate the potential target mRNAs for predicting TACE response.Methods: The hypoxia-related miRNAs (HRMs) were identified in liver cancer cells, then global test was performed to further select the miRNAs which were associated with recurrence and vascular invasion. A prognostic model was constructed based on multivariate Cox regression analysis; qRT-PCR analysis was used to validate the differentially expressed miRNAs in HCC cell lines under hypoxic condition. We further identified the putative target genes of the miRNAs and investigate the relationship between the target genes and TACE response, immune cells infiltration.Results: We established a HRMs prognostic model for HCC patients, containing two miRNAs (miR-638, miR-501-5p), the patients with high-HRMs score showed worse survival in discovery and validation cohort; qRT-PCR analysis confirmed that these two miRNAs are up-regulated in hepatoma cells under hypoxic condition. Furthermore, four putative target genes of these two miRNAs were identified (ADH1B, CTH, FTCD, RCL1), which were significantly associated with TACE response, immune score, immunosuppressive immune cells infiltration, PDCD1 and CTLA4.Conclusion: The HCC-HRMs signature may be utilized as a promising prognostic factor and may have implications for guiding TACE and immune therapy.Keywords: hypoxia, miRNA, signature, hepatocellular carcinoma, prognosis

5. A light-induced Weyl semiconductor-to-metal transition mediated by Peierls instability

Abstract

Elemental tellurium is a strongly spin-orbit coupled Peierls-distorted semiconductor whose band structure features topologically protected Weyl nodes. Using time-dependent density functional theory calculations, we show that impulsive optical excitation can be used to transiently control the amplitude of the Peierls distortion, realizing a mechanism to switch tellurium between three states: Weyl semiconductor, Weyl metal and non-Weyl metal. Further, we present experimental evidence of this inverse-Peierls distortion using time-resolved optical second harmonic generation measurements. These results provide a pathway to multifunctional ultrafast Weyl devices and introduce Peierls systems as viable hosts of light-induced topological transitions., Comment: 7 pages main text, 4 figures, 11 pages supplementary information

6. Crack growth during poling and polarisation reversal in commercial piezoceramics

Abstract

The growth of Vicker´s cracks during the poling of piezoelectric ceramics was studied for two PZT based compositions with different tetragonal distortion of the perovskite structure. Studies on the two compositions with different poling electric fields and similar initial crack lengths showed that crack growth was not proportional to the induced stress free longitudinal strain by 90º domain reorientation. This observation is not consistent with the previously proposed mechanism of crack growth based on a strain mismatch between the material at the crack flanks and the rest of the ceramic. This mismatch was proposed to occur because of the reduction of the electric field within the crack flanks. The reasons for the disappearance of the mismatch are discussed here, and an alternative mechanism of crack growth consistent with our results is proposed, which takes into account the electrically induced stress gradient at the crack tip, produced by the piezoelectric effect. Cracks were also found to grow during a small number of subsequent polarisation reversals, the explanation of which must be due to some other additional effect.Se ha estudiado el crecimiento de grietas Vicker durante la polarización de cerámicas piezoeléctricas para dos modificaciones del PZT con distinta distorsión tetragonal de la estructura perovskita. Los resultados en función del campo eléctrico de polarización y la longitud inicial de la grieta muestran que el crecimiento no es proporcional a la deformación libre de tensión inducida por orientación de dominios de 90º. Esta observación no es consistente con el mecanismo de crecimiento de grieta propuesto anteriormente, basado en el desajuste de deformación entre el material a los flancos de la grieta y el resto de la cerámica. Este desajuste se producía por la atenuación del campo eléctrico en los flancos de la grieta. Se discute la causa de la desaparición de este desajuste de deformación, y se propone un mecanismo alternativo de crecimiento de grieta consistente con los resultados obtenidos, que tiene en cuenta el gradiente de tensión en la punta producido por el efecto piezoeléctrico. También se ha observado crecimiento de la grieta durante un pequeño número de conmutaciones de la polarización realizadas a continuación del polarizado inicial, fenómeno que debe estar relacionado con algún otro efecto adicional.

