Low resilient students are vulnerable to adversities that hinder academic success and wellbeing. However, little is known about the extent of low resilience among higher education students. We searched 11 electronic education and health-science related databases. We targeted higher education journals and relevant reference lists for published and unpublished articles in English and Chinese up to January 1, 2021. The Newcastle-Ottawa Scale and the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation system were used to assess individual and overall evidence. Meta-analysis was conducted for 41 cross-sectional studies using the Stata software. The pooled prevalence of low resilience was 36% among 13,931 students across 18 countries. Subgroup analysis revealed that resilience measures affected resilience prevalence significantly. A higher prevalence of low resilience was found among dance or nursing students in Europe than those in their counterparts. Univariate meta-regression random-effects analyses did not find any significant covariate effects on prevalence estimates. Quality assessment showed that majority (78.05%) of individual studies was high quality, but the overall evidence was rated low. This study provides the prevalence of low resilience in higher education, identifying vulnerable student groups for targeted intervention. Endothelium-derived nitric oxide (NO) plays an important role in the regulation of vascular tone. Lack of NO bioavailability can result in cardiovascular disease. NO bioavailability is determined by its rates of generation and catabolism; however, it is not known how the NO catabolism rate is regulated in the vascular wall under normoxic, hypoxic, and anaerobic conditions. To investigate NO catabolism under different oxygen concentrations, studies of NO and [O.sub.2] consumption by the isolated rat aorta were performed using electrochemical sensors. Under normoxic conditions, the rate of NO consumption in solution was enhanced in the presence of the rat aorta. Under hypoxic conditions, NO consumption decreased in parallel with the [O.sub.2] concentration. Like the inhibition of mitochondrial respiration by NO, the inhibitory effects of NO on aortic [O.sub.2] consumption increased as [O.sub.2] concentration decreased. Under anaerobic conditions, however, a paradoxical reacceleration of NO consumption occurred. This increased anaerobic NO consumption was inhibited by the cytochrome c oxidase inhibitor NaCN but not by the free iron chelator deferoxamine, the flavoprotein inhibitor diphenylene iodonium (10 [micro]M), or superoxide dismutase (200 U/ml). The effect of [O.sub.2] on the NO consumption could be reproduced by purified cytochrome c oxidase (CcO), implying that CcO is involved in aortic NO catabolism. This reduced NO catabolism at low [O.sub.2] tensions supports the maintenance of effective NO levels in the vascular wall, reducing the resistance of blood vessels. Objectives: The aim of the project was to reduce interruptions during oral medication rounds among nurses working in hematology-oncology wards by improving compliance with best practices by 20%., Introduction: Medication errors can adversely affect patient safety. Hence, understanding the underlying contributors to medication errors is necessary. Nurses are the ones who administer medications to patients; however, in clinical areas, interruptions are prevalent and could contribute to medication errors. It is therefore recommended that interventions be implemented to minimize interruptions., Methods: This project was conducted in two hematology-oncology wards from March 2022 to March 2023. Target participants were nurses who served medications in the morning. The project followed an evidence-based audit and feedback methodology using the seven-phase JBI Evidence Implementation Framework. JBI's Practical Application of Clinical Evidence System (PACES) was used to support the audit and feedback process. An interruption reduction bundle consisting of three best practices was implemented., Results: At baseline, only 24% of medications administered occurred without interruption. One month after implementation, there was a 51% improvement in compliance. Six months after implementation, compliance increased to 58%. Nine months post-implementation, the compliance rate remained at 59%. Absolute interruption counts decreased from 47 (baseline), to 27 (1 month post-implementation), to 24 (6 months post-implementation), to 16 (9 months post-implementation).
