Abstract

Nonadiamond (ND) are renowned as superlative material due to their relatively high thermal conductivity and hardness while comparing with any bulk materials. In the paper, the polyacrylonitrile/nanonodiamond (PAN/ND) precursors were fabricated via electrospinning using the PAN solution incorporated with ND at an alteration of mass fractions. The C/ND nanofibers were preparation from the carbonization of PAN/ND precursors. And then, composite nanofibers are characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and so on. The results show that the thermal conductivity of the C/ND nanofiber composite nanofibers with 50 wt% ND incorporation reached 6.7 W/(m•k), which is about 2.7 times that of the C/ND composite nanofiber without ND.

Abstract

In this paper, we demonstrate a solution-processed MoSe2 quantum dots/PEDOT:PSS bilayer hole extraction layer (HEL) for non-fullerene organic solar cells (OSCs). It is found that the introduction of MoSe2 QDs can alter the work function and phase separation of PEDOT:PSS, thus affecting the morphology of the active layer and improving the performance of OSCs. The MoSe2 QDs/PEDOT:PSS bilayer HEL can improve the fill factor (FF), short-circuit current density (Jsc) and power conversion efficiency (PCE) of OSCs based on different active layers. The best PCE of up to 17.08% was achieved based on a recently reported active layer binary system named SZ2:N3, which is among the highest reported values to date for OSCs using 2D materials as an interface modifier. Our study indicates that this simple and solution-processed MoSe2 QDs/PEDOT:PSS bilayer thin film could be a potential alternative HEL to the commonly used PEDOT:PSS conducting polymers. Abstract

To produce Ti sponge for aerospace applications, the inflow process of Fe, Ni, and Cr impurities has been investigated by obtaining the distribution of the concentrations of these impurities, analyzing the microstructure and elemental composition of specimens, and calculating the formation enthalpies of the Mg–Ti–Fe, Mg–Ti–Ni and Mg–Ti–Cr ternary systems via the Miedema and Troop models. Fe, Ni, and Cr impurities are heterogeneous enriched, and the sides of the sponge mass have relatively higher impurity contents. This is caused by contamination from the stainless-steel reaction retort. The inflow process of impurities consists of two steps: the dissolution of impurities in liquid Mg and the formation of alloys with the Ti sponge. The retort material, the temperature of the reaction zone, and the uniformity and thickness of the Ti film are the key factors that directly influence the impurity contents.

Abstract

Ti-modified Si3N4 (Ti/Si3N4) whiskers were modified with titanium by a one-pot deposition method in a vacuum. Pt electrocatalysts supported on Ti/Si3N4 (Pt-Ti/Si3N4) were fabricated using a microwave-assisted reduction method. A Ti coating was formed on the surface of Si3N4 and strongly bonded with Si3N4 with the assistance of TiNx and Ti5Si3. In this paper, the Pt-Ti/Si3N4 electrocatalysts demonstrated outstanding electrochemical stability and excellent electrocatalytic activity toward the methanol oxidation and oxygen reduction reactions compared to the Pt supported on pristine Si3N4. Abstract

Oxidization of diamond in the sintering process of diamond/glass composites results in uncontrolled expansion with many irregular pores and low bending strength of the tools. In this paper, Al powder was used as oxygen getter due to its excellent affinity with oxygen. Its oxidization product, Al2O3, entered into glass network. Consequently, oxidization of the grits was inhibited, and the wettability of diamond grits by the matrix improved. As a result, the expansion phenomenon was inhibited and the bending strength improved for all the composites. The minimum volume expansion rate and maximum bending strength were obtained for the composite with 4 wt% Al powder. This Al content resulted in a decrease of volume expansion rate from 175.2% to −10.9%, and an increase in bending strength from 11.3 to 75.1 MPa compared with the composite without Al powder. Abstract

To solve the problem that Si was volatile and dense Si/SiC ceramics were difficult to achieve by spark plasma sintering (SPS) under a low sintering temperature and pressure, three kinds of SiC powders were used for particle grading and then ball‐milled with different time to further change and regulate their particle size and morphology, and finally nearly dense Si/SiC ceramics were prepared by SPS. The effect of milling time on particle size, morphology, tap density, phase, and microstructure of the SiC powders, as well as on bulk density, microhardness, thermal conductivity, phase, and microstructure of the Si/SiC ceramic, was researched. When the mixed SiC powders were ball‐milled for 12 min, the bulk density, microhardness, and thermal conductivity of Si/SiC ceramic were 2.96 g/cm3, 22.95 GPa, and 152.84 W/(m K), respectively. Ball milling changed the particle gradation and micro‐powder morphology and then affected the powder particle stacking state. Forming continuous pore channels was conducive for the volatile liquid Si to flowing and filling pores in a short time, resulting in denser Si/SiC ceramics at a lower sintering temperature and pressure.