Abstract

Nanoindentation techniques have been used to determine the mechanical properties of two well characterised Pb0.88La0.08TiO3 ferroelectric thin films which have been shown to be promising for MEMs applications. Aceramic with the same nominal composition and the substrate material were also tested as an aid in the interpretation of results. Test routines have been developed using the spherical indentation geometry to distinguish the elastic and permanent deformation of the materials. Mechanical data for different layers in the heterostructure could be determined by using indenters with different radii. The technique provides information on the elastic modulus of the film, the onset and nature of permanent deformation, film delamination and the effects of porosity and residual stress. These techniques open the possibility to characterise fully the mechanical response of a microdevice.Se han usado técnicas de nanoindentación para determinar las propiedades mecánicas de dos láminas delgadas ferroeléctricas de Pb0.88La0.08TiO3 bien caracterizadas y que se han considerado prometedoras para aplicaciones MEMs. También se han realizado medidas en una cerámica con la misma composición nominal y en el sustrato de las láminas como ayuda para la interpretación de los resultados. Se han desarrollado rutinas usando la geometría de indentación con esfera para distinguir las deformaciones elástica y permanente del material. Podría ser posible obtener parámetros mecánicos de las distintas capas de la heteroestructura lámina sustrato mediante el uso de indentadores con radio distinto. La técnica proporciona información sobre el modulo elástico de la lámina, el comienzo y la naturaleza de la deformación permanente, delaminación y el efecto de la porosidad y las tensiones residuales. Estas técnicas abren la posibilidad de caracterizar completamente la respuesta mecánica de un microdispositivo.

10. Glucocorticoids promote CCL20 expression in keratinocytes.

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Glucocorticoids (GCs) are generally envisioned as immunosuppressive, but in conditions such as rosacea and perioral dermatitis they can lead to increased skin inflammation. In lung epithelia, GCs promote expression of the proinflammatory cytokine CCL20, which contributes to steroid-resistant asthma. In the skin, CCL20 stimulates inflammation by recruiting T helper 17 T lymphocytes and dendritic cells, and is elevated in papulopustular rosacea. OBJECTIVES: To understand if, and how, GCs affect CCL20 expression in human keratinocytes. CCL20 expression was assessed by quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. METHODS: Selective inhibition of candidate genes and signalling pathways was performed using RNA interference and chemical inhibitors. The binding of activated GC receptor to genomic DNA was determined by chromatin immunoprecipitation, and enhancer activity of genomic sequences was measured with a reporter assay. RESULTS: We found that GC treatment increased CCL20 expression in human keratinocytes and murine skin, both in the undisturbed state and with tumour necrosis factor-α stimulation. GC repressed proinflammatory signalling pathways, including nuclear factor kappa B and p38/mitogen-activated protein kinase, but these inhibitory effects were opposed by the direct binding of activated GC receptor to the CCL20 enhancer, promoting CCL20 expression. CONCLUSIONS: Viewed together, these findings demonstrate a mechanism by which GCs induce expression of CCL20 in keratinocytes, which may contribute to the inflammation seen in steroid-exacerbated skin conditions.

Abstract

Icy mantles of benzonitrile, an aromatic with a cyanide side chain that has recently been detected in the interstellar medium, were subjected to vacuum ultraviolet photon irradiation and found to form a residue. The residue was removed from the substrate and placed on a Quantifoil grid for electron microscopy analysis. Transmission electron microscopy showed Quantum Dot (QD) and Nitrogen-doped Graphene (N-Graphene) sheets. Diffraction and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy revealed the crystalline nature and carbon-nitrogen composition, of the observed graphene sheet. This is the first result showing QD and N-Graphene synthesis in ice irradiation at interstellar temperatures., Comment: 10 pages, 3 figures

15. Calibration of a superconducting gravimeter with an absolute atom gravimeter

Abstract

We present a 27-days long common view measurement of an absolute cold atom gravimeter (CAG) and a relative iGrav superconducting gravimeter, which we use to calibrate the iGrav scale factor. This allowed us to push the CAG long-term stability down to the level of 0.5~nm.s$^{-2}$. We investigate the impact of the duration of the measurement on the uncertainty in the determination of the correlation factor and show that it is limited to about 3\textperthousand~by the coloured noise of our cold atom gravimeter. A 3-days long measurement session with an additional FG5X absolute gravimeter allows us to directly compare the calibration results obtained with two different absolute meters. Based on our analysis, we expect that with an improvement of its long term stability, the CAG will allow to calibrate the iGrav scale factor to better than the per mille level (1$\sigma$ level of confidence) after only one-day of concurrent measurements for maximum tidal amplitudes.

Abstract

SrRuO$_3$, a ferromagnet with an approximately 160\,K Curie temperature, exhibits a $T^2$ dependent dc resistivity below $\approx$ 30 K. Nevertheless, previous optical studies in the infrared and terahertz range show non-Drude dynamics at low temperatures which seem to contradict a Fermi-liquid picture with long-lived quasiparticles. In this work, we measure the low-frequency THz range response of thin films with residual resistivity ratios, $\rho_{300K}/ \rho_{4K} \approx$ 74. Such low disorder samples allow an unprecedented look at the effects of electron-electron interactions on low-frequency transport. At temperatures below 30 K, we found both a very sharp zero-frequency mode which has a width narrower than $k_BT/\hbar$ as well as a broader zero frequency Lorentzian that has at least an order of magnitude larger scattering rate. Both features have temperature dependencies consistent with a Fermi-liquid with the wider feature explicitly showing a T$^2$ scaling. Such two -Drude transport sheds light on previous reports of the violation of Mathielssen's rule and extreme sensitivity to disorder in metallic ruthenates. We consider a number of possibilities for the origin of the two feature optical conductivity including multiband effects that arise from momentum conserving interband scattering and the approximate conservation of a pseudo-momentum that arises from quasi-1D Fermi surfaces., Comment: main text 5 pages, 3 figures

20. Reinforcement Learning Based Orchestration for Elastic Services

Abstract

Due to the highly variable execution context in which edge services run, adapting their behavior to the execution context is crucial to comply with their requirements. However, adapting service behavior is a challenging task because it is hard to anticipate the execution contexts in which it will be deployed, as well as assessing the impact that each behavior change will produce. In order to provide this adaptation efficiently, we propose a Reinforcement Learning (RL) based Orchestration for Elastic Services. We implement and evaluate this approach by adapting an elastic service in different simulated execution contexts and comparing its performance to a Heuristics based approach. We show that elastic services achieve high precision and requirement satisfaction rates while creating an overhead of less than 0.5% to the overall service. Abstract

Due to the difficulty to grow high quality semiconductors on ferromagnetic metals, the study of spin diffusion transport in Si was only limited to lateral geometry devices. In this work, by using ultra-high vacuum wafer-bonding technique, we have successfully fabricated metal semiconductor metal CoFeB/MgO/Si/Pt vertical structures. We hereby demonstrate pure spin-current injection and transport in the perpendicular current flow geometry over a distance larger than 2\mu m in n-type Si at room temperature. In those experiments, a pure propagating spin-current is generated via ferromagnetic resonance spin-pumping and converted into a measurable voltage by using the inverse spin-Hall effect occurring in the top Pt layer. A systematic study by varying both Si and MgO thicknesses reveals the important role played by the localized states at the MgO/Si interface for the spin-current generation. Proximity effects involving indirect exchange interactions between the ferromagnet and the MgO/Si interface states appears to be a prerequisite to establish the necessary out-of-equilibrium spin-population in Si under the spin-pumping action.

Abstract

Confinement of electrons in graphene to make devices has proven to be a challenging task. Electrostatic methods fail because of Klein tunneling, while etching into nanoribbons requires extreme control of edge terminations, and bottom-up approaches are limited in size to a few nanometers. Fortunately, its mechanical flexibility raises the possibility of using strain to alter graphene's properties and create novel straintronic devices. Here, we report transport studies of nanowires created by linearly-shaped strained regions resulting from individual folds formed by layer transfer onto hexagonal boron nitride. Conductance measurements across the folds reveal Coulomb blockade signatures, indicating confined charges within these structures, which act as quantum dots. Along folds, we observe sharp features in traverse resistivity measurements, attributed to an amplification of the dot conductance modulations by a resistance bridge incorporating the device. Our data indicates ballistic transport up to ~1 um along the folds. Calculations using the Dirac model including strain are consistent with measured bound state energies and predict the existence of valley-polarized currents. Our results show that graphene folds can act as straintronic quantum wires.

Abstract

The recently discovered pressure-induced polymorphic transitions (PIPT) in high-entropy alloys (HEAs) have opened an avenue towards understanding the phase stability and achieving atomic structural tuning of HEAs. So far, whether there is any PIPT in the body-centered cubic (bcc) HEAs remains unclear. Here, we studied an ordered bcc-structured (B2 phase) AlCoCrFeNi HEA using in situ synchrotron radiation X-ray diffraction (XRD) up to 42 GPa and ex situ transmission electron microscopy, a PIPT to a likely-distorted phase was observed. These results highlight the effect of the lattice distortion on the stability of HEAs and extend the polymorphism into ordered bcc-structured HEAs.

27. Extremely reduced dielectric confinement in two-dimensional hybrid perovskites with large polar organics

Abstract

Two dimensional inorganic–organic hybrid perovskites (2D perovskites) suffer from not only quantum confinement, but also dielectric confinement, hindering their application perspective in devices involving the conversion of an optical input into current. In this report, we theoretically predict that an extremely low exciton binding energy can be achieved in 2D perovskites by using high dielectric-constant organic components. We demonstrate that in (HOCH2CH2NH3)2PbI4, whose organic material has a high dielectric constant of 37, the dielectric confinement is largely reduced, and the exciton binding energy is 20-times smaller than that in conventional 2D perovskites. As a result, the photo-induced excitons can be thermally dissociated efficiently at room temperature, as clearly indicated from femtosecond transient absorption measurements. In addition, the mobility is largely improved due to the strong screening effect on charge impurities. Such low dielectric-confined 2D perovskites show excellent carrier extraction efficiency, and outstanding humidity resistance compared to conventional 2D perovskites.

Abstract

Here we report the first evidence for a reversible phase change in an ethanethiol ice prepared under astrochemical conditions. InfraRed (IR) spectroscopy was used to monitor the morphology of the ice using the S-H stretching vibration, a characteristic vibration of thiol molecules. The deposited sample was able to switch between amorphous and crystalline phases repeatedly under temperature cycles between 10 K and 130 K with subsequent loss of molecules in every phase change. Such an effect is dependent upon the original thickness of the ice. Abstract

In this work, we use charge extraction via organic overlayer deposition to lower the chemical potential of topological insulator Bi2Se3 thin films into the intrinsic (bulk-insulating) regime. We demonstrate the tuning and stabilization of intrinsic topological insulators at high mobility with low-cost organic films. With the protection of the organic charge extraction layers tetrafluorotetracyanoquinodimethane(F4TCNQ) or tris(acetylacetonato)cobalt(III) (Co(acac)3), the sample is stable in the atmosphere with chemical potential ~135 meV above the Dirac point (85 meV below the conduction band minimum, well within the topological insulator regime) after four months, which is an extraordinary level of environmental stability. The Co complex represents the first use of an organometallic for modulating TI charge density. The mobility of surface state electrons is enhanced as high as ~2000 cm2/Vs. Abstract

Here we review the many aspects and distinct phenomena associated to quantum dynamics on general graph structures. For so, we discuss such class of systems under the energy domain Green's function ($G$) framework. This approach is particularly interesting because $G$ can be written as a sum over classical-like paths, where local quantum effects are taking into account through the scattering matrix amplitudes (basically, transmission and reflection amplitudes) defined on each one of the graph vertices. Hence, the {\em exact} $G$ has the functional form of a generalized semiclassical formula, which through different calculation techniques (addressed in details here) always can be cast into a closed analytic expression. It allows to solve exactly arbitrary large (although finite) graphs in a recursive and fast way. Using the Green's function method, we survey many properties for open and closed quantum graphs as scattering solutions for the former and eigenspectrum and eigenstates for the latter, also considering quasi-bound states. Concrete examples, like cube, binary trees and Sierpi\'{n}ski-like topologies are presented. Abstract

We present here an analysis of the influence of the frequency dependence of the Raman laser light shifts on the phase of a Raman-type atom gravimeter. Frequency chirps are applied to the Raman lasers in order to compensate gravity and ensure the resonance of the Raman pulses during the interferometer. We show that the change in the Raman light shift when this chirp is applied only to one of the two Raman lasers is enough to bias the gravity measurement by a fraction of $\mu$Gal ($1~\mu$Gal~=~$10^{-8}$~m/s$^2$). We also show that this effect is not compensated when averaging over the two directions of the Raman wavevector $k$. This thus constitutes a limit to the rejection efficiency of the $k$-reversal technique. Our analysis allows us to separate this effect from the effect of the finite speed of light, which we find in perfect agreement with expected values. This study highlights the benefit of chirping symmetrically the two Raman lasers.

Abstract

To rapidly and accurately determine the water requirement (WR) and crop coefficient (Kc) of drip irrigated flax (Linum usitatissimum L.), we conducted an insufficient surface drip irrigation experiment and determined critical growth stages for ensuring an optimal flax yield Combined with meteorological data and crop water requirement measurements, the potential evapotranspiration (ET0) of flax and actual Kc were calculated and compared with the Kc recommended by FAO Document 56. When flax was free from drought and at an optimal yield, the crop WR was 327.4 mm. The largest daily average WR intensity was the greatest in the budding--flowering period, in which a sufficient water supply is crucial. After modifying the Kc as recommended by the FAO, the Kc values were 0.21, 0.58, 0.85 and 0.44, in the intial, rapid, middle, and late growth stages, respectively. The Kc over the whole growth period was 0.59. When the flax irrigation quota of ground drip irrigation was 210 mm in the middle region of the Inner Mongolia agro-pastoral ecotone, China, the theoretical WR calculated by the single Kc method recommended by FAO 56 was 313.44 mm, 10% lower than the measured crop WR. Abstract

We show that the surface plasmons of a two-dimensional Dirac metal such as graphene can be reflected by linelike perturbations hosting one-dimensional electron states. The reflection originates from a strong enhancement of the local optical conductivity caused by optical transitions involving these bound states. We propose that the bound states can be systematically created, controlled, and liquidated by an ultranarrow electrostatic gate. Using infrared nanoimaging, we obtain experimental evidence for the locally enhanced conductivity of graphene induced by a carbon nanotube gate, which supports this theoretical concept.

Abstract

The occurrences of collective quantum states, such as superconductivity (SC) and charge- or spin-densitywaves (CDWs or SDWs), are among the most fascinating phenomena in solids. To date much effort has been made to explore the interplay between different orders, yet little is known about the relationship of multiple orders of the same type. Here we report optical spectroscopy study on CDWs in the rare-earth tri-telluride compounds RTe3 (R = rare earth elements). Besides the prior reported two CDW orders, the study reveals unexpectedly the presence of a third CDW order in the series which evolves systematically with the size of R element. With increased chemical pressure, the first and third CDW orders are both substantially suppressed and compete with the second one by depleting the low energy spectral weight. Abstract

We present the specific heat, magnetization, optical spectroscopy measurements and the firstprinciple calculations on the Weberite structure Ca2Os2O7 single crystal/polycrystalline sample. The Ca2Os2O7 shows a Curie-Weiss nature at high temperature and goes into a ferrimagnetic insulating state at 327 K on cooling. A \lambda-like peak is observed at 327 K in the specific heat implying a second-order phase transition. The vanishing electronic specific heat at low temperature suggests a full energy gap. At high temperature above the transition, small amount of itinerant carriers with short life time \tau are observed, which is gapped at 20 K with a direct gap of 0:24 eV . Our first principle calculations indicate that the anti-ferromagnetic (AFM) correlation with intermediate Coulomb repulsion U could effectively split Os(4b) t2g bands and push them away from Fermi level(EF). On the other hand, a non-collinear magnetic interaction is needed to push the Os(4c) bands away from EF, which could be induced by Os(4c)-Os(4c) frustration. Therefore, AFM correlation, Coulomb repulsion U and non-collinear interaction all play important roles for the insulating ground state in Ca2Os2O7., Comment: 8 pages, 11 figures, accepted for publication in Phys. Abstract

Single-crystalline KFe2As2 and CaT2As2 (T = Fe, Co, Ni, Cu) are synthesized and investigated by resistivity, susceptibility and optical spectroscopy. It is found that CaCu2As2 exhibits a similar transition to the lattice abrupt collapse transitions discovered in CaFe2(As1-xPx)2 and Ca1-xRexFe2As2 (Re-rare earth element). The resistivity of KFe2As2 and CaT2As2 (T = Fe, Co, Ni, Cu) approximately follows the similar T^2 dependence at low temperature, but the magnetic behaviors vary with different samples. Optical measurement reveals the optical response of CaCu2As2 is not sensitive to the transition at 50 K, with no indication of development of a new energy gap below the transition temperature. Using Drude-Lorentz model, We find that two Drude terms, a coherent one and an incoherent one, can fit the low-energy optical conductivity of KFe2As2 and CaT2As2 (T = Fe, Co, Ni) very well. However, in CaCu2As2, which is a sp-band metal, the low-energy optical conductivity can be well described by a coherent Drude term. Lack of the incoherent Drude term in CaCu2As2 may be attributed to the weaker electronic correlation than KFe2As2 and CaT2As2 (T = Fe, Co, Ni). Spectral weight analysis of these samples indicates that the unconventional spectral weight transfer, which is related to Hund's coupling energy J_H, is only observed in iron pnictides, supporting the viewpoint that J_H may be a key clue to seek the mechanism of magnetism and superconductivity in pnictides., Comment: 7 pages, 8 figures, 1 table; Accepted as an article in Phys.
